Education Resiliency

I was born and raised in the City of Santa Ana. I am a first-generation college bound graduate who grew up in an environment that was very challenging and impoverished. I am a Latino who faced tremendous adversity, having to overcome a crime ridden area and having to adopt a tunnel like vision to even have a chance, a beacon of hope to succeed. Although I adopted a survival mode mentality, I became accustomed to a growth mindset of gaining knowledge, wisdom, experience, exposure and expertise to make myself a better person to help others. I decided to create my own educational pathway to become a true success. I am honored and proud to have demonstrated the true meaning of what educational resiliency is all about and have now become part of the .2% ratio of Latinos who graduate with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
