I have just realized about something tho. For all those who don't know yet, Simon were a romanceable path in the original script but then David Cage shit on his pants and take him off, he said so in Reddit, making absurd excuses about it. The exact moment when North's romance path and Simon's romance path are divided is when Markus talks to North in the roof of Jericho, when you can pick either be nice to her and to take her hand or to reject her. If you take her hand you unlock the "lover" path, but if you don't she remains as a friend and later you meet up with Simon (if you don't kill him in the rooftop) and they hug. that it could have been the moment when the "lover" path with Simon is unlocked 'cause all the other scenes after that, (comparing North's dialogue and Simon's) are the exact same thing. Why do i stand Simon x Markus more than North x Markus? Oh, boy. there are a lot of reasons. (and not because it's gay, like everyone says). 1. The North x Markus thing was so damn forced. that "lover" path came from nowhere, before that happening they didn't have the first "cute" scene together, all they did before that was fight, cause Markus were a pacifist and she wanted a revolution. 2. The "our hearts are compatible" scene with Simon and North towards Markus. if you get this scene with North, it gives you the option to not take North's heart. but with Simon, there isn't such an option. he gives Markus his OWN DAMN HEART no matter what. 3. In the freedom march, when things got ugly and Markus almost got killed, he sacrifices himself only to protect him, while North only stares the whole situation without doing anything. And i have a bunch of other reasons but i'm tired of writting and you to read, bet. so i'm out.
I knew about the romance possibility, but I didn't know when it or how it would've happened. But yeah, the 2 do share a lot of dialogue, depending on who's alive or relationship status. Simon is also important in terms of story which can drastically alter the game depending on relationships status. Simon will only save Markus at the march if you're friends with him. Same goes for the heart scene too, when you see the 'friend' unlock (weird how it doesn't do it at the march, now that I think about it). Josh does nothing in terms of story. No hate on him, because he doesn't change anything, so, whether you're on good or bad terms with him, it literally has zero effect, and no matter what you've done beforehand, he'll still be pissed by Markus' choices, so it seems like Josh is always in this fixed path that can't be changed. The way I see it, Markus and North could've worked if you'd gone down the violent path. I know 'opposites attract' yada yada, but as you say, they just fought ALL the time! Going by the local of how you play tho, Josh would be the romanceable one in pacifist, as Simon remains in the middle, often not altering his relationships status on what Markus does. He's also a runner/hider.
A route with Simon was almost possible, but the creators cut the route to save time. It’s so obvious that Simon is in love with Markus. He only ever supports Markus and constantly dies for him. All the little looks, the little sayings (Just come back). I’m still mad that you can’t romance Simon. Honestly, Simon deserves a lot more than he got.
Lol they should’ve included “the best Living Target” on the models of Simon’s wrapping box. (By the way the deviant Daniel at the start of Connor’s line is the same model as Simon, who’s been shot by snipers in my play through😂)

Why was there not an option to romance Simon? Like if you could romance both of them cause some people might prefer north but personally I didn’t like her or agree with what she did yet Markus still gets the lover option for her. I personally felt a stronger connection to Simon than north
It's part of the reason many of us couldn't connect with her. We as people, in general, want to be good. In gaming, this is no different, and actually we are probably better at being good in games than in real life. We know it's fiction, so we do the right thing. In life, if cops shot down your loved ones, you'd probably want revenge. I'm going off-topic slightly here, but my point is that while I understand North's dislike for humans, she's way too violent. If she changed her tune earlier in the game, it would have made a nice turning curve for her and growth as a character. She could learn to like people, rather than seeing them as one. While some humans saw androids in the same way, you can sort of understand the fear and uncertainty they hold, in that androids are robots, how could they ever feel or think anything? With humans, there's nothing to prove. The game doesn't do North justice, and that's saying something. She could have been more, and I find the romance with her quite insulting not only to Markus, but to Simon. I don't see the connection, assuming Markus is mostly pacifist. As a romance option in the violent route, sure, that makes sense, but the fact that almost all of us were caught off guard by the 'Lover' is really unfair. I could feel it coming, but I was expecting an actual choice, and yes or no. The only way to get out of the romance if you share memories with her is to let the 'connect' QTE run out, but it's not clear that it even runs out, so we connect. Simon's treated like garbage too, because of the unfinished love interest option being cut. He doesn't try to shape Markus, hardly ever disagrees with him, wants to protect his people (preferably without violent, or any sort of conflict), and the fact that he's so willing to let Markus take over as leader. The boy looks like a tired, depressed mess who just wants to love someone, but hey, here's North instead! Sorry if this comment is a bit long. XD

I don’t think North is a bad character, it makes sense why she would hate humans but as someone who chose the pacifist route, why would I be interested in a romance with north? And I felt so much more potential with Simon, no matter what he stands by your side, even if Markus dies and sacrifices himself multiple times for Markus whereas north just gets pissed at you if you disagree with her, mess up and will leave you behind during the march. I wish by choosing pacifist or revolution, it would give you the option for Simon for pacifist and north for revolution because at least your love interest would be affected by your choices and make sense in the plot.
Actually, I don't think many people know this, but since I'm aiming to complete this game 100%, I have discovered that North does save you/risk her life in a few situations too. They just aren't obvious because you have to royally screw up. In the missions Spare Parts, Stratford Tower, and during the Demonstration, if you fail to move/do the QTEs, she can save you. One of these only comes into play too if you're lovers. Still, this only proves that what she's doing is the same as Simon. Simon won't save you during the march or revolution if you aren't friends with him, same as North won't save you during that one mission if you aren't lovers. They just labelled Simon with 'friend' or 'companion' rather than something more, even though it's clearly meant to mean the same thing. Josh will never save you. If we're talking ideals too, it makes sense for Josh to be the pacifist romance option, but I don't ship him with Markus, I don't think they fit either. Simon is the one. :D

It took some goes but I saw a gifset on Tumblr and someone informed someone else that you have to fail early, like way Simon is hurt, and don't get Markus injured, as that triggers the heart scene. You just have to keep ordering your troops until the percentage goes to zero. :)
That shouldn't happen... Not sure what to suggest? I'm guessing make sure Simon is on good terms with you, and make sure North and Josh is dead for it to trigger?

First of all thank you so much for these!! And I gotta ask; how did you get the last scene? Because I feel like I already tried everything and never got it :(
It took some goes but I saw a gifset on Tumblr and someone informed someone else that you have to fail early, like way Simon is hurt, and don't get Markus injured, as that triggers the heart scene. You just have to keep ordering your troops until the percentage goes to zero. :)
Bandi well, that's kinda what I already did but I always had this exact same scene with a random android but not with simon. But thank you anyway :)
That shouldn't happen... Not sure what to suggest? I'm guessing make sure Simon is on good terms with you, and make sure North and Josh is dead for it to trigger?
Bandi north died on jericho, josh died on several occasions (I tried different things) and simon was my companion. I seriously have no idea what I did wrong

Sometimes I get why some people hate the North.. But she was so manipulated she would definitely hate people, but maybe if the North didn't care about killing or war and Simon cared about killing , They should have made a lot more scenes for them. Maybe it would be better to open up his relationship with North
