You've been asking for it for over a year, and it's finally here! This is my recap and explanation of all the most popular Lavendar Town theories and stories, including Lavendar Town Syndrome, Buried Alive, The Missing Frequencies, and Gary's Raticate. Enjoy!

I could see the original Lavender Town music possibly causing headaches in people. Sounds at different frequencies can cause funky things in people. But that's the extent of it. No way anyone committed suicide after listening to the song a few times.

The lavender Town themes headaches is due to the placebo effect. If you're told that it causes headaches, your body gives you a headache. Another example of the Placebo Effect is the medication effect. 6 people were ill, not fatal just a cold, 3 were given actual medication, but were told it wouldn't work, it didn't. On the other hand, the other patients were given a sugar pill and told it would work. They were healthy after a week.

well, with medication it doesnt work. for eample, if i were to give you a lethal injection, you had cancer, and i told you: "this will cure your cancer". it wouldnt. you would DIE. medication doesnt work like that. thoughts cant make a "madecation" work. that isnt how it works. you basically said: three people were ill and were given actual medication. but because of their THOUGHTS they were still ill. -OBJECTION that is impossible. a THOUGHT cannot make it so that you will still be ill. yes, you might believe that you are ill, but you wont ACTUALLY be ill. same the other way. if someone was ill, and given something that would "cure their cancer" but actually isnt a cure for cancer, their cancer WOULD NOT BE CURED. I REPEAT THOUGHTS CANT MAKE MEDICATION CHANGE. YES, THE MIGHT *BELIEVE* something BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT THAT SOMETHING IS TRUE. IDIOT
That Buried Alive wants to battle screenshot... I'm surprised it fooled anyone, because there's a very clear white square around the sprite of Buried Alive, showing that it's been edited in very easily.. unless that was JWittz using some screenshot he made or found online for a creepypasta

I watched this video for the first time when I was around 7/8, it scared me so badly I ran away and had to have my grandpa turn off the video. To this day, despite first hearing of how fake it was from the beginning and never playing any gen one game, I am still thoroughly scared of that corpse and the sprites.

I know, I really like occult things such a lavander town syndrome. I was able to locate the original green version sound track and even able to validate the frequencies do form unknown and the ghost. Now I love spooky sounding music of all so I love lavanders music so I kept it on my play list. I've had it over a two years now and just recently I have started to feel the systems. Not suicide but the headaches and nausea. I don't believe it affects more mature people, unless under prolong exposure.

This Lavender Town music thing is stupid. I'm under 15 and I love it, no headache, no nausea, and definitely no suicide. It would probably be number 2 on my list of favourite Pokémon songs, since my favourite is Nimbasa City's music in b2/w2.

My favorite is the driftveil city theme.
I'm inclined to think that you didn't kill your rival's Raticate, for a number of reasons:
1. He specifically mentions that he can't find any Marowak in the tower. Given that every time you meet, he talks about how many pokemon he's found in various areas, and overall seems to really stick to Oak's request of filling the Pokedex. He can also catch Gastly in the tower, I believe the only place you can find them in the game. Whether he had a Silph Scope so he could see the Gastly or not is unknown, but it seems like he went to Pokemon Tower specifically to catch some pokemon, and you run into him when he's on his way back down.
2. In addition to collecting lots of Pokemon, your rival also wants to battle with strong Pokemon. Rattata/Raticate are pretty good in the beginning of the game, but it starts getting outclassed around the time you reach Lavender town. Even though it can learn some great TMs, your rival probably decided it wasn't a good fit for his team, especially since he already had another Normal type with Pidgeotto.
3. The whole "not reaching a Pokemon center" thing is kind of dubious. I'm not sure what happens to Pokemon when they're inside Poke balls, but I'd guess that they remain in a kind of "stasis" while inside. Consider the number of trainers who are probably out in the woods or mountains or open ocean for days at a time. If their Pokemon faints and they're miles away from a Pokemon center, it's pretty likely that a Poke ball will keep them safe--still hurt and/or unconscious, but safe--until they reach civilization again. Even barring that, given how many trainers are on the boat, the odds seem fairly low that there wasn't some way of healing Pokemon or someone who had a Revive.
So, I think that rather than his Raticate dying, it was no longer as strong a member of the team as your rival would like, and he boxed/released it.

I believe in some of these. Buried Alive was real. The developers made Buried Alive and removed it because they felt like a kid's game shouldn't have such content. Buried Alive as still in development when abandoned, and they did not make an animation for a victory, so the game keeps freezing and crashes. The ghost of marowak was replaced for a boss. Through a rare glitch, buried alive can be found.

This popped into my head. In the Sinnoh Region, They have the Pokémon Tower for the dead Pokémon, But according To Pokémon Science, Pokémon only faint. I don't get it!
Everything dies eventually . And or the took to much damage. As an example I'm pretty sure some people have died in a boxing ring before , even though you are not mention to die in them.
Pokemon can die, but normally faint.
