Business is business, Randy. What ever works for you, but I can for sure empathize with that one customer every season that makes you want to quit all together. Been there, done that. It is true in every business, not just bees. I was a remodeling contractor and some folks cannot communicate and just won't listen at all. No pleasing them.. Don't worry, be happy!
You picked a profession that comes with a GUARANTEE to have at least one customer a month that will make you want to move to another planet!
I really enjoy the photography when you get the chance to share! It sets you apart.
Keep it coming!
Those bees are so chill because they are at the vacation house!
I think you deserve a house like that one, Dirt Rooster. 😊
Just want to say that that was a beautiful hive even though I’m not a beekeeper I surely enjoy watching you remove the bees. You’re so gentle and kind and educational so keep up the great work and I’ll keep watching all the way from Canada.🇨🇦🐝🇨🇦
Great video. That timelapse is on point! I've watched it 10 times and it never gets old. Great job. Now get outta my yard Mr.!
Sup Yappy
I truly didn’t mean to be such a nightmare. I just thought I deserved 5 frames of solid brood instead of four and also bees that wouldn’t sting. Was that asking too much???😁😁
Also, did you inspect every day this week and still couldn’t find the queen?
@@628DirtRooster oh yea, I did that too. There ain’t no queen!!😁😁
My blood pressure got up 1/2 way through this comment until I realized it was Mike!🤣🤣
Randy ,always thankyou for posting and inspiring us with the positive attitude.Wheres Pete?
@@timmorris7022 Pete is still around.
They are a love swarm of bees. Good find with the queen too. Had all the chill Mr Ed's last lot had lost 🤣
Those bees were probably nice and relaxed because they were at their vacation resort😂
That's a possibility
I have always thought that you would do well to make not just money but your version of what bee's can use for homes and homeowners, to bring the bee's backyard so to say.
I have some hive designs that can serve non beekeepers who just want bees on their property but don't want to maintain them.
I love to hear you Talk your way through A swarm Capture.... Your photography So lovely to look at. You have always been good And you're even getting better now Beautiful pictures. Thank you. 😀
To leave that trowel for them. They need a straight edge to keep the wiggle out of the comb edge!😂🤣😅 Pretty gorgeous hive.
Nice place, nice comb, nice gear... Lovely day!
It definitely was a lovely day! Thanks for the support Mr. Chapman. :)
My mouth is watering just looking at that beautiful honeycomb.😊
So good
That was a lot of bees for a 5 frame nuc. I expected you to put them in a standard box. Definitely a chill bunch of bees.
I might answer this on a live stream. It's a good question no one really addresses.
Yep time is the big thing. not so much the money. You can always make more money, but time you can't make more of
What an incredible find! They were just hanging out waiting for you to come rehome them.
I always love the photography you include. Good eye Randy!
IM THE GUY THAT MET YOU AND YOUR WIFE IN OXFORD MS. HOPE THINGS WENT OK ENJOYED MEETING YOU AND YOUR WIFE. STEVE SYKES
Hey Steve
It was a pleasure running into you and your wife at the gas station. Glad you said hello.
Beautiful house and area. Like that they cut out the deck and kept the cypress tree. Keep the photos coming. Great job on your videos. Take care.
Those girls wanted a weekend home and you messed it up! Changed their view. Shame shame 😂😂
They picked an absolutely beautiful place. Wish I could have shared more of the house.
For new or non-beekeepers, comb in brand new colonies is VERY fragile. Too weak to support itself, so you can't rubber band it into frames as you would normally do with older comb. Ah well. But that was a huge colony, for only swarming a few weeks ago.
Correction you can it is very delicate and very time consuming to frame it and support it without collapsing or breaking it. Think very thin bone China. Breaks if you look at it wrong. Normally not worth the time necessary to save it. But you can I have but only in desperation.
You are an amazing bee keeper
Yhep... There is always "that" client... 30 years as a Luthier dealing with Prima Donna Guitarists took it's toll on my sanity🤣
I ain't mad at them but they sure can shape or change the way you do business.
