the 2017 has a more classic look/feel.. the front of the 2018 looks like a mazda
The 18 def looks better and more aggressive from the front and rear. Just has an overall sleeker appearance. One of the main things I didn't like about the 15-17 is how round and bloated ita appearance looked. The 18 to me almost looks like a modern day rebirth of the sn95 03 04 body style.

RIGHT !!! The front of the 15-17 doesnt match the rear of the body. Looks completely unfinished and too rounded

The 10 speed is constantly hunting and changing gears and that is so annoying. And its changes are rough. The 6 spd auto is far smoother and allows the engine to run through more revs. The 10 speed runs like a hairy goat. No thanks

Same here. I want to buy a new GT but I swear I still have not warmed up to the 18-20 front end. I feel like I should have bought a 2017 model brand new when it came out. I wouldn't have thought Ford could fuck it up this bad.

@@jordanm9101 correct, I'm saying that the 15-17's are less $ and as for me and judging by the comments are more aesthetically pleasing. That being said, a CAI, high flow midpipe and tune would put you faster then the 18 and all for about $1k. However if your an auto guy then the 18 and up is the way to go with the 10 speed auto...
Don Johnson gotcha man, I’m a manual guy. Thinking of getting a CAI, cat-back exhaust, and a tune. And I will probably do a hellion turbo later on. Based on the comments I guess I’ll just keep my 17’ for now.

I own a 2019 Mustang GT and I honestly feel jealous whenever I see an older 2015 model on the road, they look much better
The 2018 didn't need a refresh in my opinion. The 2015-17 turned me on to the cars because of the way the car looked. So sexy and drew me into them. I'm not a Ford guy but I fell in love with the looks of these Mustangs so I bought a used 2017 with the performance package. OMG, I was hooked the moment I drove it! Its mine now but to be honest the front end on the 2018 has turned me off to these cars. I would much rather have a Challenger 392 TA for my next car!

I think even ford likes the 15-17 models better because their brand new gt500 and gt350 cobras still have the same 15-17 front look. And yea i prefer the 15-17 model the front just looks better and more agressive than the 18+.
The 15-17 models look aggressive and mean, and the 18+ models look angry with a hint of droopy eyed RBF. 🤣 I think they both look good though.

Yes! Manuals are the slower option today with modern technology out.
The Gen 2's handle boost a lot better from what most Mechanic's will tell you, Because of the 11.5 to 1 vs's the Gen 3 12 to 1 which you wouldn't think would matter that much boosted but it does.. The 2017's can handle 15lb's to 20Lb's on screws.. Where the 2018's tend to blow up over 15lb's of boost on an SC's just from what I have seen and heard from Tuner's. But I have seen others do well so take your chances.. The 2018's do rev higher, but once I get a wibble stage 2 put on none of that will matter and neither will that 10 speed. LOL. Please make sure he understands about Manual driver Ed at least.. Because I find these days, Most people have never really shifted a car in their lives... You wouldn't believe the how many PPL will get right on your but in a Manual on a hill at a light!!!!!!
I waited to get a 2018+ because I like the front end and rear better than the 15-17. Then waited a little long to save up for the 2020 with the PP1 and magna-ride. This thing handles the road like crazy good. Sold my 2006 Mustang GT for it. I loved the 2006 but this 2020 is way better in every way.
I have a 2017. Couldn’t bring myself in buying a 2018 or newer. I found a pp1 tuned at a great price.
The 17 is way better lookin IMO the 18 is just faster

Pricewise, I went with my 2017 GT Premium Fastback last April (2018)....Love the new Stangs but they’re getting very expensive.

It’s true that cosmetically speaking there isn’t really a huge difference between the two. The difference is the generation of motor, the 18’s have more power and torque.

Yes for the 2018 and newer mustangs the engine has been updated to 460 bhp in the USA. Road holding should be no different other than in the performance pack level 1 you can have magneride which is an adaptive suspension technology.

I always heard something about the newer coyote engine clonking out early in its life. I want to asked have y’all noticed any issues yet
The only things we’ve noticed are that it did start the “bbq tick” eventually. And for awhile in drag mode, the car wouldn’t shift right. But it’s since corrected and now Lund tuned and runs great!
My only issue with my 18 was the tick.. but Penzoil platinum fixed that.. it's mostly just the direct injection sound but I hate it .. great car so far though.. 50k miles
Everyone is different. I like my 20 gt pp1 and I’m still trying to like the 15-17

Why does the 18s take 10qts of oil. And the 2017 take 8gts? Does the 18s have a bigger oil pan?

whenever I see a 2018 Mustang side by side with a 2015 in a parking lot which is frequent where I live, I cringe. This is the cost of selling the Mustang globally, everyone knows the front end was raked down to pass European regulations.This is why for the first time ever I think the Camaro and Challenger look better because they still look American.

BUT, I live near Germany = Autobahn = no Speed Limit, when allowed and no trafic I enjoy the Sound and speed. BTW i am 61 years of age, and Love the Mustang!

The 2018+ borrows a lot of engine enhancements they did for 5.2 in the gt350. Port and Direct injection, increase in compression, PTWA cylinder walls, Rebalanced forged crankshaft, larger intake and exhaust valve, Larger bores to allow for larger valves… the list goes on. 2018+ is basically a baby gt350

The 15-17 S550s compared to the 18-20 S550s is the car equivalent of an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 5S. A minor incremental upgrade.
Lol… the iPhone 5 to 5S wasn’t an incremental upgrade tho. Sure on the outside it wasn’t a massive difference, but under the hood where it matter. It was a big upgrade, and biggest upgrade we ever had on an iPhone. You had the introduction of A7 which was 64 bit chip compared to the 32 bit chip, and saw the introduction of the metal API. Two big improvements that brought massive performance and efficiency improvements. The 18-20xx S550 saw big improvements under the hood.
The 18 also has 12 to 1 compression, bigger valves and duel low and high pressure injection which means 460 hp vs 435 in the 17

The 18+ have a different valve cover design so there is no coil cover on top with them.

I have a buddy that has an 18 an he couldn't figure out how to turn the advancetrac off. I looked on UA-cam for him an couldn't find a video show how to do it. Maybe y'all could do one.
Nickel white S550 hold the traction control button for 7-10 seconds to turn it all the way off
Down South Racing he did that and it didn't turn advance trac off. Turns out you have to be in drag mode and hold break and hold the button for 5 sec

Hold the traction control button for 8 seconds first push it once to turn the first part of it off then hold it in again to turn off advance
