      The first song "Rock The World" sounds like Queensryche (Queen Of The Reich from 1983), the other songs have a bit of Judas Priest, Dokken, Motley Crue and other 80's Heavy Metal bands. A good album but the sound of the band was similar to lots of 80's bands, they got their own sound on the Groove Metal album Cowboys From Hell (1990) and changed the Metal scene forever.

      though Judas Priest is awesome, this is clearly not them, for one, the name says "PanterA" not to mention the guy on the right is clearly Vincent Paul Abbot. pluss the guitar work, sounds and looks like Dimebag Darrel Abbot to me(on the left). the last two are Rex and Philip. though i can see where you get the whole Judas vibe, they are a four piece with a grungy sound, same as Judas. but they are much younger. never the less, this is an epic album all the way through. not much can compare to the Legendary Dimebag!

    I used to see these guys at The Basement in Dallas back in the 80's. There was stage diving and a big ass mosh pit every time. The guys threw the metal DOWN and Phil's voice was huge. I believe this was their 3rd album and some old cunt was telling me how "bands who release 3 local albums without being signed to a major label could pretty much hang it up". I was so pissed. I went to a ton of concerts back then and I truly believed Pantera was a s good as anybody touring. A few years later, they were the biggest metal band in the world. I almost fainted when i heard about Dime and I wept when I heard about Vinny. Those were two very cool, VERY hard-working musicians. Brothers in a metal band....could you pick a better life? Viva Pantera!!!

    this album is gold. it's almost a tribute album to classic heavy metal sound. I hear just very talented young guys who trying to sound like their childhood heroes on this album. and it's awesome. afterwards, they quickly developed their sound and found their own style. I just wish phil and rex could have reconciled with vinnie prior to this. He was one of the hardest hitting drummers didnt have tons of flash but did not need it. His drumming was a huge part of the pantera sound. It was unthinkable they could ever reunite without dime. But now it will absolutely never happen. R.I.P. Vinnie Paul

    • @hellfire8883
      @hellfire8883 Рік тому

      @@scottroberts7103 I never thought it was possible. Vinnie and Dime were Pantera...or at least 2/3 of the dynamic sound. Rex's bass while great is probably the most replaceable. The main thing is I don't think it's right without dime because of how special he is. The uniqueness of his overall style and sound is a huge part of Pantera . He is not a replaceable guy. Plus Im not a fan of zakk wylde. While I love dimes pinch harmonics, dive bombs and all of the other ph + wammy bar work, i can't say the same for zakk. He simply over uses ph. He generally doesn't accompany them with awesome wammy bar work and so it gets straight up annoying when you hear his trademark squeal every 3-5 seconds. Anyway I need to listen to more, but from the lil ive heard the shows it sounds like he is toning down his normal schtick and trying to emulate and do his best to respect Dime. I also think that without phil it wouldn't work either. Though thats the thing though, they still have the main vocalist and bassist. There are tons of bands that have 1 or sometimes zero original or well known members (phil is technically not the original vocalist, although he's the only one most ppl have ever know unless your a Terry Glaze era fan.) Regardless of how ppl feel about the reunion ppl are still attending to get to see the songs performed with phil n rex. Charlie is a pretty decent drummer but he doesn't really remind me of Vinnie. Maybe they should've billed it as a celebration of pantera. I know some want it to be called a tribute but you have basically 2 original members because phil is original to the Pantera everyone knows.
