@behemothofficial Bartzable - The Decomposer Lounge Music Reaction and Dissection
#BEHEMOTH #Bartzable
I HIGHLY recommend, "O' Father, O' Satan, O 'Sun!" by BEHEMOTH.
Probably their Magnum Opus.
Ora Pro Nobus Lucifer, also.
Behemoth actually has a huge catalogue worth reviewing!
for sure! those 2 and ben sahar are my favorites from the satanist.
Yeah was going to recommend the same. Messe Noir is also pretty sick (along with the music video).
@@hoopsmccann639 The entire record is a masterpiece. One ov the best albums released in Decades. Instant classic imo
@@melkor5901 i agree. i said it was my favorite metal album since ashes of the wake.
"Ora pro nobis Lucifer" RIPS!
Mgla- Exercises in Futility V, highly recommend
A masterpiece
YES!
It's a must.
Needs to happen
Was going to comment that too!
Behemoth - the satanist is an amazing album and any sing out if it would be good. :)
It is considered the best metal album of the decade.
One my favorite albums 🤘
Messe Noire live was life changing.
@@sovex9331 Best of the decade? By who?
@Steavis Butthead Anyone who subjectively says that's the best metal album of the decade, I don't even care about their opinion.
Yo guys let’s have him listen to bloodbath “eaten”
Please and thank you
That would be freakin awesome
yes please
Yes, followed by a lyrical breakdown.
He needs White Ward in his life.
You absolutely have to do Mgła - Exercises in Futility, either I or V!
'Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer' is a must listen. One of my favorite Behemoth songs.
Mine as well. Hearing it perfomed (while jumping around and pushing) was the highlight of the night for me. Gothic Theater, Denver CO, May 3rd 2016. Amazing show!
Same, that’s the song that finally got me into Behemoth and after going through the whole catalogue it’s still one of my favorites
I loved the face he made when the vocals kicked in 🤣
100% thought you were about to spit your coffee out when it kicked in. 😂
Bartzabel is a particularly dangerous and old demon, who is "the spirit of the planet Mars". The video was inspired by Aleister Crowley's conjuration of the Spirit of Mars book.
Absolutely. Graphiel is the Angel that is his "handler," so when performing the insanely dangerous act of invoking this war like spirit, Graphiel must first be supplicated. It's an interesting read, the Crowley stuff. Nergal is obviously a fan lol.
I really enjoy Nergal dropping Thelemic spells into the lyrics.
nonsense
Much love! Big Behemoth fan 🤘🏼🤘🏼 if you liked this one, check out Ov Fire And Void 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
Ov Fire and Void is one of my favorites!
YESS!!!
At the risk of repeating myself, hehe. Cynic Veil Of Maya, is highly recommended...
Yes, yes it is...
I’d love to see him do “fracture”
Yeah! Is aways a pleasure to see anyone hearing Cynic.
Yeeeees. And also King of Those who know
So glad I was introduced to them this year. Their sound is so unique and intricate.
Since you liked this a lot, I'd really enjoy hearing your take on something from SepticFlesh; they're essentially an "orchestral" death-metal style group, and the musicianship behind them is absolutely phenomenal, I think you'd enjoy it quite a bit.
SepticFlesh- Portrait of a Headless Man
He's done Pyramid God.
ua-cam.com/video/gH6de5Uv_E8/v-deo.html
Like Andy said, he's already covered them before, but I agree. I would LOVE to see him react to The Violation by Fleshgod Apocalypse.
Behemoth has such a cool style. They are mostly known for the incredibly fast and aggressive songs, yet they manage to fit songs like this in the newer albums.
Demigod and Slaves Shall Serve are the songs I would recommend. Nothing hits as hard like Slaves Shall Serve. At least for me.
OMG finaly someone with a great taste. Slaves Shall Serve hits the hardest. I like the newer version :)
Evoe also a banger
I think somewhere in heaven there's a video of him breaking down the entirety of Meshuggah's Catch 33 long-play album
Behemoth have come a very long way in their sound. I used to not be a fan but with the way they're arranging stuff, all the different pieces they're bringing to the table, has slowly been moving them up on my playlist.
