I think the original voice is better and fits Zack more. I don't think the new voice is terrible, but it is not as fitting as the first. It kind of makes me feel the same way I felt when they changed Peter Parker's face for Spider-Man PS5.
Agreed about both. I do miss the original voice actor for Zack and don't think the new voice actor will ever be as good. Still looking forward to the remake though, It's still one of my favorite Final Fantasy games.
Not convinced yet. Will have to hear him deliver the Gongaga line
I notice that some lines are a little rewritten. If they change "Me? Gongaga" in any way, such blasphemy will never be forgiven (and will also likely become a new meme in the process).
I’m sorry man but the original actor was so charismatic and not forced at all. He brought that cockiness to Zack that I think only Rick Gomez can capture. I don’t know, difference between the cast of the FF7R is that all at least felt so similar to the original VA’s that this guy is super distracting, Zacks personality is so flamboyant and I don’t think this guy is gonna cut it. That doesn’t mean I won’t play one of my favorite games of all time!
No worries, it's not like I'm his biggest advocate or anything. I just think he's worth giving a chance, especially since it sounds like he's improved between Remake and Reunion.
Still, I think his issue is the opposite. I think he's too good at making Zack sound cocky, which results in him sounding much more pridefully arrogant than Gomez did. Because of that, I'm very interested to hear both his takes on the excitable "Zack the puppy" moments and on his slower more emotional scenes.
I may never like him as much as Rick Gomez, but as long as he nails the ending, I'll be satisfied with that.
Sephiroth's voice is also bad
@@Killer_Kris7 No he isn't. I may not be Zack's biggest advocate but I'm proud to say that I loved Sephiroth's new performance.

I think the new guys sounds more fake. Rick Gomez was more...emotionally believable for me but maybe this dude will end up being ok.
If Caleb Pierce can capture Zack 'The Puppy' evolving into Zack 'The Hero', then everything will be okay. It's only a trailer after all.
Rick Gomez will always be the best as Zack's VA.
New guy sounds to kid-like to me. But because Zack is my favorite I will pre-order this game lol.

100% agree, it's atrocious.
I definitely prefer Rick Gomez as Zack but I really want to give the new VA a chance. He's not terrible but he would do better voicing Sonic the hedge hog than Zack Fair. It's not like I have a choice in the matter anyway lol. As of right now his delivery falls flat but..🤞he gets better.
I don’t really get what’s going on with this whole parallel universe theory but maybe that’s why Remake Zack is so much more confident and cocky than CC Reunion Zack. Maybe he’s not as tired and thinks he has a good chance at getting out alive.

I miss the art style more than anything. I don't believe every game needs to be hyper polished.
With how voice actors have been quiting gigs and starting unions as they are not getting paid enough and what not, here is the deal. I think that Caleb Pierce is the perfect voice for Zack in Kingdom Hearts. Zack is much younger in Birth by Sleep than in the finale of Crisis Core as a such would be a good stand in for Rick Gomez in spin off material as that is much more better practice for him. Not all voice actors get this ASMR vocality the first few roles they get for characters they are not familiar with yet.
TBH I had to see this video to notice the change in VA, since I havent watched his old voice for awhile, indeed the older one was better, but I m still satisfied with what we got, if they had to recast, could have been worst.
I came at this game as someone who did not play the original. I didn't like Zack's voice at first but it grew on me in a big way. Hearing the original, I don't like it as much. I think we just get used to what we know
New voice actor for Zack sounds like he reading from a paper and not really performing. Rick was better… who fricken decided to change it 🤦🏻♂️
I like both voices to be honest. They sound very similar.

Tbh I'm not a big fan of either voices.
I prefer the new va work in reunion 1000 x more than the original one, it it just sounds more charismatic I dont know I love it

@@Xackadee Newbern was better than Hoechlin who made Sephiroth sound mature and like an adult as well as a hardened war veteran. How about you make a comparison of them both. Unless you're scared everyone will prefer Newbern over pretty boy copycat
