Single target high damage weapons that would never really work with blast, but use sickening pulse and take it to max stacks to nuke. The old system was so garbage I didn't even want to think about it and just spammed viral for everything, but now it's much more straight forward for which element works best for which enemy type.
The only thing about this status rework that upsets me is how DE changed it so that status effects no longer inherit your affecting weapon’s or ability’s energy color.
I think Pablo intended it for the good of the game. Ofc course it would be better if it was one toggle option (they could simply use the same tech of colorblind options). Probably inexperienced players finally understand better visually what status effect effect is applied even tho it seems a bit redundant as there alre already the symbols for the status effects on enemies. Blast has become my favorite Status type since the rework! The same interaction with melee influence sharing all the blast procs can be achived for primarys as well by modding for blast and punch through or by using blast on AoE weapons. It‘s so cool!
Even with the blast rework, I still like gas proc as it's the only d.o.t. in the game that can hit other enemies after the host dies. I just wish the gas cloud was naturally bigger or it hits faster.
Or have the cloud modable, like the blast radius mods firestorm for example could increase both blasts and the gas radius in addition to the radial attacks some weapons have

Their reason to change faction weaknesses was to make it less confusing, saying that there's too many health types to juggle elements for. But honestly I feel like there's far more element juggling now... Before it was just either to bypass shields, or bypass armor and maybe a specialized build for murmur on a few guns, just 3 loadouts, for odd enemies that didn't require anything bypassed simply having more damage just worked. I haven't tested extensively yet, as I'm catching up on Duviri right now, but what I've noticed is that even regular infested and defence-stripped enemies die noticeably slower without correct elements... Also, what do you think is the new best progenitor element? I've still got guns to farm :/
Depends on the weapon, magnetic is now an even better choice for weapons you want max galvanized aptitude stacks on for example, toxin is still good for making easy corrosive / viral setups - cold will now see more usage thanks to blast being buffed etc.
You can also use Gauss's third ability with its augment, thermal transfer. Thermal sunder buff funny. Ability can armor strip with gauss, room nuke, and give blast damage to weapons
Be careful with that. It combines with modded and innate elements in a funky way. I forget how it works, but you can end up with gas + cold if you have modded toxin for instance.
the next stage in elemental builds will come when the game allows players to block or manually combine elements in the build exemple: there are guns that have a innate element i would like to be able to not combine elemental mods with one or another so its possible to have 4 base elements on the same weapon which are toxin, heat , cold and electric this would solve several weapons builds that require you to use a combination of elements in order to make it work.
It should also be stressed the sheer difference in damage output vs armoured enemies now, which makes the consideration of green shards for corrosive stacks a bit more questionable. Where before enemy armour could block like 98 or 99% of damage, now it can only block 90%. On the surface, that's already like a 5-10x damage boost to us in endurance content already, with the difference only growing as the levels get higher in the new system vs the old... but that also means that the difference between current max armour and current minimum armour is way, way smaller to boot. Even if you fully strip all enemy armour, that's still only a 10x damage bonus at maximum, no matter how high levels are. Compared to full strips before the system change, which could be 100x damage or more depending on how far into endurance you are, you're getting a whole lot less out of the act of full-stripping than you were before. On top of that, due to the way that enemy armour scaling has been changed, the actual amount of damage reduction offered by any given point of armour has ALSO been adjusted, to even out the damage reduction percentage spread and make it less bottom-heavy. An example given is that 10 corrosive procs now essentially strip enemies from 90% damage reduction to 40% damage reduction. From there, you would get, at best, a 1.667x damage bonus from full strips.
as i was listening, you mentioned the note on the halikar being good as i was using the Wolf Sledge with the new melee arcane (really, really fun btw) and i realized... "wait, this is doing blast as well" and i can confirm, it deletes enemies with the electricity thing as well. i just wish it didn't send enemies on the express flight to the other side of the planet every time i used the explosion, but frames with grouping effects like Nidus and Vauban can back me up on that
@@Unified-Codex You basically have to either use melee prowes and 60/60 electric mod for 100% status chance, or weeping wounds + electric mod that gives combo efficiency if using rauta or panzer with tandem bond Asside from that, there is actually no weapon in game that force procs blast procs. Simply because how useless they were before the update that even the devs didn't both with giving it as a gimmick feature.
questions for the testing nerds 1:when you say 200 minimum armor that means base? meaning a butcher no longer gets striped in 1 hit by shattering impact? 2: does corrosive still ignore 50% of armor while still dealing 50% more dmg? couldn't find anything in the wiki 3: lovely saryn fashion!
