Thank you for this episode.... I have followed you since the start and it was me that pointed you towards Clifton Baines' rainforest book all those years back. There are so many books now exploring the temperate forests of the west that I feel so satisfied my tree-evangelist days are paying off. Now I will encourage you to team up with Rob McBride, the Tree-Hunter, to discover some astonishing veterans with astonishing stories!
Great video Simon, but of course the true star is Meg! The greens are beautiful, great shots Simon. I just received my Gathering Time, well done. So many of my favorite shots are in there. Thanks again for taking us along.
This wood looks like the wood we have in the north of Spain Simon, Is a very difficult thing to find a real good composition but, when you find one, usually is absolute glorious!!! . In this time of the year the green in Galicia are very saturated! it look like you move the saturation slider to max! but is the real color, in fact I normally low a bit the saturation because is not the way i like it. Keep on man I will follow you for ever because you are a real photographer, period! Cheers and good luck my friend!
Walking into a fairy tale, excellent. Almost every direction is a photography hit. Almost surrealistic. Try to beat that Photoshop AI Beautiful and thanks for sharing !!
Following your latest newsletter, I have just re-watched your rainforest episode from 2018. It clearly shows why I always watch your channel. It was a lovely and well presented video, and this is wonderful too. It is great to see you and Meg back on our screens.
I've only just discovered your channel and, in a very strange way, i find myself 'believing' in it. Take that any way you wish... it's not for me to explain it here. I must thank you for giving my confidence a considerable boost. I live in a wetland and rainforest - not near, but in. It is denser than what you've shown here, and i've had a lot of difficulty in reconciling what i typically do in my photography with this environment's bewildering complexity. I want to shoot within and big, but the intensity of it means i end up going landscape - essentially, views from without - or tight isolations... or textures at a fine scale. I don't think there is anything wrong with images at those scales, but they fail to represent (what i believe) is the most important characteristic of this type of environment - the overwhelming profusion of life and its capacity to adapt and sustain itself in remarkable ways. So... you've given me a glimpse of how i can go forward. Thanks you. You've also said enough to make me want to contribute to your project as more than just a subscriber - i'll get my head around the options. All the very best from a cabin in a swamp in a rainforest in winter in New Zealand.
Simply wonderful, thanks Simon! Ditto every video of yours that I've seen (not a dog lover usually, but Meg is adorable). Will now become a Patreon donor to you and Nigel Danson, my favourite landscape photographer. So much better value than the bloody BBC licence!
I live in the USA. This forrest reminds me of a trip we made to the Pacific Northwest. Glad for you that there is a similar environment in your part of the world.
Oh man, it’s good to see a new video from you and especially in such a magical woodland! Hope your back is tolerable. I suffer from that, as well. Hugs to Meg! Sean
I don't know how you do it Simon. You always make sense of the chaos in the woodland. So nice to see you and Meg out and about again. That moss is absolutely beautiful.
Hi Simon. Guy Shrubsole's wonderful book gave me tons of inspiration last year and seeing you in this setting has a similar effect and reminds me there's a site in mid-Wales that I need to revisit. It's great to see you back out in your element doing what you love. Can't believe it's five years since your first temperate rainforest video. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work with us.
Not sure where you are located Simon but I had a spring holiday in Sunart a few years back and was blown away with the lush green colours. Loads of woodland walks to enjoy together with some wilder places to explore. Always find it amazing how you manage to pick out shots in amongst the trees, a skill I don’t seem to poses! Always a pleasure to watch, all the best, Paul
Nice to see you and Meg back out, certainly a fascinating find, you’ll be like a kid in a goody shop. Once you’ve sorted through the chaos. Looking forward to the images and the future vlogs.
As always a great video. Those moss shots are incredible. It makes me very happy to see Simon and Meg at it again. Looking forward to more adventures. Thank you ,I have missed your videos..
Oh what a wonderful forest! The image of all the branches going every which way is particularly lovely. Seeing how much Meg enjoys herself never fails to make me smile 😊
So good to see you and Meg again. I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were after the chill of Antarctica! It's interesting that a lot of the folks I follow on You Tube have mentioned a little burn out recently, but you all work so hard to be creative and come up with new content that it's not surprising. I always enjoy your videos and as a gal from the Pacific Northwest of the US, moss is one of my significant others! Love it!
I really loved this video Simon - This is the closest I have yet seen to the sort of conditions I encounter in New Zealand, and I am looking forward to see what you find and how you approach the conditions over the next week. You even had to pull out your CPL!
Great to see another video of you, Simon. I truly enjoyed your view and explanation of the woodland you are in, with some very interesting photo’s as result. Looking forward to some follow-up of this version. Thanks for sharing!
Great to see a new video from you, Simon. Especially as I just came back from Scotland myself, photographing the wonderful trees and landscapes. All of what you said resonated so well, as when going there, I wasn‘t in the best mental state myself. Exploring a new area gives many more perspectives, photographically and otherwise. Thank you for sharing your work!
So nice to see a new video, Simon! And a very beautiful and promising woodland! For some reason, I was attracted to the two trees on the left of your picture at 11:40 right away, they caught my eye immediately. I also love the next picture, at 11:50. Very impressive tree! It also has something scary to it somehow, with its arms (the branches) reaching out to get the viewer, or so it seems 😅
What a beautiful new woodland, but your attempt to show us the beauty and complexity is successful and I'm already waiting for more images from this incredible place .Thank you and don't worry I will continue to support you as far as possible ( as I think many /all of your followers ). Even if your videos are not so frequent the quality is outstanding P.S I know : money is always a problem ☹☹
I am surprised it is allowed to walk into the forest just like that. Not the case for Germany, every somewhat nice looking forest is a protected area and leaving marked trails is not allowed.
For the most part, you can go where you like, but obviously you should be responsible and use common sense. It's also why I go to places which see few people - my presence goes unnoticed with no trail marks left behind.
@@SimonBaxterPhotography Wish I could do the same in Germany not breaking any rules. There are forests that aren't a part of nature protected area and you can walk there freely, but those are seldom inspiring.
There is simply no one else who organizes the chaos of woodland photography like Simon...and Meg.
Thank you very much, Jerry ☺️
So lovely to see you out with Meg taking in all that beautiful moss. Amazing to see how much it covers.
So good to see you and Meg back out in the forests again Simon.

