It's a very common question of 'why does the scapegoat always succeed while golden child fails' And sure this story might be creative writing but it is still common in real life for a single reason. The golden child's never challenged, never pushed to succeed. Sure parents have high expectations for them sometimes, but there's a tiny disconnect where they forget it has to be earned through work, and they already believe the golden child is perfect, and act like they've already succceeded and their mere glorious presence is the second coming of christ Meanwhile the scapegoat's not gonna have anything to fall back on. You think the parents would let them live at home in adulthood if they fail? Hell no. They push themselves to succeed because it's their only chance of a life
The Reddit author of this should add a section about exposing the incompetence of the principal and teachers at a high school reunion too. I think that'd tie it together better.

@@_lei_c_8138this one is easy to tell, OP got in trouble for having Snapchat and when her brother texted her admitting to his lying, he said this happened 15 years ago which is way before Snapchat existed
@_lei_c_8138 AI always goes for the text message confessions. Which nobody ever does.
The story is definitely fake, but your really don't think a human being could invent this nonsense?@@VesselLynx
OP should've sued for defamation and also sent that to all the people who believed him without queation outside of family, plus made it public so he couldn't ruin her reputation further (as he's likely to try)
Favoritism is poison.
I am only child but adopted. Mine much crazier than this, treated as slave until one day some my 'enslavers' start supporting me after the favorite kid start stealing money from them.
You were an only child, but there was another "favorite child"?
This girl needs love.
He is a girl
I wouldn't have left the email at just family but the friends that switched sides to support the brother as well as his partner and work. I would have been as vindictive as possible to do as much damage as possible
Exactly. And then if they want forgiveness, tell them "I'll forgive you. But only after I piss on your tombstone."
The best part of this isn't getting the proof she needed to expose them, but the fact that her grandma lived long enough to see everything happen imo
Let's be real here for a second.
If you were to take away anything from this story, it's simply this:
Even if every single reddit story here on UA-cam was fake, the toxic people that are portrayed in them are very fucking real. Even if the parents and the brother are fictional, there are horrible people in real life that act just like them. And yes, a fair chunk of them ARE that cartoonishly ridiculous. Real world people who are that much of toxic narcissists are just as stupid, shortsighted, and selfish as OP's family is in this story, if not worse.
So don't be so quick to write all of this off, because horrible crap like this could actually happen to you or anyone you care about.
Be smart.
Be aware.
Be vigilant.
And don't let this happen for real to you or anyone you love.
Don't give toxic people an inch.
Because they WILL take a mile.
That’s the reason I don’t pass all Reddit stories as fake.
I don't disagree but most people like making up stories for attention
you can’t prevent your family from abandoning you over lies someone else told… these stories aren’t necessarily up for people to learn from. it’s mostly about the drama, whether they’re true or not they’re just captivating. if there’s a legitimate piece of advice or a moral to the story then cool but i’m gonna be honest when reading these stories no one is like i have to prevent this and learn from this so it doesn’t happen to me or anyone else
the way a story is written should tell you more if it’s a creative writing exercise or someone just telling a life story, the actual contents of a story don’t always seem fictional even if they are. i’m sure some of the very convincing reddit posts you’ve read have been fake
The take away is always that you don't owe anything to anyone who has abused you. Amd never let them back in your life.
The last lines give the same effect as:
Savdhaan rahiye, satark rahiye
Her brother is a genuine sociopath

Always love how every unwanted child kicked out as a teen goes on to be mega rich successful..
I just spent years living on the streets and was further abused by other people because of the powerlessness of being a homeless 14yo and the fact i didn't know anything else..
But cool.. maybe if i had a better writer i could have been rich now

@shawnycoffman no point. My life doesn't come with a super satisfying ending that you can all get your dopamine hit off. The real world rarely does.
Made up stories like this one do more harm than good. Your comment is one of the ways that it does.

