As someone who works in (non-corpo) marketing and communications... yeah. If it makes you feel any better, the graphic designers are just as much into this as the people they're pitching to. It's not drugs that they're on, it's circle jerking. It's a group of people on either side just vibing really intensely and exchanging buzzwords. If you're not in the conversation, it's complete nonsense, but when you're in it, you get it. It's a very weird space to exist in. Like the DNA arrows and shit at the start are completely unintelligible, but they would have made perfect sense to the designers, and when explained, the team they were pitching to would have understood it completely too. I hate this shit, it's too much talking for which image looks the nicest to my bosses, the clients. Docs like this are like a thesis for the designer as to how they came up with the design. They aren't usually this intense, but Pepsi is such an enormous company that I'm not surprised that they went in with the lost sea scrolls. Small and public sector clients won't expect this from you, brother, don't be discouraged.

But the thing that actually makes it "Max" is the fact that they use a unique blend of artificial sweeteners, one of which was not initially approved for sale in the US. This document reminds of that one episode of 'Arthur' where Arthur was trying to come up with a new jingle for a cereal commercial contest, and he goes overboard trying to even come up with the right notes, as though trying to break it down into a science through his piano

It was just a means of basically subscribing without having to go check every single individual site you were following the feed from. UA-cam used to have the feature too. But a ton of sites removed it because they want you to visit the site and not get it all on some off platform thing without ads.
and if my comment got eaten by code, RSS feeds are basically a means to get updates from sites/people that doesn’t involve going to a bunch of individual sites and have it aggregated in one place. It was and still is an incredibly useful feature that most of the internet seems to have forgotten about.

I discovered the new pepsi logo announcement on my own a few weeks ago and the conclusion i came to when looking at it and the old logo was that the old logo was made at a time when every company wanted to be apple which is why they went with such a soft font but now thats seen as boring and corporate so they went back to the old logo (because its just better) and now are going back to their old strategy of copying sonic the hedgehog

Some of the songs use actual parts of Pepsi commercials and other advertising materials, but my favourite is “Drink It Up,” which is essentially a a list of puns on various drink brands with a chorus that begins “and my mind just turns to Pepsi.” I feel like my mind’s turned to something way worse personally, but that’s my cross to bear.

This has to be the most confusing episode of netlore. I always watch these videos on UA-cam when they first come out, but while playing video games, sometimes I’ll put on some episodes of netlore on Spotify. I cannot imagine how confused I would’ve been if I had just listened to the audio. Cybershell seems to bring up the most baffling, yet interesting topics. I grew up with a lot of pepsi memorabilia around because my father and uncle both worked for the company. The offices in the local plant are like a little pepsi museum. It's pretty neat.

The gravitational pull of the Pepsi universe keeps bringing back to this subject every few years.
I remember being in a logo design class and my teacher used the Pepsi document as an example of how much thought goes into logo design.
He was an absolute moron.
This has to be the most confusing episode of netlore. I always watch these videos on UA-cam when they first come out, but while playing video games, sometimes I’ll put on some episodes of netlore on Spotify. I cannot imagine how confused I would’ve been if I had just listened to the audio. Cybershell seems to bring up the most baffling, yet interesting topics. Faxlore, then cybersquatting (my favorite episode), now Pepsi marketing.

I grew up with a lot of pepsi memorabilia around because my father and uncle both worked for the company. The offices in the local plant are like a little pepsi museum. It's pretty neat.
