I can recall that time when this song came out. The memories, places, Girls❤, that I had the pleasure to share those memories with. Great times, Great memories for sure!!!! 🎉
One of the greatest rock ballads ever written. Truly a masterpiece. Also, Scorpions have been rocking for basically 6 decades. Klaus Meine has such a great and easily recognizable voice. Bucket list band to see live.
I could have seen them on Love at First Sting. I grew up “scalping” tickets. Sold 16 for the show. I hadn’t given them a real listen yet so I skipped it. Serious regret.
Seen them 3 times now and each time they have been absolutely amazing and are my favourite band of all time, Klaus's voice is unique, powered and tempered. an awesome band
back in the 80s a lot of people thought us metal heads were crazy and that it was noise. But we really recognized the advanced musicianship of these bands and how incredible the vocals were for many of them. Metal guitarists really expanded as well from the standard pentatonic scale used in most rock up until them, using various scale modes to giving us classical music sounds and complexity. Loud metal also required vocalists that could really soar above the music.
I remember those days. Sometimes I miss how misunderstood heavier music was by the masses back in the day, how I got to enjoy it just with the few others who could see beyond contemporary prejudices, but sometimes I enjoy how everyone these days can see the beauty in it. I have mixed feelings, you could say. To this day, though, I still listen to plenty of music that is beyond most people's tolerances, and it still brings a juvenile big smile to my old face when I see people's reactions to some of the skramz and grindcore I love. But even when it's too much for people, they still understand that it is music with its own merits, unlike the Satanic Madness people used to associate it with. It's good that people have improved, but it was also fun to freak out the squares back in the dark ages.
I just watched them live last week and played this song. Klaus still can sing. He is 74 years old now. His hands was trembling and shaking when he stood and walked
I am glad he is not going into that part of his life without fear of the reality of it.We all must face that….if we are fortunate.Keep on trucking ,Klaus and God bless the journey of life.
I will see them in a couple of days... It's good to hear he still has it. It would break my heart if he could not sing anymore. Been in love with his voice for 40 years.
Klaus' voice is a one of the reasons I have been a HUGE fan since the mid '80s. Klaus' voice cannot be imitated! Simply AMAZING!! Enjoyed your review. Thx.
The fantastic, emotional voice of Klaus, combined with the powerful, emotional guitar mix of Mattias Jabs and Rudolph Schenker, is what makes this one of the few songs that have ever made me cry...and it still does.
his ability to go from soft and breathy to instantly jumping up an octave is *chef's kiss* I'd love a reaction to Winds of Change too, probably my favorite of theirs
The plea of desperation and the pain of rejection in his voice, is matched perfectly by the whining cry and stinging bite of the guitars. This IS on the greatest rock ballads of all time. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word! Cheers\=/\=/
I seen The Scorpions in Las Vegas a couple of months ago. Klaus Meine is 76 years old and can still sing this song. Still Loving You and Rock You like a Hurricane were the encore.
Thanks for choosing this song!❤ Klaus Meine s voice is incredible, it's sharp, soft, warm, cold, wow! One of my all time favourite songs since I was 22......
Hi,you have the most "beautifullisteningtomusicface" i'v ever seen.Your competence is top nodge. You are just great to watch. Thank you and cheers from a finn in Sweden.❤
I love the scorpions, but I only watch these videos for her reactions, and to appreciate such a beautiful human being that she is. It’s quite inspiring
English has many variations in the respected lands that chose to except it for communication however Klaus enunciates with the clarity of a second language in that ,he learned a school book language very well.He would have trouble understanding the slang of the English Cockney or NYC folks in Brooklyn ,Australian Bush and South African English.English is taught all over the world but seldom sounds as perfect as a second language.
Klaus sings with small hint of a German accent which pops out occasionally. Even the women in ABBA do that. There are some who can pull of perfect English with no accent who are not native speakers like Morten Harket from a-Ha.
You are my favorite vocal coach reactors. You allow yourself to be in the moment and listen before you start your analysis. A lot of coaches stop very very often. Often at the most critical spots that had they let it keep playing, I feel the song and voice has more of an impact. You are a joy to watch
