I can especially relate to the second story. A former friend of mine stabbed me and my brother in the back, online and spread horrible lies against us. I had to leave all major social media where I had accounts.
Story 1: I want to go out on a limb here and say you should try to hold your judgement on the nanny. Given the information shared and how entitled the mother sounded, the nanny might have chosen not to do anything for fear of their own safety.
Yeah, I was thinking exactly this. If she attempt to reprimand them about it then she would likely be immediately sacked (possibly deported).
I also agree with this, since she can't speak English very well I fall as the entitled mother is extremely verbally abusive to the nanny and probably constantly threatens to fire her if she even accidentally steps out of line, so she probably reacted in fear. Most likely after this happened the nanny probably got an ear full from the entitled mother.

Stacey, although you cannot see it helped you end a relationship that revolved around social media as you said your relationship with your ex-girlfriend was about how social media hungry they were and they didn't even defend. Had this continued she would have asked you to apologies because it's best for everyone while really it's best for how she wants the media to see her, if someone more famous than you came along and asked her out you would be on the sidewalk, cause clearly it's her, her ego and social media.

I know that feeling with the person in story 4. I got diagnosed with a huge brain tumor in 2013. Doctors were able to remove it, but I still had a very long recover. I had to move in with my mother and step father. My two siblings, which I basically raised after their father died, had moved out the year before. But after 5 weeks my step father basically demanded that I helped him with his roofing business, which I did. A week after that I had a neurologist appointment and the doctor just about blew a proverbial gasket when I hold him what I was doing. I apparently should have been doing any significant work for at least 12 weeks. Let along roofing.
Things kind of degraded from there sadly and said step father kept getting more and more belligerent until I just had to abandon all my belongs and move across the country to life with an old girl friend and her husband who was sympathetic to my problems.
In story 1, before you judge the nanny, remember that she is likely a slave, and corporal punishment is still a thing in Dubai.
Many "unprivileged workers" die of "natural causes" every year.

The dad in the fourth story sounds like an absolute chauvinist who doesn't give a shit about OP's health issues at all. The time is coming for OP to beat it to college and cut ties with him, because he will become a serious liability in the long run.

Story four reminds me of my own home situation with my father. He was abusive and a narcissist, and denied everything. I only got away from him last summer (2021) and have since started *trying* to work on my health. I've been depressed since before third grade due to the issues in my home, and now at sixteen am being stalked and harassed by classmates. My mom is keeping me home because I got a message the other day from a friend warning me about several boys hunting me down.
While this is a rather different situation, the father's abuse and unrealistic expectations remind me much of my own father. He expected me to do things that couldn't be done realistically, or would get mad at me for things that weren't my fault or that I had no control over.
An example being when I was about six or seven. I'm autistic, and have always had appetite issues. Especially when on a medication called byphenton. It was prescribed for non-existant behavioural issues because I had yet to be diagnosed as autistic. My dad loved to lecture/ream me for two hours and more because I wouldn't eat my whole dinner. His favourite reference was the kids in africa who had no food and had nothing to do with me.
Story 1: In certain states, you can get away with pulverizing trespassers with a shot gun, especially if they have already been warned.😂

Story 4: Yea no sorry sounds like dad himself is either lazy and doesn't want to do the chores himself or thinks for some reason that OP is making up their illness. And where the heck is mom in all of this? I can't honestly believe she's ok with her husband chewing out her oldest like this unless she too has some reason that she thinks OP should be doing more chores around the house.

1st Story: Seeing as this took place in Dubai, I wouldn't put too much blame on the nanny. Rich countries in the Middle East are well known for hiring servants and other menial workers from out of the country and then confiscating their passports and holding them against their will and treating them like slaves. That nanny was probably most likely being abused by her "owners" (host family) and was too afraid to discipline the children.
Neglect, verbal, financial, sexual, and even physical abuse up to the point of causing death is not uncommon and is constantly swept under the rug. It's a big controversy that's being discussed about Qatar right now since they're hosting the World Cup and a lot of these things are coming to light.
Even if you manage to run away, you'll still be unable to leave the country as your host family will be in possession of your documents and the authorities will just end up arresting you and either turning you back over to them or throwing you in jail for "violating" your terms of the contract with your employer.
first of all, why. why destroy another one's property when you can be destroying your own. the other person's property is probably perfectly fine.

My god, are all parents the same? like mine are like this too. I'm not sick physical, i do have some mental issues. But I have the WHOLE household on my shoulders. like i get lists which basicly end up in cleaning the whole house. I get the line: "You live in my house", "I made you to do these things" or "You are home so you can do something" (and yes I am home a lot, but that because of my mental issues). I never get a break. so I feel for OP. I might not be in the same situation but it sucks, really sucks to be forced to do thing while you can't do them. Like I asked to be born, or for OP to get sick.

