  • Mike Barber's Commercial Beekeeping VLOG: Winter storm Heather is closing in on and the race is on to save the bees. In this episode you will see us doing merges right up until the edge of the cold front in the fight to take as many hives as possible to California to pollinate the almonds. We do the common newspaper merge and what we call a Dirty Merge, piling bees and brood from many colonies into towers to let the bees decide which queen, if any, will reign over them all in this game of thrones. You will also see Uncle Marty grading hives and getting it right, Michelle pinching queens and more of the new guy scraping frames and lifting heavy things. I will do some math and show off my dismal pallet counting skills while discussing the potential I see from yet another hard season full of empty boxes. Every bee counts in this arctic blast damage control race so come join our story and watch us save the dinks for another day and another chance to win the fight to survive for the upcoming season.

    Hey Mike! The boxes with crystals, how long do you let them air out before you make splits with them? Also, if you are coming out to Pixley again this year for almonds, the weather won’t be as wet out here like last year. Great video! 👍🏻

      Hello. We like to air them for a day and stack them so they are open to the air. We are with the same broker so same general area. I really hope your forecast holds true and we don't have to experience the delays and loss of last year's floods. Thank you so much for watching!👍

    Why do you have to wear a respirator?

    • @honeybeesunlimited
      @honeybeesunlimited  5 місяців тому

      We wear respirators to protect us from the oxalic acid vapors that we treat for varroa mites with in our colonies. Thank you for watching!

      We have no experience with Serena here in the states. I hear they don’t sting. What a deal.

      @@jonathanstevens9919 you are going strong, and you have hits some big steps in a short amount of time, congrats. Scaling up is a constant challenge, fortunately the constant cycle of growth we are in is extremely interesting. Each big jump we take requires more infrastructure and better effort management but it also opens up more opportunities. We experience some a lot of growing pains along the ways but a willingness to work hard and work though it yielded solid results. Cheers to you and your bees, thank you for reaching out, stay at it and I look forward to hearing more from you. Your are very welcome and thank you!

    Hello, I recently had the opportunity to explore your UA-cam channel. I must say that I am impressed with the quality of content you are creating. Your video doesn't have a good Thumbnail. it has come to my attention that the title description, video tag, video SEO and high-volume keywords are not included ―This is why you don't get much more views from your content . I also saw in your videos that your videos are not S.E.O friendly (Search Engine Optimization) while you upload video. If you want I can send you a audit file of your channel issues.
    Thanks and Regards