I agree. They're aging like fine wine.
Morbid Angel "God of emptiness" please
since you are diving deeper, i would recommend Emperor - "Alsvartr (The Oath) + Ye Entrancemprium"
You picked up your cup at exactly the right time haha! Amazing description of the opening feeling. I really dig your approach to music and sound. It’s actually moving. Keep it up!
Unbelievable to see live 😎🤙
More extreme choir metal: Batushka - Yekteniya 1. The entire album is awesome, and I like some other songs more, but the first song off of this album is a good primer for the band's sound. From 0:00 to 5:45 is the first song. ua-cam.com/video/xgfa5UlZAL8/v-deo.html
Lolol. Didn't think I'd ever see you do Behemoth. I guess Dethklok is next.
Already done earlier
@@TruzFest can't find either. Link?
ua-cam.com/video/LtObChGvMJE/v-deo.html was talking about behemoth, waiting for Dethklok ^^
@@TruzFest well, we can always go for more dethklok 😅
Holy Hell! I've never clicked on the video so fast. Love your decomposing Geebz! Keep up the great work. Greetings from UK.
my all time favorite band! I love that their music isn't just the typical shred our faces off, there is a lot of meaning in each song and thought on how its going to be portrayed. This song is definitely an excellent example of this! Keep up the amazing videos!
Daimonos DaimonoS DAIMONOS. That is the track to fully sum up all that is Behemoth.
Love to see Behemoth on here! Epic epic epic! Fingers crossed to hear some Alkaloid on here some day!
Behemoth is such a huge classic metal band. "Ora Pro Nobus Lucifer" should be your next song by them from their masterpiece The Satanist.
ALSO to another recommendation for Cult of Luna! Their catalogue is colossal, diverse and definitely worth a listen! "Three Bridges" is you want their newest stuff, "Circle" if you want their older stuff, "Dim" if you want a more gentle ride or their magnum opus "Dark City, Dead Man".
ALSO ALSO ALSO mentioning Violet Cold a solo project by a dude from Azerbaijan who doesn't give a shit and samples sounds from all over the place creating some of the most unique music. "We Met During The Revolution" from his newest album or "Silver Moon pt2" from an older album.
The Satanist was considered by many to be one of the metal albums of the decade for the 2010s. Would be well worth your time.
The first track on this album, "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel", is one of the greatest black metal songs recorded in my humble opinion.
I highly agree
Blow your Trumpets is the first track on The Satanist. Bartzabel comes from I Loved You at Your Darkest. He already reacted to that song, but it's been blocked by copyright. :/ Agree though that it's fantastic. That whole album is basically perfect. I still remember exactly where I was the first time I heard O Father, O Satan, O Sun.
SUMMONING fans, let's introduce Summoning for him, shall we?
If you want something completely different than any other, please give a try to SUMMONING.
They mix black metal elements to what is called Dungeon Synth and all their lyrics are based or inspired by the works of Tolkien and Middle-earth.
They are so influential and recognized that in 2016 around 20 other bands collab in releasing an tribute album (3 CD's full!) covering Summoning songs.
There's so many songs I could recommend for you that I drown in ideas.
I think "Old Mornings Dawn" captures their essence best.
Really appreciate you digging in to the black metal!
This is actually one of their most chill songs, if you can believe that. Stuff like this, Havohej Pantocrator & O Father O Satan O Sun are all bit more subdued, but also very epic & grandiose.
Their older stuff (to use one of your sayings that I like) will really hit you with the People's Elbow if you're not ready for it. And not just that, it'll hit you with the Stone Cold Stunner, the People's Elbow AND top it off with a Swanton Bomb. The whole works.
Songs like Prometherion, Demigod, Shemhamforash, etc, etc. It's all insane. I remember when I first discovered Behemoth as a pre-teen or whenever it was, Inferno was absolutely the fastest drummer I've ever heard. And he held that title until more and more tech death bands came along and started pushing the boundaries of how crazy you can get with your instruments lol.
But yeah, the last two Behemoth albums have slowed down a bit, but it's almost like they've become more wise in their age lol. Their *demonic warlord* years are over, but they've simultaneously entered their *mystical dark wizard* era lmao.
