5:04 I saw this scene in the Japanese uncovered trailer and I was curious about how this lines would fit in the English dub. Fortunately, the voice actor delivered it so damn well... That's impressive!
Fun Fact! I seen the English Dubs behind the scenes way back for Final Fantasy 13 & the Actors don't have to fit the Lips of Japanese Dubs like all of 99% of Anime! You know Why? Because ever since Final Fantasy 13 from those games onwards when English Actors lay out their Lines in the games they then reanimate the lips to fit the English Actors to keep it as real as possible for the US Version! :)

so apparently, matt mercer has played cor, yusuke kitagawa from persona 5, mccree from overwatch, levi from attack on titan, and kuroh yatogami from k.,,, this dude's in everything
He played Yusuke? That ups my appreciation for him even more, not to mention he was Levi as well. That's a damn good list of characters to have been the voice of.
Fun fact, saw Matt at a con this spring and found out that his wife is from the town I live in. I see her mother often and she's a sweet lady and enjoys seeing her son in laws fans in a small town like the one we live in. :)
Jakeem he's the most fun. but Gladiolous is the star. he embodies the core of stoicism which is a necessity for a mature and strong backbone of a human. he time and time again puts Noctis and Prompto in their place, makes them focus, and brings them back to reality.
I will play this game 100% in english (i am german). The voice actors are really good and they are playing their roles so emotional just like that they are really in the game and being the characters in real life. I am pretty excited for this awesome final fantasy and I hope that the story will be great too. So now only 3 months anymore (1 month for the movie kingsglaive released in europa) so we can finally play ff15 and start the story with noctis and his friends ^^ may the crystal be with you all
Well, the VAs have done amazing job bringing this game to life. About the Dub vs Sub thing: For me, the rule of thumb of whether dubs or subs are better is to look at the context which the series is laid upon. For example, Resident Evil and Metal Gear series. Since most of the settings are Western, it is more fitting (for me at least) to hear them speaking English rather than Japanese. As one article has it: "It doesn't help either side that the acting styles for Japanese and English voice acting come from completely different sources. Japanese voice acting traces its roots directly to Kabuki, where dialogue and delivery are extremely stylized to the point that non-connoisseurs would consider it overacting. English voice-acting on the other hand traces its roots to Radio, where performance (though it could be overacted) was never uniformly stylized and delivery tended toward the more natural." In FF XV's context, the game's various outskirts locale setting (which, the way I see it, resembles European and American locales rather than Japanese) would sound better for the dub (which the crew featured here have done great job). I'm not downgrading the original Japanese voice since it's how originally voiced (and better suited for Japanese audience). Again, the whole language lollapalooza depends more on where the product will be marketed to make it more reachable rather than obeying the purists. It's like how they brought 24 into Japan and had RIkiya Koyama dubbed Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer.
Joseph 00 Truth is that Dubbing Anime doesn't pay well and those that aren't unionized don't get the well known, Triple A Voice Actors. But the stigma about dubs and most complaints aren't relevant anymore. There are a large amount of good Anime Dub Actors, Ian Sinclair, Crispin Freeman, Steve Blum, Colleen Clinkenbeard(I think that's how it's spelled), Johnny Yong Bosch, and Vic Mignogna just to name a few.
I'm surprised you don't have any of the butt hurt 'subs only' fans calling you slurs for this 😂 then again thankfully there aren't many in this entire comment section
I always loved English dub for Final Fantasy series more than Japanese, bcs Japanese are dubbing it in anime style which is not suitable for Final Fantasy, at least in my opinion ... and comments like "they don!t put enough emotions into it" are just made to have at least some argument even though it's not worth argument... for me I have goosebumps from FF XV, XIII and VII English dubbing, bcs they always hit the characters perfectly... (yeah, they usually are talking about Lightning and her robotic voice, but that's part of her character in the story ;) )
@@attyart4785 bruh they called that scene of Noctis breaking down in the dub bad because 'it had no emotions' like ???? Do they even know what that sounds like? They think the overexaggeration the Japanese VA's do is what qualifies as 'full of emotions',the foolery is something else 🗿
TraumaCenter13 there my friend you are wrong. No game is perfect I agree. Nothing is and nothing will be. But compared to many games this game is as close as perfect as you can get. This game is rated high on a pedestal and I would never take it down. I absolutely love the graphics and the story is amazing. The combat isn't too difficult but when it should be, it surely is. This game is perfect without a doubt and I think that it can't get any better
Wow, I haven't really been paying attention lately to FFXV (I don't know what I was thinking, I know), but _damn_ the voice actors sound INCREDIBLE. I never really hated Noctis' original voice, I was kind of on the fence about it...... but now he sounds A+++. The last emotional scene with him; wow, I got _chills._ Seriously bravo to everyone involved; Matthew Mercer and Robbie Daymond are literally the only people in this cast I know, but that's not a bad thing by any means. It's amazing and refreshing to get new people, who are _good_ at that. I know a lot of people in the past rolled their eyes at the whole "bros being bros on a road trip" thing, but honestly I'm a huge sucker for this trope, no shame whatsoever, and I think I will absolutely love the story Final Fantasy XV has to tell from the way the voice actors talk about it (and how well they sound in their roles). :')
4:30 MATT OH MY FUCKING GOD HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!!!! DAAAAMN I LOVE THIS HUY SOOOO MUCH HE'S LITERALLY IN EVERY GAME THAT I LOVE AS IF HE'S STALKIN ME OR SOMETHING OMG!!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!! FUCK YESSSSS!!!
