I remember it well because I had a flatmate called June (lived in Topsham, Devon) - we were students. I remember her playing it for my father when he came to visit, after he took us out to dinner. Wonderful song! Long ago memory.
Yeh! Nice! They already had color in those days, yes? IT IS BULL SH.T. I have the original copy om 16 mm. Now that's something. And this..? Is a very bad colorised copy. Gat NOTHING to do do with the original from those days. The feeling en lafters are completely GONE!
Yeah, some of the best comedy's are great because of expressions, it's not just about humour and mishaps, it's the expressions that make them stand out
I'm 40 and this is my first time watching them. Heard the name a few times but that was before UA-cam! I just watched Two Ronnies - Four Candles skit and someone recommended this
They just don't make comedy like this anymore, such a timeless classic. Absolute genius performance so skillfully performed. Every time I watch this doesn't fail to amuse.
I remember as a kid watching the old black and white repeats of L&H on the mornings of the school holidays. And how we all LOVED them! Laurel and Hardy, 2 funny gentlemen and 2 funny, gentle, men.
Two of the best comedic gods, their timing was superb........whether you watched them in the 20's or one hundred years from now, their appeal will endure.
I remember this getting to number two in the UK charts, only prevented from being no.1 by Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody! It was always a joy to watch their old films being shown in the 1970s - the success of this song was an unexpected bonus.
....parents and grandparents duty to give their children and grandchildren lessons on wonderful humanity Stan &Oli still transport all over the world. World heritage! Heaven has splendid times with them!
The greatest comedy team ever. And they were good singers. I once met and talked to Stan Laurel's daughter Lou's. A fine lady with many fond memories of her dad and Babe as she called Ollie.
Still a family favorite for us; one of the 1st songs my son learned and sang when he was 5 years old (almost 35 years ago). Being a lifelong L&H fan, had to make sure he and my daughter had lots of exposure to their talent & timeless comedy.
No comedians, ACTORS! Real actors, not like the shits of today called "stars". The real cinema is behind us and we will never find such actors and such beautiful comedies again. Wars, violence, vampires, etc. that's SHIT now. Neither this wonderful couple, nor Chaplin, Keaton and others greats, received any Oscars during their period of activities, if not one for Laurel and Chaplin and Keaton - (only honorific award) when it is given to shitty comedians like Dujardin and other such nullity. oliver Hardy never Oscar winner, why?
That's what you call real talent I remember as a child my mother and father used to sit us down to watch laurel and hardy films not like the crap today
What legends ! Watched the movie of their trip to the Uk last night with Steve Coogan as Stan . It was wonderful and sad . Eric Morcombe said if you don’t like Stan and Ollie you don’t like people . They were wonderful and so were Morcombe and Wise !!
The comedy kings at work this time singing there was no end to their talents. Theres only one Laurel and Hardy I can watch them over and over again they never fail to make me laugh.
Their last film was Utopia in about 1951. They may be long gone, but they will never be forgotten. Their comedy will continue to be passed down from generation to generation. Comedy legends.
The last film utopia, 1951, the lady in the film, Suzy delair is 104 years old, the lads especially Stan looked gaunt, he had an illness of some sort, they were both brilliant comedians.
The best you’ll ever see, from silent to the age of the talkies, how lucky are we to have access to the genius of Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy, God love them x
Stan’s deep voice was provided by none other than Chill Wills. That was him doing the lead singing with the Avalon Boys in the earlier clip where the boys did their dance. Chill Wills went on to be a totally respected and later veteran Hollywood film actor in his own right.
One of my all time faves from their Movies, brought up in the 70's on Laurel and Hardy shown on BBC2 here in UK, and was shown for many years, along with Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton, but these were always my faves, couple of Christmases a go my brothers treated me to the boxset on DVD.
I grew up watching Laurel and Hardy on telly. Now in this wonderful age of technology I can enjoy them whenever I want. 'Scram' and 'Night Owls' are my favourites along with 'Our Relations'
What a life this Laurel and Hardy song has had for it was re-released again on a 45rpm Single back in 1975 reaching number 2 in the UK charts. After this success, it was again re-released upon a 33rpm LP a copy of which I still have. Considering the many rubbish Songs that get into our Charts these day's maybe it is now time for yet another re-release again. The backing Group on this Song were - The Avalon Boys who were a quartet of singers popular in the 1930s
He certainly can sing can Oliver,,just the way he looks at the camera with that look,,Stan was born to play this part,,, If you get the chance to Stan and Olly it shows how,,sad the end of their career came and how they stayed best friends even through tough times it's an amazing film,,Steve coogan and John c Riley where fantastic
What a comedy duo I was about 6 or 7 years ago when I first saw them on TV I'm almost 70 years old now and they are still as good and funny now as they were then 😂😂they will never be forgotten
Always brilliant. They will be for the rest of time. I didn't know Stan Laurel created Laurel and Hardy. He'd read through the scripts, if he'd think it was funny enough he'd change it, sometimes re-writing the whole story. I just read that on the Net. I really had no idea. How amazing.
Ollie had a great singing voice, much better than Stan. What makes this clip do funny is the expressions on Ollie's face, especially when stans voice changes to bass-baritone then to soprano. Stan was am inspired clown but Ollie was a truly great comic actor.
These boys bring back memories of Saturdays watching them on the TV that only had 5 or 6 stations, while my parents warned us of going blind if we DON'T SIT BACK!!
This got to number two in the UK pop charts in 1975
I remember it well because I had a flatmate called June (lived in Topsham, Devon) - we were students. I remember her playing it for my father when he came to visit, after he took us out to dinner. Wonderful song! Long ago memory.
🤣🤣🤣
Das waren echt die besten der Welt!
