Every time I see the battle at the end, I can't stop thinking back when Tom Hardy says something like how he had never heard Christian Bale ever say he was tired, in all the months of shooting. So even though he (Tom) was exhausted, he kept going to keep up with Christian. So during that battle, when Christian said he was tired, Tom just said "me, too" and they just hugged each other lol
@@DaDunge It's not impossible that bane was put down in the pit when he was too young to remember why, and the special thing about Talia isn't even that she's the only one /ever/ born in the pit, just that she escaped it
It's such a fitting line to be delivered to Daggett as well. Daggett's driving force as an antagonist in the animated series is power. Other villains want power, but they use that power to send their message and get their vengeance on Gotham. Daggett has the power already, but he is still willing to step on anybody that gets in his way just to get more power.
I immediately knew that the kid who escaped wasn't Bane, when they showed the kid's face. I knew it because I recognized the kid as Joey King aka a GIRL
It really is impressive, Hardy is not that tall, It was him being massive from another role combined with him dirty bulking to make him look bigger and then the camera angles, He looks 6'4" and above, not 5'9"
Yep. And I'd say it's up there with Heath's improv of the bombs not going off in Dark Knight. Did the scene need it? Not really. But did it make it all that much better?
I would have add that scene when Alfred is Crying in front of the graves... "You trusted in my... and I´ve failed you.." Man, that mourning really got me. Excellent video, as always.
This film is a masterpiece. People don't like it because it followed TDK, which was a bit tighter story wise...so they had to be compared to each other. But this film, like the other two Nolan batman films, surpassed its genre. We all should be appreciative now after the average movies DC has been putting out.
It's not a master piece. It's riddled with clichés and stuff that makes no sense. Not bad for your generic action movie, but certainly bad for a Nolan film.
Batman is a constant, he barely ever changes, the villain is what keeps the movies interesting, which is why Batman doesn’t really have one big archnemisis, but a rotating cast of interesting wacky villains
ITs 'bad' because the Dark knight was perfect. I didnt think all the themes and that were as well executed as they were in the Dark knight but this film is so damn great.
Bane. He was the first movie villain that I truly feared for the possibility of him being real. The Joker was haphazard, and though he was a chilling view in to the chaotic mind of insanity, he was not someone I could see wiping out a city or worse. Bane?...........yes. Utterly. Easily. A magnificently created character by Hardy. Loved him...compelling and locked my attention every second he was on screen. Loved Hathaway as Kyle. For every level of reason. Her first words, her last, her persona, her lack of intimidation by others...the perfect catwoman.
+davidsirmons Finally. Someone who dares to like Bane more than Joker. Personally I think the Joker character was much more memorable than Bane, but I loved TDKR as much as the other two films
Ledger Joker is absolutely fantastic, but I dunno...something about Bane makes me like him a bit more. Joker is the objectively better villain but I love Bane. Maybe a tie?
The Joker was "scarier" in the sense that he was unpredictable and simply wanted to instill chaos. Bane is a more "realistic" threat given the world we live in with terrorism and warlords. It's also their respective motivations. The Joker wants to introduce chaos into the world of order. Bane wants to destroy everything.
19:53 he also has never moved on from the death of his parents, shown when he didn't allow Catwoman to have the pearls. When his dad's final words were "don't be afraid," he tries to do that but when he is climbing out of the pit he moves on and embraces fear, as well as not needing the "rope" that you mentioned earlier. Also, this moment is when he truly becomes Batman and he uses Batman as a symbol for embracing fear, as he embraces his fear of bats.
Blaze Infernus These are my favorite movies, I’ve seen them a million times each, but Batman’s voice is horrible. At this point I’m used to it, but I still can’t stand it. It’s WAY too over the top, and it makes it ridiculous. It makes it hard to watch a lot of scenes specially when you watch it with someone else. Listen to Batman’s voice in Batman Begins, THAT is the perfect Batman voice. Now listen to the “Where’s the trigger” scene in TDKR, it’s ridiculous, it’s painful to watch.
Blaze Infernus Dude just listen to this ua-cam.com/video/IFONsiKnGLo/v-deo.html it’s beautiful. So satisfying to listen. It’s THE perfect Batman voice. Imagine if he was aggressively growling in this scene, it would be ridiculous. I love how in Batman Begins he changes his voice depending on the situation, in this scene he’s very elegant and mysterious and when he has to interrogate Flass he gives a scary SWEAR TO ME. I would honestly pay a lot of money to have the entire trilogy with his Batman Begins voice.
"Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you" One of the movie's best lines IMO as well as "I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope"
Bruce throwing the rope back down to the rest of the prisoners because when one escapes, they all get out...big win, really shows the essence of the Batman
All these years, I did not 100% know that was Selina with him in that final shot. I always thought it was just some woman at a table because they blur her and focus on Batman. The fact he is with catwoman and no one even mentioned it when mentioning the ending. Blew my mine just now. Thank you Cinemawins
Did you also pick up that she was wearing the pearl necklace that was mentioned during their first encounter with each other when she was stealing them from him?
When I first saw it I thought it was Rachel. Which would mean Bruce had actually died and that scene was a hallucination/metaphoric vision by Alfred, signifying that both him and Bruce had finally achieved what they always wanted. Then I went back and confirmed it was Selina. Oh well.
And no "bru-tal" win for that chiropractor bitch-slapping Batman's vertebra/back, (or vertebra's back...), in place of Bruce taking some magic, sciency, tingamagic!
“But if you devote yourself to an ideal. If you make yourself more than just a man. And even if they can’t stop you. Then you become something more.” “And that is?” “Legend Mr Wayne, Legend.” This also the other half of the entire trilogy. Becoming a legend that transcends generations, and truly immortalizing yourself and your legacy
I never got to see The Dark Knight in theaters. This is the only one I actually got to see, and because of that it's really special to me. Personally, I love this movie trilogy and think it's one of the best trilogies of all time. Thank you so much for completing it.
Star Wars (original trilogy), Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight. The three trilogies where people don't put an asterisk next to one of the movies while lauding its awesomeness. Oh, they each have weaker and stronger entries, but not bad entries.
Madhav Sharma Work hard in a movie theatre. Create your own. Or become the manager. Then you can dedicate certain screens for your own use, movies, video games, TV..
@CinemaWins if you're wondering how Bruce made it back to Gotham the answer is somewhat simple, but the question is answered across the trilogy rather spelt out for audiences. Basically before training with the League of Shadows, Bruce Wayne used criminal methods to travel the world (and also to understand the criminal mind) so it stands to reason he combined some of these methods with his League of Shadows training to make it back to Gotham. As for how he got back into Gotham City itself, Bruce mentions that Wayne Manor is outside the city limits in The Dark Knight, and in Batman Begins, Alfred notes that their was a tunnel between Gotham City and the Batcave that the Underground Railroad utilized to offer slaves sanctuary at Wayne Manor, so it would make sense for Bruce to be able to access Wayne Manor without alerting the League, then use the tunnels to make it into Gotham. So basically he either stowed away on a plane or stole a car in order to get back to Wayne Manor, then got his gear and followed the tunnel through to Gotham itself, which definitely seems possible in a 3 week span.
Yeah I've never really got this "issue" with the movie. As said in the video "He's freaking Batman" How does someone as intelligent and resourceful as Batman NOT get anywhere the hell he wants within 3 weeks? "He had no money" Because Batman can't steal vehicles or sneak his way on to them, it's not like Batman has any stealth skills what so ever and no vehicles ever travel to the vicinity of Gotham.
My problem isn’t that Batman gets back in the city it’s that it just jumps to him being there. It was out of sync with the rest of the trilogy’s ability to show us Batman’s intellect. It would be like in Dark Knight if Fox introduces that Skyhook thing and bam the movie cut to Batman delivering that Chinese guy to GPD. We missed out on what could have been an interesting story element. Because Batman.
You know in retrospect it’s kinda messed up how Bruce didn’t even tell Alfred. He just let poor Alfred endure that heartache, could’ve at least gave him a phone call. Lmao
*"They're morals, they're code. It's a bad joke. Drop at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these, these civilized people. They'll eat each other."* Love how everything the Joker predicted came true in this movie. When Harvey's crimes were exposed, people lost hope and anarchy took it's place. It took Batman rising through pain to save them, only then was he able to finally defeat the Joker by destroying the anarchy he inspired. What a movie.
I loved this movie, if it wasn't for the previous movie being the Dark Knight, I think this would've gotten all the fanfare, respect, and prestige it deserves. It would be the best of the trilogy and one of the top Batman movies out there in everyone's mind. As it is, it's still a fairly close second to the Dark Knight in my mind.