What a gorgeous house and I'm jealous of the weather even without the sun. We got snow with more on the way ☹
Where I’m the world do you live, the North Pole? Lol
@@628DirtRooster Close...I'm in Canada LOL
@@628DirtRooster North pole is 70 and sunny. They are probably in Montana or some place high altitude. I was in Florida last month and it was warmer in Alaska for a few days. Getting ready to go back down there to hit the beach.
I had no idea honey bees could set up a new hive that big that quickly.
Wow, those bees barely budged when you exposed them. Idk if I've ever seen more docile bees before.
Beautiful comb. Great idea to freeze some for when times are tough 😁👍
Very good video , really beginning to understand more about your beekeeping life.
You live in a beautiful area and your honey taste so different that the southwest desert honey I normally get! But your honey is so good on my wife’s biscuits !🤓😎👍👅
Hi there. And tell mr Ed i watch u as well. 😂😂. And. Greetings to all the guys.
Time is important. You're doing the right thing for you and your family.
Another very nice swarm. Swarm season is here, got a call about 3 more today.
Wow! That is an awesome hive....those girls have been really busy!
At my last house i planted a tree in the middle of a deck. I designed. I needed the shade. I loved it. The guy building the deck thought i was crazy. I am. But not about that.
I like that kind of thing
That was amazing! My mouth is watering!
I'm so glad I was able to watch this episode, Randy! Fantastic video, pics, house & area! Thank you!! 💜🐝
Glad you enjoyed it
Me and my buddy are quickly finding out how much fun these are to do!! Great video, love the time lapse stuff too!!! Got a couple totes coming out of the deep freeze to crush and strain tomorrow!!! Keep cranking out the inspiration brother!
Been following along. I'm loving your videos.
@@628DirtRooster thank you sir, great inspiration to follow up!!! Out here living my dream daily!!! Praying all is well with you and yours.
if you having a problem giving guidance to new bee keepers because it takes up alot of time try making a few videos explaining what to do so you can just send them the links to those videos
Randy has loads of videos. He has given tons of information. He helped me get over my fear of bees. There are not very many subjects that he doesn't have a video for when it comes to bees, equipment, disease, parasites, feed, pheromones pollination etc etc.....
And 7 years ago I started keeping bees, I don't think he has a video I haven't watched. He has taught me a library of knowledge.
Beautiful Gulf Beaches!
I love the content. Thank you for the photos at end of the video. Love your part of America…….
4:01 -- Wow ! The girls have been busy.
Great video! I've seen every one of your videos that you have put out and I don't think I've seen that much snow white comb in any of them or that calm of bees! As I learn from You, Mike and Fred, I see it for what it is. Hope you are able to anchor them into your Apiary. Like always, your photography at the end is always a true plus to the whole video!! 🤟
They must have been working like trojans to produce that much wax that quickly.
As of today they are still in my apiary so that's good news.
I see you still keep that thang on ya ;) (the bee suit in this case :-D )
Ha! Yes, it's a little worn at this point.
Dang Randy,,, that is a beautiful hive.should of replaced the plywood with glass an turned it into an observation hive on the lake..
It would be a great conversation piece for guests.
Great video Randy. Awesome pictures as always. That had to have been a huge swarm. I bet it put on a show moving in!
Privet smells good, but it’s an invasive species.
Hey DirtRooster hope you are having a a blessed day and have a blessed bee season
Really nice work Randy. Blessings to you and your family 👍🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Enjoyed the video, buddy. That was a very nice swarm.
Awesome hive, I know what you mean about that one person, I had one guy who wanted 10 frames of bees in a 5 frame nuc. The pubic is something special lol.
Hereford pigs have some of the best tasting meat available. Find a local grower of Hereford pigs and get you feeder pig.
