I thought you might like a look at this great little Plymouth Barracuda. This baby is powered by the 273 V8, backed by a four-speed manual trans. With a curb weight of only about 3,100 Lbs, it was a pretty strong performer in it's day. The body is straight, the interior has been redone, and they say it runs great. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for watching!

We never got the 2 door here. We never got a local made V8 till the mid 60's and that was the Chrysler 273 in the 66/67 VC Valiant
Barracuda name fits it strikes like the predator it is named after awsome wonderfull car 🤟 thanks jeff and Jordan for this video
I had a 65 Barracuda when I was 18, it had a 225 Slant 6, was white with Blue Interior. Drove it all over Oregon before I joined the Navy. Great car it was!
I had a silver '65 Barracuda Formula S, 4 speed that I picked up at the factory 2 days after I got out of the Army. The HiPo Commando V8 was a little screamer, I blew the doors off a '65 Pontiac GTO, 5 times in a row. He just didn't want to quit, he kept saying I know I can beat you! The car in this video does not have the HiPo V8.
I agree with previous comments regarding this 273. It appears to be a standard 273, NOT a HP 273. Restoring one of these myself, I found the HP 273s came with a 4bbl and the "engine dress-up" package ( black crackle finished valve covers with aluminim cooling louvers and a chrome air cleaner housing with COMMANDO 273 decal on the top)
Lovely looking motor! It certainly is parked in tightly there.
They pack them in like sardines.
Had one in 1976. Solid lift cam dual point distributor. 4 Speed. Tire smoking son of a buck. Not saying it was a Commando that sucker would run
i like those. heck, i like them all
They are great little cars. As always, thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
Nice car but it is not a commando 273. The commando has a 4 barrel carb and black valve covers with aluminum fins. The cars equipped with commando engine also had commando V8 badge on the front fender.
My aunt had a tan one . Great car
That's cool she had one, they really are great cars. Thanks for taking a look at this one.
Gorgeous car!
Super nice. Always loved this body and the next ones even more. This car would absolutely bitching with some suspension and brake upgrades. Thank you, always. Christo.
Glad you like it Christo. Thanks for watching!
that is not the Hi performance 273. the Hi PO version was called a commando. the badge on the front fender would say V8 commando. The valve covers would have a black crinkle finish and it would be a 4 bbl carb with a non snorkel air cleaner. Still a nice car though.
Guy who lived up the street from me had one of these, put a 340 in it, instant sleeper...
Oh yeah, they'll move along pretty well with a 340 under the hood.
I'm saving up to buy a 65 baracuda i found for 3 grand. gona do a resortation/rebuild and save the orginal engine if possible.
Nice find Jeff, these were cool looking cars back in the day, and this looks like a nice one. I'm not sure about the red paint, but I haven't seen one of these on the road for ages. You pick the rare ones, and that is what I like to see. My neighbor owned a 67 with the 273 hi-po with 4 speed, it was fast enough to have a lot of fun.
Glad you like it. Yeah, that red is pretty bright, but it's still a nice looking car. I don't see too many of these anymore.
Yup, I have 3. 65, 66, and 67 f/s.
This is not the hi-po engine. It is the standard 180 horse, 2 barrel engine.
Show some 68,69,70 dodge chargers, challengers and their exhaust sounds
this was my auto tech teacher's dream car, i can see why.
