I have to agree. I've been really interested in something like this. I'm not interested in spending the money on a vision pro, but I'm also looking for something a lot more compact and that feels like regular glasses so the meta quest doesn't really work for me either. This and the viture have been interesting but I want to know details and this video felt a bit out of character for Luke in how little detail there was. I'm guessing xreal didn't let him get into the details and tbh that makes me trust them less.
gotta disagree with this on this one. i'm just so tired of all those benchmarks in every tech video so a more simpler approach to just a "real life usage" feels fresh. i can just go and google all the needed benchmarks in a second or check any other popular UA-camr, i bet there gonna be a ton of videos with the same info about its capabilities.
Because it is an advertisement and you can see everything is choppy, also the streaming. Therefore the selling point is it costs 500€ (1/6 of 3500?) and supports all Android apps out of the box.
Agreed. It's a terrible review and disingenuous to compare it with AVP or even the Meta Quest with a lousy 1080p resolution. It's just marginally better than those pathetic $20 smartphone VR goggle adapters. Moreover, at 1/6 the price of the AVP, it's an even worse value than the Meta Quest.

I really don’t think this is a productive direction to be going in, see LTT’s drama surrounding this topic. It will become harder to trust your opinion in videos going forward

I already have the glasses and they are fantastic for consuming content to the point my tv rarely gets used. Getting the beam pro is a no brainer for me
These look great. Apples problem is that it is really bad at creating competing devices. iPads have been as fast as Mac’s and yet they don’t take advantage of that because the cheaper device might sell more than the expensive one. Vision Pro is what they want you to buy so if they make a cheaper set of glasses they will never be allowed to overshadow their pricier items. But if they started with the cheaper one they would not been able to keep 8k displays exclusivity to Apple, another trick they use to seem like the best.
Yeah avp kind of freaked me out, but Apple is always gets to the next big thing first (or they have for the past several years). The glasses design is less freaky, I heard that’s what they were going for next
We are talking about an HD device that has 55 degrees of fov in its Ultra version. Otherwise 49 on the Xreal Air & Air Pro if I’m not mistaken. So it is incomparable to the Vision Pro with its dual 4K displays and around 100 degrees of for which itself is not optimal but along the best fovs. Xreal’s concept of external computing device is interesting though. Apple having an external battery design, maybe it’s potentially to prepare us for embracing the same concept in the future for a thinner, more affordable Vision Air with external computing or iPhone-tethered🤔
I'm more than happy to take the Xreal over the overrated AVP. After all, you don't need to own the Beam Pro to use the Air 2 glasses. You can use the Air 2 glasses with the latest iPhone and iPad.

something is really clear, Apple vision IS Pro, Xreal not. The "Pro" statement on Xreal is to much but taking the "pro" out seems to be a really good alternative.
When it comes to displays, resolution is what matters far over 'physical' size (AR equivalent or not). And with the Xreal stuff, I've always found it fishy that trying to find its display resolution has always been difficult, even when it was first announced. Now I know why... as its only HD. 1080p really isn't worth it IMO, especially for the price. Might be good for something like a Steam Deck, for gaming (even then, 60hz...), but as a monitor replacement, absolutely no way. Absolute minimum for productivity now days is 1440p if not HiDPI, especially on macOS.