Kune Kune pigs are really good for field grass control. They don't root the grasses and don't destroy the plant like a goat does. Added bonus, Kune's taste good too
Allways have to check the swedish name... This time swedes have tsjrn the Lstin name and made it into Linguster. Now I will know Privit hedge for a few minuts before I forget all about it again. Allways intresting to see you at work!
Man, that was a nice swarm! Good job. Great slide show as usual! Cheers, guys.
Thanks 👍
WOW just found out where my anchor went from my John boat . It is on display. LOL . Thanks I always enjoy the pictures at the end also . You do great on both counts. Thanks
Don't you wish they were all that calm!??? What a pretty hive and beautiful home.
That would be amazing. Everyone would want our bees then.
Wow, Randy, now thats a beautifulhive!
Those bees did a fine job.
Headaches and nightmares! You sound tired. At least you had a pleasant hive removal. Those hot air balloon shots were great but I like the train tracks most.
I'm always running on fumes this time of year.
Cool video rooster : don't see how on earth you found that queen with that many bees .
You develop and eye for them.
Great video Randy and a beautiful hive!
brother your camera angles were great, your doing a fantastic job. I noticed that house you were at, had a diving board, I am sure y'all have gators up there as well.
I used a suction cup mount on the elevator door glass. We do have gators here, but they won't bother swimmers.
Is the bridge on the last photo one of the rotating kind? Beautiful photos!
It does rotate to allow marine traffic through.
@@628DirtRooster
Thought I recognized that design. There were 2 across the Inland waterway in N.C. where I lived about 40 years ago.
Thanks for the memories!
@@curiousone6129 This one rotates multiple times daily.
Nice calm bees.
Mane.... That was a purdy colony!
We'd do the same with work.... good thinking on condensing the work load while yet making a profit in other avenue's.
We had a customer that had an elevator in their home that Hannah and I could barely fit in. One day I talked her into riding on it. While heading north on it, I hit the emergency stop between floors (like Gibbs on NCIS) She wasn't happy after it taking the things 30 minutes to start again! 😁
Enjoy it, y'all have a blessed one.
Oh boy, I would have ripped that elevator apart if I was stuck in there. I was never claustrophobic until I had an MRI in a machine that was too narrow for my shoulders. I was wadded up in there with my arms locked across my chest for a half hour and then the little motorized bed that slides you up in there didn't want to pull me out when it was time. A few years after that, Elizabeth and I got in an elevator at Gulf Shores and about ten strangers piled in with us. The doors closed and the thing locked up for about four or five minutes, I believe it was because we exceeded the weight limit. The doors wouldn't open and no one was responding on the emergency call button. This was in the heat of summer and it was in a parking garage so it was getting hot in there fast. All I could think was a dozen people are about to cook in this cable operated hot box. I almost lost it in there. If it hadn't opened I was about to do damage. Elizabeth got snippy because I was "upsetting" the other people. I was like, It's their fault we're stuck and I ain't going out like this.
@@628DirtRooster "I was like, It's their fault we're stuck and I ain't going out like this."
Yeah... Nice... Always someone else's fault. Somehow, you contributed in no way to the whole shebang being over the weight limit. NIce attitude.
@@johnsmith7676 LOL If you saw the gaggle of girls who ran into that elevator at the last second... You're right though. I should have gotten out and let them have it. There were stairs close by. I do generally have a pleasant attitude Mr. John.
Great video man. Big ol hive. Love to see it. Keep up the good work.
I bet tha was some good honey and honey comb
It was really good.
@628DirtRooster I've been wanting some good honey and honey comb it's hard to find someone who has any especially honey comb
That's amazing
Ah yes, the 'dickhead factor' that you have to accommodate for when selling or doing stuff that involves customers. I know it well 😂😂
Sometimes you have to stand your ground.
That’s a nice place, you should just hangout and fish al little while
I used to carry a small pole in the truck years ago. I haven't fished since my house was robbed and all my gear was stolen.