I've been using magnetic on my tenet glaxion on SP Ascension and it melts the eximus too (magnetic does extra damage to overguard too) as well. I noticed that viral stacks still increase the damage that basically any enemy takes to their "health" (murmur, corpus, infested, grineer, whatever). Corpus eximus when they have applied on them viral and magnetic literally melt away as if they were butter. I also use Silence (subsumable) from Banshee to nullify the eximus abilities on Lavos with Valence Formation so I can get viral on every weapon I built for Magnetic. The electric status effect when destroying shields with magnetic literally oneshots corpus enemies when they have viral on them. Just be careful NOT to strip away shields with abilities such as Ophanim Eyes or other defenses strip abilities from Nyx, Protea, Qorvex otherwise the electric proc won't take place neither when destroying Overguard nor Shields
I'm happy for all people that liked the new status, in my case is different, i really liked the old status, simple and on point, it's a matter of getting used to but some interactions like the heat with kuva grinner is XD in my opinion.
corrosive cold seems like a good combo now rather than just corrosive heat on frames you have emerald shards on for weapons like the torid incarnon, which like the crit damage buff
4:25 OK real quick though IN WHAT WORLD would you replace Saryn's 4?! Seriously, why? Yes, gloom is good on every frame, but if you're going lose out on one of Saryn's abilities why would you replace the ability that spreads roomwide viral and helps spread her spores over her ability that is comparable to Loki's decoy? I don't even play Saryn and that makes me angry!
Because her 4 really isn't that good. It inflicts a singular viral proc, so it's only really useful for maintaining spores. Even still, her 3 can do that just as well with any aoe weapon. As for replacing her 2, you don't want to do that because it status strips on top of being a panic button and insta cast, which makes it a very good ability for shieldgating. If you got rid of that, you'd then need to put on Rolling Guard for status strip, which would effectively waste a mod slot.
I can see why you might think that but Molt provides far more utility with its speed buff and status cleanse - miasmas damage is irrelevant and I can spread viral and her spores regardless
when you play saryn you quickly learn that the 4 is objectively her worse ability, we get viral from everywhere nowadays, the cc is nice but with a 2 up you don't really get hit (the 2 is one of the best defensive tools) , you spread spores instantly just playing the game with her 3 active, it's expensive to cast, freeing up energy modding for more range or strength
Cold got a nice simplification. Crit dmg is good vs any faction and the status itself doesn't do dmg so you can offload the application to a companion and if you're using it on a weapon you can just go for pure cold crit. It's a nice brain-off option for people who don't want to deal with building around factions. All of the Warframes that had cold application were already crit based.
Tbh The new damage is much clearer As someone who only plays ocassionally I never understood the damage types and interactions Now it's much easier to read and makes for WAAAAY better new player experience
(I'm MR26 if that matters at all) So seeing as im very casual who just ran viral slash on most weapons, i wanna figure out how to setup my weapons properly so its inline with current patch, where tf do i begin? Im not asking for meta setups but a general baseline for weapon builds because i barely understood it before patch
Wait so grineer are weak to impact now instead of puncture while corpus are weak to puncture instead of impact? Is that intentional? Why’d they flip their resistances?
They said it "felt more in line with their themes" also since corpus are typically weaker, they felt the status effect of impact wasn't able to be utilized as easily since they died to fast compared to grineer to benefit from the parazon kills. (Impact procs allow you to mercy kill enemies sooner)
Blast is best with snipers, weapon that was before useless in most game modes(except eidlon). Weapon which was single target now one shots everything in aoe.
Sevagoths reap/sow combo: I can't tell if it does an actual blast proc because it does all those weird consume mechanics. But if it does, with the new augment?? Sounds dope
7:55 "The forced proc that Halikar ... is a Blast proc" But wait, Halikar (and Wraith) according to Wiki doesn't force-proc Blast but rather Impact, and I can't get it to proc Blast in Simulacrum either, just Impact. (unmodded) It does 100% Blast DAMAGE on Thrown Explosion but not a forced Blast Proc. What?
Idk if it’s me, but I think gas got a mini buff. I have a Cycron with toxin element so I have innate gas. I modded the weapon with magnetic for corpus. I also have a Cycron with heat element. For some reason my gas magnetic Cycron does more damage than a heat magnetic Cycron. The percentages for the toxin and heat are both 40%. Someone explain please.
I've already had issues with not enough enemies spawning in for my Saryn and Wisp builds in higher level content. This is just going to make the game boring.
@@Unified-Codex Ehh, thats debatable, dot dmg scales off of the inital hit, which is not going to be way higher because of less dmg reduction, especially if we 98% strip them.
