This presentation is part of the PPE from A to Z series designed to help health care personnel understand and make informed decisions about the personal protective equipment (PPE) available in their facilities.
    PANELISTS:
    Jill Morgan, RN - Moderator
    Jill Morgan is a nurse at Emory University Hospital. She has been on Emory's biocontainment team for over 15 years where she has cared for patients with Ebola virus disease and Lassa fever. Jill is co-lead for the PPE work group for NETEC and has recently been appointed to the National Academies Committee on Personal Protective Equipment and Workplace Safety and Health.
    Brooke Henriksen, BSN, RN, CCRN
    Brooke Henriksen is the Training and Education Coordinator for the Special Pathogens Program in Region 10 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital (PSHMC&CH) in Spokane, Washington. She is a co-chair of the NETEC PPE work group. Brooke is also a member of the NETEC Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) work group and the Biocontainment Unit (BCU) work group.
    Ryan Thatcher, MSN, RN, CMSRN
    Ryan Thatcher is a Clinical Educator for the Corewell Health Special Pathogen Unit, where he focuses on training and educating clinical team members to care for patients infected with high-consequence pathogens. Alongside his work in civilian health care, Ryan serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve. With two deployments in the past nine years, he fulfills the crucial roles of a medical-surgical nurse and detachment leader, demonstrating his commitment to serving both his country and the medical profession. At NETEC, Ryan is a member of the PPE work group.
    Angela Vasa, MSN, RN
    Angela Vasa is the Director of Isolation and Quarantine programs at Nebraska Medicine. She serves as the Director of Consulting Services and Metrics Development at NETEC and is the Program Director for the Region 7 RESPTC. Angela is also a scholar at the Global Center for Health Security at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her nursing background includes over a decade of clinical experience with specialized expertise in the areas of trauma, critical care, solid organ transplant, and high-consequence infectious diseases. She joined the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit team in 2009 and continues to be an active clinical member while serving as the program director.
