Sarah is played by Nico Parker, daughter of famous actress Thandiwe Newton (who she looks so much like!)
She truly did an amazing job 👏🏼
I saw one person who thought that Thandiwe would play Sarah after a time-jump. So they were really shocked when she died.

It's funny, I never played the games, I wasn't spoiled on what would happen to Sarah.
But it didn't take me long to figure out that SOMETHING would happen to her.
Didn't prepare me.
Though from comments from people who have played the game, even knowing exactly what would happen didn't help most people deal...

When I first watched this, I had to pause the TV for 15 mins to collect myself. Never had to do that before.
I started tearing up before it happened lol
It really is one of the more sad and well acted scenes on tv. 💔
You guys picked up on everything really quickly! I enjoyed watching. Tess has some of my favorite moments in this episode -- like the scene where she's talking to Robert and you can tell that he's terrified and she's in control even though she's the one who was captured, and the moment you realize that he's actually terrified of Joel and what Joel will do once he finds out what happened. You really get the sense that Joel was a monster in the years after Sarah died, but he's a little past his prime now and the only thing he's got left is Tommy and now Tess. It's a perfect setup for the story.

Tess really is awesome in this episode and that scene was so cool.
I liked it that he is terrified of him, and this really feels like a good set up for us to understand everything that was im the last 20 years and what will come next 🤭✨️

A majority of the 1st episode reactors were much more preoccupied by the safety of the dog than the people, abandon your neighbor and people who you were close just the day before. I supposed we are not destined to work together to survived the apocalypse. That means we are not gonna survived at all or maybe is just an American thing "They look sick and can't afford healthcare Drive through them dammit".
anna torv(tess) is definitely a top class actress.seeing her in this series was a nice surprise.she played the lead role in the fringe series.and she was great!
This show is actually based on the video game (which I think is probably one of the greatest video games of all time) would you all consider doing a play through or watching a play through when you're done with the show? The show did pretty well at adapting it (especially since video games are not usually well adapted into tv or movies!) but of course I think the video game is still the better done of the two lol.
Joel (Pedro pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) do some of the best acting you will ever see. and the set Design and special effects rival a AAA Blockbuster movie... The Entire series is 1 giant rollercoaster ride of emotions and social subjects. and yes there is going to be a season 2 :)
espescially Bella did an incredible job.
Great reaction. You guys had a lot of good insights and caught all the details. They won’t explain everything immediately, but there are very few throw away lines or scenes in this show. Pretty much everything pays off eventually.
I’d also just add that while the show does a few jump scares, it’s really not about the infected. It’s really about the relationships between people.
And, yes, as someone who’s 55, I can relate that your body is definitely on the decline. But also certainly not decrepit just yet. 😂

Haha, 56 is a good age most of the time 😆 unless you have a condition. My dad is a couple years from pension (retirement) right now, and he's 61 (his body is broken from the actual job tho). The strongest people i know are in their 50s or even older. One of them is 70. Crazy workouts back in the day with farm work 😅

@@thosesiblingss I always struggle to find the positive side of a apocalypse, but as a big fan of mushrooms, this apocalypse does have it's up side. Just make sure you cook them really well.

You will love this show. To me, it started slow but boy does it pick up. Another show you guys might like, which is a bit lighter, is Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. With Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short. Despite its name, it really is a comedy about podcast fans who start their own murder podcast. On it’s third season and is nominated for many awards again.
A BIT lighter? Lol.

I saw at least one other comment but you should tweet your volume. Your commentary is at one level while the show is much lower. So to hear the show the volume has to be way up but then when the two of you talk it’s super loud. If you want to keep the volume of the show low then maybe add subtitles? Or just adjust the volume so the show and yourselves are the same.

I very much enjoyed watching this with you! It’s a great show and only gets better. Neil Druckman, who created both the game and TV show is also Israeli and Jewish. I subscribed and hope you finish the series. Hopefully all the anti-Semitic and pro-terrorism stuff doesn’t get you down; it’s a difficult time, even in the United States.

while the show is alright in my opinion the game is a lot more subtle in its dialogue and everything so I still prefer it
I always laugh when reactors say "Look! The old woman isn't in her wheelchair!" as if that means something. Do you really think that wheelchair users spend the night in their wheelchairs? 😂 They would be in bed like anyone else! Don't worry though, I would say that a good 9 out of 10 reactors say the same thing, so you are not alone!

The reason why your subscribers wanted you to watch more horror movies is because they think it is fun to see other people scared. Especially when they hide their faces and scream.

Couldn't watch more than the first two episodes. Couldn't stand the actress. The writing was very uneven. Plus, you could tell the politics. After all, it's Netflix.
