  • Review of the 2020 Razer Blade Stealth 13. An expensive but powerful Ultrabook packed with a GTX 1650TI Max-q. Is it worth the price they're asking? Is this the best laptop? I also compare it to the Surface Book 3 and MacBook Pro 13.

    THe only reason i bought a razer laptop is because it was on a very lower price, something like 1900$ instead of the '2300$ + taxes and shipping". otherwise, the design would probably make a compelling choice for me but it doesn't beat the high price.

    am using the late 2019 model. looking at the new one bc of the fixes: shift key, and screen refresh (120hz).
    but i guess i am also niche, bc i want this for its power, yet still allows me to use USB-c charging only.
    so i only carry around a (quite strong yet versatile) single power brick to charge everything. including my mirrorless camera, and every accessory for both.
    allows me to do all photography work on the go, as well as gaming, and plug it in at home to my external screen (also via USB-C) with a single cable.
    if this had a Ryzen... well, lets look to maybe upgrade with next years model then :D

    • @teebs90
      @teebs90 4 роки тому +1

      On top of the new fixes you mentioned, the processor runs at 25w now whereas they limited it to 15w on the 2019 model, which gives it a significant performance boost.
      I agree though, Ryzen would make this the perfect ultrabook!

    I'm a right shifter, but I'd take that short shift key over half size up/down arrow keys. It doesn't take long to adapt as my Logitech K400R also has that layout. But when you have half size up/down key, it's harder to train my muscle memory and I keep pressing shift whenever I want to press up. For someone who types and checks for text a lot, moving from one line to another one by one, it's crucial. So, Razer is out of my list starting now, while Lenovo gaming lineup surprisingly returns as they realize that importance.

    I had the 2019 1650 and liked it. I had 2 problems with it - that crazy damn shift key, and I wanted a faster screen. They fixed both, so I have upgraded and don't regret it. Now I have a 2019 to put up for sale....... Should I have waited for late 2020 or early 2021 when they (hopefully) put AMD in this thing? Probably. Will I want that one when it comes out? Definitely. Will I watch your videos and lust over everything you review? Of course!

    Matt, there's a big lack of knowledge out there about shifting. Some of us are not left- or right-shifters exclusively. We use both - when clicking a letter with our left hand fingers, we right shift. And vice versa. Dual shifters if you will. Please get the word out.

    Thanks Matt for sharing. I am a novice data scientist I work on PyCharm, Rstudio, PostqrsSqL , and data mining tools like Weka or JMP, etc.
    Do you think this will be a good choice for Ahmed like Tom and Ann :-)
