👴 Old Composer Reactions 🤘
As a metalhead that listens to 99% metal, I open my days, live them, and end them with heavy metal
1000% this. I couldn’t have said it any better.
I like my coffee how I like my metal. Extra 'shuggah.
I put some Meshuggah every morning with my coffee and blunt. Same goes for the end of the day.
Meshuggah has mesmerized me with their musical composition and lyrics
Just wanted to say I love you geebz and your channel! You have such phenomenal ears in those cans, and a heart of gold!
Thanks for the uploads ❤
Lately I've been on a Meshuggah binge, nice to start your morning with some aggressive polyrhythmic maddness
Start, maintain and end my days with metal. Been that way for a good 20 years now. It brings me peace.
Of course I start everyday with metal and coffe 😊
Same. Have a cup of black coffee and listen to metal on the drive to work each morning.
My alarm is Pantera Walk! I'm in field based social work, and I spend a lot of time in my car. I have a whole soundtrack to cleanse my palate from what I see everyday. It is a ton of RATM and Tool. You are so awesome and honest! I love your channel!
MESHUGGAH - IMMUTABLE - my soundtrack for chop chop chop breakfast / brunch in kitchen - gives me uplifting ABBA disko a$$ shake groove with MSHGGH bulldozer engine for coming day
I love their last album. Ligature Marks and Kaleidoscope are my favorites
I love heavy music, always have. Now 50 yrs old, I tend to listen to lower key music on the morning. Minor changes as I grow older. Still 90% go heavy or go home.
Every morning is Black Tongue - Nadir. And La Colombe coffee.
Great metal morning songs (to add to you playlist, if you feel so inclined):
Dark Tranquillity - The Fatalist
Sepultura - Troops of Doom (1990 version)
Mortal Sin - I Am Immortal
Testament - Trial by Fire
Trouble - Bastards Will Pay
🤘🏼
Never a bad time for the music we love 😎
Metal always gives me strength
I like to go on a jog in the morning if the weathers good.. With some good quality headphones and play air drums.. I have been listening too the same 5 albums for the last 12 months or more.. Its the only albums i find myself wanting too listen to when going for this jog. I get my coffee brewing while i go on my run so its ready when i get back.. Good too see ya Geebz!
For me at least I find listening to heavy metal calms me, I find it peaceful
I pick something different every time, theres so much out there, but I love Disturbed's inspiring "Indestructible" and "Unstoppable"
Been starting the morning for the last couple weeks with some 80s old school Grindcore and a "bowl of greens". Repulsion and Terrorizer mostly.
Amazing! I do the same thing in the car on the way to work. I gotta get some Meshuggah in to stimulate the senses, ya know? I'm glad you've taken to Meshuggah. They come across SO abrasive but the poetry and the rhythms are so damn unique and thought provoking.
It's why I came here and it's why I'm so proud of my favorite band, ever! 😅
i've been listening to Jerome's Dream A LOT recently so yeah, they pump me up for the day lol
I need to try this. Not the musician part because I unfortunately do not have that ability, but starting my day with metal may be very beneficial
Thank you Geebz
A musical start always sets the stage for a good day. Anything from 80s industrial to metal are on my list.
Meshuggah- Demiurge
Is what I listen to in the morning when I need a lift
I've been cranking Temic's song "Falling Away" before I go into work... such a simple uplifting song! Just discovered them last week!
I LOVE starting my morning with something heavy! Glad you feel the same! For me it's usually Knocked Loose or something else in the heavy hardcore scene like Kublai Khan TX.
I don't start my mornings with metal, BUT whenever I feel sluggish during the day, I'll put on some really heavy and energetic, one that never fails is Panera - Domination live in moscow.
Another one is Arch enemy - Ravenous live in tokyo, it will get you going like nothing else.
Yes uncle Geebz! It's great to start the day with TOOL's so called Holy Trinity (Disposition, Reflection and Triad) - or The Grudge, if you need something to give you a jolt immediately. Alright!🤙
you remind me of the dad from meet the fockers and i love it
Lately it's been The Mark Of Cain or Helmet on the way to work. Nice heavy grooves.
My Alarm changes regularly to a specific Spotify song. Currently its Inferi - Vile Genesis. Such an intense wall of sound to wake up to. Love it. It was Deliverance - Opeth for years
Really liked this video. Short and sweet and definitely got me thinking. I wake up, and put my headphones in within the first five minutes. Then I make coffee and feed the cats. The last couple months I’ve been starting my day with TOOL, Meshuggah, Primus, Sleep Token, or Korn. Sadly I don’t usually wake up early enough to make it to the guitar before I gotta head to work
absolutely! I call it my "morning sonic caffeine"
Ironically not Meshuggah so much, Meshuggah makes me sleepy, I've used it to go sleep before, there's something in those rhythms perfect to go to sleep to.
Lately It's been a healthy dose of Sleep Token, Silent Planet, Spiritbox, plus Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Leprous, etc.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Geebz! I mostly listen to metal when I'm commuting to work, and if I need a boost of energy to get things done quickly: metal. :D (be it at work, at home, etc)
I've been doing it for ages now. Especially playing through my favorite heavy breakdowns on the guitar.
PS: I don't even drink coffee, that's my coffee. Haha
Been really into Skinlab and Dry Kill Logic the last 2 days
i like Meshuggah in my morning coffee,
Btw Copenhell i Denmark is the Police most favoirite festival in Denmark cus people are calm only the music is aggresive.
No Meshuggah in my coffee, I drink it black 🤘
As far as my daily soundtrack, it depends on what I have scheduled.
If I need to physically bring it, the more brutal the better(Slaughter to Prevail,Infant Annihilator) But if it’s a more chill day I may soften it a bit with some Tool, Polyphia,Animals as Leaders.
Among other things that it is capable of,
Music may be implemented as support system against whatever challenges may face.
Awwwright!!🤘
Edited for spelling 😂
Definitely depends on a mood, lately I actually started to listen more to something chill in the mornings. But I can even fall asleep with my metal 😅
My morning music
Pantera - Fucking Hostile
Lamb of God - What I’ve Become
Slayer - Ditto Head
I listen to almost everything when it comes to music, but nothing beats the sound of fast metal in the morning
Meshuggah -Disenchantment
"Me - the paragon of fear
An immobile skein of tangled nerves exposed
Hastily clawing my way
Into the darkest of my inner scenes of torture"
Meshuggah just gets the gears going.
I solo or play over songs I don’t like and try to make them so I do like. Post your morning solos!
my favorite in the morning is lorna shore, especially their pain remains album
English Breakfast Tea for me. 🤘😎👍
Bro, Metal is my coffee
Everyday on the way to work 🤘
Without music in morning there is no way any day would actually work at all. Lately been going through a patch of melodic death metal and any variant of black, death or prog metal with classical harmonies involved. I dont really do coffee though which is probably some kind of heresy here in Sweden.
I'll break it down for you Mr. Geebz, I wake up and first thing its bong rip time, next is giant glass of water and after that it's METAL time till I feel inspired to make my day happen. Usually for me it's old Meshuggah or Any Given Day for the first couple jams then it goes to Ingested, Oceano, Berried Alive... etc.
Back to the primitive, drink all your coffee! \m/
I usually commute to work in complete silence. Well, not COMPLETE silence. I have my radio set to the aux cable, but with nothing hooked up, there's constant static. Don't know why I prefer it that way.
Cant have me coffee without Meshuggah
Ive been listening to Unearth in the AM for a few months. The best metalcore ever with strong lyrics and vocals. Check out anything off of "The Oncoming Storm" or the new stuff "The Wretched; The Ruinus".
Also, Children of Bodom, specifically "Follow the Reaper"
I've usually got my ear buds in and metal on before I've had a cup of tea. Sometimes it's a random play list, sometimes it's a specific song that I just need to start my day with...Metallica or Tool or Pantera or Korn or Rammstein or who knows that day. Glad to know there's others out there like me 🤘
Nothing like a good wake up to Clockworks by Meshuggah.
Or lately, Hell Patrol by Judas Priest.
I'm 30 now and it depends on the day to be honest. Usually the first song I hear is the random one I wake up with until I get in the truck.
I highly recommend you checking out Better Lovers band. 3/5ths of Every time I Die, singer from Dillinger Escape Plan, and Will Putney from fit for an autopsy. Killer tones, good production, and just good freaking metal.
Hearts and Farts Geebz 🤙
Check out Everything Is Made In China - Blindfold (and many, many other their tracks) to uncover some of the most suitable early morning themes...
First two albums of this band literally are the early breezy summer morning embodied in sound...
