    It's NEVER done! Always SOMETHING to do. Something to add. Something to improve. This is video 6 in a project that much like every other build, is hard to call "finished". For the most part though this thing is done! I was trying to find a nice spot for the SMD TM-1 (temp sensor/fan output) and VM-1 (volt meter) and decided to cut the cluster up and drop them in the stock locations. It came out pretty good!
    Thanks for watching!

    That gauge install was awesome! I have to say, not too many people would be willing to take a bunch of power tools to the cluster like that haha. But considering your background in this field of custom work, I'm sure it was just another day at the office haha. Cheers from Canada!

    The extra mile you go to in your install's is exactly why I subscribe! Adding the digital temp & voltage gauges to the instrument cluster is so boss! Your attention to detail is what separates you from all the other installers I've ever come across. Keep the vids coming!

    The dash cluster mod alone sets you apart from most. Factory integration and forward thinking is what the top installers and fabricators use in the country. This is why you charge someone x amount to install a system.

    Soo sick never would have thought to integrate in the dash bezel... that's a super common bezel too won't be surprised if we start seeing more people doing the same thing with your products on there projects. Maybe others have done it but this is the first I've seen. Great job man

    Awesome video series Steve, Esp the father/son base type project...love to see vids like these, and your sons showing such an interest in all the things you do...looks like Jaybird is gonna be jobless soon lol....but anyhow I think this project series is the most common type of build most of us bass heads will end up with...regular box wit some 12's and taking up to a professional install detail by adding the tricked out gauges add on's, as well as the custom amp rack enclosure! Definitely is better then the amp's just screwed down to the top of the box, lol I know i'm guilty of that in my early days haha

    I've been wanting to ask for a bit.. Why install the fans outside the case? Why not inside and then a small grill on the outside?
    1. You won't get your fingers caught in the fan
    2. If you have to put something like a bag down there, it will most likely hit it.
    3. Less dust (grill/filter)

    • @meade916
      @meade916  9 років тому +1

      Because i felt like doing it that way and also because i forgot to call you for advice before i started LOL.
      1. nobody is ever going to put their fingers down there.
      2. a "bag" will never be down there
      3. won't be much dust and it's easy to clean.

    • @mortenmoulder
      @mortenmoulder 9 років тому

      I never meant to target you or anything like that. I was simply trying to wrap my head around it. Maybe you had some reason to do it, but I guess you didn't.

    • @meade916
      @meade916  9 років тому +3

      mortenmoulder 4 fans. Two pushing, two pulling. Really not that complicated. Nothing to "wrap your head around" lol. I could have done it 20 different ways and no matter how i did it, someone out there would say "why didn't you do it like this"....just take it for what it is. It's functional, works perfect and none of the three things you listed are a concern :) thanks though!

    Steve, do you ever have anyone come in that wants a system for listening to something more like classical music instead of sound pressure/bass-focused hip-hop/rap/r&b music? It seems like it'd be a pretty difficult to create a system for soundstage and instrument separation.
    Also, have you had your hearing tested (serious)?

    • @meade916
      @meade916  9 років тому +2

      i addressed this in the video. It is upside down when the seat is closed so it would take a HELL of an angle, probably something no car would drive on to set that light off. It would almost have to be flipped for that to happen. The very first clip i had it a little sensitive at less of an angle but i quickly fixed it.....the seat has to be completely up now for the light to engage and not just lifted a little. So it's fine. Believe me, i got this under control bro. :)

    • @stertheder
      @stertheder 9 років тому

      meade916 and, even if it does come on... its a single LED strip.... it would have to come on and stay on for an entire week straight before it drained the battery enough to be anything noticeable So, if it shorted out, and he did not start, nor charge the car for a week, it still wouldn't be a problem XD
      (Reference, i have a LED strip under my hood, the switch broke, shorted on, drained 120ah battery (Kinetic 1800 + 600x2) from 12.8- 12v with car sitting for a solid week. The Kinetic's are also old and abused)