It's more about the atmosphere, rather than how brutal they can be. Personally though, I love every Behemoth era.
I'm done monologuing now, so lemme throw some suggestions at ya:
-Alas, Lord Is Upon Me
-Ov Fire And The Void
-At The Left Hand Ov God
-He Who Breeds Pestilence
Fair warning: they're all still *very* heavy at points, but overall slow enough that it's still somewhat manageable lol.
Oh btw, for lyrical breakdowns:
-Art Of Dying by Gojira
-Where Owls Know My Name by Rivers Of Nihil
-Planet Of The Apes by Devin Townsend
As Above so Below - amazing atmosphere and one of their best.
I like how you can hear every little detail in this song.
This is the song that got me into Behemoth. Softest song of theirs lol. Love this band! Keep up the great work Geebz!
Same here, absolutely addicted to The Satanist
Behemoth is a band that must be seen live. May I suggest Decapitated - Day 69. It has one of my favorite metal drum fills/solo.
Never clicked so fast. Thank you!!!
Sorry to hear about the shoulder. I've been dealing with frozen shoulder for over a year now. I sincerely hope you recover more quickly
Thank you sir❤️ I like the way you approach this song and that was their intention for the first part of the song
I love it when they layer electric guitars with an acoustic. Opeth did that a lot and it's always great to see.
I love the atmosphere in this song
Oh that's an easy suggestion, a lyrical view on where owls know my name by rivers of nihil would be nice. While you're at it, rivers of nihil has other great compositions to view overall as well, subtle change for an example. Hollow is also nice. Not so subtle in terms of what it's about, but i find it not only relatable but a nice track as well. Great use of droning sounds depicting the whole "hollow" aspect.
Where Owls Know My Name: Must do the official video. It's amazing.
love the t-shirt geebz.
If you like Behemoth, but want something a little bit more complex musically, SepticFlesh would also be a great choice. Symphonic Death Metal
Anaal Nakraths Idol
Yes. Portrait of a headless man for lyrics.
He's done Pyramid God
ua-cam.com/video/gH6de5Uv_E8/v-deo.html
Bruh your profile is Trve Kvlt
Not the behemoth track I would have picked, but a good one.
The thumbnail for this is just spot on :D
Behemoth - O Father o Satan
Ihsahn - NaCl
Ihsahn - Celestial Violence
Ihsahn - Crooked red line (Saxophone death metal)
All great choices. I'd love to hear his breakdown of the works of Ihsahn.
I’d bump this. Love to hear O Father with Behemoth or anything with Ihsahn.
Love it!
Some heavy music lately, nice. I love all of this.
Ihsahn- Arcana Imperii. Amazing song off an amazing album. Not a fan of black metal typically, but that album (Ámr) helped me understand it a little better. Also Behemoth's Satanist and I Loved You At Your Darkest.
Maybe check out Emperor's last album, Prometheus. Ihsahn was writing all of Emperor's music by that album, and it's sort of a more black metal precursor to his more proggy solo work. It's a pretty unique black metal album.
And Leprous is Ihsahn's live band.....
@@liliIiliIilil love it and own it
@@wolverine669 I know. I have listened to Contaminate Me. I might be listening to that album to get into Leperous
@@ianmcpeck424 no doubt, just thought that if he might have missed the connection between these two.... 😊
Straight Geebin' out
Nice of you to review some more behemoth. I'll pop in the comments every so often to urge you to check out Ulcerate - stare into death and be still. I think you'll appreciate the drummer and the musical voyage. Cheers, and ty for the videos!
I can see the music working it's way through your soul as you listen. It's awesome. Lol
Summoning -Old morning’s dawn is amazing song, should be interesting for a composer to decompose :)
I've asked for this for quite a while, but yet again, I would love to see you dissect Crowbar or their lead singer's solo stuff (Kirk Windstein)
Walk With Knowledge Wisely, Planets Collide, or Existence Is Punishment are great
For some really innovative progressive black metal, you should check out Ihsahn's work. He's the brother-in-law of Leprous' lead singer (Einar Solberg), and a founding member of the legendary black metal band Emperor. His solo work is amazing and really unique.