good to see you and Meg frolicking in the woods again...
That area is screaming INFRARED. Let your friend Thomas Heaton know about this area. As always, another great video!
Great video Simon, but of course the true star is Meg! The greens are beautiful, great shots Simon. I just received my Gathering Time, well done. So many of my favorite shots are in there. Thanks again for taking us along.
Lovely vlog Simon - thoroughly enjoyed. So calming & inspiring - looking forward to the follow up episodes - cheers, John

I think a partnership with Patagonia would be a perfect fit for you Simon (cap and shirt product placement.) Love your work.
Thanks Trev. They've helped me out for a few years now but I don't shout about it 😊

What a place Simon, you just have to love our British temperate rain forests. Just wish I lived a little nearer...Scotland far for me.
Brilliant loved every minute off this video
Always inspiring seeing your videos
Simply stunning! Love your videos and photos :)
Wow, what a forest, great find and thanks for sharing, great to see you and Meg back out again exploring new forests :)

Thank you very much! I'm not burnt out but it's not been a good year for my back since Antarctica. I'm hoping the summer weather will help :-)
What a magnificent woodland and Meg seemed to enjoy herself 🥰📷👍🏻
Very enjoyable
It is always a pleasure to see your thought process behind composing your images.
Superb as always.
Thank you so much 😄
Fantastic photography! Glad to see you back!
Many thanks Jack 😀
Great photos and very beautiful video!!!
Thank you 😄
Beautiful images! Really love the moss covered trees
Many thanks Brian 😊

Lovely video and also the images!
Lovely video Simon and nice to see you back, looking forward to your next

Thank you very much, Peter! I didn't use a CPL for the second composition, so interesting to see just a subtle a difference between the 2 :)
What wonderful promenade in this magical forest. Love the richness of the greens and, of course, your photography. Thank you for sharing! 💗

Just a question...Did you crop the final image (ex: from 3:2 to 4:3) in the flied o when you are working the image?
Thank you! Typically always in the field with the Sony A7R5 :)
