and no 120 hz display.. if the book had that I'd probably get it instead. As it is it's really hard to choose blade stealth over G14 given how much better perf the G14 is. The RBS screen is a bit brighter but that's about it, g14 quad core cpu crushes intel and the 1660ti is better than 1650ti. Only other advantage for stealth is getting full performance out of usb-c charging, whereas g14 requires its brick.
The Razerbook 13 (as well as the new XPS lineup) have smaller bezels because they opt for a 16:10 screen. If they reduced the bezel on the blade, the touch pad and battery would both suffer, as the overall dimensions would be reduced significantly for it to close flush.
@@MySonicDragon I would agree, but the RBS is considerably lighter and thinner. I've also heard that the G14 has many problem.. also it doesn't have a webcam
@@ahlixemus8903 yeah RBS is lighter and thinner but not as big a difference as other ultrabooks, maybe a half lb instead of full 1-1.5lb difference. RBS is still pretty chunky for a 13". G14 runs hot gaming if you don't disable turbo but it's a pretty quick setting to tweak that, runs very cool after that. Better battery life than RBS too. Webcam is a difference but honestly everything that isn't a surface product has garbage webcams, I have a g15 which also doesn't have webcam and I just use my phone w/ DroidCam and enjoy a much higher quality camera. I dunno I'm still tempted by RBS because I do like that it's a bit smaller. The value proposition of the g14 is just so strong.
The OLED model is 1080p touch, not 4k touch. Also, the faster refresh rate of the LED model is basically useless in gaming given the pixel response time of the Sharp panel Razer uses is in the 40 - 50 millisecond range making everything a smugly mess in high FPS gaming. I'd rather go with the OLED for gaming. It's only 60 FPS but it's brighter, has perfect blacks, and only a 1 - 2 millisecond pixel response time so there is zero ghosting. The fact that it is also a touch display is a added bonus.

Hey Lisa @MobileTechReview, thanks again for a fantastic review video. You've mentioned a 4K version. Is it actually coming? The Razer website got a 4K version only of the previous model and the book, but not of the Stealth late 2020. Do you have any info on this?
I wish this had more powerful graphics options. Asus managed to fit a 4900HS and RTX 2060 Max-Q in the 3.5 lb. G14, but I like the stealthy look of this one more.
There is no other gaming 13 inch laptop, so it doesn't really have competition. Amazing laptop, but quite a lot of money. Must make a review difficult, since there's no good comparison out there.
Unless the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro comes out this year, think I'm gonna buy this one (can't keep waiting for a premium AMD ultrabook, my old T460s needs replaced...) Great review as usual btw :)
5 years will be the life of this company called Razer Blade... There is very high competition, most of the big names already taking design seriously and continuously optimizing their design alongwith offering their products at attractive price.

Great review, as always. That Stealth, not so much. Needs 16:10, slimmer bezels, and buying a GPU this outdated at that price point doesn't make sense.
If your primary objective is to get a device for gaming, I agree, but this is an ultrabook first and a gaming device second. There's no really good comparison to argue it's a bad deal.
For a 13 inch laptop though 1080p is perfectly acceptable, especially when 15 inch gaming laptops usually have 1080p displays. It's already expensive enough. Maybe as an optional upgrade.
As long as it supports the USB Power Delivery standard. I have the first version of this laptop and I plan on getting a compact GaN 100 W charger to replace the brick transformer it came with. I also use it with a Dell monitor with USB charging, display port and usb hub over a single cable.
you have to have a cord that can handle it, and of course the brick. most cords will only do up to 15w, some better ones up to 30w, so sadly youd have to make sure the cord can do 100w
In my experience no, I have this model now and I haven't been able to get it to work properly with any other USB-C chargers so far. With a 90w charger (with built-in cable) it only draws a maximum of 62w and drains the battery for anything above that (actually it drains the battery even when it's drawing less than that too, and even with the original Razer 100w charger, but that's another story) With a 60w charger (and separate USB-C cable supporting up to 100w) it draws way less than that, a maximum of about 35w while also draining the battery all the time (even when idle). I also tried this charger with a friend's Dell laptop and that was able to draw the full 60w from it with no problem, so that's not the issue. I previously had the late 2019 model which I ended up getting replaced with this one and it also had all the same issues, which I was really hoping they'd have fixed by now but apparently not :( (I'm in the UK and there still seem to be no third-party 100w chargers available here yet, let alone GaN ones unfortunately... so I don't know whether a 100w one would work better, but there's no good reason for it to not work properly with the lower power ones I've got when it doesn't need anywhere near 100w most of the time anyway, it's just incredibly frustrating)
