      LOL yea I didn't know that these locks come from the shop as 0-0-0-5 by default (so I had to decode it). Cheers!

    Thanks so much. My daughter had one of these from new months ago and decided to put a code in without committing it to memory. This has finally allowed me to decode it. I'd even tried brute forcing all 10,000 combos but must have had the numbers slightly off 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂

    • @Swynndla
      @Swynndla  10 місяців тому +1

      Fantastic that you got it open! Yea it's frustrating to go through all 10,000 combinations and it still not open ... sometimes if you're not pulling quite straight then it doesn't open when you go past the correct combination. Also, it's so mind-numbingly dull that it's easy to misremember where you're up to. But I'm so glad you got it open and this method was helpful! 😜😜

    This was excellent to watch. thanks for this video. I like it when a lock doesn't require that tough pull apart tensioning like this lock. Have a great weekend, cheers

    • @Swynndla
      @Swynndla  Рік тому +1

      Luckily this method exists ... otherwise we *would* need to tension it really hard, and it's too hard for me to tension it that hard in front of the camera. Even so this nice method can be tough of fingers, so I'd recommend taking lots of breaks (and maybe some tight fitting grippy gloves). Thanks PW and have a great 2023! 😜😜

    • @PocketWomen
      @PocketWomen Рік тому

      @@Swynndla the gloves are a good idea, I will try that on some other combo you have given me, help with the grip has been a big barrier to playing too much with combo locks, Though they do come in really handy when i am in hospital and need something to do with my hands but can't have picks in public. cheers

      @Swynndla  Рік тому +1

      @@PocketWomen Ahhh yea I bet you are fed up with hospitals. Yea I used to practice combo locks on the bus. I tend to tension locks too hard, and I overlook methods that require less tension. Hope you well PW.

      Oh thank you for watching my friend. Yea it can be easier using that method. The indirect method worked but it required so much strength I couldn't show it on camera (as I'd have to hold it out in front of the camera and then it would be too hard for me to tension that much). Have a great time enjoying 2023! 😜😜

    I wonder how many others are shouting at you about that left hand wheel. That's a nice method to remember. I find that bike locks fall into two categories, easy or very difficult, that looked to be in the last class. Well done.

    • @Swynndla
      @Swynndla  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! ... yea if I had gotten the first wheel correct then the rest would have fallen into place quickly. I preferred to show my real attempt rather than re-film it as I didn't wont to give a false impression of how easy it is. It certainly is one of the tougher locks to decode - well done Kryptonite! Thank you for your nice comment and I hope your 2023 is going great! 😜😜

    Nicely done! I love this method, it seems kinder on the hands than applying full tension. I wonder if the 4/0 and 8/4 confusion was because of false gates 4 positions off from the true gate? Odd that the false gates wouldn't be offset by 5 and keep some symmetry.

    • @Swynndla
      @Swynndla  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Yes I was wondering the same thing ... it was a little bit too subtle to detect a pattern. If I find one I'll let you know. Yea I tried the indirect method on this lock and it was very tiring. I couldn't show it on camera as I couldn't hold it in front of the camera and generate that much force 😜😜Cheers and have a great 2023!
