Iems are such much trickier because if there are 5-10 headphones on the market in a given price bracket there are 100+ iems . So if you mention your favorite items people will ask what about the other 90 that you haven’t heard.
A very nicely arranged tier list , taking price to performance into consideration.
I was surprised to find that I have a few of your well liked IEM’s in my stable.
Variations
S12
OH10
KATO
Aria
Yes, they’re Low Chi-Fi …but they are very enjoyable and each bring something unique to the party 🎉
Once again thank you.
Been waiting for this one
Brilliant information 👏
Thank you ❤👍
Hi @CMA. I enjoy your vids, thanks for making them. Quick question. I already have the Shuoer s12 (bought it on your recommendation), and I enjoy it very much. Would you say it is worth getting the Moondrop Kato as well? A while back I watched a video where you said how much you enjoy the TinHiFi T3+, and how it might replace your s12. I have not seen you say the same about the Kato. Does T3+ have any good qualities the Kato lacks?
Biggest stage smoother treble I definitely think it’s a fantastic companion
And you can appreciate both the different types of music. I highly recommend. Also look on the used market. You’ll probably grab one for about $100
Very nice and entertaining tier list presentation. Thank you, Koji! It's 5 🐅! Sadly you didn't have the latest Sennheiser IEMs like the IE900, IE600, IE300 and the very new IE200. I own and really really love the IE900. I had the IE300, too, but wasn't that much impressed. They're not bad though. I still have the IE 400 Pro, which are meant to be real monitors and they do a fantastic job.
Sorry mate, unfortunately none of them have come in for review, I don’t like ranking things I’ve never heard on here say these are things I have actively played with and reviewed and sat with
@@ConvinceMeAudio Yes, of course you can't rank grad you didn't experience yourself. Did Sennheiser refuse to send them to you? Maybe I can help.
@@techmed-rainer I will be 100% honest I’ve not reached out to that company yet for review units, I will contact them and if they say no, I’ll have a chat with you again
@@techmed-rainer thank you so much for the support and I appreciate the offer as well. It’s very much appreciated.
@@ConvinceMeAudio You're dearly welcome!
U12t - The only one I liked in their line as well. Funny, these rarely come up used.
Agree on the UM Mest Mk2, it redefined that level and considering that you can get the Universals for well under $1k, still the buy of the century. I've seen them as low as $600, I would get them over anything at that level up to $2000
I've got them in the Ukraine Edition 😄 I'll be keeping em even with Fir Radon 6 and Legend X
What are your thoughts on Atmos mixed music? I guess you've experienced it at some point.
Only on the AirPod max, very intriguing
But I definitely have not spent long enough with it to give a full assessment. I’ll dive into it and come back to this.
Where would you place the Tangzu Xuan NV?
@@BohmanderTCG apologies, I don’t have experience with that one yet
What eartips and source did you use with the Indigo and Mest Mk2?
Hmmm Lotoo paw6000 - Goldtouch es100 topping a90
It’s been such a long time, nearly 2 years, but the equipment that was on the channel those days
@@ConvinceMeAudio ah understandable. do you still remember which eartips you liked on them?
@@Viewer13128 rubber tips definitely not phone
I think I chose an open bore wide bore selection due to the size of the nozzle
Danke!
A very heartfelt, thank you from CMA for the support 🐅
MAD24 its much steps up compare MEST MKII ?
Oh definitely
Thx for vid!! So… where is TinHIFI T3 Plus?)
I think I made a serious boo-boo LOL. That is the one I was actually talking about. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I need to put it in the comments LOL I can’t believe I’ve done that again this is the second time
@@ConvinceMeAudio 😂👍
I have one iem and its the mest OG i as many people cant stay with a end game !
I tried
U12t , trio , u18 , fourte
VE elysium, ext , phonix
Ie600 ie900
Noble KK , sultan
TA clairs
UM mest MKII
And still prefer the mest OG
They are very special
So which are the basshead iem ?
I couldn't say, but I was hoping he would have included the FATfreq 'Grand Maestro' (with 'BASSCANNON technology [which] recreates deep subwoofer tremors that you can feel.'). They also have 'Maestro SE' and 'Maestro Mini' models. Undoubtedly one of these models will make this IEM tier list in a future video. Thankfully he's spread out top models at a variety of price points.
Aren't qdc and um also chifi brands?
Certainly
All these moondrops but no Blessing 2 dusk, really?
Unfortunately, they have not come in for review, hopefully they will come in with the three
❤
Hopefully qkz x Hbb are listed as A class
I've never been able to bring myself to go more than $500 on an IEM for one reason.............I can see myself losing them, freaking out and then find them 2 years later in the corner under the couch.
🤣 unfortunately, you can’t knock around super flagship monitors like that chi-fi
You treat them differently, you never put them in your pocket and if they aren't in your ears, they are in their case.
I wanted to write “i would never lose my IEMs like this “ but that would lead to me losing my IEMs exactly like this.
this arrangement is very confusing (for me). For example, many reviewers could pick a $1-2k IEM over a $3k IEM. when I come across your "summit-tier super flagship" and "mid-tier flagship" designations, it becomes challenging to discern whether an A class in the latter outperforms an S class in the former. It is entirely possible, as demonstrated by reviewers like precogvision who rank the Diva higher than significantly more expensive IEMs, or HBB who places $1-2k IEMs above those priced at $3k and beyond. but given the arrangement of your tier list, it is difficult to interpret and determine their relative rankings since they are separated.
i can only guess that this is to make some lower-tier IEMs look better in order to push sales for companies for budget-tier rather than make the company unhappy?
