This was Carly Simon's first single, appearing just as the singer-songwriter era was coming to fruition. My fav Carly song. It's so atmospheric, ethereal, almost as if one is floating over a family, a couple, observing their lives, good, bad or as indifferent that are. Relationships are what we make them, good, bad or ugly. And for most of us, it's a balance if all to a degree or another.