2012 I saw this movie in theaters with a friend and my older brother and unfortunately he passed away at the age of 27 in 2016 so whenever I watch this movie I think of him I even remember all the scenes me and him laughed at in theater and now when I watch those parts I can hear his laugh in my head. Makes you realize what’s actually important in life. The whole cast of all three movies are just simply amazing “You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable….but mistaken” I love Bane’s quotes they’re so powerful
I think my favorite under-celebrated scene is the one where the doctor is telling him how wrecked his body is from being Batman for several years. No cartilage left pretty much anywhere on his skeleton from years of beating bad guys to a pulp with his bare hands. It’s the ultimate realism win for this movie, and one of the few things that’s almost never addressed in its original medium, comics.
Tom Hardy's Bane really does it's own uniqueness. He was one of my favorite villains from the trilogy other than Joker, and Ra's, of course. His performance really helped me appreciate the character more.
Trivia: Bane's habit of gripping his lapels came from the actor lifting a part of his costume to let air into his mask. I like that the director of these movies integrates mundane quirks into the characters. It makes them seem more real and unique.
Heath wasn't irritated by them. The prosthetics would become unglued (or something like that) due to his mouth constantly moving and drying up the adhesive, so instead of having them constantly touched up, he just licked his lips to keep them glued in place.
Screw all the criticisms surrounding Bane. He was flawless, and it's all because of Tom Hardy's great performance. Nothing about the character was wasted. He was even better than Bane is in the comics. He felt like a far more meaningful villain here in this movie.
❤❤❤ Anne Hathaway in this, talk about someone who slipped into Selena Kyle's personality like a hand into a glove;she totally nailed it,and she's my favorite on-screen iteration of this character.
I love your channel. We need more POSITIVITY in the world. It's too easy and lazy to be nitpicky about a movie's sins. But you do what we need. Thank you!
Also a lot of cinemasins' content is really repetitive (That's not possible, this is cliche, etc.) This is actually really original dialogue for the most part.
The voice is bad. Perhaps even worse once it was released on dvd/blu-ray. At least in theaters it sounded more raw and not like a guy with a megaphone strapped to his face.
As a kid, before realising the horror of killing folks, I found Joker so cool. How he didn't let anything get in his way, he thought his way out of situations, and didn't take everything too seriously. Two-face scared me because of his appearance. But Bane terrified me in every way. I just feel like it'd be more relaxing to be in Joker's crew rather than Bane's. I get that Joker murdered the robbery crew, but that was before he really had a use for goons. Bane just strangles a dude in front of all the other goons and no one bats an eye.
If my knowledge of the movie is correct. Barnes mask feeds him morphine! In the final fight Batman aims particularly at his mask. Each time pumping more and more morphine so when he was throwing those punches, he was high as fuck on morphine he couldn't feel a god damn thing! I fell why that last combo looks so brutal!👌👌
Batman in the first fight with Bane calling him a "psychopath" then Bane pausing a second and letting rip with a mad volley of gut punches is also a win, and quite a funny moment too
It's true that Tom Hardy did a great job as Bane, but Heath Ledger's joker was far more memorable. Your comment at 13:11, "Bruce finally escapes the pit. He fell down the well as a child and has always been there. His father rescued him with a rope, Harvey was his rope to leave Batman behind, Rachel was his rope to escape the fear of being alone. He finally drops the rope and jumps to freedom, embracing and owning the fear to the chants of 'rise', is one of the most emotionally charged scenes in this trilogy.", in regards to the rope metaphor is spot on! Great insight! And let's face it, while "The Dark Knight" was Heath Ledger's film, in "The Dark Knight Rises", the beautifully and talented Anne Hathaway is her's, she steals every scene she is in! :)
Well tom hardy's bane is the best bane movie wise. And in my opinion, tom hardy steals the show in this film almost every time he speaks until after the football scene
Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy both steal the scenes they're in. Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors, so for these two to pull this off really is a feat.
Every time I hear Banes voice, specifically the “You think darkness is your ally?” quote, I immediately picture Terroriser speaking into a Sour Cream and Onion Pringles Can.
My opinion is not popular when it comes to Hathaway's Catwoman as I loved her in the role. Even more deep thinking than the Batman, almost on Bane's level. Mischievious, manipulative, and ultimately does act out of her heart and showing Batman how he can do the same. While Bane taught Bruce to strengthen his spirit, Selena taught him how to accept hope.
