LucIsz Moore I feel like Apocalypse was alright but it could have been a better fresh start for a New X-Men universe as well as an conclusion for The Fox-Men universe than what we got, but the ideas that worked: Mutants being more public for an early start seeing mutants accepted (like a Dazzler album or people enjoying Nightcrawler dancing or talking about Mystique saving the president ), but mutants still persecuted in more subtle ways(Nightcrawler and Angel in a mutant fight club being tortured and forced to fight) similar to what is shown in comics like Grant Morrison New X-Men or Mark Millar's Ultimate X-Men Magneto in hiding, with a family similar to his comic origin (I would have changed his name under hiding to Max or Magnus) before brainwashed by Apocalypse Delving into the origin of mutants through Apocalypse and connecting it to the origin of the X-Men (plus a more comic accurate Weapon X) Apocalypse could have been the philosophical cult leader and the Horsemen representing different cult fractions/ideas but also a visual threat and connecting his origin to aliens which was a plot point heavily hunted at in early interviews(in the same vein as Infinity Wars Thanos, Loki, Ego, and X2 and DOFP Magneto/William Stryker/Bolivar Trask) instead of the dull villain who although did a lot felt like he did nothing. Developing the new mutants like Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Nightcrawler and Jubilee while giving them the colorful costumes and in a way serving as a conclusion for The First Class cast and the previous 6 X-Men films but opening up a more comic accurate film universe New looks at mutants power sets (seeing Nightcrawler teleporting in his field, looking at Cyclops pov while he is using optic blast, Professor X and Jean fighting Apocalypse on the Astral plane, Jubilee using her fire bolts, Jean helping Cyclops control his optoc blasts as he fight Storm, Magneto getting more comic abilities, Storm riding her lighting bolts) The idea that the X-Men are starting in unfamiliar settings/personalities (Cyclops as a teenage loner and outsider instead of the team leader and boyscout, Storm as a theif and misfit instead of the goddess and confident leader, Jean Grey as guarded and alone instead of what the X-Men movies and 90's cartoon popularized her as or even what Evolution showe, Nightcrawler as the Evolution) similar to Age of Apocalypse so we can see them grow into the iconic X-Men from the comics/cartoons/first 3 movies (I would have loved to see Cyclops call the young X-Men the team of "teenage mutant fuck-ups" instead of wasting it on Magneto saying "who the fuck are you") But those ideas were underdeveloped and didn't get room to grow with interesting character development of characters who weren't Magneto, Mystique or Professor X (we lost scenes of Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler and Jubilee at the mall, Storm explaining her origin to Professor X not only showing why she is with Apocalypse buy it serves as a callback to a scene between her and Nightcrawler in X2 saying hate helps her survive, Cyclops/Alex brother moment and a better opening act to the movie we got with an unnecessary Quicksilver and debatable Wolverine scene)
Micheal Mah'moud I agree, and I can understand why they didn’t give so much time to the new X-Men, this story is about the old timers and they’re much better characters. I gotta say, the butchering of their characters along with some pretty bad casting really ruined these new X-Men, it surprises me how they actually managed to make a version worse than the previous one.

And Xavier in the comics forgives Magneto who in the storyline Fatal Attractions killed lots people when he send an EMP around the planet. Xavier is meant to be a forgiving dude. It’s his character and you saw that in DOFP.
@@joshuagrey7903 Actually this is addressed in the comics many many times, in Alternate Universes Charles simply changes the way everyone on earth percieves mutants. He simply makes everyone feel ok with mutants, he removes their fear...I think that's part of how that guy in the Phantom Zone gets so much power...what is that guys name? He kidnaps Charles and is super powerful because Charles accidentally funnelled all the fear into the Phantom Zone. Remember that one??
"I can make fireworks come out of my hands." That might be what Jubilee (especially that young) thinks her power is, but man... talk about underselling it. She can ignite bits of the universe with plasma explosions. That's what she's doing. She's destroying reality in tiny little pieces. Imagine what she could do if she, you know, practiced instead of hanging out at the mall all the time.
Because jocks/footballers give each other nicknames. Because that's Cyclop's new origin it gives reason to people getting names. The Flash did it, First Class did it. And X-Men 1 joked about it (starring Patrick Stewart as 'Wheels').
I chuckled when he said that but I agree with the sentiment . Quiksilver's speed is waaaay to OP and I wouldnt care if they retconned it to be slower with an excuse as dubious as "he grew older"
Jubilee’s mutant ability is to make EXPLOSIONS, not fireworks. She was only dumbing down her powers on the arcade machine. Her creating little sparks wasn’t the full extent of her powers. (You may argue that fireworks ARE explosions but no, explosions do damage while fireworks are a sort of light show)
Fireworks are pretty damaging too buddy. Also, yes her power is to make explosions, but they don’t come out like average explosions, they colorful and sparky and look a lot like fireworks, which is why she’s usually classified as “I make fireworks”
She actually creates pyrotechnic plasmoids from her hands which she can control and denonate with her mind buts basically she can blow things up with her mind
Perfection. 10s across the board...the Evolution elements would've been welcomed in this movie. Cyclops not giving Jean a codename is legit the best thing over.
Evolution left off at a decent enough spot though. yeah the final arc was rushed, but ultimately every big character beat that was set up earlier were addressed and dealt with by the end. While the show easily could have led into certain other aspects of the Xmen world, Like space travel or time travel shenanigans, the show left on a pretty satisfying note all things considered.
This movie already totally ripped off evolution. Blue apocalypse, nightcrawer and other xmen being teenagers, storm and magneto being horsemen despite the fact that they aren't really a horsemen anywhere else, etc
Wile I liked that design better than another Apocalypse look, I still think his arc in the 90s cartoon was better. plus he had some of the most memorable lines and delivery. "I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you"
Okay ... now I understand why fans were disappointed. This would have been a far more satisfying and interesting story. There is a lot more at stake, the drama and conflict of the old versus new mutants is brilliant, the non-mutants directly impact the story in a positive way for a change and the idea for Scott makes him so much more likeable and gives opportunities for the group dynamic to form naturally and personalities to form. I'm going to have to find this X-Men Evolution at some point to see the inspiration.
Yeah it's great. It does a great job of taking it's time introducing characters, so you feel far more connected to them. And the animation is just great.