You cannot reasonably expect to compare a $50 IEM to a $1000+ flag ship IEM. The clarity of the driver alone is audible from even a complete novice "audiophile". Going from my $500 Planar Hifiman Edition XS to my $50 Crinacle Zero's is like taking 3 steps back in terms of driver precision and clarity. I still like them for their purpose but these things perform so differently they must be separated.
@@drewmorg. [edited out] Crinacle also does not rank via separate price brackets and he explains clearly why he does not separate price brackets (ofc we can disagree with the reviewer's IEM rankings, but non-separate price brackets is the more accurate "methodology").
E.g., Let's pretend a $1k IEM is ranked #10, a $600 IEM is ranked #50, and a $50 IEM is ranked #100. This is helpful because all other $1,000 IEMs "should" be ranked NEAR each other.
Why is this very useful? Because by doing this, we can EASILY tell if a $1,000 IEM is not worth buying if it ranks at, for example, NEAR the $600 IEM ranks and FARTHER from the $1,000 IEM ranks. If you separate by price brackets, it makes that IEM look better and I would waste my money.
Another point, this is also why some reviewers award "value stars" to IEMs. It is because some IEMs do the opposite and punch UP the price bracket.
Using price brackets makes products in a specific price range appear similar in performance and value even if that is not the case.
I hope I explained properly.
Headphones next please
He made such a video on Dec 11, 2022 --
/watch?v=ec_2hVRL7Bc
Great video, but honestly i dont get this whole Mest hype. Their tuning is mediocre- too withdrawn mids/vocals and then suddenly the trebles show up, piercing my ears. This is the tuning of a 400-700 dol iems. The u12t and the Monarch literally destroy them in tuning and naturalness of presentation. Vocals on the Mest Mk2 sound thin, veiled and boring in comparison to the Monarch Mk2 which has almost life-like vocals and mids. Also the detail and textures on the Monarch Mk2 are insane, the MMk2 even overtakes the u12t in some areas. Both Mests cant compete here. The last thing worth mentioning is the Mests 1 and 2 driver incoherency. A horribly disjointed picture of the music. Its interesting but far from being natural and realistic. Again the u12t and the Monarch Mk2 come to help here, with coherency which is at least on the level of hd600 but they have separation, bass, imaging that put the hd600 in shame.
There are a few problems with this comment, that I will address now. tips make a very very very big difference to the UM the experience can be quite jarring when you go through a pile of them, I think it took me 37 before I found the right one. The first generation had a crossover issue that I addressed in the review. This one I agree with. But if you’re looking for a neutral reference sounding monitor like the U 12 T, you will not find it here, the comparisons can’t be drawn from each other.. it’s wild. It’s weird and there is nothing like it., I think you might of had a issue with a bone conduction, not working properly that’s why. They do not image normally, and most certainly do not image reference.
But how they image is absolutely insane. Also they require a lot of power to drive properly. Unfortunately what were you using?
@@ConvinceMeAudio i was using IBasso dx320 and Shanling M8. I used Azla Sedna Cristal tips which gave me a full bone conduction feeling. But it's not what made me concerned. It was these weird high mids/trebles transition, making my ears bleeding. Veiled and unnatural sounding vocals were my second concern. I appreciated the bass response which was fantastic. But honestly, the Monarch Mk2 is at least 1 level above these. The coherency, the naturalness of timbre, full bodied mids and vocals and beautiful imaging and out of head separation, makes the Monarch nr1 on my list. Second one is the u12t - i just love this set.
Meat mk2 is just too wild and incoherent to have a place at a very top of my list. But to each their own, many people love Mests and that's great.
I think im more in Crinacles camp of taste, that's all.
Anyways, i love your videos and i really enjoy your original style of reviewing all this stuff. You really make this hobby colorful and interesting. Keep it up!
@@karolkedzierski5824 very valid points, definitely driven properly,.
And I guess, yes to each to their own. I certainly did appreciate them but seen as they left after the reviews were done and I’ve not really felt the need to go back. It’s a thought I actually need to think about LOL
I’ve got to bring y12t in for a review, I love the tuning
Cheers bud, I appreciate it
I own Mest2, and I've had a pleasure to listen to Monarch2. I think they are just different, wouldn't say one is better than the other. Monarch2 were more natural but they were too slow sometimes (especially for fast electronic music). I guess it just depends what kind of music you listen to mostly, I find Mest2 better than Monarch2 in electronic genres. Aaaaaaaand of course fit of Monarch2 - something's off with their shape, after 30 minutes I was not able to keep them in my ears, but of course that's very subjective from one person to another. Cheers!
@@ConvinceMeAudio I am still in my tip quest for the Mest mk2. The exalastics are comfy and give great bass but they work themselves out of my ears. I found other tips that had good fit but came of the iem and got stuck in my ear. The best so far are the spin fits w1. The bass is slightly less, but still there, the mid range and highs are great, better than with the exalastics. Weirdly enough the Sedna earfits that came with the mest mk2 give me no isolation with either small, medium or large size. My quest continuous.
Too many As, too positive rated.
Lol