Jack haha yeah totally agree on her sexiness. She even got two wins for riding the Bat pod in the catwoman suit xD I mean, just look at her :o Not just good looking, but a lot of her beauty comes through through her acting and expressions as well. She carries the smooth elegance and flirtatious nature of her character as Catwoman so bloody well, I don't think anyone else could have pulled it off as well as she did. This role really suited her personality and acting ability.
WOW! three people that like her in the role! Thank you!!! Other than my wife saying how much she liked her, all I've heard is negative things. Y'all have made my day!
My opinion's probably more unpopular, while I loved Hathaway as Catwoman I don't like Michelle Pfeiffer in the role at all. Actually I wasn't that excited about Anne Hathaway being cast until it turned out she was actually amazing. Pfeiffer... she didn't entertain me in the slightest.
Not only is this a cinematic masterpiece and one of, if not the greatest renditions of “real life” Batman. But I have an early memory watching the scene be filmed in Pittsburgh where all the cops and thugs are going at each other; while Batman and Bane go at it. One of the greatest memories with my dad❤
For the record, bane was actually more like the one in the dark knight rises in the comics than he is in other portrayals as just a brute, yes his fighting style was brutish but he was truly a very smart man and canonicly speaking he was the FIRST person to figure out who batman was in the comics, so bane gets full points for me
As iconic and important as Begins and TDK were, Rises is actually my favourite of the Nolan trilogy, in a similar way to Jedi being my favourite from the original Star Wars trilogy. TDK and ESB are clearly the better films, but the ones I love most are Rises and Jedi. - Begins/New Hope established their respective worlds and yet, while entertaining and fun, overshadowed by their sequels. - Dark Knight/Empire are clearly in the upper echelons of "Great Movies" and deservedly so. The villains have their time to shine and in counterpoint show us exactly why we love the heroes so much. - Rises/Jedi have the unenviable task of following a much beloved film while also trying to conclude their respective Act III. Yet, they also contain the most emotional weight and some of the best soundtrack moments of all. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched Rises and Jedi and still enjoy them thoroughly.
Very well said! I agree wholeheartedly! It's like everything you said there was completely right, in my opinion.. Though I'll say I'm a bigger star wars fan, the dark knight trilogy is a masterpiece of character driven cinema! It may not be as iconic but man is it underrated for what it was; incredible!👌🏽
I was hoping for a ding from the totally casual nonchalance of Bane knitting during the trials. I mean...it was awesome. Also, I work for a chiropractor and the pain they showed of the slipped disk-omg yes they hurt that badly and usually take days-weeks of very gentle work to get back into place.
7:07 I love this part so much because he’s saying 2 things in the most badass way possible. 1- showing of his firepower and how easily he can use it and 2- showing they wouldn’t shoot him because they’re too afraid/uncertain. And I just noticed a 3rd- he just doesn’t care, he’s got a job to do and won’t let them slow him down

FINALLY !!! By the way Bruce Wayne enters Gotham via the tunnels under Wayne's manoir, in "The dark knigh" when he was at dinner with Harvey Dent someone said that Wayne's Manoir is not in Gotham but in the edge of the city PS: Sorry for my english
Yup. In Batman Begins, Alfred also tells Bruce that there are underground rail road systems connecting Wayne Manor's cave system throughout the country. One that Bruce's great grandfather used to transport slaves in the civil war.
Edin Thought I would mention, your English is perfectly understandable, I wouldn't worry about it man. Besides that, great way to bring up the location of where Wayne Manor is located. If it was actually located in Gotham, I feel like people would've definitely figured out the connection
this film is the reason I fell in love with movies in general. I didn't know anything about the tdk trilogy (or batman for that matter) I just watched rises, and it was an emotional rollercoaster. I later watched begins and tdk which was an even better experience. People are way too harsh on this film... Your videos are awesome dude. you have so much references to other films in your videos. I miss most of them, but I got that Bean from Ender's Game and Angier from The Prestige reference.
Mujtaba Ibrahim same here man, I did watch BB and TDK first, but TDKR was something else entirely, the emotional rollercoaster, the ways it ends the storylines and the continuation of themes, awesome stuff.