I actually prefer the English voices lol. Especially for noctis, his Japanese voice is too boring and bland. I mean He already looks kinda Emo ahaha. His English voice gives him personality.
I love how each of the main characters in this game has a deep and emotional background behind their backs, that they have overcomed and adapted through. They are really more than just 'side characters' and more of main individuals. the writing is perfect, and I never regretted purchasing this game.
Now that's how to give a character soul everyone. I mean look at Darin De Paul, he's litteraly embodying Ardyn. Even though everyone did a good job on the cast though, but Darin is something special.
He should have been given the Kingsglaive role. Sean Bean did well, but there’s a genuine weight and sincerity to Pirri’s voice that would have fit more.
I remember meeting Ray Chase last year, at a convention... I had so much fun. It feels so weird that day is going to be a year old, because was one of my favorite days of 2019.
It’s almost 5 years later, but gahhh I love this game so much. It’s so nice to see that the voice actors enjoyed the experience so much 😭 Also, I can’t believe Matt Mercer voices Cor…I never would’ve guessed him!!
Troy Baker became majorly famous not for dubbing J-games, but for massively popular Western games. It's true that Final Fantasy XIII's dub "put him on the big map"...but also, the thing is: Square Enix doesnt reuse VA's in leads. They have the money to afford great actors *outside* small "dubbing circles". ...However I don doubt that it wouldnt be strange for Troy to get a small part in this game.
All voice actors were great, but Ignis knocked out of the park. One sentence spoken by the guy and you know exactly the type of person his character is
The reason why Darin de Paul did incredibly well is not just because he sounded and performed great in his role, but he also was passionate and enthusiastic on the character and story which is a perfect combo.
Ray Chase and Darin De Paul in particular are such amazing voice actors. Throughout the whole game I was just in awe at how well they sold their scenes.
The voice acting was really REALLY good for a final fantasy game. I loved how natural the dialogue and character interactions were. It really saved the game for me :)
It's cool to see voice actors being acknowledged and noted for their roles, not just well known screen actors.
yes!!

wow, that girl is beautifull in game and in real life :D
Luna is Luna in game , not Amy.
It is impossible to find in real life .
+Battou Han im pretty sure they mean luna is pretty along with her voice actress
goodgalbadgal Ik Ik.Its just that sentence...As if Luna was based of her voice actress.
Battou Han my apologize, i'm just tired putting ''sorry for bad English'' in every comment. =]
got goosebump just watching this video!!!! woooo!!! can't wait for the new adventure of Final Fantasy XV 😍
me too xD
me three
me 420 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Who didnt got goosebumps?
me....................................................... 1080p? XD
so apparently, matt mercer has played cor, yusuke kitagawa from persona 5, mccree from overwatch, levi from attack on titan, and kuroh yatogami from k.,,, this dude's in everything
claire myers the new troy baker...............
troy was kanji then it switch to Matt
claire myers Dude is one of my favorites, especially him being the Dungeon Master on Critical Role
He played Yusuke? That ups my appreciation for him even more, not to mention he was Levi as well. That's a damn good list of characters to have been the voice of.
He also voice act as Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil CGI movies and games.
Fun fact, saw Matt at a con this spring and found out that his wife is from the town I live in. I see her mother often and she's a sweet lady and enjoys seeing her son in laws fans in a small town like the one we live in. :)
Luna Freya's voice actor is literally Luna Freya herself wow
Whenever it hits noon, Cor should call the group and say "it's high noon"
Yes!!!
Prompto was easily the best character in the game
Jakeem he's the most fun. but Gladiolous is the star. he embodies the core of stoicism which is a necessity for a mature and strong backbone of a human. he time and time again puts Noctis and Prompto in their place, makes them focus, and brings them back to reality.