Ikr
At least the OP did something after getting the confession.
It's a very common question of 'why does the scapegoat always succeed while golden child fails'
And sure this story might be creative writing but it is still common in real life for a single reason. The golden child's never challenged, never pushed to succeed. Sure parents have high expectations for them sometimes, but there's a tiny disconnect where they forget it has to be earned through work, and they already believe the golden child is perfect, and act like they've already succceeded and their mere glorious presence is the second coming of christ
Meanwhile the scapegoat's not gonna have anything to fall back on. You think the parents would let them live at home in adulthood if they fail? Hell no. They push themselves to succeed because it's their only chance of a life
It's not always the case, the scape goat sometimes doesn't rise up from the abuse so you never hear their story.
@@brian-_-that’s why in Reddit, the scapegoat wins
The problem with these stories isn’t that it’s fake, it’s that they are trying to pass it off as real.
I'll be honest this makes me feel down yet up at the same time.

The Reddit author of this should add a section about exposing the incompetence of the principal and teachers at a high school reunion too. I think that'd tie it together better.
Principal: Your favoritism towards your daughter has led to physical abuse towards your son
Parents: Goddamnit,we are so sorry son, well make sure it doesn't happen again........we don't love your sister though 🤔
When your twin your literal second half betrays you... Thats just disgusting. Also almost sounds like the evil twin thing.
all stories are the same “unfair childhood” and “how the turns have table” theme
the tables could have turned a bit more in this one. Kind of disappointing.
It's a common struggle.
I mean, we love the hero's journey stories. Why not just it back and watch it or stop watching it. Cause it's clear people actually like hearing these stories.

How can the principal suspend you if it happened at home he has no right .

When your bro sent you that nasty message and your parents called you could just said : “why dont my bro helped/why dont you help bro?”
Op had more grace than me, I would’ve been a lot worse, I would’ve screenshot everything and post it on my social medias and tagged my dna donators and watch the it unfold then, I would’ve gone scorched earth…
I would’ve written a book about them, altering certain things, and say ‘Thank you, DNA donators for always ignoring me, and believing my golden boy brother.’

The twin. Make sure you have a will, and make sure your parents and brother get nothing. Let them know, for your own safety.
YOU GET NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!
What is the likelihood of her passing before her parents? I'm convinced that a lot of commentators lick windows when not on here because the lack of logic is embarrassing.
He said "For ur own safety which means hes talking about them sending uh tiny pieces of metal with gunpowder in them hurruling towards her
TLDL;
parents show favoritism towards brother, emotionally abused the daughter. Brother creates a rumor that the sister was abusing him physically and she was a spoiled brat. She moves in with her grandmother they become close. She goes on to be successful. She gets back in contact with parents parents are the same She exposes the lies her brother did against her, sends a cease and desist letter to them rest a family apologizes all is well with the world
AITA for want her family to do something stupid so the story can continue?

im very very glad she exposed them these parents never loved their daughter if i was the grandmother i would have called cps on them they diserve nothing and might be going to hell for abuse. I do wish they went to jail
The biggest fake flag to me was when literally nearly every adult in OP's life took her brother's bullshit at face value.
Also, all her classmates, including her friends

Fake or not things like this have happened, no matter how much you want to believe otherwise.
I believe you should have taken this to the FBI or CPS and even the Supreme Court for a lawsuit against your parents and your brother for this detrimental tournament they put you through and should phase legal charges for criminal activity against them because this is breaking at least 12 laws that I can count
The father shouted that you should help your family in need but where were they when YOU needed help from them when the brother lied to everyone ?
(Yes I know it's a fake story like most of them but can't you let people get into these stuffs ? It's pretty exhilarating) 😅
Taking the door off the hinges hits deep making me think of my childhood definitely happened like 5 times
i would have simply dropped the whole family thing in a tv interview, exposed the brother, branded the parents and stirred up the nation against the family. if even your neighbour finds out through tv what a bad person the brother is, how long would he have continued to make stupid remarks?
This brought me to tear. . .
If this is true, wouldn't you think this would have made the parents look bad at the school? Because through the rumors, the brother admitted that the sister was mistreated, you'd think it'd raise some concern on how the parents treat them.
It was made by AI your smart for not believing stuff super easy

@@ThE4EvRPs3GaMeR yes and that is why we have a category in the library called fiction. It doesn't take an AI to write lies and even the most fictional works can be believable. It sucks that these stories can be so believable but the truth is most people who go through such don't come out on top and we will never know because chances are the people end up fending for themselves with no chance to even browse reddit or forums let alone write their life story in them.