@@KipacWF It's not debatable, because I specified "for armor strip builds". If you are stripping armor either way and previously taking all armor away left 100k health, and now it leaves 400k health, they are tankier. Also even with armor this is not the case in all DoT situations, slash already ignores armor so again, more health means they are tankier. Also, I didn't say "for DoT" builds, I just stated they were tankier with raw health now vs before as a whole.
For me bonus damage to armored target was allways little stupid. If target have 1500 armour and 50% damage reduction with that 1k hp target becomes technicly 2k and minus 90% of that aka 45% subtraction from 50% to 5% damage so even that 5% was getting 75% bonus damage vs armored target but that 1k HP with 5% dmg reduction is technicly 1050HP but full strip still is better cos You don't need to worry about having that leftover 10% armour at very high values and still chew trough it like bullet spongue. At small values or Tau Emerald with 98% strip mayby works but at low values pure dmg is not hard to get. And that 75% should be worth it right? Still i think naked target is better plus mayby some viral for that bonus damage. What am i yapping about? I don't know. Felt the need to say that somewhere. Only my opinion and propabbly not the best choise. Also Awesome Video and have a wonderfull day for everyone!

the next stage in elemental builds will come when the game allows players to block or manually combine elements in the build exemple: there are guns that have a innate element i would like to be able to not combine elemental mods with one or another so its possible to have 4 base elements on the same weapon which are toxin, heat , cold and electric this would solve several weapons builds that require you to use a combination of elements in order to make it work.
I didnt now that corpus were bugged like that jezz my god no wonder they were harder to kill than grineer
as i was listening, you mentioned the note on the halikar being good as i was using the Wolf Sledge with the new melee arcane (really, really fun btw) and i realized... "wait, this is doing blast as well" and i can confirm, it deletes enemies with the electricity thing as well. i just wish it didn't send enemies on the express flight to the other side of the planet every time i used the explosion, but frames with grouping effects like Nidus and Vauban can back me up on that
Oh yea, its nasty!
One thing regarding halikar. It doesn't apply forced blast procs on its AoE, even wiki says it doesn't. It applies forced impact instead.
Yes! This has been pointed out to me, regardless it performs amazingly well!
@@Unified-Codex
You basically have to either use melee prowes and 60/60 electric mod for 100% status chance, or weeping wounds + electric mod that gives combo efficiency if using rauta or panzer with tandem bond
Asside from that, there is actually no weapon in game that force procs blast procs. Simply because how useless they were before the update that even the devs didn't both with giving it as a gimmick feature.
questions for the testing nerds
1:when you say 200 minimum armor that means base? meaning a butcher no longer gets striped in 1 hit by shattering impact?
2: does corrosive still ignore 50% of armor while still dealing 50% more dmg? couldn't find anything in the wiki
3: lovely saryn fashion!
Great tips!
I’ve been modding my primaries for blast now. Reeeeeeeeee. Pew pew pew.
I feel this change would bring dear weapon called Pox, back into the meta. Mix that with saryn once more. Epic
I'm happy for all people that liked the new status, in my case is different, i really liked the old status, simple and on point, it's a matter of getting used to but some interactions like the heat with kuva grinner is XD in my opinion.
deep inside, i knew i had to keep my halikar and it's riven, 2 months ago when i got it :)
Orb effectiveness is a must for shards for me
They should let us reforma weapons with how much this changed. Guess my guns are going to need to be completely remodified again.
Should test out a magnetic, corrosive blast kuva nukor with secondary fortify. Its insane
corrosive cold seems like a good combo now rather than just corrosive heat on frames you have emerald shards on for weapons like the torid incarnon, which like the crit damage buff
Yeah i can tell you dont play saryn alright. Or even understand for that matter
I can see why you might think that but Molt provides far more utility with its speed buff and status cleanse - miasmas damage is irrelevant and I can spread viral and her spores regardless
literally can replace it with anything roar xata nourish shock
u have a ton of options
when you play saryn you quickly learn that the 4 is objectively her worse ability, we get viral from everywhere nowadays, the cc is nice but with a 2 up you don't really get hit (the 2 is one of the best defensive tools) , you spread spores instantly just playing the game with her 3 active, it's expensive to cast, freeing up energy modding for more range or strength
I'm very upset that i transmuted a halicar riven i had. This was a few years ago but damn.
True pain
btw, Halikar has an impact force proc, not blast... just checked the wiki
Very good points!
It almost feels like it's 2019 again. I get surprisingly good results from corro/heat or blast/heat setups.
Blast proc giving me flashbangs
I was thinking the same!
