If she goes to Donbass and takes a picture on the jumpseat of a Su-25 she would be relevant again like 50 years ago. And just as right, time really is a sphere for some people.
I love how she acknowledges that she doesn't keep the news division around because it makes money, but because she genuinely loves it. Because despite whatever else may be going on in her life, this is the one thing she got right and can feel proud of.
can't imagine how heartbreaking it is for charlie skinner to say "we don't have the trust of the public anymore" . He was on the verge of breaking down.
Aaron Sorkin is a genius the quality of the writing matched by the performances of the actors brilliant casting The Newsroom is up there along with The West Wing
“Leona, we don’t have the trust of the public anymore!” “GET IT BACK!” Oh, I just love this scene. Just these two sentences. Sam Waterston, Jane Fonda, and Aaron Sorkin. Perfection.
Jane Fonda - Academy Awards Oscar Winner, Marcia Gay Harden - Academy Awards Oscar Winner, Sam Waterston - Academy Awards Oscar Nominee & Golden Globe/SAG/Emmy Winner, and Dumb and Dumber's Harry - what a roomful of talent.

It just simply shouldn't work! It should be cringe as fuck. But dear God does Jane Fonda make it work! I don't know how, I don't CARE how! I'm just thrilled she did! Just brilliant character & performance.
My interpretation of this scene was that, as explanation for her can’t-feel-my-face-kinda-high behavior, she was simply furious beyond coherent speech or action, so in lieu of Dantana’s head to cave in her brain decided “five edibles in” behavior was as close as could be managed.
One of my biggest disappointments is that they didn’t have a trial after an entire season of buildup, the second season as well as the final season should have gone out with a bang.
As she said 1)Man cooks a News story, 2)gets caught and because 3)ANC did not catch his lie before it was aired his rep is ruined and he is to get 5 million?! And the the honourable people all say sorry and resign; Fuck NO.
i hate that sorkin just couldn't take tv... this show deserved more time. what did get made... love every minute. still somehow don't understand the whole brief maggie hair change thing but whatever... 1 booboo
She did it whilst suffering from PTSD from her time in Africa, due to the fact that the boy that was shot loved her Blonde Long Hair so much, every time she looked at it in the time directly after the event set off her PTSD, hence she cut it and changed the colour to someone quite strikingly 'not-blonde'
Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it was a mistake you moron. She changed her hair because the African kid who died loved her blonde hair and every time she looked in the mirror it reminded her of him. See? Easy. You're a fucking booboo.
Edward DeGuzman what red flag? It just didn’t make sense. Kinda swept under the rug quickly. Didn’t make sense. Now, seems forced and dealt with.... still.... weird and didn’t make sense. Can’t stress the didn’t make sense ,enough.
@@edwarddeguzman3258 cuting your own hair per se its not a red flag... but when you got ptsd its somehing diferent. i wish i could explain you more but its a technical explanation and english its not my first languaje. im sorry if im not helping you enough. have a good day!
Jane Fonda stole every single scene she was in, not a single word too little or too much. On the one hand I wish they'd used her more, but on the other, you soon became aware that whenever she did appear, it would be worth it!
You can see how Jane Fonda comes from a previous generation of actors, she is not chewing up the set trying to impose her presence but gently nibling it enough to show who is in command even if it's only a 3 mimutes scene...
Sorkin is obviously known for his self plagiarism but it really is striking how much this scene was recycled for Studio 60 when the billionaire owner reveals he can’t wait to have a huge legal battle with the FCC.
This show was good, but it never quite made The West Wing. I think the problem was the middle tier of the show was weak as Sorkin concentrated on the upper tier rather than the middle tier while the WW concentrated on the more relatable middle tier. The only standouts were Sloan and Mac (Sloan stole the scenes she was in--WOW, she should have gotten more air time). And of course Jane Fonda, she was fun. Suddenly occurred to me that not a single strong member of the cast was male.
Saying "we don't have the trust of the public anymore" is just some generic statement that even poll numbers don't prove. It is just some random statement
The best freaking line in the whole damned serie... And it came out of Jane Fonda.... Don't get me wrong but... What the hell is Jane Fonda doing as a tycoon in a news serie? Who the hell was stoned enough to cast her in this character?

Perfect.
Probably one of the top lines in the whole show
Right up there with “I’m a marine Don and I’ll kick your ass. I don’t care how many protein bars you eat.”
Fonda has admitted in an interview she absolutely loved how this very scene and her part in it was written.
If she goes to Donbass and takes a picture on the jumpseat of a Su-25 she would be relevant again like 50 years ago. And just as right, time really is a sphere for some people.

on the other hand, she compromises that one good thing when she thinks it gives her power in a fight where she is the bad guy.