That really is 2 mins of the finest TV/Film history......god knows how many times ive seen it, but it still makes me smile!
Indeed, their Comedy will never be topped, but the Vaudeville they snuck into a few films is Golden.
Definitely
Absalute perfect😁
Yeh! Nice! They already had color in those days, yes? IT IS BULL SH.T. I have the original copy om 16 mm. Now that's something. And this..? Is a very bad colorised copy. Gat NOTHING to do do with the original from those days. The feeling en lafters are completely GONE!
Always cheers me. Better in black and white tho obviously
when i was young..these two were sooo special ,,,!!!,,,still are!,now im 62!,,,,,,,from scotland!x
Aye, they're fair braw.
im 54,i understand im getting old,but even todays kids must know this is good comedy.......enjoy kids, you,ll never see the likes again....brilliant!
My children aged 12 and 5 adore them. My eldest has loved them since she was a toddler. I adore them too 😊
I’m 25 and I just discovered them. Make me smile the whole way through.
@@Horriblebastad Youre really not good at this trolling thing, m8. WAY too on the nose.
Its good though I kinda like Abbot and Costello more. Hard to beat 'Who's on First' and that rent money skit.
@jujitsuman68 Because you are a stupid troll trying to pick a fight.
This was the first ever 45 rpm my mommy bought I laugh and I cry ever time I watch. Honolulu baby was side 2
I love Ollie's expression when Stan starts singing soprano. It still makes me laugh out loud
Voiced by Rosina Lawrence.
omg me too lmao!
God, I love those two guys.
Yeah, some of the best comedy's are great because of expressions, it's not just about humour and mishaps, it's the expressions that make them stand out
It's been a very long time, but i have a feeling that Laurel & Hardy will be remembered and watched for many more years to come.. true legends..
I do hope so. We need more of this comedy in the world today❤
I'm 40 and this is my first time watching them. Heard the name a few times but that was before UA-cam! I just watched Two Ronnies - Four Candles skit and someone recommended this
They were amazing the World will never stop laughing Thanks to them
Oh Yes Bob monkey 🐵 house was a Fanny too
The beauty of Stan and Ollie's soft comedy is now almost forgotten in the post-modern age.
Laurel and Hardy. Timeless brilliance.
They just don't make comedy like this anymore, such a timeless classic. Absolute genius performance so skillfully performed. Every time I watch this doesn't fail to amuse.
Completely genius! Never reached again!
I remember as a kid watching the old black and white repeats of L&H on the mornings of the school holidays. And how we all LOVED them! Laurel and Hardy, 2 funny gentlemen and 2 funny, gentle, men.
Absolutely wonderful, and Ollie had a decent singing voice.
I believe he started his show biz career as a singer.
Decent???
He was superb
Cinema’s greatest ever portrayal of friendship.
The best comedy actors ever..period..
Charles Chaplin: *Hold my barret*
Simply wonderful. A more gentler comedy age. Shame we'll never get it back.
When I need a good laugh, I watch this clip
Just the sound of Ollie knocking the mallett against the bar ........priceless.
To the greatest double act that will ever be, effortlessly funny, natural, genius. God bless you
God is fiction.
Both of them could sing, this is a lovely example of them both giving it their best. I love it!!
Love this. I still have the 7 inch single with honolulu baby on the b side. It was no.2 in the U.K. charts in 1975. What a great time for music lol
Honolulu baby, where g'et those eyes, and your dark completion, that I idolise?
The greatest ever comedy duo!
Cannon n ball
Two of the best comedic gods, their timing was superb........whether you watched them in the 20's or one hundred years from now, their appeal will endure.
Excellent
Oops
Stan Laurel was a genius he was the brains behind a lot of things. From South Shields in North East England. This was a classic.
He was born in Ulveston in the north West
They just don't make em like they used to . RIP Boys .
This is cheering me up a little! :-😀
Stans face cheers me up instantly. 🇬🇧😁
I remember this getting to number two in the UK charts, only prevented from being no.1 by Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody! It was always a joy to watch their old films being shown in the 1970s - the success of this song was an unexpected bonus.
The biopic film of Laurel and Hardy ,one of the best portrayals ive seen ,really picked the best !
Absolutely first class harmonies by Oliver Hardy, and first class entertainment value
Saw Stan and Ollie (film) yesterday absolutely amazing film
....parents and grandparents duty to give their children and grandchildren lessons on wonderful humanity Stan &Oli still transport all over the world. World heritage!

A classic
Oliver Hardy was an excellent singer in his own right ❤
There is nothing that compares today to the genius of this comedy duo.
Kids should watch this to learn as a lesson in amazing art.
Love it.
I showed this to my 2 year old. Now he hits me and his mom
Rido sempre come la prima volta che lo vidi… migliore coppia comica della storia
There will NEVER be another Stan & Ollie...they were unique & irreplaceable..I love them so much!!
Days infront of the telly with my old man laughing our heads off....I sit and watch it with my kids now what an act.
Classic scene from two Hollywood legendary actors of the old school and style of Hollywood never bettered and never will be legends
Stan and Ollie the best comidians ever, and still are, there timing was perfect 👌
👍👍👍
Absolutely they will never be beaten
Classic, just like when Stan flicked his thumb into a flame in order to light his pipe

This is beautiful. Love it. Still brings a tear to my eye. The best comedy duo ever!
That's what you call real talent I remember as a child my mother and father used to sit us down to watch laurel and hardy films not like the crap today
This beautiful song makes me think about my grandpa, he loved “Stanlio e Ollio” so much and so do I, since I was a child.
1st time i heard this was as a kid in the 70s, born May 23rd 1968 from northern Ireland UK♥️🇬🇧
