Thank you so much for all you do. I was shooting a bow for a few years before I found your channel. That means I did zero tinkering and knew almost nothing about my bow and arrows. Whatever the shop gave me is what I used. Never knew to tune my broadheads so I only used mechanicals… once I started learning from your channel, it’s changed how I look at shooting and hunting. I’ve come a long way. I’m now getting ready to try tuning my own bow… which means I need more tools to tinker. Thanks for everything! Much love from Texas!🙌🏼💜🙏🏼
Dude you made it the 100k I was actually reading my emails for once and seen your success, man if I was to be that lucky subscriber I can't even put it into words how I would feel, you would just have to see the excitement and thankfulness that I have for you, keep killing it brother and thanks for everything.
Dan this content is great. Love the addition of Jeff. He seems to bring the fun out of you. Lots more joking and not so serious all the time, although I know elk hunting is serious business.
In Matthews 6:33-34 Jesus reminds us of the importance of living for the present day. It isn’t wrong to remember the past or plan for the future; to some degree both of those are good. Yet it is easy to become to focused on either side the past or the future and let the day and its own opportunities be ignored. God wants us to remember the past plan for the future, but live in the present. Two good dude’s parted ways, none of which either are still talking about. Mind us that is their past, in their present they are putting out knowledge that gives an awareness for other archers future. Our present is growing in awareness and attaining knowledge to make us better archers and bow hunters. I appreciate and salute anyone who lowers the ladder down for others by teaching what was taught to them. Stop robbing your present and writing off your future by worrying about someone else’s life. Because if you’re doing it here it’s probably demonstrated in your own life. God bless, Matthews 6:27” And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”
Hey Dan, I appreciate the shout-out. I've been trying to get my reps in, but recently got tendonitis in my elbow so I had to rest it. I'll be getting back into it soon! Keep it up!
As I watched this video I’m in my basement shooting my bow and refletching 3 arrows. 40 mph winds today so practicing form in the basement. Did get a 1 1/12 mile ruck in today. Doing your own arrows is the way to go with. Have my shop cut my arrows and I do the rest. Always tinkering 🏹🏔️🌲
I love them, I’m Running Easton sonics 50 grain brass inserts, wraps blazers 3 degree right helical, nocturnals. 412 grain total weight. Love them. I was fortunate enough to harvest 5 deer this season. 3 with g5 dead meat and 2 with a grim reaper razor tip. 4 pass through and one grim didn’t completely pass through. I’m shooting a rx7 origin limbs black riser, 28.5 draw 64lbs. You have inspired me to start arrow builds and I love it. Gives you a great feeling of pride once you harvest something with an arrow you’ve built from the ground up. Thanks for sharing Dan.
Congrats Dan on 100k, once again a great video for the tinkering folks on the CBE setup and adjustments. Also nice to see the Dark Owl scope fits on the UVslider.
Noticed Luna. I trained my yellow lab Cassidy early in her life. She always sits or lays down behind me when I’m shooting. She sees me with my bow, here she comes. Love practicing with her.
My dog goes nuts when she sees my bow, she about went through the door window one time when i lwft her inside. She absolutely loves to come out with me every time i shoot. It’s kinda nice to have company.
For any sighting in, I like the horizontal and vertical lines method versus shooting at a target. I seem to get better results with tapes afterwards. If Jeff is having what you'd call a natural cant, you can move the first axis at full draw and it wouldn't affect 2nd or 3rd.
I'm using, the 6MM, Sonic Arrows, the 125 gr. Field Points but with, the New Bohning X-3, THREE Inch Vanes, 3 Degree Helical, 3 Vanes with, Left Clocking. I will be using, the 125 grain, Grim Reaper 3 Bladed, Micro Hades for, Big Game as IT's,.. Sharp, TOUGH and, Flie's,.. Awesome !
I've had the same problems recently too and been messing with it. I'm thankful that you're making a video to help me with my problems as well or just maybe make me realize something that I'm like aha!
I can't wait to get one of those pouches there. I'm excited. I've been looking at those every time you shoot. I'm glad you're doing a little video on it because I wasn't sure what kind it was or anything about it really
I took your advice on running the landslyde last year. The amount of screws, all of different sizes, is astonishing. It did survive hunting, but I have regrets.
Congrats on 100k. I find it easier to adjust my cbe sight by turning the bow sideways to unscrew those small screws. String horizontally and close to the body to get first two outside screws and then flip up so the sight goes up then flip towards the body to get the other screws and the whole sight will not fall off and makes its easy to tap one way or the other.
