I’ve been watching your tutorials lately and I need to tell you how much I appreciate what you’re teaching. I’ve had this ruler and this book for decades and I’m now excited to finally use them. You explain so thoroughly. And your voice is so pleasant to listen to. Thank you so much.

I found your GORGEOUS blk and white quilt on UA-cam. I want to make it and the other one with the colored scraps. What a beautiful way to mix up half square triangles into a large distinct and beautiful Overall Quilt Pattern! Genius! Scrappy Ribbons is gorgeous!

The Easy Angle ruler and Omnigrid 96 are very similar and I love them! I find I can get much more accurately pieced HSTs by cutting the triangles before I sew. I also cut off the point of the triangles before I sew them together so that I don't have to deal with those pesky dog ears after sewing. Another reason I like to cut the triangles from strips is that you can get more triangles from the width of fabric, with less waste,
This is definitely a quilt I'll be working on! Thanks for great inspiration.

Really fantastic Michelle!!!!! I love it!! the HST's seem a tad daunting, but hey... that's what we do. I find the repetitive to be a bit therapeutic sometimes.
As soon as you'd sewn together the 4 blocks, could see the ribbons... How sweet is that??
Thanks, as always for your tutorials, and for the patterns you provide!! xoxox e. NB 🇨🇦

I have several of these types of triangle rulers. I use my CG Folded Corner Clipper for most things. (I use Magic 8 method for non scrappy stuff). They are underused and demonstrated in my view. Thank you for doing this.
I have great productivity/time saver for you and your viewers: Cut rectangles, and then simply align your ruler 1x and cut 1x. Your rectangle is: H= height of strip. W= H + .75. If you have a 2.5" strip, cut rectangles that are 2.5" H and 3.25" W. If you are cutting from a width of fabric, cut at the width (3.25" for this example) and use a Stripology ruler to easily subcut into 2.5 rectangles. Double up your fabric for even greater yield from each cut. (You do need sharp blade).
Why .75"? The .75 comes from the following: 3/8" is the width of the flat top of the 1/4" mark (the 1/4" is on an angle, so the top of it = 3/8"). You need 2 x 3/8= 6/8", or .75" so that you get the seam allowance for both pieces.
This method works for cutting sides for Triangle in Squares, Split Rectangles, etc. It saves lots of ruler turning. Give it a try. (Always make a test first)

This ruler is similar to the Creative Grids Folded Corner Clipper ( I think that's the name) created by Susan North I think. I have it permanently in my racks of go-to rulers. It means I can cut hsts from a jelly roll strip when I'm making something that cuts up a strip into different lengths. Also perfect to trim corners so snowballs end up being simply another 1/4" seam to stitch.

@@bitspiecesquiltingwine and trash tv move the process along. I’ve been processing my scraps to make 6” Kaleido blocks and 3” paper pieced economy blocks. Every quilter needs a good triangle ruler. I have several. My go to for this processing has been my CG folded Corner Clipper. I rally love your quilt. I’m not really a scrappy quilter. But these two blocks allow me to use fabric bits effectively.