Jakeem oh hello.. OPENING
Jakeem Must protecc da boi
Jakeem Yep.
Prompto is my least favorite, while I have a soft spot for Gladiolus.
"noct stop reeling" XD
"the lines gonna snap!" LOL
View Lion "thats a big one"lol
King Dragon James "You've improved" ;-;
Geralt of Rivia "repool the line before its no late"
"talk about backseat fishing"
chris parson: "gladio is the papa bear".
i'm done.
Hearing Ignis's VA call FFXV's party "The Lads" is something I didn't know I needed in my life
Ray Chase also does a fantastic job at voicing the Master of Masters from kingdom hearts!!
MATT MERCER IS IN THE CAST OMG!
*dies from fangirling*
I'm here for Ardyn. His voice and lines are just perfect
I will play this game 100% in english (i am german). The voice actors are really good and they are playing their roles so emotional just like that they are really in the game and being the characters in real life. I am pretty excited for this awesome final fantasy and I hope that the story will be great too. So now only 3 months anymore (1 month for the movie kingsglaive released in europa) so we can finally play ff15 and start the story with noctis and his friends ^^
may the crystal be with you all
ah and I wanted to say that noctis voice is now much more better than in episode duscae ^^ not so dark
Will Kingsglaive come to European cinemas?
only in some cities but at the 30.9 it will be released as blu-ray
Ah, just wanted to know. Danke schön!
no problem^^
Well, the VAs have done amazing job bringing this game to life.
About the Dub vs Sub thing:
For me, the rule of thumb of whether dubs or subs are better is to look at the context which the series is laid upon.
For example, Resident Evil and Metal Gear series. Since most of the settings are Western, it is more fitting (for me at least) to hear them speaking English rather than Japanese. As one article has it:
"It doesn't help either side that the acting styles for Japanese and English voice acting come from completely different sources. Japanese voice acting traces its roots directly to Kabuki, where dialogue and delivery are extremely stylized to the point that non-connoisseurs would consider it overacting. English voice-acting on the other hand traces its roots to Radio, where performance (though it could be overacted) was never uniformly stylized and delivery tended toward the more natural."
In FF XV's context, the game's various outskirts locale setting (which, the way I see it, resembles European and American locales rather than Japanese) would sound better for the dub (which the crew featured here have done great job).
Ariel Saeba Well said.
Ariel Saeba also i like that this game hired professional voice actors unlike a lot of animes in english dub
"I hate the English dub. They don't put enough emotion into it"
5:07
Explain
Weebs *sigh* i'll tell ya -_-
I always loved English dub for Final Fantasy series more than Japanese, bcs Japanese are dubbing it in anime style which is not suitable for Final Fantasy, at least in my opinion ... and comments like "they don!t put enough emotions into it" are just made to have at least some argument even though it's not worth argument... for me I have goosebumps from FF XV, XIII and VII English dubbing, bcs they always hit the characters perfectly...
Imo English dubs games are better while anime English subbed is better
@@navimana I'd say English VAs were amazing because in noctis case he was upset and angry and he got the best mix of that
The best game ever,no regret buying this, this game is perfect.....
justin that gameplay is awesome, and noctis haircut is very cool if you are like anime
Sub Zero if you are like anime indeed friend.. if you are like anime indeed
Sub hm.......... HMM.................
Sub Zero This is far from perfect especially since the last second half of the game was poorly done from storytelling and pacing.
I can listen to Ardyn's and Ignis's voice all day ❤️
4:30 MATT OH MY FUCKING GOD HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!!!! DAAAAMN I LOVE THIS HUY SOOOO MUCH HE'S LITERALLY IN EVERY GAME THAT I LOVE AS IF HE'S STALKIN ME OR SOMETHING OMG!!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!! FUCK YESSSSS!!!
Feli what is another game
bOuRne he played Chrom in Fire Emblem Awakening for example. Just google him.
bOuRne and he also did mccree in overwatch
hes also mikisugi in kill la kill, ryoma in fire emblem fates, and...is kanji an persona 4/abt to be yusuke in persona 5.
He is Mitsuru Kuroiwa on Judgement. Soo good
I can't wait 😍
Dex!
Sup, ya goon. lol
Goon!
Goon
Aye it's Dexter!
I actually prefer the English voices lol. Especially for noctis, his Japanese voice is too boring and bland. I mean
He already looks kinda Emo ahaha. His English voice gives him personality.
Cynva agree. kinda weird too
I agree.. He sorta sounds morbid but I know why though... I would be too if I lost people I loved
French voices are the best, by far.
Usualy its the Japanese voice actor that gives the personality and the english being bland. from what I always hear from people.
