    As a Canes fan I have so much respect for Bobby Bowden, I wish the Canes would've had a coach with the longevity as Bobby Bowden.

      Who cares. While Bowden was at FSU four Miami coaches won five titles.

      To act like fsu and those kicks couldn't have gone either way is ridiculous,you guys weir in the heavier talented area, plus if Bowden had y'all squads he would have won more then 4

      I totally agree. I bleed orange, green and white and to me, next to us FSU was the best team every year. I wish Jimmy would have stayed and had the longevity of Bobby Bowden at Miami. History happens!

    The Miami Florida State rivalry is better than Ohio State and Michigan cause the players were from the Sunshine State along with furture NFL Hall of Famers like Jim Kelly,Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, Derrick Brooks and Deion Sanders plus Head coaches Jimmy Johnson and Bobby Bowden the winner played for the national championship both were highly ranked and imagine how many more national championships that Florida State could have a two point try not failed in 1987 and two missed Field Goals back to back also in 2000 and 2002 missed field goals

    • @juliansmith1951
      @juliansmith1951 3 роки тому

      @Painpanther For Florida state it's always losing by 1 point to those damn Miami hurricanes and the heartbreak for Florida state those missed field goals

    • @juliansmith4352
      @juliansmith4352 3 роки тому

      @Painpanther It wasn't a rivalry when Michigan would always beat Ohio State in the 90s 3 times also in the 90s Michigan would spoil Ohio State chances of playing in the Rose Bowl in pasenda

      Michigan vs Ohio State 58-51-6
      Michigan leads
      Miami vs Florida State 35-31 Miami leads
      Draft picks
      Michigan-406
      Ohio State-491
      Florida State-292
      Miami-372
      Hall of famers
      Michigan: Pros- 11(ranks 3rd) College-31(3rd)
      Ohio State:Pros-10(ranks 4th) College-26(4th)
      Miami: Pros- 9(5th) College- 12( 24th)
      Florida State: Pros- 4(12th) College-7(38th)
      In all aspects the Ohio State Michigan rivalry is only behind Harvard-Yale and USC-ND rivalries in terms of all time talent produced. You can like Miami-FSU better but you're reason is wrong.
      And all of these schools have more championships than Miami and FSU as well

    • @FSUFootballman
      @FSUFootballman 2 роки тому

      Ok but REALLY man everybody in the country tunes in for Miami fsu even when they are not good. I don’t think many would watch pay Michigan if they had losing records. Football is just different in the south. As you can tell by the championships.

    • @jerrrentfor7646

      Friendly reminder OSU and Michigan both had at least a 50 year headstart on when the schools began fielding a football team so the stat totals aren't a good indicator on whom is better. I think a better one would be the outcome of our head to head matches such as when FSU turned the Big House into a little hut in 91. Remember T Buck shutting down ur Heisman winner then the more recent thriller in the bowl game.

    Miami/Florida State has/is the premier rivalry in all of college football. Yes, the teams have been down as of late but make no mistake - when these teams are in the top 10, every one is watching. Alabama and Georgia have climbed to the top but we will reclaim our status and dominate. TheU!

      They won two with Erickson. Thats as many as Schnellenberger combined. Asking this question without Erickson and in general is pointless.

      Don't forget about Butch

    • @alanrubenstein7618
      @alanrubenstein7618 4 роки тому

      Johnson or Schnellenberger and Butch for that matter would not have meant more titles. Erickson was great and won two which no one else at Miami has done before or since. Saying Jimmys players is meaningless and really false. By 1991 they were his players. Butch has not been a great coach anywhere else.

    • @anthonygonzalez9422
      @anthonygonzalez9422 3 роки тому

      @@alanrubenstein7618 Since you brought up Butch's future lack of coaching success as reason he wouldn't have created a dynasty, it seems pretty bizarre to think Jimmy, who built championship squads at both the college and pro level, wouldn't have. That '89 team was all upperclassmen across the depth chart recruited by JJ. Erickson's claim to fame was his offense and he clearly deserves sole credit for his '91 title. But by the end of his tenure, he had lost all control of the program. While the other coaches left early, we KNOW Erickson wasn't creating anything. There's no speculating about him, we saw what happened. Either sanctions or his heavy drinking and DUI's were going to get him canned at some point.
