Happy birthday Jim!
Do you think that you could make a blade that makes the Damascus look like rows of sharp teeth?
Happy birthday, Jim!
I 100% understand why everyone wants one of those knives. That first one is the best looking knife I've ever seen. There's nothing else that even comes close.

Your knives are so beautiful, keep them up!
Thanks for following along on the channel!
Beautify as always. Now lets see you try and get different patterns of the copper throughout the steel.
That’s a tough one. Every time you restack the billet you’d have to add a layer of copper between them because you can’t get it up to forge welding temps or you melt all your copper. Maybe I’ll try a restack at some point. 👍. Thanks for watching!
Stunning craftsmanship.
Thanks for watching, Andy!
Happy birthday to Jim and your son 😀
Thank you, and thanks for watching! 👍🏻
jeez! this is just so cool !! such helpful forging!! ugh!! this is so beautiful !!
Thanks for checking out the build!

Thanks for checking out the build, James!
Happy birthday Jim!
Happy birthday jim!!!! Amazing knife you have sir.
Thanks for checking it out, James!
This is a nice knife, but the last copper knife is still my favorite. I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to purchase that first one. However, I'm sure the new owner, Jim will be proud of both this knife and his son.
Thanks for checking this one out too!
@@TyrellKnifeworks if you ever need a custom sheath for a knife, let me know, I've been tooling leather from the age of six... and though I have expanded and branched our into other art medium, leather is one I also keep sharp. May have a bit to do with being primarily native American. 🤔. Now-a-days I do more bike leathers, seats and saddlebags, yet I still keep the skills fresh for cases, holsters and sheaths.
@@GG-ud1ib thanks but I already do my own sheaths.
Gorgeous knife, blade and handle. Excellent videos.
Thanks for checking it out, Kevin!
I love these kinds of videos. And you do awesome work.
Thanks so much, Sam! I appreciate you watching!
@@TyrellKnifeworks very nice work. People don't know how much time goes into this kind of knife, would've been longer if you didn't already have the Damascus done. Thanks again for all your hard work in helping us with our knife building
I love the knife. I would love one for my husband. He’s retiring from a power company and that would be a nice gift.
Thanks for checking it out, Belinda. What I have is (normally) in my Etsy shop (link in every video description). I’ve pulled it all down because it’s all going to the blade show in LA in Oct. After the show, whatever doesn’t sell will be announced on my UA-cam community page. I’m going to be pulling away from Etsy because their fees are pretty high. Check the community page after the show. 👍
Love your work Sir that cooper knife is BOSS you have gained another Subscriber 👍
Welcome to the channel, Trevor! New builds every Sunday! 👍
I really like the reasons why you are doing this build! I love it!
Thanks for taking a look, Daniel!
Wow another amazingly beautiful knife!
Thanks for taking a look, Lucas!
Not only does Jim get an extremely cool knife but he gets a video of watching that actual knife get made. Plus the envy of several thousand people. Happy Birthday Jim! Your videos make we want to take up another expensive hobby. Somehow I have to figure out a way to make enough money to support them all - lol.
Thanks for checking out the build, David. It’s not really that expensive to start. I’m planning a video about how to get started soon! 👍
Happy Birthday Jim!! And thanks for your service... From an Army Vet.
Great work love the videos.
Thanks for taking a look, Jason!
If I got this as a gift I’d be the happiest person alive
Thanks for checking it out, Elijah!
You have a talent that can best be described as a godly gift...

@@TyrellKnifeworks one of these days I’ll get some tools together and try some knife making……I’ll start with stock removal and see how that goes, thanks for all of the informative videos!
@@timtheflyguy That's a good way to start, Tim. You can make some amazing knives with stock removal. Thanks for watching!

C'est super que vous ayez décidé d'essayer la forge de lames ! Bonne chance et merci d'avoir regardé!
I really do like your channel you have given me many great ideas and I think you do good work. W/e said that you cannot weld copper needs to look it up. It is true that welding dissimilar metals together is difficult and complicated and considered impossible using some methods. some welds are set by manipulating a weld puddle, but because of the differing characteristics of different steels / alloys getting a sound weld is not possible. There is a type of Welding that allows bonds between dissimilar metals. It is called diffusion welding (bonding). Look it up. This type of weld does not use the manipulation of puddle, but instead used heat, pressure, and time to create the weld. Black Smith's/ and blade Smith's use this welding technique all this time. They call it forge welding. This is the process you use when you join copper to steel, or when creating Damascus steel.
Thanks for following the channel, I appreciate it!
Beautiful knife. Copper line running through twisted pattern look amazing. Handle material look really cooler 👍👍🔥🔥
Thanks for watching, Gurvinder! I like how this one turned out.
Beautiful blade as usual. The pattern in the handle was quite surprising.
Thanks for checking this one out, Eddy!
Beautiful blade

Love your work! Beautiful knife!
Thanks for watching, Kyle!
Wow, that is so beautiful, idea for you, I’m a retired military member and good knife to make with you copper insert would be a survival knife or K-Bar, of course with your own spin on it.
I might do a kbar at some point. Thanks for watching, Keith!
Cool, I carried both during my time in, couldn’t leave home without them, lol. Hope you making in Damascus.
@@keithspencersr.6806 I rarely do just mono steel. 😜
Wishing Jim a happy birthday and many thanks for you for making this for him. Just out of curiosity, instead of copper, can you use gold, it would look awesome?
Yeah you could use gold. I even looked it up, it would cost about $1800 just for the gold. 😜. Thanks for watching!
@@TyrellKnifeworks how much gold will I need in kg or grams? And how many carat? Will the gold be placed on the same method as per video where strip(s) will be inserted? Also, if I ever wanted to extract the gold out again would it be possible after melting the knife or will all the metals mix (I'm not planning to but just asking) and what designs of knife do you have? Sorry for all the questions but your work is stunning and I am interested
@@tkhan4451 even 9k or 10k gold would work. You’d need a sheet of 0.01 - 0.02 inch thickness that was 1.5” wide and 12” long. I would cut that in half to have two 6” pieces, one for each side. Then do a high carbon steel core and probably a Damascus cladding. It would be really hard to melt out the gold after the knife was produced, you’d probably lose most of it. If you want to front the $$$ for the gold, I’ll make the knife!
@@TyrellKnifeworks how much will the knife cost? Can I have a quote with and without gold but without gold an different colour metal so it has contrast like the copper/metal one on this video.
@@tkhan4451 I don't actually do custom orders, I'd be willing to do this if it has the gold in it. Why don't you email me at tyrellknifeworks at gmail or msg me on instagram and we talk about it.
It looks so cool
Thanks for checking it out, Luke!
Very good job! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Really great knife. Jim's lucky
Thanks for taking a look!
Another masterpiece! Are you tempted to test other metals in your work? Would be interesting to see what metals work well
I contemplated using real gold, but I priced it and it would be $1800 just for the gold! Thanks for watching, Sam!
@@TyrellKnifeworks how about silver? Not sure how much of costs though
@@bamsarnie yeah, silver would work but you might as well just use nickel, same color.
@@TyrellKnifeworks not if you are hunting werewolves...