Scorpions are the kings of ballads. Send Me an Angel, Always Somewhere, When the Smoke is Going Down, We'll Burn the Sky, Lonely Nights, Born to Touch Your Feelings, Believe in Love.
Absolutely, without a doubt, LOVE your reactions to his voice! He is phenomenal and has kept that voice through the years. Amazing to know that this is his 2nd language. Have rocked this tune for years!
It's like Acoustic Heroine. Chords that will pierce right through you, fill you with a warm sensation while your anxiety melts away, leaving you in a blissful daze, and you'll always want more. The Scorpion's Sting...
All of Scorpions' slows/ballads are written by rhythm guitar player and founding member Rudolf Schenker (the light-blond guy to the left ((on screen)) of singer Klaus Meine). Rudolf is the older brother of legendary guitar player Michael Schenker who played in Scorpions at age 15 and went to play with UFO at age 17. This video was recorded for German TV and has the studio audio.
I love a lot of rock and metal artists, but every now and then a person has to listen to the Scorpions to remind yourself that Klaus Meine is one of the very best (in every facet) vocalysts on this planet.
For more special delivery from this frigging freak of angelic singing in rock I take permission to refer you to "Holiday" and "Send me an angel". Well, any song he sings has this easily delivered quality (and it's been nearly 60 years of now), but these two showcase it especially well.
@@artursandwich1974 I'm a Tokyo Tapes girl. That blew me out of the water as a 16 year old. I'm been in love with Klaus Meine's voice ever since. They are one of the rare bands that sound just as good, if not better, live.
To me, hands down this is by far and long the best ballad ever recorded. Whatever second place may be it's not even close to this in my opinion. His voice is absolute perfection.
I love your reactions to bands that were so important back in the high school and young adult phase of my life! Thank You from all us old Metal Heads🤘🎸🤘
you are such a lovely lady and watching you just absorb and revel in the sounds created by these amazing vocals really moves me. watching you and hearing this sad love song about a man who wants so much to have a second chance with the love of his life brings out powerful emotions in myself. you are a real treasure in this world.
He's absolutely unique! The first rock band I heard... Scorpions has a special place in my heart, not just these ballads but all other really awesome songs. I love them.
❤Thanks Bethany❤ Love your exquisite smile❤❤ Klaus and Rudolph's collaboration on this EPIC ballad is one of the best in Rock history. The voice and the guitar blend so beautifully while the power and range of Klaus vocals are called back to him from an equally dynamic guitarist. Falling in and out of love never sounded better.
For me Klaus Meine is in the top 5 best Heavy Metal singers of all time. And being a drummer, gotta shout out Herman Rarebell on drums. Great reaction and review 👊🏻
Huge ballad fan (to listen and to sing) for the reasons you mentioned. These high male tenor voices became my jam in my teens and were what I wanted to do when I first started learning voice. Still can't get enough!
I've been to some Scorpions shows and I was impressed by how the vocalist, Klaus Meine, sings live, and the last time I watched them was in 2019 and Klaus Meine I was already over 70 years old and singing a lot
Lady you are so articulate in your evaluation, this is one of my favorite song from my head banging years. (I’m 62 years old now) I love your how much your analysis and critiques reinforces my opinion thet this IS GOOD MUSIC!!
There's another great ballad The Scorpions have off their Album Love drive called Always Somewhere. It really showcases Klaus Meine's voice. Though the Chord progressions of the Guitars always get an erriely comparison to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man.
I saw them as a freshman in HS in 1981 and again around 2009 and both times they were FLAWLESS and Klaus sounds the same live or better. That is impressive.
Thank you for such a FANTASTIC reaction video for a band that I truly love. BIG PRAISE to you Bethany !! It's so clear that you TRULY ADORE music and vocal talent, by the way you react and genuinely appreciate the singer (your face lights up ! 😃)
When my college girlfriend left me for another in our last semester of the last year of school I played this song a million times. Hearing it still makes me cry even after forty three years.
Oh wow! I haven't heard this song in years! This has to be my favorite Scorpions song and I'm still convinced his voice could cut through marble. So raw, but so polished.
One of the best bands with one of the most amazing vocalists eva. Add to that the amazing songs they did and you have a group that was simply outstanding.