I would suggest Celestial Violence, that features both Ihsahn and Einar in singing duty, and truly stellar melodies :)
Edit: I should also mention that Ihsahn worked with Nergal (Behemoth's lead singer) in a very cool project called Me And That Man.
I have the same headset and the bass tone indeed sounds amazing.
Lyrics for gojira : the art of dying !!
PLEASE geebz. For real. Some of Joe’s absolute best work. So poetic and authentic.
Should check out Nergals other band 'Me and that Man' also. Glad to see someone review metal like this.
I was not expecting to like it, but it was surprisingly great
Absolutely fantastic song. And the album art is awesome--like a super dark baroque painting. The background vocals and acoustic chord progression remind me alot of Bathory
I love your channel. Kind of off topic of behemoth but I just got into the band sparks thanks to Edgar Wright's new biopic of them. You should do a video for their first hit " This Town Ain't Big Enough For the Both of Us". Faith No More have also covered them. Thanks and keep up the great videos. I hope your shoulder feels better soon
And as for the back vocals giving dark cathedral ambiance, it always remids me the Nocturnus - Paranormal states.
Great reaction! Behemoth is an awesome band. Their album, The Satanist, is IMO, their best album. It’s a fantastically dark album. Please react to Mgla - Exercises in Fertility VI. Thanks, have an awesome day,, and take care of that shoulder.
FUTILITY. I dont want to know what exercises in fertility are about.
@@v_iron lmao! You are right! Futility!
As much as I love VI (personal favorite), I think V would be the more interesting from a musical analysis perspective.
My Bloody Valentine - Soon
An absolute must hear track for the context of the modern wall of sound / shoegaze vibe
Orphaned land - we do not resist middle Eastern metal dude
Between the Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
Please and thanks you.🙏🤞🦥😀
THIS THIS THIS!!
It is a crime that Geebz had not heard BTBAM.
@@fortyfive4632 yeah I’ve suggested it on other videos for sure.
@@fortyfive4632 @pogwigginsprod. he has a video for astral body. Check it out!👍
Oh yes
Another great break down my dude, sub'd yesterday just to stay fresh, for perspective I sub to like 5 people. lmao
Still would kill to see you do Rivers of Nihil, you love a bassist and as a bonus they have a permanent sax player that kicks ass.
The metal frown - check
Head bobbing - check
Next step - violent headbanging :) You got this, Geebz :)
OOOOooooooh boy Geebz, you crossed over to the DARK SIDE!
I would really like to recommend a band from Tokyo, Japan called Crystal Lake. My favourite song is "The Burden" (re-recorded version) but all their songs are great. The video for "Disobey" will blow your mind. It's very artsy and there are some fun references in video (such as dressing up as Queen in a couple flash cuts).
dude was a coach on the Polish TV show The Voice of Poland. and charged with blasphemy. just wild!
I never heard Behemoth do a ballad before. I would be interested in your reaction to one of their typically extreme, wall of furious noise songs.
Hey again! Please check out Fit For an Autopsy! You’ll appreciate their production a ton. Great rhythm and atmosphere too. Black Mammoth, Heads Will Hang or Flatlining are places to start.
Love it man. I'm still holding out for a dillinger escape plan reaction but if you want to hear more behemoth, you have to check something out from the Satanist. I would recommend 'messe noir' or 'ora pro nobis lucifer'
You should do the lyric reaction to Sons of Winter and Stars by Wintersun. I believe you have already done that song.
They're nonsense fantastical lyrics though. Just like dragonforce lyrics. Great song, but no one needs to analyze those lyrics
@@chadmarx7718 That is your opinion as far as I am concerned. I find the lyrics to that song deep and moving. Everyone is different though.
You really have to dig into Behemoths older material, this is kind of tame compared to Left Hand Of God for example or Slaves Shall Serve which is a total assault of the senses, love that you're listening to Behemoth.
You should listen to Al Svartr (The Oath)/Ye Entrancemperium, that would be amazing (its two songs first one is an intro)
I highly recommend you to check another band from Poland called Riverside. Its a prog metal band that just makes prog nowadays. Why should I be frightend by a Hat is a good first song to get to know em
This is a good pick for a Behemoth track because Nergal (singer of the band) once said this is one of his top 5 favorite Behemoth songs!
