@@TechItEasyCollective definitely. Moreover, I haven't even thought about using it for work. I am a professional filmeditor and seeing you using it for work, is amazing. I will definitely test it for work as well. Initially I only thought reviewing it from a traveler's perspective, but your video gave me some more usecase inspiration. Thanks
Nebula for windows has been coming soon for years! This product is not worth the investment, they put no money into software development. I bought the beam pro pre-order and the same crappy software it launched with is all it has.
Nice review! Quite convincing. I tried an Air 1 a year or so ago, that I got for a little under three hundo, but she ended up being sent back. Air 2 Pro with Beam Pro look like they'll be the winning ticket, however!
Thanks! Yeah it's all good fun, I've found since doing this review my main use is with a macbook, I love editing on my new M4 with these glasses, I can actually work in a coffee shop, it's given me so much freedom 👌
Where is the slot for the SD card for expanded memory? I don't see one on my beam pro. I am confused at this one point. Other than that, thanks for the info! Great video.
Hey mate, if you're looking at the screen, it's on the left hand side, you'll see a tiny hole, you'll need a sim ejector tool to pop it out, then it's in there :) if you're still struggling to find it, hit me up in the discord and I can take a pic or short vid for you 👌
Hello! So, I have Low Vision and I have some questions: • Is the option to have big screens only on the Beam Pro? Does the Android Nebula app not provide anything of the sort? • Have you tried using it for something else like navigation? For example, you open a GPS app and go around walking but see the path you should take on the screen? Note: I know these have prescription lenses. That doesn't matter to me because prescription glasses don't work with my condition. I wear glasses daily almost exclusively for protective reasons as they do nothing for me otherwise. I'm also not after the AI capabilities some have. Honestly, if it can connect to my phone fine then that's good. I can just use my phone's assistant if I really need it. My interest is if they can be good as monitors. I'd love to try these but I'm not sure they'll be good for the problem I have and they aren't exactly cheap so if they don't work I'll just be left with junk abd less 500€ minimum, that is, if I don't get the Beam that makes it even more expensive.
This is a really difficult question to answer, as technically, yes you can do it on android, the issue, its buggy as hell and the app just isn't ready - They are working on it, but its kind of a gamble if you buy without the beam! They're definitely fine as monitors, but in my experience only with macbook and the beam pro!
Hello, great video. So is there still no support for multiple AR monitors with windows PCs? I was planning on buying the xreal air 2 to use for work, without the beam pro, just so I can have multiple virtual monitors. Do you think that's possible yet?
Hey bud, At the moment that functionality isn't available on windows PC's, if you plug it in, you get a screen mirroring effect, so you'll have a single, large display that moves with your head, and you can't adjust the size. I would wager the feature will eventually become available as they've got up to 3 displays working on macbook, but no way of knowing when - whilst I was forming my review, I asked XReal directly and they said there was no timeline for the windows software at the moment - Sorry I can't be of more help!
@@TechItEasyCollective that's sad. not all of us have macbooks or want one. guess, this is a miss for now on my end, despite having a macbook myself. i want something that works across the board as i do work with windows too.
If I was just planning to use a Macbook M1 Pro to watch films on a large screen, and maybe a little productivity - Do I still need a Beam device to improve the stability of the screen if I move my head but my body is going to be relatively still? I've not seen anyone talk about the combo of the Mac & Beam device together. Thanks!
Hey mate! So second the to beam pro, my experience in a mac has been amazing for productivity, you don't get the follow your head feature on the mac though, but you can fix a large screen, or even 3 screens to any position you want, so as an example you could lie in bed, look where you want the screen to be, then you click the fix button and it will stay there. The only thing I'd say, is video playback isn't consistent at the moment, recently amazon prime for example has been a bit hit and miss as to whether it works or not, occasionally when I play a movie the video window just stays black for some reason! I'm sure xreal is working on all this though!
IPhone app is in beta/ being worked on so it's a bit of a gamble - you will get the standard mirrored screen though whichever device you plug into- Android phone currently works best but you need a fairly recent flagship in my opinion - the best combos are the macbook pro and the beam pro being your best portable option!
One of the most impressive features of the Apple Vision Pro is its ability to recreate panoramic stills of 180 degrees or more. Which of these glasses if any can do the same?
I see what you mean but not really, the beam pro just helps apps etc work a bit better in the AR space, your experience using Dex would feel quite different! That being said, all the apps that won't work well with your Samsung phone when you plug the glasses in, should work fine with the beam pro
To optimistic, I can not share this experience for productivity. Nebula on Mac is to buggy and airstream on the Beam does not work. (Hardware: Latest MBP, Iphone 15, Ipad 13 )
It's mad how not one person has the same experience 😅 what specifically do you have issues with when using nebular on Mac out of interest? And thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I never seem to be able to be able to frame myself in a nice way, think my camera is too high and makes me look like I'm dancing the whole video - working on it 😂😂
It's because the windows app doesn't exist.. Well it did.. But now it's in beta and there was no version that I can see to download :/ I primarily use Windows!
Its both a positive and a negative tbh, Im getting on a flight to Africa this weekend, and being able to use the beam pro instead of my phone is going to save me precious phone battery 🔋 I think in the not so distant future, AR glasses will be standalone devices though!

Still in beta yes! But surprisingly works really well, so not sure why it's still classed as being in beta? 🤷

Hi what was the software you used with your PC .
When you worked outside. Thanks
Assuming you mean the remote connection software? The name is Parsec :) You could also consider Moonlight too (Little more complicated to set up)

What does Beam Pro does when using 3dsmax? Don't you have to connect to laptop for 3dsmax?
Yes so I downloaded Parsec from the playstore, it's low latency remote software, and then I connected that to my work PC and it worked flawlessly 👌
