A lot of those are just opening dependent. Legal Mate is good to know and can be found even in other opening. Lasker Trap only matter if you play Queen’s Gambit or Albin Counter Gambit. There can be similar trap that can happen if you accept stuff like Vianna Gambit or Rousseau Gambit but you have to make bad moves a lot of times for that to happen. Blackburne-Shilling is good to know only if you play Italian. The same idea can apply when you play two knights attack attempting for Fried Liver and black plays Nd4 after d5. That line is actually a lot more solid than Blackburne shilling but also more difficult to remember. For Fishing Pole it’s better to calculate the line if it works or not. Sometimes it doesn’t work and you just win a piece and sometimes it does. The main thing to look for is ‘if the queen can make battery with rook’, ‘if there is a bishop aiming at h2/h7’ and ‘if there’s a rook sac on h8/h1’. Sometimes it also works when bishop in in front of queen and lines up with h2 and there’d be something like Bh2+ Bg4+(discovered check) Qh2# my advice is that if you can’t see a line that’d work against you then you should take the pole and if you lose, you’d learn something. Next time when you see a pole you’d be able to see more thing.
@@ศกรโสมาภา Of course, it isn't as simple as copying 5 moves and you've already won. Traps are fun and can be effective sometimes, but you need to study them thoroughly so that they don't backfire. And some are better than others, since even if the bait is not taken, you should still have a good position.
You will however, run into b3 Qf3 and black plays f5, ready to play d5 discover attack with bisshop, capture e4 and have lethal threats on your light square bisshop. Black will be completely dominating the game as you will only have bisshop and queen on board, while black has all but the rooks developed. Short side castling is ready any time, Bg7 is ready anytime.
In Lasker's trap, you could put the king in check with the move bishop g4. The king has two options: take the pawn on f2 or move to e3. Either way black can win white's queen.
4:33 you also have bishop g4 check with no way to block -> king moves out of the way -> take the queen behind him with your queen and keep your bishop while invading the opponent's back rank
@melodychest9020 - exactly! I watched a video about a gambit that's supposed to be killer (Danish or some other) and the only refutation (apparently only known by very high rated players) is a pawn move - I played a 1300 bot and it knew this refutation - after that you got nothing.

Got it now. That move is to push Bishop back to h5. This way we can take the bishop if they do not fall for the trap and take our knight on e5 with their knight
On the contrary, do you see how many tactical fundamentals are illustrated in these traps? It certainly promotes a very tactical approach to the game, but I think tactics come first for most people anyways. Great learning path.

8:52 Blackburne-Shilling Trap
11:16 Fishing Pole Trap

Why to play h3 in legal's mate, we can directly go to e5 and do the checkmate
Because black can IGNORE the queen and take the knight. And black is a piece up, no checkmate!
4:33 you also have bishop g4 check with no way to block -> king moves out of the way -> take the queen behind him with your queen and keep your bishop while invading the opponent's back rank
I thought so too until I saw white can respond with Nf3.
"no way to block"?? Are you STUPID?
Instructions unclear for the first one, got draw by repetition but got 100% accuracy and 5 great moves! :D
5:19 you can block with the knight because its protected by the queen
So you take the e3 pawn with check.