Agreed! I'm not a Japanese speaker by any means, but I found the amount of grunts put in a bit too extensive.
Wow... Mathew Mercer. Didn't see that one coming. I am pleasantly surprised!
I just wanna hear Adam Croadsdell say ' THATS it I've come up with a new recipe!'
Prompto's voice doesn't match his actor's face at all xD
Thats good ;)
Dude King Regis’ voice actor is so deep I can feel the vibrations through the keyboard
My name is Matthew Mercer and I play the role of Troy Baker
I love how each of the main characters in this game has a deep and emotional background behind their backs, that they have overcomed and adapted through. They are really more than just 'side characters' and more of main individuals. the writing is perfect, and I never regretted purchasing this game.
Now that's how to give a character soul everyone. I mean look at Darin De Paul, he's litteraly embodying Ardyn. Even though everyone did a good job on the cast though, but Darin is something special.
Darin de Paul!!! SOOO GOOD
Ray Chase is really good at playing Noctis, especially the final line, 'you guys are the best' it touched my heart even when it's just a dark screen
Luna is a strong independent woman who doesn't need no man
Cody Santana And she's black.
Cody Santana yeah sureee
bullshit.
That's literally what I said lol.
LMAO hahaha
"I play king Regis, I have a total of 2 minutes of screen time. It was truly a memorable experience but I will never be Sean Bean"
Behemoth He had more than that in Kingsglaive, it's all good.
These guys done such a great job with the english voice over, I just cant get over it. Me crey.
Noct's voice actor is just perfect.
It’s almost 5 years later, but gahhh I love this game so much. It’s so nice to see that the voice actors enjoyed the experience so much 😭
Also, I can’t believe Matt Mercer voices Cor…I never would’ve guessed him!!
first Reinhardt and then McCree what's up with the overwatch characters fam
Izaya Kaneki what?
BlackhawkTheBloodedge the voice actors for McCree and Reinhardt are in their
n the actor for Junkrat too :x
Someone needs to get him to say Reinhardt's lines as Ardyn.... I demands it
Ikr
MATTHEW MERCER!!!!! YES!
***** He's great!
at least its not troy baker lol
teamhebi13 I like Troy Baker too, though, but there has been some Troy Baker over saturation recently.
ITS HIGH NOOOOOOOONNN
All voice actors were great, but Ignis knocked out of the park. One sentence spoken by the guy and you know exactly the type of person his character is
THAT'S IT!!
I've come up with a new RECIPAH!!
That's it!
Silent Protagonist Whats it
+Helix Berry I've come up with a new recipe!
Silent Protagonist Heh, I can taste test for you
Cant wait to try it!
Pot Of Greed What do you do?!?!? I must know so I can tell Pharoh Atem
The reason why Darin de Paul did incredibly well is not just because he sounded and performed great in his role, but he also was passionate and enthusiastic on the character and story which is a perfect combo.
I love how the voice actors change the tone in their voices.
I love seeing Darin geek over his character Ardyn.
Ray Chase and Darin De Paul in particular are such amazing voice actors. Throughout the whole game I was just in awe at how well they sold their scenes.
" I want to ride my Chocobo all day" lol
Tfw Ardyn is Reinhardt, you wonderful man
Watching this after finishing the game just makes me incredibly emotional
Wow these voice actors really fit their in game counterparts pretty well.. kinda cool to see that lol
I've always loved the English-language voices. I'm going to play with their voices.
ikr
The voice acting was really REALLY good for a final fantasy game. I loved how natural the dialogue and character interactions were. It really saved the game for me :)
After the voice actor of Ardyn talks about his character, its remind me of Little finger from Game of thrones
Exactly. Imagine him quoting " Chaos is a ladder ". That would be nice.
I like Lunafreya. She is the best female character ever.
finally! someone who shares the same opinion as me! well not the best in all of the games but for this FF entry she definitely is.
why? I know she looks amazing, but we dont know thaaaat much about her
i've watched kingsglaive so i kinda know some things about her.
+狼黒 ohhh yeah, the movie!! I didnt see it yet! :)
We have minimal information about her and you're already saying this?
Chris Parson's Gladio voice to his real voice gave me whiplash
These ppl are perfect for the characters😍💞✨
Who else gets goosebumps every time you hear the Somnus violin?
The part with Luna and the Leviathan was completely bonkers. One of the sickest cutscenes I've ever witnessed.
Darin De Paul is an absolute *blessing.*
Ardyn Izunia's VA is the best for me. The way he talks is majestic, "like a king".
2:35
Let's take a moment to say that this is the voice of Junkrat here.
I have to say all the VA was outstanding and very likeable, but Ardyn's voice actor and his performance made me fall in love with him xD
