Big systems need big cables. Especially for the long runs. Beefing up the positive cable from your alternator even if it is not high-output is important as well. Grounds should be solid. Even though these video's aren't super exciting, it is still a very important part of the build. The amp rack can go in now though! stay tuned! Thanks for watching if you did!

its often the most overlooked part of a build i see too many times where people either run the wrong size or way to long of the wrong kind of power wires and they wonder why they have issues.. you can never go wrong with atleast a run of 1/0 of ofc power wire and one more for ground for a decent system along with doing the big 3 then its out of the way and you know you don't have to worry about it
The boring part has to get done for the fun part.
Question where you get them inserts you used for the frame grounds? You sell those?
@@Basshead40 i think he used those new drill bits that also have the top half is a threaded tap so you can drill ur hole & thread it all at the same time saving you time and making it easy so u know u'll always have the correct size drill bit for the thread size u need

Steve for some people it's good to post the wiring video especially its a big system I'm working on my first one and I wanna make sure I have my wires in the right place for my trailblazer all those it's baby Kong right now but my woofers are going to get upgraded I have a few more things I have to get done for my electrical work now I see how you recommend certain ground areas for best results. Personally, I love watching the way you run wire. 2/0 isn't always too easy to work with. Def massive wire n yup I'm having trouble getting white, 1/0 too, if your having issues with it were all screwed lol

These videos might not get as many views but damn do I appreciate you posting them. I've been watching SMD and jat4011 run wires for 6 years now and I've learned so much from the 2 channels. I have friends calling me to help them run wires in cars, boats, rvs, and houses all thanks to the skills I've learned watching these videos. Keep it up 👍

More power requires lower gauge, not big/larger gauge.

Whenever Steve is putting on a clinic, you know I'm watching. I've been doing car audio for myself and for a career for a quarter of a century. I find that i pick up new techniques more times than not on these videos. Keep showing us the "boring stuff", not enough of the folks out here know these things.

Mr.Meade,You are an artist when it comes to your wiring. You show folks how to run their wires where they aren't gonna get cut or pulled down. Mainly you show in my opinion the safest way to do it
Just to imagine soldering those lugs like the Tahoe. That crimping tool is a beast and time saver! And getting the right sized grommets are key.
And those bluepoint pliers made easy work out of that 00awg wire! That or this man has crazy grip strength.

Actually watching someone wire is pretty cool tbh!!! I enjoy anything car audio… I’m pretty sure all your subscribers enjoy it too! It’s cool to see how someone thinks, plus it teaches us new and different ways to run our wires.
The two existing holes next to where you drilled at is where they access the inside of the quarter panel to spray their rust producing foam.
When will be seeing aluminum and/or acrylic wiring holders? The wiring is clean with the zip ties and you do step it up to the next level. Example the in the rear with the are runs having and 1/2 inch thick wire separating block that’s mounted to the truck to help on wire flex because of the power. Maintaining the wires at a good distanced from slapping the underside of truck. Which will help protect the wiring rubbing. Even holding the runs from the front to back on the frame rails. I know it’s not seen or showcased but do Gately Audio wooden sub boxes show the high equally work inside. But you know it’s on that next level.
the wires won't "slap" the underside of the truck nor will the wire "rub". I have wire holders designed and a proto made i just ain't had time to finish it the rest of the way. Zip ties work fine so no issue there.
It's not boring to me, i like all aspects of the builds

I love it because I have a Tahoe and I ran my 4/0 the same way , so it makes me feel good I done it right

I like how you keep everything you do neat and organized, I have OCD myself, and being clean, neat and organized is a must for everything I do. Superb video as always.
Everything is amazing. I get lost on the zip ties, though. It would be cool to see some kind of holders made. Not unlike, perhaps, spark plug wire holders. Maybe I'm just too anal lol.
I honestly wish you would show more with wiring personally, because that's the part im least confident on but also is the most dangerous and can lead to the most problems, ie. fires, if not done properly