Thanx so much for reacting/analyzing this great track from The Scorpions featuring the amazing Klaus Meine's vocals. I have been listening to his beautiful singing for almost 50 years now. I have seen them live a couple of times and they are just as good live as they are on record. You are totally correct in saying that ballads leave you vulnerable and exposed. Klaus' talent really shines on these ballads. I recommend that you go back to the Taken By Force album, which was the album that I was introduced to The Scorpions. Born To Touch Your Feelings, Burn The Sky, etc. Wow!
1982 - my first concert - The Scorpions. Some things you'll never forget. Klaus Meine is simply exceptional. And let me add, your reaction @3:26 just made my day. 💕💕🎶🎶
This is my favorite song of theirs. I got so excited when I heard this was your first time hearing it. Honestly, just seeing your reactions made me tear up.
Your reaction videos are by far (in my opinion) the best on the planet! I have seen many other people attempt to do them and they simply fail in comparison. I feel your understanding of music as well as vocalization in music is not acquired but a natural gift.
Bethany you really need to make these available as a podcast. I love your videos of great songs but don't have time to watch all the ones I'd like to, but if you'd be able to do it as a podcast, I'd absolutely listen to every one. Regardless, keep up the great work.
It's my opinion that rock bands do the best ballads because the dynamics between soft and heavy in a single song are more extreme than other genres. Thus affecting the emotions of the listener more deeply.
This Channel has been a real eye opener for Me. Im trying to do home recording of my own material. I play guitar & was going to try vocals but ever since checking out & subscribing to channels like this it's been very insightful for sure. When i was younger I was like " Yeah Vocals No Problem ! " But now I realize they're just as important & crucial as any other instruments. I wasn't born with a natural Talent like Klaus Mein, Ronnie James Dio or Rob Halford but just work on what I was born with. Keep up the great work on this channel.
Power ballads is a wonderful thing 🥰 Here's some I think you will love 😊 Twisted Sister - The price Twisted Sister - King of the fools Scorpions - Always somewhere Scorpions - In trance Scorpions - Holiday Scorpions - When the smoke is going down Scorpions - Wind of change Scorpions - Send me an angel Guns n roses - Don't cry Axel rudi pell - The clown is dead Axel rudi pell - oceans of time Rainbow - Rainbow eyes Europe - Open your heart Europe - Carrie Cinderella - Nobody's fool Deep purple - When a blind man cries
Klaus and the Scorpions have such a large selection of great songs, times are changing to one of my favorites, Blackout. Enjoy seeing someone else appreciate the music I grew up loving.
His live performance is almost identical to the studio recording. Amazing. Is this the studio recording? Now that I think about it, I think it was the studio recording. Not sure..
I was in high school, and my older brother (my only sibling), on his first leave from the Army, Desert Storm era, and his first trip home after leaving, took me to my first concert, Great White & Mr. Big w/ Scorpions headlining. We were in the stands for the first two (guitar dual between Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert was insane), but my brother said, screw this, this isn't how you should experience your first concert, and told me to follow his lead just as the Scorpions were coming out. With two "guards" at floor level checking wrist bands, he pretended to hold out his arm to one of them then the same to the other, and went through to the floor with confidence. My introverted, law-following self, scared to death I'd get busted and probably thrown in jail, did the same and somehow made it through to the floor. I couldn't believe that worked! We ended up around 10 feet from the band and I (surprisingly) got to experience my first mosh pit. The band was flawless. Thankful AF.
Saw The Scorpions in concert 4 times in the mid to late 80's. So awesome to see someone reacting to this amazing rock ballad. Kauls Meine has one of the most beautiful voices in rock.
I've listened to this song a thousand times. One of my favorites which takes me back to times with my first wife before she put magic in the world to a slow and painful death.
Klaus Meine has ALWAYS been such an amazing vocalist. His ability to jump octaves and control it is just amazing!
Yes im 52. Had all their albums. Ronnie James Dio is the best ever. If this vocalist heard Dio's live heaven and hell she would melt.
One of my favorite Scorpion songs. So many great teenage memories associated with this song.
Same here.. this was always on in my truck back in the 80's early 90's
Indeed. So many mammaries...
I was in high school back in the eighties.
The country of France experienced a baby boom because of THIS SONG!…No joke…look it up!👍🦂
I can recall that time when this song came out. The memories, places, Girls❤, that I had the pleasure to share those memories with. Great times, Great memories for sure!!!! 🎉