This is honestly my favorite of the Nolan Trilogy and my second favorite of every Batman Movie created (I will always have a soft spot for Keaton and Burton). The line "Do you feel in charge?" instantly made this movie iconic for me! Hathaway's Catwoman was fascinating to watch as she switches from frightened maid to devilishly sexy in a matter of seconds. The opening of the film is my second favorite superhero opening sequence (DP is just....it's hilarious!) and I rewatch that scene alone for inspiration or just to be in awe! I completely understand why everyone loves Dark Knight and Ledger's Joker which will never be topped, but Hardy as Bane just connected in a way I could never imagine a villain doing! This is all a matter of opinion and I hope people respect it as I will respect yours
So I went out to get some McDonalds for Breakfast, I'm a very unsafe driver so along the way I pulled my phone out and went to youtube to find some music to soothe my sunday morning soul, I saw this and I literally screamed in excitement and joy and couldn't wait to get home to watch the video. Seriously I've been addicted to binge watching your videos over and over, it's gotten to the point that when I watched Ragnorak in the cinema a few weeks ago as I was watching I was getting excited and hyped just thinking about how you were going to react to it. It kind of makes no sense but yeah, when I watch movies now I'm literally thinking about how you'd react and honestly it's made me enjoy movies so much more now. 4:51 The thing about Superman is, no one actually expects him to have a secret identity. Because he flies around all the time, and wears no mask, then people don’t believe he even has a human identity, so they don’t even look. And even if they do, they probably assume he’s a celebrity or something. Not many people are gonna believe that the most powerful man on the Planet is really just some random Newspaper Columnist. There’s even an old comic where Lex Luther builds a machine to decipher Superman’s identity. It does just that, but he doesn’t believe it. He declares it broken and has it destroyed.
@@jessicav931 I saw a video long time ago here in youtube where Henry Cavill the actor superman poses near a billboard of the movie and no one recognizes him lol.
The point brought up at 7:24 about that performer kinda "diving" without looking like they were hit: A gun falls to the ground in the background around where that person stumbles and falls. I believe Batman threw the gun from one guy at the one who falls, but you couldnt see it because it was just slightly above frame.
As a Criminal Justice major, I love to look at this trilogy as a study on terrorism. People think terror is about fear, and they're not wrong, but there's also an aspect of political motivation: here it's anarchy. These films also love to comment on resentment of the bourgeois, the ethics of vigilantism, the ethics of ignoring privacy for the greater good, how the public responds to a 9/11 styled incident, etc etc.
This... This was the ending of a trilogy I've wanted to see for a while. In my opinion, TDK is the best, but this is still a great movie. Several wins here *insert win sound effect*. Tom Hardy killed it (BTW, who else couldn't really tell it was Tom Hardy?) but I'm not really suprised. He is a great actor, after all. The plot twist was kinda outta nowhere, and I didn't really enjoy it too much. This was the ending that we deserved, and the one we needed right now. I feel like it was the perfect ending to a great trilogy. However, as a standalone movie, I felt it didn't really stand up, as opposed to BB and TDK which could stand on their own. Overall, great movie and video, keep up the good work!
Th3 RandomN3rd I could never quite recognize Tom and Bane in each other until Dunkirk, when we were constantly seeing him with and without a face mask. Now I can’t unsee them.
I just don’t see ANY of Tom Hardy in Bane! Different body, different voice, face covered, bald... I know it’s him but my brain just can’t click with it! Love these movies❤️
13:11 you genius you 🤗 I would've NEVER made that correlation between the well & the pit. It's why i love your channel. Not only do i get to enjoy someone else enjoyment of these movies. But I learn so much about subtext, context, themes, scores, etc. Thanks, like really. I appreciate what you do.
1:50 I agree with this so much. My friend and I even took to calling this version of the character “Mastermind Bane” as to differentiate him from the comic version when we talked about him.
I love how they show the cunning of Bane. In the comics they always showed him being smart. He was able to figure out why Batman was by the jawline, and beat Ra Al Ghul in a chess match! This man is a beast physically and mentally!
17:01, I think that dichotomy actually does a nice parallel to Batman’s fight against the Mutant Leader in Dark Knight Returns; both feature and older, somewhat weakened bat fighting a relatively young, uninjured opponent who is a physical tank; In both fights, Batman is brutally defeated by the opponenent’s overbearing strength; in the second fight for both opponents, batman wins by using his intelligence and strategic abilities, against Bane targeting his mask and against the Mutant Leader first blinding him then using pins and locks to break his bones/joints.