Last story: Your "friend" is really more like a close acquaintance. They're a hater and the reason why they're constantly trying to shit on your happiness is because it makes them feel insecure about their own accomplishments or they feel like they're superior to you and want to keep that imaginary power dynamic going. Drop them and find some better friends that are actually going to be happy for you. Otherwise they're going to drag you down worse than any outside enemy ever could.

It ocurred to me that even though "Stacy" was like an online distance friend, what if that was just a side account of the girlfriend who was insecure and threatened by OP's art and was trying to distroy him? story one; i don't think the nanny is at fault, if she tried to stop them, they'd go running to their house and tell their mom and then she'd have trouble on her hands, standing there and doing nothing was pretty bad as it is, but she could have served as a witness if you decided that this did have to go to the landlord

There is no way to know how he'd react to an in-person breakup if he already gets aggressive. He may become violent, putting OP's life in danger. As someone who pubblish their art, art comunity is extremely toxic. An artist I follow was accused of being a ped0 with no proofs just becuase someone traced his art. He didn't even complain but someone else who wanted to gatekeep hair accesories. So this poor guy was caught between an art tracer and someone who thought owned every detail (like... everything has been used before, chill). It makes me so sad because he's a super talented artist and with a very particular style, so it's super obvious when someone is tracing

Honestly since this took place in one of those rich Middle Eastern countries: the OP, her brother, and their family probably would've gotten in trouble if they were immigrants since they pushed those bratty little shits out of their backyard where they were trespassing and vandalising the property. If you're not from there and wealthy, you basically have zero rights over there if you get into a dispute with a native/ethnic citizen with money whether if you work for them or not.

My mom let my attacker walk free, a couple months ago, my cousin was in town and asked my mom to stay for a couple days, one night were in my room, smoking and playing games, my step dad denny comes in and asks i I want to see some karate moves, or something like that, he tells me to stand up, and he starts doing some weird stuff, I block them completely, he never got a hold of me, and I can see, every block I did got him angrier, he suddenly pushed me onto my bed and falls, he is drunk, I start to brace for him falling on me, my knee hits his croch, I get up and try help him stabilize, he pushes me back down and tries to get to my neck, I block all but one I didn't see, he holds my neck hard,mind you, my cousin is still in the room watching, it happens so fast, I don't know what happened but I remember being so mad pushing and punching and thats it, I only remember punching something, then once I calm down I see denny balled up, then finally my cousin steps in while I'm still punching denny, and I scream in his ear, idk what, I was just so angry, me and my cousin go walking, I tell my sister my step dad choked me, but the text was delayed because I just left a place with wifi, I used messenger because my phone wasn't payed for yet, me and my cousin go smoke with his friend and I go home, my sister gets the text and the cops get called, denny goes to jail, FOR TEN DAYS, HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE FOR TEN YEARS, the day he gets out my mom asked me to use MY MONEY I asked her why she said nothing and said she will put money back in, I think she used my 2500, on denny getting out, she was wasted sleeping in her room, that is next to mine, I told her the next day, after the cops came to pick him up, that knight she was trying to defend HIM, telling the cops to leave him alone, and I tell her he tried to choke me, she yelled back "he would never" telling the cops he's only verbally abusive, I tell her to ask my cousin, the cops take me to the hospital and they check my throat for damage, there was miner damage but it hurt like hell, denny always curses around my younger siblings, never carring, and my mom, I think, bails DENNY out of jail, for 2500, and I had a bit over 3000 for college, the judge said he can't be near the house or near me, HE IS STILL LIVING HERE, MY MOM SAID HE WAS ONLY GETTING HIS STOUGH, and they dink together from time to time, idk what to do, I feel like my mom does not care about me and my younger siblings, I now sharing where you live is bad on the internet but, this man, a 39 year old man, strangles a 18 year old, with a lot of head injuries, traumas, and other things that made my life worse, his last name is Martin, nome ak, alaska(if you don't know), what do I do, I don't want my mom to be mad at me, but I'm mad at her for letting him out with my money, stay in this house when he isn't supposed to be here, but I grew up without a dad, and I don't want my siblings growing up with out there dad, but he is a bad man, an asshole, an alcoholic, cheeter(my mom found out he cheated on her way before then, like 5 years before), idk why my mom still wants him, he always has to know whats going on, and asks everyone what there doing, even when you need to use the bathroom, he is never home once in a while, can some one tell me what to do?, please help, denny is still on probation, even when he choked me

I have to disagree with the narrator for story too. Wow yes she didn’t defend you, it also said that she was the middleman. She didn’t agree with anything that they said. And I don’t think it had to do with her position in social media, I think it just had to do with the fact that she doesn’t like confrontation. The chores one... *Preface: This is assuming the other people in the house are contributing to housework by at least picking up after themselves.* So you're out of school until the fall. You only work 8 hours A WEEK. And you go to the gym... What? Let's say 2 hours a day. So on a average your working/working out 3 hours a day... What do you do with the other 12-15 hours? Just general picking up should only take a couple hours at most. And if it's just general cleaning that's not much. I would say both you and dad are being the jerk. He for expecting it all the time and you for not contributing anymore.
