Thank You Sir!!!
Wow UA-cam allowed you to post a link that's wild
The testing was very impressive! It goes to show that you really need to do some research on what you want out of an air filter. I've been watching his videos for years, and it's the best thing in the world
K&N is useless, they dont filter any dirt out. you might as well not use an air filter
I switched to K&N and a bowling ball slipped right past the filter into the upper intake then struck the engine pistons down for a perfect 300.
🤦🏻♂️
I hate it when that happens.
😂😂
😂😂😂
😭🤣😂🤣😭😭😭😭
Dont compare it by testing how much air flowing, compare it by how the filter clean the air .
Just try to put some ash, dust into your filter,
And suction it
High flow filters have oil to catch dirt

KE seems to have bad filtration
I was short of breath watching this. K&N (deep breaths) you saved my life
😂😂😂😂
Keep in mind the more air flow you get the more debris can pass by also.
That’s why k&n filters have an oil clotted to them so help stop dirt 😊 even after you wash them with a recharge kit you can re apply the oil on the filter 😊
@@Chapo-559they still don’t filter remotely close to as well as a standard filter.
@@justinfranklin3040 ive been runninng a 2001 trx400ex with a k&n filter since it was brand new (20+ years ago) ive never had any dust in my intake tube or port, and ive never replaced the filter, don't judge me (i am soon just because its been so long). it still works EXACTLY the same as it did when i bought it. my sisters 300ex however, is currently being rebuilt because a brand new uni filter decided that it didnt want the top glued on anymore while we went to the dunes.... I stand behind K&N becasue their products actually do what they say they are going to do. i dont even use a filter cover on it and its completly fine. I live in AZ btw so the dust here is INSANE.
Use K&N if you want air. Use Purolator if you want clean air.

does it improve the sound?

U can see a video comparing some air filters and the KN filtration isso similar to dnt have any filter in
I loved my K&N filter until I worked at a quarry, the fine dust nearly killed my truck and had to switch to paper. K&N is alright if you’re a road warrior or never go anyway in the south west
Put over 300k miles on two separate Toyota Tacoma trucks with the 3.4 v6 with K&N filters. Apparently both trucks missed the memo that the filters will supposedly cause the engine to detonate.
Toyota's Are Built Differently.
Retired Army vet that had a '99 Tahoe with 275,xxx(highway miles) with a k&n and I can attest to that. I only had to trade it in, cuz I needed 4x4 here in upstate NY
Can you elaborate please???
@@ryanjofreI’m not sure what you’d like me to to elaborate on.
There is a common belief that K&N filters do not filter debris well enough and, as a result, installing one will ruin your engine prematurely.
I happen to have two separate anecdotes where I reached rather high mileage with K&n filters being installed through the duration of the mileage.
Some random dude "they could have lasted 400-500k!!!!!"
High performance air filters are designed for full air introduction at the cost of filtration. For a race car it’s fine as you can afford the constant maintenance but for a regular car this will lead to fine particles ending up in your engine.
Cars run for 100s of 1000s of miles with kn filters with no problems what so ever you speaking rubbish
@@sizzlechest1110 You literally misunderstood what I said. Your brain is rubbish.
Using high quality synthetic oil and changing it regularly will help.
It's all a balance. Never seen a test showing too much in the oil.
Absolute nonsense.
KN filters do what they suppose to and are improving both performance and fuel economy.
Best "opinion" on KN is always given by those who have never used them.
Have had mine on since new, no issues. 2011 Silverado 5.3.
everyone just parroting what they heard, NO, there is never any dust whatsoever on the engine side of my intake, i always check, no oil either. its clean. i drive a jeep and take it down dusty trails on the regular. its still spotless.
Good For you!!!but there are also some people who have used these filter and have not got the same results as you...and there are also those who have the same with you...I would never use KN&N filters i would use stock filter and replace it regularly...
I get that the filter is supposed to filter the dirt but i think some of you miss the point of it also sounds and usually performs better. Filtering qaulity though is pretty good ive been running mine since i got the car almost 2 years and havent had a problem and thanks to a retune even gained a few horsepower which was kinda the whole point😂😂
What everyone forget is that the KN filter has bigger and looser holes. Meaning less restrictions to air flow but on the other hands. It doesnt suck debris into the vehicle. Thats why they put oil onto the filter so any dirts will eventually get stuck on it.
Same for dust and other heavy particles from the air.
Use the reccomended air filter,k&n are just for racing purposes /racing engines!
Where are u driving? 1k miles in the sahara desert? Kn is fine for driving everywhere and cars go hundreds of thousands of miles with no problems
@@sizzlechest1110exactly unless your daily driving in the desert then that a problem

LOL...FLy Away My Friend!!!!!!!
That filter ain't filtering anything.
Project Farm showed that gives more air at a terrible cost of more particles scratching up the engine. Besides tbe oil you spray on the filter messes up the mass air filter.

