I like when they're on the plane and the guy next to Sloan asks "Why did you set the Secretary of the Treasury on fire?" and Sloan responds "Just to show the other cabinet secretaries I could."
Mac is my single favourite character on a TV show ever. "I think the power going out is what's going to save this - SON OF A BITCH!" That scene has me in tears of laughter every time.
I love how Will doesn’t even react when Mac pulls the pillow out from behind his head. He’s just like, “He said something stupid. She’s going to hit him.”
I think one of my favorite moments ever is after Sloan messes up the Japanese Nuclear crisis interview and she walks out and Don is just patiently waiting for Charlie to come out screaming."Just hang on for another five seconds and know that we've all been there at one time or another." "What happens in five seconds-" "What in the name of holy fuck were you thinking about?!"
My favorite part was in the same episode: "The Japanese say the radiation is going to level 7." "I'd take their word for it, the Japanese have some experience with radiation." "Do you think that's something I should..." "That is NOT something you should mention on the air!"
I love their retraction. Sloan's all "they fool-proofed the language for this EXACT reason," and they're all "you're not fluent in Japanese," and she's all "BUT I AM."
One of my favorite lines is at the hospital when Mackenzie is getting on Will about his health and he says “can i have the mean nurse back” had me rolling 😂
this video doesnt set the line up well, but 5:52 "BOY THAT GENGHIS KHAN HAD SOME PRETTY GOOD IDEAS" is one of the funniest lines of dialogue ever uttered on TV.
wolf cub they were going through ways to get kicked out of the plane because Don was eager to get back to the Newsroom to report the story, and one of the ways listed online is to come up with some provocative controversial statements(probably ones that would discomfort others). So that’s why Elliot said the Genghis Khan line, in the hopes that they could get kicked out of the plane after Don repeatedly got in trouble with the air stewardess
"Go back to Japanese!" *sigh* I did not like Don... until this episode, this scene... and then watching his reactions, I totally fell in love with him. This is the Newsroom equivalent of West Wing's "Celestial Navigation" episode, 'A secwet pwan To fight infwation!"
@@majorevangelism Of course, it's an Aaron Sorkin trait. Search UA-cam for "Sorkinisms" and you'll see the same thing repeated through several TV shows & movies all written by Sorkin.
the further you go through this collection you see how fucking awesome this series was, I wish they would do something with it today and bring them back,
3:13 Don doesn't understand how doors work. I love that scene because it's almost like Aaron Sorkin is making fun of how on every other TV series it's so easy for people to bust through doors.
Love this. Seriously, this is a really nice compilation of some of the funniest moments! Will high and about to go on the air with the Bin Laden coverage is my favorite. Mackenzie's "Joe Biden!" and Charlie's "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!" is the best thing ever.
SIX years since this video has been up and no one talked about Sloan's "Kenzie" moments?! Sloan: I need wisdom *looks to Will* Mac: *proudly pops in* I have wisdom. Sloan: Kenzie, I love you but sometimes your wisdom leads to... Mac: *proud and confused* Sloan: you know... Mac: *still confused* Sloan: *imitates an implosion with highly accurate sound effects* Mac: yeah, no, I get it.
there was a scene in one of the second season episodes where mac hits will a lot and he covers himself and says: "use your words!" I couldn't stop laughing
Uh, no. She dumped his glass of Whiskey onto his lap, at the bar, and then Will said, "Use your words." The one where she hits him with the pillow, was when he went to the hospital. You're mixing to different episodes together.
The actual show was cancelled for all the reasons the fictional show depicted. To recap: it was a fictional news show (literally, the only time the term "fake news" truly applies) doing actual news better than the real news... and the multi media owners of the fake news show, who also own real news outlets, pulled the plug because their own show made them look bad. That is so circularly, tragically ironic, that it came all the way back to being funny.
I'm thinking that Aaron Sorkin might have made me laugh more, with the possible exception of Groucho, than just about anybody else. Between his writing on this show and the West Wing, there have been some hilarious bits.
I hadn't watched Rudy until I heard these guys talking about it. I watched it and I admit I did have a little something in my eyes during the jersey scene.
what makes this show a success? each character is unique !!! the directors did not focus only on the main characters .. even the tailor is sarcastic in his own way! and also so many reactions are unpredictable .. Charlie when he shouts at Don, McKenzie when she beats McAvoy, Sloan, Jim, .. Great Job !!!
When a woman you're very close with is mad at you, she starts calling you by your full or formal name. A lot of mothers call their children their full names when they're mad.
" i'm a marine don, ille beat the shit out of you. I dont care how many protein bars you eat" he's a fucking legend!
Sam Waterston is epic.
Icarus Yeah, RIP. :p
+Johnny 2face RIP? He isn't dead.
***** In the newsroom he died.
Johnny 2face My bad, I haven't seen the series. i just discovered these clips a day ago.
I like when they're on the plane and the guy next to Sloan asks "Why did you set the Secretary of the Treasury on fire?" and Sloan responds "Just to show the other cabinet secretaries I could."
I wish we could have seen it. I love the awkwardness that is Sloan.
"That was really embarassing for me and it came right after I accidentally set him on fire". Oh, Sloan.
"Boy that Ghengis Khan had some pretty good ideas" always cracks me up.
They forgot Don falling backwards in his chair not once but twice. I love this show!
When he started falling for the 2nd time and yelled ''Goddammit'' at the same time I lost my shit !!!
Mac is my single favourite character on a TV show ever. "I think the power going out is what's going to save this - SON OF A BITCH!" That scene has me in tears of laughter every time.
"Lester I'm gonna lose my shit on you" was my favorite line in all of television.