Also, I think that Bane's appearance is based on Bane's appearance in the comics AND the Mutant Leader's: Like in the comics, Bane wears a glove; during the first fight, his vest, pants and boots combined look like his wrestling singlet from the comics and the morphine in the tubes of his mask seem to be inspired by Venom. When Bane was topless, he looked like the Mutant Leader: He wore boots, was bald and the tubes of his mask look like the Mutant Leader's teeth. PS: Just like the Mutant Leader, Bane's responsible for the death of Gotham's mayor.
I still can't believe you didnt include the jump. it was like Bruce was stuck in time, but for the one brief moment during the jump, no slow mo, only 1 cut, and no sound. it was still so amazing to me. as if time started moving again for Bruce when he made that jump.
Your analysis of the Rise scene added a completely new layer I'd never thought about. After some very unfortunate things happened to me today, the idea that one can "rise without the 'rope' of others" is just what I needed to hear!
I like what you said about what qualifies for "always a win" with Gary Oldman. Every time I see him and talk about how amazing he is at becoming his character, I always make the point that Gordon and Sirius Black are the same dam person!

It's not a master piece. It's riddled with clichés and stuff that makes no sense. Not bad for your generic action movie, but certainly bad for a Nolan film.

Batman Movies are about the villain not the hero
Batman is a constant, he barely ever changes, the villain is what keeps the movies interesting, which is why Batman doesn’t really have one big archnemisis, but a rotating cast of interesting wacky villains
this movie is a masterpiece, I enjoyed it just as much as TDK
Doctor Choppa totally agreed.
Definitely. This movie gets way too much hate
Agreed
jacksepticeye fan Totally agreed. This trilogy is perfection.
ITs 'bad' because the Dark knight was perfect. I didnt think all the themes and that were as well executed as they were in the Dark knight but this film is so damn great.
No win for the line "The shadows betray you because they BELONG TO ME"
SK He's dead
Bane wants to destroy everything.
davidsirmons you’re absolutely right joker wouldn’t destroy a city. He wouldn’t want to. He’d want to plunge it into chaos.

This comment sums up so many differences about these two channels...
This channel changes the way I look at movies thanks dude
Ben Gates I come here to comment SPECIFICALLY that and what is the literal FIRST comment I see?!? THIS!!!
3:15 - took me a bit to find it again
19:53 he also has never moved on from the death of his parents, shown when he didn't allow Catwoman to have the pearls. When his dad's final words were "don't be afraid," he tries to do that but when he is climbing out of the pit he moves on and embraces fear, as well as not needing the "rope" that you mentioned earlier. Also, this moment is when he truly becomes Batman and he uses Batman as a symbol for embracing fear, as he embraces his fear of bats.
And at the end she has the pearls on
Anne Hathaway's performance and character development throughout the course of the movie are very underrated. She killed it in TDKR.
At least one person, yes.
I totally I agree. I loved the Bane accent. Tom Hardy definitely did a good job.
Blaze Infernus Did they do that with Batman’s voice? Because it really needs to
Blaze Infernus These are my favorite movies, I’ve seen them a million times each, but Batman’s voice is horrible.
Holy crap......that pit is this trilogy’s LAZARUS PIT.
How did I not realize this until now?
Arkhivez same lol
Pretty mind blowing
Same!
With dude I never thought about it...
it really isn't though. it is pena dura the hellish prison bane comes from in the comics.
"Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you" One of the movie's best lines IMO as well as "I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope"
Bruce throwing the rope back down to the rest of the prisoners because when one escapes, they all get out...big win, really shows the essence of the Batman
that was incredible! He conquered the Lazarus Pit altogether. I suppose, since it became Bain's, that it was a way of weakening his power.
@@danielhenderson3753
Also it hinted at Ra's Arabic and Asian ancestry within the pit like his comic origin
Can we appreciate Cillian Murphy? That man is a legend too.
Peaky Blinders
I wish he had more to do.
Oh well.
Anne Hathaway has a very distinct profile lol
Yeah this movie doesn’t just blow your mind, it _decimates_ it
No win for "and then...you have my permission to die." ?
