  • The incident that happened between Miami and FIU in 2006, is one of the most infamous moments in college football history. It was total chaos... and it would end in 31 suspensions, a broadcaster being fired, and a moment of pure chaos that no one will forget.

that 2006 Miami team (and just Miami football from that era in general) was freakin' crazy, and not in a good way. In addition to everything he talks about in this video, Miami also saw one of their own players (Bryan Pata) get murdered during the season. The case was long unsolved but, 15 yrs later, they figured out that it was ONE OF HIS OWN MIAMI TEAMMATES who'd murdered him. Just absolute insanity.

Miami is a beautiful yet troubled place. The Hurricanes have been an accurate reflection of the area. They have had glorious moments and shameful ones. The problem with sinful pride is that it always comes crashing back down to earth, no matter how high it might have sent you for a brief moment. Miami, which just lost to FIU at the site of the Orange Bowl, is learning this lesson the hard way.

It’s not talked about because FIU was pulling shit the whole game and the refs did nothing. So our guys went out there after winning and then one of our guys gets tackled and punched so the rest brawled. The refs were at fault here, not the players. The U didn’t start or cause this fight, the U finished it.

@@SheLuvsItachi23 That 2001 Miami team was an NFL team. I think they had 10 or 11 future pro bowlers on it. I believe that was the best college team ever. They would have waxed Alabama, Clemson or LSU.
