3:58 - "you confused = your opponent confused" How did you break down my entire chess strategy in just a few simple words?
4:04 …which is exactly the type of chess I want to play. I am so tired of playing the same by-the-book openings and ending up in the same places in so many games. This video is a masterpiece.
Halloween gambit in a nutshell: You take my knight and your pieces will never have an ounce of sleep.
Kings gambit also have this hardcore feeling of tactical warfare except you don't sacrifice a knight (in most cases) but engage in f file bullying and every single person will have a different way of dealing with it so it's always fun and you also can do it in the 2nd move which is cool
Vienna gambit >>> , I’m 1600 and the amount of times I get this exact position but with both knights is ridiculous, people LOVE decling the gambit and developing the knight , all you have to do is take e6 and they walk themselves into this every single time
@@Foxtrot6624 Yeah Vienna gambit with the Nc6 defence is already completely dominating
King's Gambit, for me, only really works when they don't run the Falkbeer Countergambit. Once they do that it just becomes "ugh"
Romantic era chess hit different
Muzio Gambit seems crazy but I'm a 1200 and I haven't gotten a person who even knows the mainline despite playing King's Gambit for months so it'll be a while before I get to play the Muzio
Great video, cant wait for more, I can see this channel becoming quite successful with this format
Thanks 🤝🏻

I'm 1100 but my best game was because of the Halloween gambit and based of that game the engine estimated my rating to be 1900, this is definitely my favourite opening now.
Love these weird openings. Have played a bunch of games to try them, it usually never works out exactly like you show but it sure is fun
small channels giving opening theory advice is very useful, because only a few people see the videos, as opposed to millions. then again, this channel seems like it will grow quite quickly, and for good reason to. you earned yourself a sub from me 👍
Very well edited video, this channel is what i aspire to be. You just earned a new sub. I wish you the best of luck!

There’s a variation of this called 4 knights Gunsberg Variation where you move pawn to a3 hoping they develop the bishop in which case you then take the pawn and sacrifice the knight only to bring two pieces into forking range. So your pawn move forks both pieces and you win a piece back and end up similar position. Magnus used it when he was 9 but his opponent declined the bishop to c5 so he ended up with a position more similar to Halloween gambit
I calculated that I my head just now, isn’t that just allowing a -0.1 or so advantage after d5? That can prolly just be drawn by black.
@@milesking3897bro really calculating these advantages in his head, bro thinks he’s Hikaru 💀

why is everyone commenting this sentence
This is brilliant! Yet it's presented concisely, and is easy to understand. With the touches of humor thrown in, you got another subscriber! I'm holding about 1300 now(still pretty lousy, you don't have to say it), but hopefully this changes that! More videos, please! : )
At first, I was like, "This is a joke," but no, it was actually good solid chess.
Dude you have got to make more videos. This is hilarious. First time I have had a proper therapeudic belly laugh in a long time. Thanks much appreciated.
2:28 the perfect " Trick or Treat " moment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is why I love the Vienna gambit because you essentially get the same thing if they defend with the knight just without sacrificing the knight
Agreed and it's much more practical as you can still play the Vienna if the opponent doesn't play into the Gambit
very true
Accepting the gambit is completely inaccurate, idk why people accept it lol. Do you Vienna players still gambit against a symmetrical? Or do you go for a bc4 bc5 qg4 thing? Btw this is coming from a Catalan/grünfeld/Réti/petrov player.
@milesking3897 In a mirror situation, it's better to develop bc4 then continue from there.
@@jaydencheung2331 you are accurate, Ik that it is more accurate I just wasn’t sure what you guys did as I have seen some games of lower rated player where they still attempt a gambit lol
Hey just wanna add somthing that can be rly helpfull for anyone that wants to play this, covering the second most common response on the third move (the video covered the first one)
If your oponent doesn't go for the 4 knights opening and decide to stop on the 3rd one by playing bishop to c5 (it's the most common move other than going for the 4th knight), you also take the pawn with your knight! This time it's not a gambit and it's actually the engine's best move, because if they take (they will) you can fork his bishop and knight by playing d4. From here white has more than 60% winrate.
Most times they will take your pawn with the bishop so you retake with the queen, from here you just need to know 2 things: 1st, you want to abuse the week pawn on g7. 2nd and realy important, be carefull with the f3 square, if you push the g pawn and left it undeffended, the knight can fork you king and queen
If they retreat the bishop instead of taking the pawn, just play regular chess, you have a better center control and development, you should win most games from here
By having these two realy easy to learn openings in your arsenal, you can play almost half of your games as white in advantage (and in fun to play positions too)
I think you're doing great work mate. You're funny and you know how to keep your audience interested. I love it, keep going mate!
I thought I stumbled upon a hidden chess channel no one talks about. It turns out that this channel was just newly created. Can't wait for more videos to be pumped in and out.

Wow
Just tried this in a bullet game, messed up a bit, but got 1 brilliant move and 5 great moves and won the game with 83.5 accuracy
I've played the halloween gambit a lot actually! In the tripple digits a lot of people just blunder a knight, but black is -1 so most higher rated people will still "win" the middle game. Overall I actually wouldnt recommend it
There are definitely better openings, that are very fun and interesting and risky, while not losing a piece on move 4.