Metal is as important as my coffee every day. No set band or songs, but currently Polaris is my go to... Or another Aussie band called Future Static.
give or take an hour wiki says in chinesse medicine that the metal element is most active from 3am to 7am and earth 7am to 11am. even a plethora of specific frequencies that the music could be hitting that affect that stuff. still difficult for me to get how the metal element is air element in other belief sytems but its a matter of perspective
Really depends on the day, but it will either be heavy metal, electric core or jazz haha
Meshuggah with coffee is like dumping the entire espresso machine into your cup
I will put a heavy metal playlist on low volume when I sleep.... only way I can get my mind to turn off of stupid things and just zone 😂 slipknot is the best at putting me to sleep, its like the music form of adderall
Just this morning I was rewatching Ligature Marks live at bloodstock 2023.
Love it especially because of that one gigantic flag in the crowd 👀
You should give Maudlin of the Well a listen, I love their "Bath" album, specifically They Aren't All Beautiful
I have been listening to Sub Orbital Blues by Rivers of Nihil in my morning shower almost every morning. As someone who did 3/4ths of a physics degree I feel obligated to say: the prevailing theory of how the sun will age is in around 500,000,000 years from now the sun's boundry will have expanded to be between the orbits of Earth and Mars so all evidence of our wretched species will be wiped from the face of the universe in 1.6×10¹⁶seconds (I remembered I forgot to convert years into days and hours in my morning shower) . Metal. As a request you should check out the album Our World is Grey by As Cities Burns. It is not metal. The song I want to request is Timothy, but it seems to me more lyrically driven and is long when played with the long interlude+bonus track at the end, but I think As Cities Burn is an often overlooked talent.
I woke up, can't wait to eat
Got my cereal, boy was I beat
Opened the fridge, and to my dismay
There was no milk, my mother will pay
I want some milk!
My coffee grows cold
I want some milk!
I should've been told
Not in the morning (at night), but yeah. For some time, in the morning i listen to Scarlatti music by Scott Ross.
This morning it was Geebz *8 )
But yeah, at many points I've enjoyed a heavy breakfast.
There absolutely is something with the power of music. Whether it's something progressive like Opeth or The Ocean Collective to center yourself on your way to work or something just brutal like Chelsea Grin to release something negative.
Metal all the time!!! Dude you really gotta listen to some Nile on the channel.
Rad Dude! I totally get what you are saying Bro. Have a great day Sir! \m/,
A bit of bathtub shitter while feeding the cat
My goodness, you have great hair! It looks awesome long like that.
Opeth (Watershed), Omerod (Amensal Rise), Orbit Culture, NeO..... and the like for my metal mind. I have to admit though it's not until later in the day.
I'm the opposite. Ninety percent of the music I listen to throughout the day is metal, but when I wake up I'll either listen to nothing at all for a couple hours, or I might just do some EDM or pop. By 9 or 10am I'll kick in to metal and stay there getting heavier throughout the day. I like to listen to the hardest stuff, something like Amon Amarth, late evening after dinner while I'm "winding down" for bed
Metal and Pepsi personally but yeah for decades now
Interesting. I personally need a minute to shift a gear and start my day and during that time I just want quiet. But I’m curious what songs would you put on in the morning?
Every morning begins with The Sword for my 30 minute commute.
Used to be heavier stuff, like Helmet and Megadeth, but for a while now its been The Sword from Warp Riders or Apocryphon.
ngl, I don't use to hear metal in the morning 😅
Great video!
New Slift this week!
At least once a week. I used to do it daily in my 30s
Hi Geebz! Dont really know if you still take comment suggestions but you should really give the band "Parius" a lookup, criminally underrated. Specially check their 2022 album's song "The Acid Lakes of Ganymede"
Geebz you can’t leave us hanging, which tracks from these bands do you listen to in the morning?
System of a Down is another great one for mornings
I only do what Huberman says. 90mins atleat after waking.
i hate coffee, but for the last year spotify told me i was in 0,05% top meshuggah listeners ;) you gotta wake up some how and that freaking metronome guys helps a lot
I go to bed with Bleed and wake up with Demiurge. My swedish cup o' Joe
Matt Garstka - "Meshuggah is like a PED"
It's called self dosing lol
Agreed, but for the FULL EFFECT have a teaspoon of lime pickle, try an asian store for this....thank me later.
Me!!!!
Dear Geebz, will you be my dad?
The newest Animals As Leaders album, Parrhesia, coz it's their best album. All killer, no filler. Awwwwright!
only coffee and toastes aren´t not enought, I need more supply of Death metal breakfast in the morning before get to work🤘🥱🤘
Sleep token starts my morning lately,,, and my evening to be honest haha…. Take me back to Eden is the masterpiece that keeps giving me
Which of the tracks of those bands are your favs lately Jeevs?