Been a fan since the early 80s and have been fortunate to see them 4 times between the late 80s and 2017.
Go see them. They still run around the stage and put on an energetic show. VERY few bands that started in the 1960's can say that.
They are Truly Blessed just like Their great ancestors B Bach and a few more

a wise man once said: rock and roll aint noise pollution ;-)

Amen brother...We were just 40 years ahead of the times!
Beautifully put, and it kills me that the desire for that is gone in music today, lost in time.
Now artists don't even write their own songs most of the time.
And dont forget, this guy is belting out these amazing vocals, in a second language to him. Awesome!
Klaus Meine has one of the best voices in rock history and this song is absolutely mesmerizing. Good analysis.
It's probably the best metal ballad of all time. Klaus is a genious.
He is still amazing!
Just learned that he’s recovering from recent back surgery which might account for his shakes and lack of agility.
I will see them in a couple of days... It's good to hear he still has it. It would break my heart if he could not sing anymore. Been in love with his voice for 40 years.
Where did you see them?
I saw them in Las Vegas April 18, 2024. Awesome!
His voice is so dynamic, he knows exactly how much voice and color he should use, control like a beast.
Klaus' voice is a one of the reasons I have been a HUGE fan since the mid '80s. Klaus' voice cannot be imitated! Simply AMAZING!! Enjoyed your review. Thx.
His vocals give me goosebumps and chills every time.
x2
Same feeling in here... This song always bring my memories back in to my teenage years which is a very very great time in my life.
Same here. I have played this song over at a couple ex-girlfriends house.
He's the best hands down
Please don't apologize for replaying. That's what most of us are here for is to learn from you. You are the best on UA-cam. Thank you !
Spot on.
The fantastic, emotional voice of Klaus, combined with the powerful, emotional guitar mix of Mattias Jabs and Rudolph Schenker, is what makes this one of the few songs that have ever made me cry...and it still does.
Everything about this song is perfect. Absolutely flawless. These guys are such pros.

Saw them in Vegas as well. So professional and so good.
This is one of the best power ballads ever written. Rudolph Schenker is an incredible song writer.
Thanks for choosing this song!❤
Klaus Meine s voice is incredible, it's sharp, soft, warm, cold, wow! One of my all time favourite songs since I was 22......
1984 was one of the finest years ever for music.
exacto-..... Ese año 1984 vio nacer RIDE THE LIGHTNING !!! Obra maestra, 1984 fue un año lleno de obras maestras en el METAL::..

I love the scorpions, but I only watch these videos for her reactions, and to appreciate such a beautiful human being that she is. It’s quite inspiring
When a native German speaker sings better in English than 90% of any native English speakers ever have in history... Es ist sehr gut!
🤣
English has many variations in the respected lands that chose to except it for communication however Klaus enunciates with the clarity of a second language in that ,he learned a school book language very well.He would have trouble understanding the slang of the English Cockney or NYC folks in Brooklyn ,Australian Bush and South African English.English is taught all over the world but seldom sounds as perfect as a second language.

You better get out of they wee
Who cares about this nationalist stuff? Does it matter?

agreed, her timing is really smart and allows us to enjoy the song, appreciate the analysis, and then go back to enjoying the song

Holiday and Lady Starlight are also in this style, but a much younger Klaus 🎶🤘😎
Hear more of his voice: "wind of change" and "send me an angel". I love the lyrics and the Schenker brothers guitars too. Great ballads ever.
Yes. Two of my favorites
All of Scorpions' slows/ballads are written by rhythm guitar player and founding member Rudolf Schenker (the light-blond guy to the left ((on screen)) of singer Klaus Meine). Rudolf is the older brother of legendary guitar player Michael Schenker who played in Scorpions at age 15 and went to play with UFO at age 17. wow interesting i didnt know this. I love the scorpions and ufo very much. I see the resemblance to ufos phenomenon and scorpions taken by force.
Michael Schenker was in an insane asylum at like 12 years old fore being an alchoholic.
I hadn't realized the audio is from their studio version; I was surprised she didn't use their live version with the Berlin Philharmonic
Yeah, the Scorpions are good.
I vividly remember the first time that I heard this song. I was a child and this song has opened the doors world of rock. Thank you Scorpions!!!
this song always makes me want to cry. klaus’ emotions come thru so strong… by far my favourite
Klaus has an amazing voice! He's still doing it too. I enjoyed your reaction.
My favorite scorpion song.lifes like a river
I could really go down the rabbit hole watching your reactions...just love seeing you really enjoy the music... thank you !

The beautiful Vocalyst falling in love with Klaus and the boys using their super power. The rock ballad. Priceless.

Yes, and I saw him, Scorpion, in concert in Las Vegas in April of this year, 2024. Awesome!
His live performance is almost identical to the studio recording. Amazing. Is this the studio recording? Now that I think about it, I think it was the studio recording. Not sure..
Scorpions have wonderful ballads
This band is amazing!! Loved them forever
We saw them last year and he still has his voice
Saw The Scorpions in concert 4 times in the mid to late 80's. So awesome to see someone reacting to this amazing rock ballad. Kauls Meine has one of the most beautiful voices in rock.
Klause Meine has one of the best voices and skillsets that we've ever heard. These are not easy songs to sing like this.
They sound exactly like that live.. love my Scorps
Saw them in Costa Mesa CA in 84 I think it was. He sounds this amazing... I was awestruck.
I've listened to this song a thousand times. One of my favorites which takes me back to times with my first wife before she put magic in the world to a slow and painful death.
Klaus has such a unique timbre, I have always loved Scorpions.
