Guys if i don't respond to you that don't mean i don't see you. Thanks a lot for the comments!! Can't keep up and it's time to take my eyeballs of the screen for a few...I appreciate you all! Even the two thumbs down, thanks for watching you hatin' ass bitches! LOL
im only asking because I already have wire run to it, but I can find any eyelet connectors big enough for my wire. so im trying to see how small (sorry my bad) of wire I can use to power my amp. My brother installed my system and im trying to replace everything with better stuff (wires, connectors, etc..)
too many comments to keep up and it's about dinner time...worked all day, uploaded pics and edited video's most of the evening. Time to take a break and eat. But thanks everyone! this is fun! The "big 3 wiring" is done and we ran the power/grounds today. Tomorrow we hook up wires/RCA's. We also added a new battery up front. Video coming soon! Check the description for the pics of the wiring...
Just stumbled across this project by accident, but thats really cool that you and your son have a bond thats common between you, im sure alot of us bassheads wish we had pops that were so deep into audio, lol.....nice Steve
Awesome.. I really like seeing the father son project.. I think I commented on the first video.. It really will be memories that he will appreciate more, and more as he gets older.. A kid learns more then the realize from their dads. Its nice to see this. You can also see his confidence with tools getting better, and better each video.. Keep on keepin on !
Your son is getting better and better everyday with this. By ur age he should be a expert at it just like you. He'll I wish i could do half the things he can does.
meade916 np steve keep'em coming. Got one question for you if you can anwser. I have a 01 Chevy blazer 2dr. I either want 1 or 2 15's. What should I go with? I love bass I want people to hear me coming and I love the hair tricks.
I so wanna build my own box with the custom amp racks and all the gear. When I have the time and motivation your videos will definitely be the ones I follow to get the ideas from. Sweet as Meade!
Been following this on your forums! I love two things, Rockford Fosgate and clean installs. This rolls both into one package and is looking amazing! Can't wait to see it pound and i'm sure your son can't either, lol
like dude said below im also adoptable lol ur son is so lucky to have a great dad like you. my dream is to have a beautiful system like that. right now i just have 2 12 inch kenwoods in a box in my back seat lol you do amazing work man. keep it up
Damn , your builds are so simple but so clean. Really helps give me inspiration on my future set up. Loving all these father son build vids keep up the good work 👌
Amazing attention to detail! I'm new to your channel bit have watched a lot of videos and your work is more than top notch. Really enjoy your builds keep up the great work and videos. Thanks joe
Awesome video! How are you going to secure that amp rack to the floor? That's something I've always wondered myself, what is the best way to go about mounting amps and amp racks and such to a cars interior. Thanks!
I have been following this project build and great job as always. From a customer perspective I would love to see some tech flex on the wiring. Please don't get all defensive about getting advice and wiggin out lol, constructive criticism never hurt nobody.
if i wanted to do tech flex i would have. I don't like it. And i don't need constructive criticism from you or i would ask for it. Thanks anyway though.
You don't have to ask, lmao! You are posting videos for the open public to comment on. I dig where this project is going and kudos for getting your son involved.
Great work as always sir. I myself is trying to get my daughters to do a project of this calibre. They just laugh, oh well:(. Keep up the fantastic work. Take care & Peace out
How come you mounted the fans on the outside rather than the inside? Only problem with PC fans, they aren't the prettiest things around haha. So I guess you either have a clean look on the inside of the rack or a clean look on the outside of the rack.
that's my boy Jay next door. He always takes good care of my painting needs. My landlord who he works for owns the body shop next door so i got the BEST access to the most state of the art equipment and materials in town. It's great. Shot's out to Jay!!! Thanks BROTHA!
i always enjoy 2 tune into u're vids! i'm actually learnin' creativity and inspirations from ur vids and makes me inspired 2 learn more on not just all types of sound systems but technology in general! :) as always great vids :D
Just an idea. But I thought if you put a small grove around the box where the glass makes contact with the box. And put some EL-wire in the grove or some micro led strings. I thought that would make a nice glowing effect.
Great vids by the way my son he's 11 and my daughter she's 7 are into the car audio my son like yours loves to help and I'm always teaching and showing him something my daughter just says they don't want none turn up the radio dad lol I'm digging this series of vids but question how will u mount the amp rack down to keep it from moving thanks
Hey Steve. Long time viewer, first time comment. Any chance you have the dimensions of this amp rack. I have a Tahoe and I plan on building one exactly like the one you built. Thanks in advance.
Love the amp rack. I love everything you've done so far. You do lot's of simple little stuff that make the build over the top and that's why I love what you do. One question? Did you put a skim coat of fiberglass on the outside of that amp rack to get that nice clean finish or is it just a combination of primer/paint you use? Thanks and really diggin' this series bro.
Both thumbs up from us meade916 , I'm starting soon a similar project with my son,, even though not that pretty as your clean builds,,, I'm subscribing n watching yr vids all the time for inspiration,, thanks for uploading great material Regards from Sweden,,, 👍
Damm now that is starting to look BADASS... are the other amps for the door speakers?? I'm looking to up my voice that way I can up the bass and make it louder also new tweeters on my doors I think the ones it has are old
Hey Steve, how far can your crossovers be from your speakers? Most people tend to wire them up close to their speakers. I don't want to mount stuff onto my door panels. Can I put them in the trunk along with the amps?
Hope you don't mind if I just copy this for my Tahoe install. This is exactly what I want to do, how did you secure your amp rack? Do you have a build thread with pics on your forum?
Im in need of some expert advice. I need to build my son a 3.4 cub. box. which box building program is the best .... torres or the 12.... I noticed that with torres you end up building a monster box because of displacements etc. Im guessing you have to subtract the entire port area, bracing and sub. displacement... up to 38" wide, 15" hight (?depth) / L port. and also which posrts are best.... No rush. And thanks for any advice. I wanna make the little bastard proud..... lmao.
What is the largest gauge wire you would recommend to power an amp? I don't have anything fancy. Just a single amp powering a single 12" subwoofer. The amp is an 800w
Just out of curiosity steve why didnt you mount the fans that blow the air out of the box on the inside? would have given it a more clean/flush look. Either way, amazing job as always.
because they would be still be sticking out...but on the inside...and someone would say something about that. I can't win. I did it like this on purpose, if anyone has a better idea, feel free to do it on your own ride :) Thanks though man!
how did you mount the amp rack under the seat. I have a tahoe im building a system for and I want to make it look clean without and bolts showing. Thanks ahead of time
LOL GOD DAMMIT!!!! I WOULD WATCH YOUR VIDS EVERYDAY...BUT YOUR BUSY TO UPLOAD DAILY WHICH I UNDERSTAND BRO BUT GOOD JOB YOUR SON IS LEARNING A LOT FROM YOU!!! BTW SUBBED SINCE WOOOO LONG TIME AGO LIKE A YEAR AND A HALF A GO I WOULD SAY... AND I STILL REMEMBER THE DAY YOU UPLOADED THE BEER RUN IN A FERRARI :D JUST WANT TO SAY BIG FAN AND IF I COULD HAVE SOMEONE DO WORK ON MY CAR I WOULD NOT QUESTION HITTING YOU UP FOR SOME HELP... PEACE BRO.
I have one question meade916. I want to connect a fan to my cooling rack and I want to know how would I connect the fan so when the amp turns on the fan is on and when the amp turns off the fan turns off?
use your remote wire to trigger a relay and the relay to power the fans. Me, i am using an SMD TM-1 - no need for relays www.wccaraudio.com/front-page-categories/most-popular-products/smd-fahrenheit-temperature-meter-w-programable-fan-output-smd-tm1f.html
your father and son videos are great but they are laggy for me I am not sure why u using a new camera or something ? I been watching your videos for a lot of years and this is the first time ive noticed

