ok so can we walk about some of the multi player versions of these games though? Like the 'love me' mini solo is meh but multiplayer just takes that and says "hey you wanna have some REAL fun with this mini game. HERE YOU GO! Have fun with this mini game where you can intentionally and strategically screw your friends over. :3" (and yes i incorporated that :3 face into the statement)
My headcanon is that the reason Wario went from having a lot of treasure in Wario Land 4 and a golden castle in Wario World to having to sleep in his car in Shake It! is because he gambled it all away at Luigi's casino
I was OBSESSED with these minigames. Wanted, the boos, the matching Luigi ones, the snowball, and the trampoline took up most of my time, and now I want to grab my New Super Mario Bros. copy and replay them. Weirdly, I never knew there were doors you were supposed to get the marios to on the trampoline game, I thought you were just supposed to keep them bouncing. I was not a smart kid. Anyways, this was a fun trip down memory lane. Thanks for the nostslgia Duo!
You really should pick them up and try them again. They're a lot of fun still. Glad you enjoyed this video. Wasn't really sure if this kind of subject would be up your alley. =D
This video woke up a memory when I was with my family in Thailand. I have never liked being on vacation so I used to bring games with me when I got bored. I was waiting on my parents because they were checking something in a market near by, while I was playing on my DS. I remember that I was focusing so hard on the WANTED GAME that was in New! Super Mario Bros. I came pretty far but i then came Wario up on the WANTED and I was stessing so much to find him. (I didnt find him). Exactly after I gave up and the timer was about to run out poked somebody on the screen, right on Wario. I was so shocked that I looked up and there was a gang of kids in my age (I was about 10) around me and everybody was looking at my DS. I didnt know what I was going to do. They couldnt understand me and i couldnt understand them, so I just continued playing the Minigame. not even a minut later shouted my parents name and I stood up and the kids let me away. I remember how they all looked at me while I was walking away. I hope they all got something that entertains them now, hopefully some kind of videogame. :)
I think you forgot about the PvP minigames. Me and my friend played those all the time, we had the same game, but dirfent versions. Good job nether less
DuoStuff also keep in mind that the very first one you covered was basically chess of forcing the other person to end up having to pluck the last petal. It was very much so one of the fun PvP ones

I remember these games SO well. It was awesome just playing SM64 again on a different console, but the mini games made it even better. I think I'll get back into my DS to play them again!

*You just gave me a flashback to when me and my 3 other friends were just playing NSMB and Mario Kart DS on a field trip back in like 3rd grade and that was probably the only reason we went on said field trip.*
I specifically remember playing these while the power was out one day, They helped while away the time while I waited for the power to come back on. Anyways, glad you enjoyed the video man. =D
Yeah, and it's kinda crazy how the first NSMB game is still the most unique, and in my opinion, the best among all of them. The later games all took the bosses and the soundtrack from NSMB Wii.
I feel the Mario 64 DS is hugely underappreciated. Not only did it expand on the original Mario 64 with new worlds, bosses, extra stars and alternative playable characters, but added a Mario Party game's worth of minigames on the side. Yet the game is barely mentioned, and had good but not amazing review scores. Never understood why.
I remember disconnecting from my friends while playing and it making this really scary siren noise. I wish I could find that exact sound effect for when you disconnect, but no one has it!
I have to thank you, you brought me back. I remember when my brother, my cousin and I would play these minigames. This was the start of our gaming careers, my cousin was always player 1, my brother player 2, and i was player 3. We would play mario 64 at every family gathering along with mario kart on the DS, Wii Resort, and battleblock theater on the Xbox 360. We've grown so much, i saved up and got my Switch, My cousin saved up for a gaming pc, and my brother plays brawlhalla with me on the Switch.

Me and my brother still ocasionally play NSMB DS and play minigames against eachother, but my favorite gamemode gotta be mario vs luigi. the crisp pixel-perfect movement of the base game works so well in a 1v1 gamemode, and the seemingly non-existent input lag makes it even better. there's so many pvp tricks you can learn too, like shooting a fireball allows you to jump on the opponent right after even though they have invincibility frames and are protected from more fireballs, and the different interactions of what happens when you both have a blue shell and collide. i honestly think the mario vs luigi gamemode could be an esport and have tournaments like melee.
I vividly remember once sitting down and getting a high score of over 200 on Wanted. My previous high score was probably around 120 and I never reached triple digits since.
Wow, you resurrected memories I completely forgot that I had. I saw the floating heads on the black screen in the thumbnail and it ALL came rushing back to me. I was obsessed with these games. Gonna go grab my DS and Super Mario 64 and go on a crazy nostalgia trip now. Great vid :)

i wasn't expecting to find this video, and was even less expecting this nostalgia trip about games I had entirely forgotten so congrats you made me cry. Luigi's gambling game made me feel like such an adult. I remember sipping juice in my kitchen after a hard day of 3rd grade, spending some time in Luigi's casino without understanding any of the rules. And I'm surprised you didn't mention probably the coolest part of the sorting game, which was the way all the bombs got lined up once you lost. i would spend HOURS on that game with no other purpose beyond making the largest, most satisfying group of ba-bombs imagineable, plus I loved the sound they made when they were being counted. so many specific repressed memories came back thanks to this. while its a chill explanatory video, it had a genuine emotional impact on me, so thank you for reminding me of these.

I used to play all those games as a kid for way too much and really enjoyed them. Never really expected anyone to make video about them though. Brings back good memories in sad times right now, thanks.
I could not stop smiling the whole time I was watching this! I really enjoyed these games as a kid, thank you so much, this is such a great video and it made me so happy to see someone appreciate the same games I do. I will forever hold those two games and their minigames in my heart forever.
I remember how much I played these games and how I mastered the wanted game. Thanks you for the nostalgia and the great video. Sadly I lost my Mario 64 copy for the DS, so I only have the Mario bro’s games :(
Super Mario 64 DS was the first game I ever played. Thanks for bringing attention to the game and It’s godlike minigame collection. This is the game that taught me roulette and poker😅 This is brings me some joy during quarantine.
I didnt remember these minigames untill i saw this video. When i saw the minigames, all the memories came back. I loved the trampoline one and never understood luigi's poker stuff. you got a new sub today! Keep up your good work
Going for the WR in puzzle panel, currently at 537, hope it goes well Oh my god I remember having an insane amount of coins in poker, lemme see if I still have my old save.
The dire dire docks one was my favorite because I swear if you looked long enough you could tell which one it was. Thank-you for the nostalga trip video
I have played more hours of slot shot than I have played Skyrim, and I have played a lot of Skyrim. Mario 64 DS was one of the first games I played when I was old enough to know what I was doing and I played an unbelievable amount of these minigames. Good video
Looking at this comment section I realize that through these games we can all be united in some way. It's amazing to see people from all around the world sharing memories with a perfectly made game. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
I played the Mario and the Luigi minigames mad often in new smb. Especially the trampoline one with the doors, paragon and memory... also snowball and the bobomb paracute one. So good! I'm so sad I lost this game, it was my first game ever!
Thank you for bringing these up because I absolutely loved these mini games! But one stood out over the rest, and that was Sort or ‘Splode. To the point that it was the ONLY mini game I really liked playing. Sometimes I’d play it more than any other game. I also let my mom and sister have a crack at it (including other mini games). BUT it also had the bonus effect of interesting my crush at the time and I let her use my DS for hours and we’d challenge each other for high scores. Now, anyone knowing me at the time would know I would’t let anyone so much as point at my DS, let alone use it but Sort or ‘Splode was an exception!
Man... I only played a few of them but every game kept me addicted for a bunch of hours. I'm kinda glad to realize that I'm not the only one who put time into games that deserved to be played.
Lakitu Launch was probably my favorite game in this collection! There was just something super satisfying about piling all of the spiny eggs into one tub, weighing the Lakitus down until they were below the slingshot and then just raining spiny eggs into them!
The “loves me loves me not” game is chill and fun w two ppl, I would always play w my little sister. It’s has some strategy to it and whoever ends up w “loves me” wins!
I think everyone can agree that these is some legit sorcery involved with these minigames. Pretty much everyone I know who played 64 DS loves them. My favourites are Trampoline, Bob-omb sorting, Bob-omb shooting, Bob-omb Danger, Head sorting, Wanted, Wario coins and of course everyones favourite Poker
What really solidifies these in my memory is when me and my cousins (prob like 9-10yrs old) got DS’s and this game together at the same time and then spent nasty amounts of time playing these together. These and the original Mario Kart DS
This video unlocked some super deep repressed memories. Countless hours playing at the tables with Luigi. A lot of these games remind me of the all the iconic arcade esque apps in the early days of smartphones, the fruit ninjas and doodlejumps of the app store. You could port a lot of these to smartphones and they'd be great time wasters, even now.
Great topic for a video! I spent most time on the bob-omb sorting, mario trampoline, and yoshi flip puzzle. I think Luigi deserves his own casino game now.
Great video all around, although I will say I played those Wario slot minigames a bunch. There was something so satisfying about doing well there because I just had no control on where it went
I really love minigames, in the Mario games(like the Mario 64 DS or the old SNES game "Yoshi's Island"), the casino in the Dragon Quest, Blitzball in Final Fantasy X. Thank you for this entertaining video😊
Luigi’s card games, Wanted, the Mario trampoline games, and the bomb games were my favorite. I would always play with my siblings and we would spend hours playing.
I've never seen your content before this video, but this is a very fun video to watch. I'm honestly surprised how good this is for such a small channel
FINALLY someone draws attention to these minigames! I remember spending hours of road trips on Wanted alone.
Yeah it's really weird that no one really ever mentions them. They were a pretty major part of these games for me at least. XD
Same here, I once spent forever getting 1000 stars on the Wanted game, I had to close my DS to keep my score when I went to sleep
ok so can we walk about some of the multi player versions of these games though? Luigi's mini games were the best
I love those too, I played them for hours
I played this when I was 8 and when someone explained Poker to me I was like wut? It's like in Mario? I played Poker in Mario Bros?

Nintendo should totally remake all of these games and release them as a mobile game
Give this man a job as nintendo-employee
Honestly, some of these minigames could be an entire app on their own, ive spent hours playing them
Yeah, too bad the mobile gaming market went from simple mini games to Skinner boxes with barely any gameplay, but progress bars and microtransactions.

6:07 Ironically, Yoshi is the LEAST Wanted on the Wanted Minigame, this means he is innocent :/
Seems like it, but that would imply that Wario is less wanted than Luigi.
Tax fraud
He really is getting away with that Tax Fraud
I used to play all those games as a kid for way too much and really enjoyed them. Never really expected anyone to make video about them though. Brings back good memories in sad times right now, thanks.
So um... are you a fellow monika fan?
Let me put it like this: I'm currently on break from UA-cam to develop an entire DDLC mod focused on Monika.
So yeah I think so. XD
I could not stop smiling the whole time I was watching this! I really enjoyed these games as a kid, thank you so much, this is such a great video and it made me so happy to see someone appreciate the same games I do. I will forever hold those two games and their minigames in my heart forever.
I played the poker one constantly. Over and over.
Glad you enjoyed the video! =D
Thank you for bringing back so many found memories... I completely forgot about these mini games but I loved them!!
I didnt remember these minigames untill i saw this video. When i saw the minigames, all the memories came back. I loved the trampoline one and never understood luigi's poker stuff. you got a new sub today! Keep up your good work
With every new mini game, a new wave of nostalgia hits
Going for the WR in puzzle panel, currently at 537, hope it goes well
Oh my god I remember having an insane amount of coins in poker, lemme see if I still have my old save.
SM64DS was the first DS game that really drew me in and I remember spending hours on these minigames.
you just brought me so much nostalgia.. i cant believe i forgot i played these minigames all the time when i was younger
Good video
God I love these games, main and mini games. Thanks for the trip down memory lane fam
Oh my, thank you for bringing this up, my sister and I played these games for hours. I thought everyone forgot about.
Looking at this comment section I realize that through these games we can all be united in some way. It's amazing to see people from all around the world sharing memories with a perfectly made game.
Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
oh man i miss these games, the music, the tapping, the omg luigi won again i gotta play again. road trips will never be the same
I played the Mario and the Luigi minigames mad often in new smb.
Still play them every now and then glad you brought them the attention they deserve and wanted is the best undeniably
Couldn’t for the life of me remember where I had played these games. Thank you. The line drawing to get Mario head to the stars was my favorite.
The 1v1 Wanted match joke killed me.
Don't even get me started with how some of these minigame changes if you play with another player. Pure Gold!
Huge nostalgia from playing this with my friends during long road trips like scout camps and band trips. Honestly the best mini games I’ve ever seen
you almost made me cry i remembered every single one of the minigames and the wanted game was my fav
Oh god I forgot about these minigames. Thanks for reminding me about the joy I had with them.
The “loves me loves me not” game is chill and fun w two ppl, I would always play w my little sister. It’s has some strategy to it and whoever ends up w “loves me” wins!
Just found this channel, reminded me of my love for Mario mini games, subbed.
I loved these! You should also cover how awesome these are in multiplayer, I played these with my brother and neighbours more than anything else on DS
Thank you for this entertaining video😊
this was dug out from the deepest depths of my memory, thank you :)
Ahhhh Psyche Out was my favorite...hearing the music again brought back so many memories...
Luigi’s card games, Wanted, the Mario trampoline games, and the bomb games were my favorite. I would always play with my siblings and we would spend hours playing.
I've never seen your content before this video, but this is a very fun video to watch. I'm honestly surprised how good this is for such a small channel
I was just playing these yesterday. They never get old
i remember playing the minigames more than the actual game itself hdkfjdkf i'm so happy you made a video on them :)
these mini games were the best, i spent so much time playing them
