Original is better. I don’t like it when in remakes they change the music just to change something because “in a good remake, everything needs to be redone.” Work for work's sake. For me, it’s better to leave the original music, which is almost always better, or re-record it with a higher bitrate. In the Resident Evil remakes 2 and 4 the new music is not memorable at all. Police station theme for example, heaven and earth.
Just the character creation is enough to show how little they cared about the original, it was a cash grab, art, esthetics, themes, lighting, enemy design, music, sounds... all inferior they just had more polygons and higher resolution. The mentality of "I can do better I am not going to be loyal to the creator's desires" you didn't do better in anything.
this and the original have two very different feels, but i can respect both in their own right.