I would’ve been a callback win
The_other_black_guy I swear I said the same thing
And no "bru-tal" win for that chiropractor bitch-slapping Batman's vertebra/back, (or vertebra's back...), in place of Bruce taking some magic, sciency, tingamagic!
13:37 You also forgot a Win for being a nice guy and throwing the rope down!
"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain."
That's the approach they took for this series. It's a good approach.
“But if you devote yourself to an ideal. If you make yourself more than just a man. And even if they can’t stop you. Then you become something more.”
“And that is?”
“Legend Mr Wayne, Legend.”
This also the other half of the entire trilogy. Becoming a legend that transcends generations, and truly immortalizing yourself and your legacy
The pit escape scene has to be one of the most rousing sequences in cinematic history.
I never got to see The Dark Knight in theaters. This is the only one I actually got to see, and because of that it's really special to me. Personally, I love this movie trilogy and think it's one of the best trilogies of all time. Thank you so much for completing it.
TheHero136 Any Nolan movie is special in theatres. Have you seen Dunkirk
Star Wars (original trilogy), Lord of the Rings, Dark Knight. The three trilogies where people don't put an asterisk next to one of the movies while lauding its awesomeness. Oh, they each have weaker and stronger entries, but not bad entries.
Same here. DKR was the only one I was old enough to see in theaters.
I never got to see any movie from the trilogy in the theaters :(
I seriously hope one day they release this trilogy again on the big screen.
As said in the video "He's freaking Batman"
How does someone as intelligent and resourceful as Batman NOT get anywhere the hell he wants within 3 weeks?
"He had no money"
Because Batman can't steal vehicles or sneak his way on to them, it's not like Batman has any stealth skills what so ever and no vehicles ever travel to the vicinity of Gotham.
Deathlygunn I thought he used the bat’s auto pilot !
Deathlygunn rhats great too bad everything needs to be spelled out for the movie going public

Love how everything the Joker predicted came true in this movie. When Harvey's crimes were exposed, people lost hope and anarchy took it's place. It took Batman rising through pain to save them, only then was he able to finally defeat the Joker by destroying the anarchy he inspired. What a movie.
Darth Maul especially considering that the movie is basically a back up plan
In this context, it’s ‘their’, not ‘they’re’
One personal win for me is that they include the "rise" chanting in key moments throughout the movie, not just the pit scene.
I would say Rises is definitely second to TDK, but I think some of its failings are made up for in something's working better than in TDK

MAN DOES EVERY SINGLE BANE DIALOGUE DESERVE A WIN!!! ITS SOOO SOOTHING TO LISTEN TO!!!
LIKE HEATH IN TDK, TOM STEALS THE ENTIRE SHOW IN TDKR!!
FOR YOU
Tom Hardy's Bane really does it's own uniqueness. He was one of my favorite villains from the trilogy other than Joker, and Ra's, of course. His performance really helped me appreciate the character more.
Simpleton OS FOR YOU
Do you feel in charge?
...so guess you never read a comic.
Trivia: Bane's habit of gripping his lapels came from the actor lifting a part of his costume to let air into his mask. I like that the director of these movies integrates mundane quirks into the characters. It makes them seem more real and unique.
Really? Because Ra's Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) did the same gripping in Batman Begins, if I recall.
Tre Drago you are correct. A friend pointed that out to me and I thought it was a fun little detail that add something to Bane's character.
That's like how the Joker licking his lips was due to Heath Ledger being irritated by the prosthetic applications on his face.
Tom Hardy is ALWAYS a win.

The voice is bad. Perhaps even worse once it was released on dvd/blu-ray. At least in theaters it sounded more raw and not like a guy with a megaphone strapped to his face.
I'm more concerned with the fact that his inflection makes him sound like Deckard Cain
What I liked most about it is that I didn't know it was Tom Hardy until after the movie
Paul van der Kolf That's....what...how??

As a kid, before realising the horror of killing folks, I found Joker so cool. How he didn't let anything get in his way, he thought his way out of situations, and didn't take everything too seriously. Two-face scared me because of his appearance. But Bane terrified me in every way. I just feel like it'd be more relaxing to be in Joker's crew rather than Bane's. I get that Joker murdered the robbery crew, but that was before he really had a use for goons. Bane just strangles a dude in front of all the other goons and no one bats an eye.
Tom Hardy probably is actually Bane and is part of a criminal underworld that rules the entire universes.
