    Great tips, my hair is almost waist length and ive grown mine out for almost 5 yrs. Def agree with thr fact that the longer you grow it out for the harder it is to tell the difference.
    Id say for anyone who wants long hair, like she said, you have to think in terms of years, not months or days. Like as far as 5 year or 10 year increments for some serious long hair.

    LOVE this video, and videos like this is SO important! The fact that you are focusing on growing healthy long hair instead of "just" long hair is great + explaining that it takes time. It seems like some people want it to happen over night. It is beyond important to understand that big, great things take long time :)

    My goal is tailbone length. It is currently between bsl and mid back. I do have lots of shorter hairs from layers I had about 2 years ago. I got so happy when my hair finally grew past my nipples! I currently use shikakai, aritha, and brahmi to wash my hair. Also a rye flour wash is a good way to add protein to your hair. I do s&d and sometimes it seems like I am trimming split ends on the same hairs each time although I doubt it lol.

      I like your natural/no poo approach. :) All of those herbs are so good for the hair! i have never tried a rye wash but heard good things about it. Happy to hear you are working hard on your goal length.

    When I was a 10/12 I had a classic length wavy hair and it was so stunning but my parents always struggled to take care so I had to cut it, now I'm at college and growing my hair again, this time knowing how to take care.
    Also, I'm so happy to find people with really long hair! I feel like every time I talk about really long hair people don't like it and honestly, I don't know why, it's so pretty and I feel like a princess, also I feel like having (at least curly/wavy) short hair takes more time than long hair.
    Your hair it's so pretty! very inspiring!

    Just started doing the split end trimming, and it has made a world of difference. My current length is 43 inches, I really want it colored, but I am terrified of the potential damage. My goal length is knee length, maybe just wait till then lol

    Very helpful tips, I agree the best things is avoiding heat. I have a request on how do you deal with thinning ends? My hair is classic length, but hair ends are thin. Also what type of hair brush or combs do you use? Thank you :-)

    • @naturallyantonia
      @naturallyantonia  5 років тому +1

      Hi Lisa, and thank you! Congrats on classic length, I know that takes many years to achieve! So thin ends could be caused by a few factors: 1. It could be damange (in this case trimming is the only way to fix it) 2. Could be gentic, some people's hair naturally tappers into fairy tail ends and it's hard from them to have a straight blunt cut, in this case u and v shaped hemlines add shape and thickness, could be due to illness (often thyroid/hormonal/endocrine and auto immune conditions (regular check ups are good) and lastly it could be you are nearing terminal (hair gets naturally thinner and starts to tapper when one has reached terminal, hopefully this is not the case so you can keep growing. I suggest getting small micro trims slowly to thicken up the ends over time. I wouldn't trim any more off than an half inch off at time so you can still grow your hair. I usually get two half inch trims a year. If you are trying to thicken up ends maybe do 3 or 4 quarter inch to half inch trims until you reach desired thickness. And as always checking your health with your doctor is important because it could be something medical. Also oil is a great for protecting ends. In the winter I like to use jojoba and argan oil on wet hair. After your shower the wet hair will seal in moisture. Good luck and happy growing!

      Hi Lisa, I use a plastic wide tooth comb, a wooden brush, and a boar bristle brush.

    You have very beautiful, thick and healthy long hair 😍😍😍. Are you growing it longer? How much longer? Btw, can i make a request? Can you post a video on
    1) how to make a bun without using any hair accessories
    2) about your hair history/timeline? Just a compilation of old photos would be nice

      djqruqnu Thank you! Your hair is very beautiful too, I just checked out your channel! I want to grow to terminal but have it look healthy. So I would def love to see how long it gets. I think knee to ankle would be maintenance length. The only bun I know you can do without accessories is the nautulis bun, but my hair is very slippery and silky so its hard to stay. And yes I can do a video about my hair history. :)

      @djqruqnu 5 років тому +1

      Antonia Miranda thankss but that hair was more than a year ago 😣😣😣!! Right now my hair's kind of thin at the ends as a result of a severe hairfall problem. Right now I'm in a phase of recovering my hair health back so that it will be as healthy and thick as it was before. I'm gonna maintain my hair at waist length to get back the desired thickness and health by then I'm gonna grow it back to my desired length. Ohh yeaa btw my desired length is also knee length 😂😂.

    Thanks for sharing your tips, they are very helpful! How do you secure your braid? I used to do it with an elastic but it killed my ends :/

    • @naturallyantonia
      @naturallyantonia  5 років тому +3

      Blandine M I use scrunchies. They are soft and non damanging. I also switch up my braid tails. Sometimes I secure with a short tail, medium tail, and my favorite long tail. Its good to change up the positioning of your braid scrunchies. Also if you do buns alternate between high, medium, and low buns. Same with ponytails. High ponytails become difficult at longer lengths, I usually stick with low ponytails because of less pulling.

    Hi :) if someone's hair is really damaged. I have hormone issues so my hair just grows thin and dead. Is it better to do one big chop to start again or to keep trimming the ends off? I know if I do the big chop it'll take forever to get back to this length, however growing thin, lifeless hair isn't ideal either :/

      @@naturallyantonia Thank you :) Do you mind me asking how old you are? Just in reference to taking a decade to grow your hair. I often see these videos done by women in their early twenties, meaning they started growing their hair as a teenager. While I'm still young (late twenties) I do worry that starting a hair journey going into my thirties won't be as successful as earlier years due to growth hormones and well everything seems to be easier physically when you're younger as your whole body is still growing.