Dan, Congrats on 100k! I recently learned about creating your own arrow wraps. Went to Michaels and bought 6 sheets of 12"x12" Oracal 651, exacto with extra blades, cutting board, and straight edge. "Easily" create custom-cut wraps with minimal overlap. I know you've got some partnerships and probably pay little to nothing for them but for the blue-collar guy trying to make his budget go as far as possible, $15 for a dozen 1"x6" wraps ($1.25/wrap) vs $1.66 two dozen of the same size ($0.07/wrap; does not include cost of knife, blades, cutting board, or straight edge = ~$25). It'd be cool to see it here or on the ElkshapeGear channel. Might not get much from affiliations but maybe Michaels or Hobby Lobby want to break into the outdoor industry lol
Good call on the Sonic. I recently went from RIP TKO Elite, VF TKO Elite, to the Sonic Match Grade. Sonic is not as durable but I have really been happy with them. Do NOT like the outsert at all. Hit is okay but internal components with a flange over the end of the arrow is just the best.
Dan, from what I’ve learned, On the HHA you should have been matching the sight bubble to the rail. Not your string. If the sight bubble matches the rail, that is all that matters, the bow can be canted and still shoot.
I would like you guys to do a breakdown on the6.5 Easton 300 spine arrows. I just got into bow hunting they are cheap but would like to know the trade offs compare to the other lines available
Good shooting and setup that you have there. I like that he went with the Sonics 6.0s which is a new arrow to the channel. Pretty interesting 🧐 how Easton can make a 8.8 GPI 6 mill arrow but their famous 5 mm Axis are 10.7.
Hey Brother. Just wanted to say congratulations on the 100k subscriber milestone. It's definitely been a fun and educational ride. Looking forward to seeing what you bring for the next 100k. #ABT
I’ve been shooting my bow for about 4 months now and I’m having such a hard time sighting it in. Because I’m so new to compound archery I feel like I’m chasing a ghost. It took me 4 arrows to hit what I was aiming at 60 yards. Put my tape on and my still short on my 60 but I hit it right before I put the tape on. Ugh. So much for a tac event next month for me. Ugh. My 20 yard is good though 😂😂
Love to see the 100K. Curious how you attach other scopes to the Slider. Not a fan of the UV3 myself but like the sight, minus the windage adjustment. Also in the ElkShape shot sense group but can't see anyone in the groups stats for some reason.
Hi Dan, I love your videos! I have learned so much. I currently am building some rip tko arrows for my mathews lift. I just tried clocking the arrows before I fletch. I have arrows clocking left and right? I have never had this happen before. They usually all clock the same. Any input would be great, thanks.
I love watching your vids 😊but I don’t miss all the gadgets 👍shooting trad only now it amazes me how I use to do all that stuff. But a trouble stick isn’t easy but rewarding 🎉
I found a spacer to install behind the HHA dovetail in the bridgelock to make the rail level then set my 2nd axis and 3rd and i no longer get the random left and rights
When you ran the uv slider, what are/where you getting for arrow clearance. My sight tape is way down on the sight tape bar. My bottom pin max’s at 90 before I run out. Shooting a lift 29.5 at 70 lb 29” draw. Arrows weigh roughly 470-480 (not exactly sure) what do I need to adjust for more clearance?
I'm getting 140 yards easy... My draw length is technically 26.5, 75# mods at 80% with an Easton Axis Long Range that weights 446 grains... Lighten up your arrows, grow longer arms, move your peep up, add more poundage... Thanks! -Dan
@@ElkShape if I could grow longer arms I think I’d add it somewhere else… wait am I allowed to say that. Sounds like it’s time to try a different arrow. I figured my victory vap ss would be changed soon also figured I need to raise my peep but got to tweak with my anchor point some more
CBE also needs to come out with extended range site tapes like on their three pin slider. The site tape should start at 40 yards, not 20 yd because 20 30 40 will already be covered by the pins
Spot on.... Easton Sonic is a great arrow, and perfect for TAC... but 6mm!!!!! Dang it Easton, make this in 5mm and you'll steal 1/2 the Victory customers

Um .. gold tip hunter on Amazon are 67.00 a dozen .. cut both ends equal for your length . Most will be .002”. 100gr brass insert, 100 head. Whitewater wrap and 2.25 tac vanes . Perfect!! All for sub 100 a dozen ..
You should spin test them and cut where you see rollout; might be equal from both ends, might be more one end than the other, might be only one end….but you’re on the right track.
The cam lean is not the same from at rest to full draw so why would I level my sight from the string? Once at full draw the cables pull everything towards the riser limb deflections are all different so top and bottom are being pulled unevenly.