Attach it to the chassis of the vehicle and sand the area down to bare metal.
Your son is making it look so easy! Nice clean build.

Excellent work, your son has the cleanest system in town. Good job pops.
I so wanna build my own box with the custom amp racks and all the gear. When I have the time and motivation your videos will definitely be the ones I follow to get the ideas from. Sweet as Meade!
Love that you and your son are working on this together.
He's one lucky kid. Has to work for what he's getting. Nice clean job.
Again another awesome install..... Love the way you work and put things together Mead. And teaching the next Gen with your son (The way to LIVE)

How did you give the black paint on the amp rack that thick wet gloss effect
Just an idea. But I thought if you put a small grove around the box where the glass makes contact with the box. And put some EL-wire in the grove or some micro led strings. I thought that would make a nice glowing effect.
i made it this far without any help but thanks anyway.
meade916
Nice Video Steve :)

you guys know your shit. i learn more from your videos. 2 thumbs up to your son showing his skills. keep the videos comimg
Now that's some professional looking shit Steve! You're a beast.
How come you didn't put the fans inside the box?
Wouldn't it protect the fans from getting hit by something, plus look better?
nothing is going to hit them and no it won't look better.

I'm wanting to do mine similar is the reason for asking I just put some self tappers in the seat legs
Remember. The civic videos. Ahh good times.
? Are the fans a push-pull setup 2 push air in and 2 pull air out
Clean work just needs a red led strip inside that amp rack Steve. But overall hella clean
thanks. Extra "flash" is not necessary but i was considering a little bit of LED somewhere at some point. But we got this, trust me. thanks!
