@@olegiezer i own a Kaos pad. N traktor scratch pro 2. Incredibly enough.. it's I use it to filter samples with it. The Kaos has too many features to choose from. By far... you have push the machines intended use far beyond anyone else... my opinion.
HOLY S&IT BRAD ......What a WICKED Way to utilise the kp3 .. ive had one for just over a year now and love it to bits BUT NOW After seeing THIS I Nearly WeT Myself i have a large Dawless synth setup and havent yet figured out how to sync the kp3 .,, i just use it like a vinyl im mixing into the next track by manual beat matching ..and have become quite good at it ,, but would be handier to sync it to my MC 707 which is the Braine of my setup GREAT VID Brad
thats Sick ! i was already Midi synced up cause im syncing 5 DAWS at once some times with help from my MPC ... but i didnt know i could use my KP3 to control Traktor lol but Duh ! my head was just in another place , like i could use my ipad to control traktor or my keyboard has knobs ya know or ill just click lol .. cuz im a producer , but thanks man cool video

great stuff, how are you getting the 5pin din into the KP3, have you a usb mIDI converter box? i started with Final Scratch when it first came out , unfortunaltely my XDJ100xz doesnt support Traktor , only Serato and Rekordbox which are so far behind the MIDi clock thing it is embarassing. cheers
hi so just a couple of questions . so you have gone into the general kp3 editor with the disc that comes with it and changed the kp3 set up in there to allow your efect chanels to be essentially used as sliders? ie channel 1 controls effect 1 and you slider your finger up and down for dryto wet ? and secondly now that you have done all off this cna you easily switch back to vinyl or what ever you may be using on the fly and have the kaoss padd work as it normally would with factory settings , ? also lastly i have a vestax pmc 05 pro IV mixer which already has some midid contorls built in what i want to achive is when i use vinyl , i want to use the kp3 as per nomral internal effects , then when i use traktor i want to use the midi controll buttons on my mixer and the kp3 as extra middi contols as on my mixer i only have 24 control banks ?
Yes, the KP3 Editor allows you to choose how the controls are layed out. My midi mapping is designed to work with pattern 4 in the editor( 8 sliders up and down). Pretty sure the mapping wouldn't work on other variations cause the position of the sliders change in each setting. I send a link in a doc file to another video that is helpful in setting up the KP3 for Midi control as well as the TSI file. I also send a explanation of keyboard settings that I use as well that are included in the mapping. there are two different midi applications being used here. The first is MIDI control which works through the usb connector and the second is MIDI clocking. The second feature will require a 5 pin midi cable fed out of your traktor setup into the KP3. I have an Audio 8 that already has that cable. If you have that cable installed you will need to set the clock to external on the KP3 and also enable midi clock on Traktor. I show this at 1:25 in the video. I hope this is helpful. If you are needing the file I will need your email address.

Mainly I'm just curious if I can use the kp3 as an fx processor but also use the ABCD buttons on the bottom since those r really the only midi buttons I need

Thats not so bad though because you can easily switch from midi to hardware with one button, manipulating it back and forth. At 8:25 you can see that I switch it from Midi to Hardware using the shift button.

Sorry man. TSI mapping are designed strictly for Traktor. You should be able to map Serato for it though as it would show up as a generic midi device. Good luck. Because I am not running Serato I am not able to help.
Dude, i just got the kp3 but i dont know how to connect it, i have the Pioneer XDJ-R1 and it doesnt have an effect send and return, it just have an auxiliar, how is your KP3 connected? i dont want to control traktor i want to add fx on whats sounding on traktor like you did on the minute 9:00 of the video, please help!
Fernando Mayorga Hey Fernando, just saw your comment as youtube has been setting my comments to Top comments instead of newest first so yours was hidden. My apologies. W/O having a send/return you will need to run your main output into the receive and run the send on the KP3 out to your speakers. Also make sure the switch on the back is set to "thru" Take into account that volume levels on the KP3 as well as your mains and Channels on your controller all effect you overall output in this kind of setup.
I will send you my mapping if you like. Then all you need to do is load the TSi file on to Traktor. It sounds like you already have the KP3 where it is sending signal to Traktor but it is important that you go into your KP3 editor and change the behavior of the pads to coincide with my mapping. There are many options in the Editor but the one you need for my mapping makes sliders( up and down) in each column. send me your address and I will hook you up.

The Traktor Audio 8 sound Card has a 5 pin din in/out. 👍🏼✌🏼
Also the KP3 has a 5 pin midi, so it’s a 1 to 1 cable

Does the midi input to the Kp3 only work thru a traditional MIDI cable or does it work via USB too?

Since I was doing this with Traktor it was fairly easy because the Audio 8 interface I used has a 5 pin midi out connector