Tbh
The new damage is much clearer
As someone who only plays ocassionally I never understood the damage types and interactions
Now it's much easier to read and makes for WAAAAY better new player experience
I can see your point for sure!
Nice, was waiting for this one
Enjoy!
Brother my saryn was already strong enough 😂
that magnetic damage buff brought back old mag. Those detonations from Polarize make copus/void missions 1 button farm fests.
How tasty
great video! thanks for the info!
Glad you liked it!
very informative, have my subscrible
You just earned a new subscriber
Glad to hear it!
Blast is what gas wishes it was. RIP viral
Imagine melee on enemies with no AI and still don't know it counts as a crit damage till you interact with interface again
I wonder how this effects Elemental Frames like Frost,Ember,Volt,Gyre,Lavos,Wisp… etc.
How do I make this room in the dojo? I want to test my builds out before I go on missions
Its called the simulacrum, its not in the dojo - you get access to it from cephalon simaris
I have watched this 7 times, I still do not understand how to build a single thing
Total noob question.Would this change make magnetic the new king for Kuva/Tenet weapons? Or how do I now decide the progenitor?
Magnetic is substantially better now yes
Just use quorvec wrecking wall to strip armor it is amazing
Good video, finally made it clear for me.
Most builds that worked before should still be ok, although definitely use pure toxin for corpus not slash
Sounds dope
it does not proc blast
most abilitys that do blast dmg doesnt proc blast
Bro your content is great keep it up !!
BLAST IS CRAZY
C O R R E C T
Mag going to be crazy
Lavos players, how we feeling about Blast infused Catalyze
do you know that one stock image of the dinosaurs getting exploded by a meteor? it kinda feels like that.

"The forced proc that Halikar ... is a Blast proc"
But wait, Halikar (and Wraith) according to Wiki doesn't force-proc Blast but rather Impact, and I can't get it to proc Blast in Simulacrum either, just Impact. (unmodded)
It does 100% Blast DAMAGE on Thrown Explosion but not a forced Blast Proc.
What?
I may have mis spoke! It definitely puts out blast though as seen
Bruuh.. no wonder the corpus been surviving 3million damage. They are bugged
new blast is kinda good, if you can group enemies
Oh yes!
Mach Crash Gauss gonna be fun
Will you do a video about the recent changes on Frost? That would be dope! Great video I love it
Your wish is being granted soon!
Are you telling me that i can PROCC INFLUENCE WITH MAGNETIC? DAMN MY AGENDUS WILL DESTROY
ive tried and it is hard to even see if it does but i dont think it does
honestly not a big fan of the faction wide damage multipliers, it dumbs the game down and removes the slight amount of realism the game still had.
Essentially, they took the element system that railjack used and tossed it into normal play? Am I correct or am I missing something.
should test eidelons and see what’s up with them now is my suggestion
They should take increased radiation and cold as they are sentients so your builds shouldn't change
nice meta shift by de i like it
Idk if it’s me, but I think gas got a mini buff.
Are cold procs bugged? At least with frosts abilities, some enemies stay frozen for the full status duration, and others thaw out much quicker
frost has a new passive
which increases cold duration by 100% and gives him 50 armour per enemy affected by cold within 15m
@@lag00n54 yeah I understand that's what the text reads, not that's not what actually happens. That's why I'm asking if it's bugged
so in other words, weapons/abilities with statuses are the meta now?
Status was always good, but there is definitely different considerations to be made now with some of the resistance / vulnerability shifts.
I've already had issues with not enough enemies spawning in for my Saryn and Wisp builds in higher level content. This is just going to make the game boring.
Finally, the new "Stug Meta"
YO MY GUY IS THAT A GLAVE BOOMIE SKIN (I hope DE will re-release it like Deimos Tribute Pack)
INDEED IT IS
So does this mean even lvl cap monsters have cap of 2700 armor?
Correct! Armor is capped, health continues to rise
@@Unified-Codex Well, idk how to feel about this, they just made grineer a whole lot weaker, there goes the challange..
@@KipacWF Technically for armor strip builds they are actually tougher, since raw health went up
@@Unified-Codex Ehh, thats debatable, dot dmg scales off of the inital hit, which is not going to be way higher because of less dmg reduction, especially if we 98% strip them.
So with the blast effects could the wolf sledge get pretty meta?
It’s much better now yes
@Unified-Codex what kinda build you think would work the best for later game stuff
"Bad boys?"
-Messi
Wait I thought Gal aptitude is cap at +80% additive to rifling...but U told me 5 status*2*40% fr ?
Yes its 80% per status
Update broke greedy pull, it no longer does anything
How odd. but I'm sure they will fix it!