@@628DirtRooster I hear that, can’t stand a thief I’ve been broken into on three separate occasions. Come in on it once, gives you an uneasy feeling. I like to fish don’t get to go as much anymore. Take care
I am glad, for you, that you can enjoy privet. It takes my breath away...literally! Privet is really bad for asthmatics, and can kill. It's a pity, because it is a pretty plant.
Wow! I didn’t know that. That’s a shame because it smells great in full bloom.
You prefer that saw to a 3 or 4 inch mini skill saw? Or is that just what you have?
This one is slower but can get in the corners
Great video! Nice cutout.
Good for you. Work smarter, not harder!!!❤
Work hard too though :)
How often do you encounter killer bees?
❤❤❤❤love todayz music ❤
Boy you sure are telling a story. If you had thr money for that house them bees would get an eviction notice.😊😊😊😊😊.
Haha! I might move them closer to the water.
I enjoy your videos so much
Randy, if you thought that swarm was a chill colony, and you were going to keep them, why did you put them into a nuc instead of a 10 frame hive body? Good content BTW.
Rooster, do you think that 50/50 mixture would help to keep my wife on me for a longer period of time?
Maybe add some lemongrass oil cover up that smoker smell.😮😮😮
😂😂😂
That hive is beautifully big all the white comb
A great video Randy.
I haven’t been around for a while. I hope your dad is doing better Randy.
He's improving
I must say i like your level
Where were those hot air balloon at . I have never saw any like that in person. I know they have a big fly out west that I would love to see some time . Thanks
Awesome cutout Randy!! Nicely done sir. 😎
Thank you kindly
Enjoyed the video very much DirtRooster
Great video. Another one that I didn't get notification of. I reset to all just to make sure.
Not sure why UA-cam is throttling my channel.
I just did my first cut out under a trailer. WOW what a lot of work. I have to return tomorrow and seal up the trim where they are getting in. He has another swarm that moved in last week on the other side he wants me to collect. I need to start charging,. I spent 4.5 hours today an it will be a couple hours tomorrow. What is a fair amout to charge? TIA
Great work and even half the time compared to good time charles and Mr Ed.... lol
LOL Those two are too busy discussing what Chinese buffet they're going to later and how many combs to try and save.
So that removal 😂only took you like 5 minutes yer fast
Randy, have you heard from JP? He hasn't posted in almost a year.
I spoke with him today. He was editing a video and had a question about music. You'll probably see him soon.
Post your nightmare customer stories, good therapy for you and entertaining for us!
I’ll post them in the member videos. Some of them are regular viewers and would definitely recognize themselves just from the stories.
@@628DirtRooster Good thinking, I didn't think about folks that could recognize themselves.
Great to seeing you at your best doing your thing, great video missed that
what are you getting for queens?
$35 in spring and $45 later in the year if I have them.
Anither awesome video brother!
I know ;)
The sand dune pics need frames I think
I wish I agreed. I'm nitpicking but it needs a more interesting sky and I probably should have walked in anther ten feet. LOL
I see coastal scenes in businesses down here a lot so I'm comparing to them.
@@628DirtRooster we only see flaws in our own work! And usually it's only us that can tell. I live on the Isle of Portland with gorgeous views over Chesil Beach, but that is shingles not grassy dunes. Both pretty in their own way
@@soniab78 Agreed
Nucs? Like neucleus? I don’t know why people use abbreviations.
@Gayle.McConnaughey For the same reason people use Contractions like, “don’t instead of do not”. Not trying to be a smart alack, just trying to make you understand, it’s only human nature to take shortcuts.
@@donbearden1953 Ok. I don’t speak “bee” so I wasn’t sure if there was a certain lingo like maybe it was something only bee keepers would know. Thank you. I’m only saying about the abbreviations because I’m a nurse and there are always abbreviations about everything and it can get annoying. 😏
Hey brother I have a question are you gonna sell any comb honey on the website I’d really like to get 2-3 pounds
Can I ask you where you came up with your Utube channel name?
My dirt bike was named Rooster and had a 628cc engine.
Good to see you Randy, 🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾🫡
