i have the same smoker and love it. probably 1000 hours on it so far.. one of the best thigs i did is to take the one screw out of the wire rack under the wood chip tray and remove the rack completly so the chip tray rests directly on the heating element..produces much better smoke at lower temps..great vid!
yep I hate spending money, especially now that im semi retired...lol But i definelty like quality and function but often that doesnt mean spending a fortune. There are some great and expensive smokers out there. my friends have them. they are excellent. but they cost a ton of money and you have to be right there baby sitting them for temp contol, fuel etc. this is affordable, functional and simple. set it and walk away. come back when its done.
Love this video, I've never thought about an electric smoker until today...I smoked a 7lb rib roast on a Masterbuilt and I have to be honest, keeping the temperature where it should have been a work out for sure. My goal was between 140 and 165 and it was tough to keep it there. It turned out phenomenal, don't get me wrong, but it pretty much ate up my whole day and I only get 2 days off a week....ugh....lol. This is definitely something to consider because I really do miss smoking food, and I enjoy it so much. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I have a separate smoker for salmon, because after you smoke salmon your other items you smoke take on a salmon flavor (just something to think about) Jason Thanks for your great videos
Interesting. Never noticed that and we smoke alot of salmon. I do make aure to clean the smoker out well each time though and I know you don't have to. Maybe that help or maybe I just haven't noticed.
As a previous Qstoves+ user, I was hesitant to switch to another brand. However, after trying the Asmoke grill, I couldn't be happier. The pellet system was a game-changer for me. It's so much easier to use and allows for precise temperature control. Plus, the variety of wood pellet flavors available really elevated my cooking. I particularly love the smoky flavor it imparts to my meats and vegetables. The compact and portable design of Asmoke also makes it perfect for my camping and tailgating trips. It's battery-powered and lasts up to 10 hours, so I don't have to worry about finding a power source. I also appreciate the environmentally friendly aspect of using recycled wood materials for the pellets. Overall, Asmoke has truly transformed my outdoor cooking experience. #Asmoke
I have a love hate relationship with these smokers. I likely bought my first one perhaps 17 or so years ago. Since then I've likely had six or more. I will say they do an excellent job of smoking meat. Yesterday I smoked 20 pounds of fresh venison sausage. It does great brisket or pork shoulders and my favorite smoked turkey. But they are not quality smokers. Mine is on a screened in porch with a roof overhead so it's never exposed to rain. But they only last about two years for me. I've had leads burn off the heating element. Bad controllers after a year. One developed an issue in a part that's sealed where it would turn off after an hour or two allowing your meat to get cold unless you happened to notice. I had one that came with a remote. Fantastic. I could sit in my den and see the time left, smoker temp, and meat temp without going out on the deck. Next one I bought you had to use your phone and it was more trouble than it was worth. One got to where it wouldn't come on if the outside temp was in the forties or below. They've downsized the wood chip feeder size so it's far harder to put wood chips in without wasting them all over the floor. The water pans rust out in just over a year and the wood pan in under two years. Fortunately you can order those online. My current one lacks the meat thermometer. I do miss that feature but less to go wrong I suppose. If you leave them closed they will mildew so I use one of those washer door devices that holds the door open enough to allow air into the unit.
I use wood pellets in mine for longer smokes, I bought an amazin smoker and light it, put it under the water trey and remove the wood chip trey for more air flow and you get WAY more and good flavored smoke
Its important to have the tube right beneath the waterpan and off the bottom because any liquid in the pellets will swell and it doesn't work but its 1000% better in my opinion
I bought a used Masterbuilt because wasn’t sure I would be into smoking. I definitely am. Anyways, you can clean glass with a razor blade and spraying rubbing alcohol. I like to use a pellet tube which produces 4-5 hours of smoke.
Just bought this smoker and it says never use pellets but i dont see the difference between pellets and chips besides burn time have you noticed any difference? Does it void the wrranty?
@chrisdaily5022 you would not want to put pellets in the original tray or drop tray. He is referring to a smoke tube or smoke snake tube. You simply fill the tube and place it on one of the racks, light it, then blow the flame out. It will produce more smoke if that is what you desire. Cheers 🍻
It is a standard extension cord. Have used the same 100 foot cord for all my smokers without a problem. Never looked to see if plugging right in the wall was required
Ive had mine for years and love it. Im just starting to get a tingle or shock when i use it so i think its the plug. Going to upgrade to a newer one. Ive smoked tons of meat on mine.
I ceramic coated the window on the door and it literally never fogs up. Nothing can stick to it. Its the same thing professional detailers use on cars paint work. And it is good for 500°F.
Walmart for 23 bucks. It's an aluminum folding camp table. Love it. Have had it for 10 years and they they still make it. Just bought one for my parents.
Thats because tina got held up and didnt make it home in time. so I was left to keep it going and I dont cook fish very often. so It was my fault it got over cooked. my lack of experience with fish.
I have this exact same Masterbuilt digital electric smoker. It's less than 2 months old. How do you get it smoker to stay on? I My smoker began turning itself off on the second smoke. I filed a warranty claim, and MB at first (Shannon S) said they would send me a new one if I gave them my shipping address. I did, Shannon acknowledged that, and then they sent me an email 6 days later saying I have never supplied the shipping address they had already acknowledged, so MB was canceling the warranty service.
I'd contact them again. I've never had to deal with warranty as all the ones I've owned were trouble free. And they did say they send you a new one. I'd call and get that sorted
Does the hearing comes form the wood or plug? It seems to me that from the plug but I might be wrong. One day I’d love to have smoker that controls the heat form the timber by itself 😊
Heat is via electricity. Thats the simplicity and beauty of an electric smoker. no need to baby sit it like you have to with wood or charcoal or even propane. just a simple set it and forget simple smoker.
This isn't a BBQ it's an electric smoker. It's eventually gonna die. But you can get 8 to 10 years out of it using it quite a bit. And for the price you can't beat it
Our old masterbuilt started having control issues, so we ordered this unit and couldn't be more shocked at the quality. Well, OK it could be worse. you look to show a decent door gasket, like our old unit, the new one is a flimsy rubber that didn' follow the contour of the door. the chip loader is rough on the hands, the old one has well moulded corners and is user friendly. the chip burner tray use to be of good size, the new one is tiny and would burn up way to often, the chip shield is made like by mentally challenged, (I can only guess made by Chinese labor camps), the grease drip port is now on the back so rain, debris, and mice will clutter it and mice can get stuck in the grease. the old lock was also user friendly with one hand operation the new does not work like the old one. the old had a metal rack guide, this unit, with molded tracks right into the side wall bind the racks from free movement. I agree I use a dedicated smoker for fish.
Manufacturer says to do a two hour empty burn on some models prior to use. It will reduce chemical contamination during cooking.
Good to know

Love mine
Great video..I own 1 and smoked all kinds of meat n still running strong and true 👍
They are simple affordable and work like a champ. Love ours too.
I’m about due to buy my second ones , just wish they came with casters on the legs
Agree 100%. Casters sure would be nice
I'm going to add casters to mine
is that a standard extension cord you've got the smoker plugged into? if so, is that recommended or should I plug directly into the wall?
It is a standard extension cord. Have used the same 100 foot cord for all my smokers without a problem. Never looked to see if plugging right in the wall was required
Do you need to dump the ash everytime you add chips?
Nope. Just pull out cylinder shaped tray and add more

Glad yours has server you well for so long too. We love these
Would you be able to cook some ribs or even a brisket?
Not sure never tried them. But it gets up to 270 degrees I think
How big is the internal wood chip tray? Im looking to buy a new smoker, my last one died.
Good video. So u think that smoker is big enough for a packer size brisket? 12-15 pounds? Thanks
never smoked one of those but I bet it would work great.
How low does it go ?can I also use it as a holding oven?
Not sure on either.

I'll NEVER buy another 'master built' product in my life. Poorly designed, trouble from day one. Just give it some time. The display will fail.