Damn that man is intimidating
I love Tom Hardy's physical acting at 16:55, Bane just flies into a pain-fueled final rage.
My personal mancrush
I've tried to replicate his continuous punches a lot ngl 😂
Ye mine too
If my knowledge of the movie is correct. Barnes mask feeds him morphine! In the final fight Batman aims particularly at his mask. Each time pumping more and more morphine so when he was throwing those punches, he was high as fuck on morphine he couldn't feel a god damn thing! I fell why that last combo looks so brutal!👌👌
How are you not going to win Michael Caine’s, “and I failed you!” Probably the most emotional a superhero movie ever made me until Logan.
Cap
I have failed you Anakin. I have failed you
Thank you so much for this! This movie is probably the best third chapter in a superhero trilogy and most people didn't even notice that
Notice what
Batman in the first fight with Bane calling him a "psychopath" then Bane pausing a second and letting rip with a mad volley of gut punches is also a win, and quite a funny moment too
"Also, Banes a freaking beast" lol. Best line. Best win.
To me it's more like JGL's coming- of-age story than Hathaway's
Every time I hear Banes voice, specifically the “You think darkness is your ally?” quote, I immediately picture Terroriser speaking into a Sour Cream and Onion Pringles Can.
Lmao every time. Nothing but BLINDING
My opinion is not popular when it comes to Hathaway's Catwoman as I loved her in the role. Even more deep thinking than the Batman, almost on Bane's level. Mischievious, manipulative, and ultimately does act out of her heart and showing Batman how he can do the same. While Bane taught Bruce to strengthen his spirit, Selena taught him how to accept hope.
jaspr1999 Agree wholeheartedly, I loved her in this. (Also the sexiest she's ever been dear God)
I haven't seen a single person who hated her in that role. Most people were either like 'meh' or liked her.
WOW! three people that like her in the role!

It may not be as iconic but man is it underrated for what it was; incredible!👌🏽

this film is the reason I fell in love with movies in general.
The “So that’s what that feels like” line is also a direct lift from “Kingdom Come,” when Superman disappears on him. So it’s definitely a win!

The definition of terrorism is literally violence against peoples with political motivation.
Th3 RandomN3rd
Batman Begins is better than The Dark Knight
Finally someone who does the Dark Knight Rises justice!
I just can't get enough of this channel!!
One of the main reasons i go on youtube ^^^ this guy: Cinemawins
15:42Anne hatheaways body is always a win
Oh yeah! That beautiful butt she has looks amazing in black leather!
11:20 thats acturly the actors descripton of the singing and was unscripted
that's why it sounds so sincere. thanks for sharing. who is the singer?
Andy Tay im sorry im not entirely sure
If there’s CinemaSins then there’s CinemaWins, and CinemaWins always Wins. Period.
it’s half past 11 pm in Germany, I can’t sleep, so thank you lots man for something to watch rn
Also, I think that Bane's appearance is based on Bane's appearance in the comics AND the Mutant Leader's:
Like in the comics, Bane wears a glove;
during the first fight, his vest, pants and boots combined look like his wrestling singlet from the comics
and the morphine in the tubes of his mask seem to be inspired by Venom.
When Bane was topless, he looked like the Mutant Leader: He wore boots, was bald and the tubes of his mask look like the Mutant Leader's teeth.
PS: Just like the Mutant Leader, Bane's responsible for the death of Gotham's mayor.
16:54 that scene always gives me chills the way he blocks every swing
I still can't believe you didnt include the jump. it was like Bruce was stuck in time, but for the one brief moment during the jump, no slow mo, only 1 cut, and no sound. it was still so amazing to me. as if time started moving again for Bruce when he made that jump.
Talia may have been planting seeds of hope in Bruce but only after he planted his seed in her ;)
Dude wtf =)))))) 😂😂😂😂 I cracked up so hilarious
I love how much you talked about the score. Also how do you leave out the line, "Not everything, not yet."
Your analysis of the Rise scene added a completely new layer I'd never thought about. After some very unfortunate things happened to me today, the idea that one can "rise without the 'rope' of others" is just what I needed to hear!
I hope you're doing better now man
I come back to these videos every now and then. Love cinema wins
I like what you said about what qualifies for "always a win" with Gary Oldman. Every time I see him and talk about how amazing he is at becoming his character, I always make the point that Gordon and Sirius Black are the same dam person!