Doubt the fan was designed for static pressure
People who have had issues from high flow filters “ruining” their engine don’t clean their filter enough or even at all. If you get a dry filter like AFE ProDry S or AEM Dryflow, and clean it every 10k miles, you’ll be fine
lol you guys are funny all repeating the same thing, i can tell you guys don’t have performance cars complaining that K&N made a high flow filter. It’s ok guys lol it’s just not for u. Drive ur Toyota Prius and stay in the far right lane my goodness
So the fan is just strong enough to fail with the oem filter ...
People! Do not listen to negative information, I always use K&N filter and I never had 1 single problem. Do a research first.
Yup, less restriction and less filtration
Why would you every change your filter then? Just leave the dirty one on, it’ll filter better
Performance air filters I have a big problem. They're lousy at filtering the air.
that might be true because whenever i talk to people they just mention that it increases the air flow....
they dont mention much about the filtering capabilities.
Some people say they're mostly good for city driving instead of off road since the air quality is more dirty.
No they don't
@@thompson9400 is they are terrible at filtering.
@@michaeltrinidad1217 It's nearly as bad as not having a filter at all
Have used K&N filters on all my bikes over several decades, never had any problems ,& ,i keep my bikes.
People in the comment section have been really divided about this because as you are saying that you havent had any issue some are saying that they have had issues because of the Performace filters!!!
@@kash_rides_and_life_vlogs Im guessing some issues are because if your carb isnt jetted for the extra air,you gonna run leaner, just a thought.
@@enoz.j3506 Yeah that is one of the issue but efi systems adjusts for that!!!
@@kash_rides_and_life_vlogs Yes thats true,im old school carbed bikes & car.

I am using one for the past 1 year and few of my friends are using for the past 3 years but everything just seems great. depends on how it was fitted. people have done zanskar ( full of dust) trips on it and yet it worked well.
I have used it and seen many bike that use it there is no obvious issues but in the long term like 1 2 years issues start developing but they are not visible to use or we cant feel...
There's a person that has a hidden switch to 'control' the air flow, hahaha 😲
Finally After 6 Years Someone Has Actually Figured It Out!!!!Thank You!!!!
which one is the performance
Was the k and n filter pre oiled before this test ?
Just don't use these filters if you live or use your car in somewhere with lots of dust in the air. Otherwise go for it, they make a little bit more hp and more turbo noise.
Birde toz Desti yapinda görelim
Now put some dirt on the filter and see if the ball gets dirty. Its a filter not a blow dryer. Great it flows more but then do it catch less.
Why did you use 2 different k&n filters?
KN filter let more air pass through. More gas ⛽️ there for more money spent. They are 5 times more expensive than OEM, and they let more particles to the engine, not the best idea to preserve the integrity of the car
they are more meant for perfomance. more air + more fuel = more power. They block out large particles and still block out some dust.
If you keep them oiled properly, they actually filter out more dust. Not as good as the OEM filter, but they do. I always clean mine and make sure it’s oiled to keep the dust to a minimum. I prepare it over the OEM filter because of the obvious better flow of air. I wouldn’t recommend using this on a smaller 4 cylinder engine, as the benefits of using one are much smaller than using one on a V8. Running a performance filter helps a V8 run better, and even the idle is louder because of the extra air.
Then why do I here old men say they use k&n there whole life and never had a problem, this is pure utterly bullshit
Most ECMs arent setup for a performance filter, so the original comment of the added air being a negative can be very true. Not to mention the poor filtration capability when compared to paper.
@@gunnison3681The MAP sensor can still adjust fuel ratio and the car will not run lean unless those sensors do not function right.
Do you need it??? No... But do you want it??? Hell yeah brother!!! When you think about it, a filter you toss away or a filter that you buy once and reusable basically until you croak or did something stupid with it. I'd choose the later, K&N filters if you take care of em they will take care of you and it's an easy choice.
Its an easy choice! the catch here is the word "EASY"...I mean easy is a subjective word what is easy for you might be difficult for someone else...Now technically most people dont have time to maintain their vehicles and they go to dealerships...So For a bike the only real mainitainance you have to do is oiling and chain maintainance, and if you are using your bike as daily driver then what is the point of buyying performance filters in the 1st place if you are not going to get the max performance out of your bike as you are just going to commute...This is Only 1 side of the argument... What you said very correctly is the other side of the argument...
@@kash_rides_and_life_vlogs ur right 🤙🤙🤙
Green filter >
"this is perfect for my otherwise bone stock V6"
True but it depends if you want long life and are not going to use your vehicel for racing purpose i would advice you to keep it stock only...and even of you decide to use ir for racing then change the filter only when you are are going for racing events and then when you go to regular day to day activites again switch to stock filter!!!
Is it air filter or air stopper lol xD
These are good if you wanna keep your intake stock like on a corvette or something and you take it to the track or drag drip...for the regular roads...nah too dirty
Yes totally agree, these are performance filters which should only be used when you need performance, on road where comfort and fuel efficiency are main targets its better to just stay with stock filters
Where to buy that tester?
Now show us the foreign object to engine penetration figures comparing the two and how that affects engine longevity?
Either you want to go 3% faster for a shorter time, or normal pace for much, much longer.
Check engine incoming.
No filter= best performance 😂
Only for sometime😂😂😂
Kinda of a misleading test. The difference in flow rate to keep the ping pong ball floating could be miniscule. Would be better to have a reading of the flow rate going through the filter.
Just the same as a furnace filter. You’re better off with the green mash filter because it doesn’t have as much restrictive airflow. Plus your furnace won’t have to work as hard same concept as your engine.
Project farm made a vid on this
Can you share the link i will pin that video!!!
Those are filters only for stones and bugs 🤣🤣🤣
If you poke a bunch of holes in the stock filter it will match the KnN or better