"I missed part of the interview after it turned into a kurosawa movie" may be the hardest I've laughed at and HBO series
@@jims4826 "I don't give a shit, madame butterfly" is what got me in that scene
My favorite part was in the same episode:
"The Japanese say the radiation is going to level 7."
"I'd take their word for it, the Japanese have some experience with radiation."
"Do you think that's something I should..."

"S'up?" 😂
I love their retraction. Sloan's all "they fool-proofed the language for this EXACT reason," and they're all "you're not fluent in Japanese," and she's all "BUT I AM."
Sloan's awkwardness in social situations is hilarious to watch
"Could someone please help Will put his pants on?"
No way you can't love this show.
I remember when i first saw the "He struggles with things" line, i laughed so hard!
+Aamir Quraishy I'm dead^^
i'm still laughing now!
@@potterpotty01 Yup me to. "Can somebody help Will put his pants on...." XD
What about "Youre Expanding."
"CMON I GAINED FOUR FREAKIN POUNDS!"
"No professor..."
"No no....go back to Japanese...." I love how Don flaps his hands with panic.
"It seems like you're in pain..."
"He is."
"He said IN pain, not A pain !"
"Oh ! Nevermind...."
One of my favorite lines is at the hospital when Mackenzie is getting on Will about his health and he says “can i have the mean nurse back” had me rolling 😂

It is. That line has me laughing everytime.
I will really, really miss HBO's Newsroom.
+HUTCHfromBA me too
We all do.
great tv but too idealistic
@@luf4rall why idealistic ? I am 70 and remember good, honest news.
If you have to aim upward, idealistic is what you shoot for. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Poor CJ having to get the root canal lol
I wish you'd put the 'Fox hired someone with three Mohammeds in their name?' scene from 1x02.
Funny enough that name was also mentioned in S4 of The West Wing.
@@majorevangelism Of course, it's an Aaron Sorkin trait. Search UA-cam for "Sorkinisms" and you'll see the same thing repeated through several TV shows & movies all written by Sorkin.
They probably thought it was like hiring 3 Mohammeds at once.
"Yes you are my fourth and only choice" lol
"Sup?" That word from Don is the singular best one-word line that was delivered in this series.
Charlie going off on Don in 1x01 really set the tone for this show's specific brand of over-the-top absurd humor
"I'm a marine, & I will beat the sheet out of you!"

I love that not once, but TWICE Maggie hit Jim with a glass door.
The second time it kinda looked like he ran into it, but both incidents were hilarious for sure
"OBL reportable. Knock 'em dead, just like we did." - Joe Biden.
Oh, how I would have loved this show to have a revival for this election.
come on man!!

Joe biden is an idiot and you know it.

It was a great last episode though

I wish "Hey, we got Obama" was in here
“When did you turn into Ted Baxter?” Is another very good one.
GET ON THE AIR
8:41 I had the exact same reaction as McKenzie; and then
10:29 - LMAO (the first time I saw this)
Best US drama since West Wing. Aaron Sorkin is a total genius
great show, will be missed
I haven't seen this show yet, but Mackenzie seems like a riot.
Dustin Hopkins don and Sloan alone are worth watching.
@@MedusaOblongata What about Charlie?!?
She is. But they're all worth watching.
"a Japanese man's honour is at stake" is such an underrated line
I still use "I'm a Marine and I will beat the shit out of, I don't care how many protein bars you eat." on a nearly daily basis.
sloan sabbith is a hyper aggressive ainsley hayes and i'm certain they'd be best friends
She's also smug, and you've just got to love Sloans smug-face! :)
Make this happen!!

This and studio 60 are two of the most underrated series of all time…trust me
Yes! I agree completely! I was able to watch studio 60 on UA-cam earlier but I can't do that anymore... do you know where I can watch it now?
'Eat your jello!'
That last one gets me every time
MacKenzie is so friggin adorable
The pants cracks me up because I have one pair of sweat pants with that exact same issue... 🤷♂️
I love this show and this collection of the "funny bits" is brilliant!
Thank you.
The best writing ever! I can just keep writing on and on about this show.
You forgot the "throw me he remote" scene from the killing Bin Laden episode. But still, a good compilation, gave me some nice recall chuckles.

"Lester, I'm going to lose my shit on you."
The power coming back on was the best joke I'm the show

"I appreciate you patience" LOL funniest on UA-cam , thanks!

"I shouldn't... say things."

Thank u so much! I love episode #6 and exactly those moments that u show in your vid!!! This show is amazing!
CAN SOMEBODY HELP WILL PUT HIS PANTS ON
They needed to extend the death threats against Will just so Terry Crews could get more screen time.
The part where he slams the door with his shoulder is hysterical

Check out Studio 60. Another Sorkin great killed way too soon.
Oh I really miss those badass conversations in The Newsroom. Will and Mac ❤ ❤
Jim Carrey should guest star on this show as an old friend of Will McAvoy. Someone he used to pal around with.

"Jim, that's LV luggage." When Mac said that I lost it.
Terry Crews as guest bodyguard is awesome
Especially in the Bin Laden episode. Can't help being big and black at the same time
OMG why could I not have followed this all along!!!
Sloane is my favorite. Because of her brains and the two Ph.D.s.
you cant put your pants on and you think there is something wrong with the pant

This show only reminds me how much I miss West Wing, Sports Night, and Studio 69
The pants scene had me laughing for 10 mins - ty for sharing