Btw, although there's probably a million songs I'd like to recommend, above all else, I have to urge you to check out Dance by Cellar Darling. All I'll say is it's a prog rock masterpiece with piano, flute, and hurdy gurdy solos. There's a lot to unpack there.
I am surprised you have not asked to review Portal. Can anyone recommend their most tricky song to test him?
Have you tried some ice on shoulder?! It might help a little bit...Yes more please. Cradle of filth - Funeral in Carpathia
Songs like this are more than just songs, they are forbidden magic or something.
Behemoth - Forest
Behemoth - At the left hand ov God
... such great songs as well.
DAMN!!! Hell yeah
New sub here. I’ve watched several of your videos and enjoy your analysis. I especially appreciate your willingness to explore music outside of the mainstream.
If I were king for a day, I would decree that your should listen to ‘The Grand Conjuration’ by Opeth.
This song 😍
Lyric analysis for Art of Dying by Gojira would be fantastic Geebz!! Great vid as always
Blow Your Trumpets Gabrie,l is the song that got me into behemoth, its a really grate song especially for drums
So, the lyrics for the song is, (see below):
Behemoth-Bartzabel
O Purple flame
O whirling wheel ov life
Appear! Move! Rise!
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the laws divine I quell
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the raging blood cells
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the spear, the sword, the spell
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the word that openeth Hell
By Ra Hoor Khuit
By Elohim
By Samael
By Seraphim
By Hoor and Khem
By Gods ov War
Ares and Mars, and mighty Thor
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the power ov the panther's spell
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the circling citadel
Come unto me Bartzabel
By this mind ov miracles
Come unto me Bartzabel
By the moon and stars, I swear
By Ra Hoor Khuit
By Elohim
By Samael
By Seraphim
By Hoor and Khem
By Gods ov War
Ares and Mars, and mighty Thor!
By Gods ov War
By Khem and Hoor
By Hachiman
Mentu, and all
And by thy master, Graphiel
Come unto me
O Bartzabel
You're welcome. 🤘🤘🙂🙂🇸🇪🇷🇴🇸🇪🇷🇴🍺🍺
I saw these guys live in 2004 it was insane.
hey Geebz, you should definitely listen to a band called Unprocessed.
"Deadrose" or "Fear" are brilliant tracks.
the last continent - la dispute!! A great post hardcore song with some great changes through the length of it
Please, please, please, please. Do a lyrical breakdown of "The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit" and "Said the King to the River". Well, maybe first do a music reaction and then a lyrics reaction. It is really worth it!
I haven't listened to Behemoth in a good 10 years or so, but they really are the best black metal band imo.
Can you please review Inferi and/or vildjharata for future videos please? Thanks fore everything :)
Great suggestion! Vildhjarta and also the drummers other band (similar to Vildhjarta) Humanity's Last Breath would be great.
I really would love you to listen to the entire Kezia album from Protest the Hero and then go into the lyrics as it tells a story (concept album)
He’d LOVE Beyond Creation - Chromatic Horizon, even though it’s so short
I think The Aura would be a better intro, but it's my favorite by them so I'm clearly biased XD
@@andystockman761 honestly ALL their songs are ridiculously good, it’s so hard to just pick one, the Aura is insane
Opeth lyric video please!
Hey Geebz, your first Behemoth video is stuck behind a copyright lock for me here in the US. I don't know if there's anything you can do about that, but Behemoth is one of my favorite bands, and I'd LOVE to see what you have to say about Blow Your Trumpets.
O father o Satan o sun would be nice next 🖤 it has beautiful melodic changes
And I still suggest the greatest show on earth by nightwish of course, whenever you're ready!
Your song choices, man! Always on point. I recommend Ghost next! They're not heavy or black metal by any means (they also have "satanic" themes) but I would love to hear your reviews!
You should do a dissection on Dissection.
I'm surprised you haven't don't this song yet, but I would highly reccomed you check out "Voice of the soul" by Death