Ventilador de pc comparando el vacio que genera el motor, obvio no tiene la misma potencia, entonces le pongo ventiladores de pc y me ahorro el dinero de un turbo 😂
imagine now all the junk going into your engine.
K&N let's all the dirt in too. 😅
Its like Uncle Ben Said "With Great Power Comes, Great Responsibility!"😃😃
A car engine has way more power than that fan.
Since more air flow is going through would that make the computer make the car throw out more gas ?
It’s more worried about EGTs and throttle position to determine how much fuel you need. Yes more air can pass through the filter, that doesn’t change how hard your engine is sucking that air in
Just run your car with no air filter.. forget the dust and dirt
More air on washable filter it's not good.. can lead the dusty air to Throttle body.. it's better to stay stock filters
That aint filtering nothing, put a wix on the tester, which actually filters dirt out.
I want to see that done again without the oil in the filter.
Then you have a preety tough job on your hands you have to make a time machine that takes me 6years back!!!😂😂I am just kidding... i am of the impression as even though more air is passed then more impurity is also passed!! so stock is better!!!!
So basically "performance" does a worse job at filtering like I been telling people. Less restriction allows more dirt. Keep things in mind with your oil filters and HELLO! Your air intakes, especially when daily driving and living in dusty areas. That motor won't last.
Its Give And Take What Is Best For You At A Certain Time...if you are going to track you want Knn
Otherwise, normal air filters are better options in long term...
dont use anything for best guys

Its advertising.
Did anyone notice he didn't place the regular filter all the way 🤔🤔😆. This world is crazy!! 🇺🇸 1st 4ever
1. He did place it all the way in. 2. For the purpose of this demonstration it would actually make the flow better had he not put it all the way in..
Easy to do with a magnet
Magnet??? What do you mean???
If you want to dust your engine go right ahead 👌
These air filters are just for races where engine life is not as important as performance!!!
I can feel at least 15+ hp 🤣😭😂😭🤣
😂😂😂
Great an air filter that doesn’t filter air …might as well call it race filter
Cool. Now do it with smoke and debris
testing the flow of a filter who don't filtering anything cause have too big holes.
For a normal car you want the air filter that filters the best, not lets the most air through.
That's why Mann filter > K&N for normal cars

Properly cleaned and oiled K&N Filters let in more AIR FACTS!!! They also let in more DIRT FACTS!!!
If you use good oil and good oil filters the increased Air is worth the increased Dirt for many people. Run high density oil filters that will trap more dirt.
If you want your Toyota engine to last for 300k+ mikes then decarbonize your engine with Auto RX plus and run good paper filters!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
True that!!! Its always a compromise as the more modifications you do in your vehicle the more care and more good quality products you have to use to maiintain those parts
@@kash_rides_and_life_vlogs Yep Everything in design and engineering is a trade off and it’s all relative!👍
For a daily driver car or truck in the city it’s worth it to run a K&N filter IME for the slight increase in air and thus slight increase in power.
If you live/work on say a Ranch in New Mexico or Texas with allot of dirt in the air you’d be a HUGE fool to run anything big a high quality traditional “paper” filter. Also that Oil you use to recharge the K&N will be COVERED in dirt in no time in said environment.

You are correct!!! But these filters are used in racing conditions only... And most race teams change filters after a race and proper cleaning of sensors or replacement is done so kn&n filters are good for track but if used for road cars will give the issue that you have so perfectly described!.
@@kash_rides_and_life_vlogs If only that were the case. Every goof ball who has ever read a car magazine or seen a comercial likes to buy these filters and run them on their daily vehicle. The advertising makes false claims of adding horsepower, improving, mpg, etc. In my experience (25 years in the auto industry) any air filter that uses oil is a bad idea. They cause sensor problems, get all full of gunk and end up flowing LESS air than a standard paper filer after just a few hundred miles. They dont advertise that part.