I rewatched the Juggernaut episode of Xmen Evolution recently. Probably one of the best translations of a character from a comic book ever. He basically just walked through every obstacle in his way, and it took every Xman and Evil Mutant together to beat him.
I just love how youtube "amateurs" write better stories and plots that "professional" Hollywood writers. Probably because you guys understand the source material and are actual fans trying to create a compelling adventure rather than a product.

And then cross your fingers that the director doesn't make any changes or there isn't some mandate from above to change things or that nothing goes wrong in filming that would require retooling the script.

If it's this easy (or unprofessional) to rewrite a story of a comic book movie, than we are there still so many not good to outright bad films? I'm surprised no one has paid you to write anyone's screenplay yet. I'm not being sarcastic. I'm just so frustrated with hollywood screenwriters today; if it's their passion, then why do their products seem impassionate. Take this movie. I'm pretty sure many of the people who worked on this film were thinking what a crap script it had. I'm positive there were fans of the comics and and the animated series that helped work on this. I'm also sure that there were actual good writers on this film. Why is it that the final product was crap? The entire crew couldn't have been to blame. One group member's mistake will affect the rest of the group. But that member should be punished or at least get a demerit. It still amazes me how movies today can still be bad or below standard.
It's kinda easier to do this kind of Monday morning quarterbacking than it is to actually deal with the whole complicated system of producers and executives and agents other higher ups that all have their differing interests and demands, especially when you're dealing with big blockbuster money like these. So it was probably demanded that Wolverine pop up somewhere, and that a big name star like Jennifer Lawrence has to have X amount of screen time, and these certain action set pieces have to be here so figure out a way to get us there, for example oh wow the Quicksilver scene was a big hit last time so let's do it again. With a billion different moving parts and a billion different studio notes wanting this and that and that and this from you, it's a miracle that ANY of these movies are good, tbh.
Plus, it's very easy to outline a good story, but actually writing it is much, much harder. Think of all the terrible movies you've seen that have amazing sounding premises.
I'd say for a couple of reasons, first it's way easier to critique an already existing film than it is to just write a movie wholecloth (yeah it's made from comic releases but the rules of the medium are way different) and secondly this video isn't a screenplay, it's a pitch. I'm not saying that Nando doesn't have the ability to write this into a screenplay, but a good pitch ain't enough to make a good movie. There are many more aspects to film.
I’d also like to say that it could also be because of hindsight. It’s an alternative, arguably better, version of a film that we have already received. Not to discredit Nando, but it’s much easier to change what we have than it is to create something brand new.
I'm a fan of the X-Men movies, but Apokalypse was plain terrible. edit: Magneto's arc would have made SO much sense if his change of heart at the end was because Pietro tells him that he is his son, so Eric realices he is not alone, he still has family...hell, the scene when Apocalypse breaks his leg was the PERFECT chance to have him screaming "DAD!" which would make Eric snap and betray Apocalypse.
Everything you line up on in this video just proves that fox does not know how to use the X-Men characters right my only wish is that when the MCU gets ahold of them they can do a much better job

Imagine the whole setup going from The Guardian armor in Thor 1, every movie (1:War Machine *NEVER* makes an appearance during the ENTIRE 1st series of these movies, but Rhodes is introduced in IM2. 2:Civil War never occurs because Ultron's storyline isn't wasted on something so dumb, AoU ends totally differently, he beats their ass & he gets away) after that happens the same with a slight rewrite to reflect on Loki's misdeeds or deal with whatever consequences happened in their stories from his latest acts, Planet Hulk story wouldn't have been wasted which makes everyone happy. Thor 3 could've had a different subtitle & the main concern could've been Loki releasing the world eating serpent on Midgar. The latest Movie would've been taking the fight to Loki's realm vs. the armies he's been building & THEN it could be called Avengers: Ragnorok.Thor has Heimdall teleport the team away before his final clash with Loki & Asgard's fate is uncertain. Steve & Tony, quit as active members except Tony doesn't tell anyone not even the movie audience, from now on they will make cameos as guidance for the new members, Bucky becomes Cap & everytime Tony cameos in any movie IM has to be providing assistance in whatever battle that character is in, he still talks & jokes mid battle but we never get a HUD on screen. Using this method they could've STILL been setting up Infinity War by only showing *3* stones before this Finale,those are the: the Tesseract, which would remain in the cube until the same reveal MUCH later on, the Mind stone & the Power stone left with the Nova Corps. The next 3 are collected in the second series of movies. Ultron makes his mid series boss appearance looking more like his traditional self beats their ass again. In the climax he and IM are the last 2 standing in final 3 minutes of film when IM is defeated Ultron flies him over to the laid out Avengers as they get to their feet & says "Looks like Santa left you guys a present. " Slams IM to the ground "Here let me help you unwrap it!" Rips the armour off the arm revealing black skin underneath, in a HUD screen Rhodes groggily says "Well I guess it's time for the gloves to come off." Cut to Tony sitting at home saying aloud "Well I think you 2 already had your duel, unless you think you can think of a better way to lose this time." I M staggers to feet & watches Ultron flying away, he turns around and finds the team staring at him. Close up of IM helmet, close up Bucky face wide pan of the face off between IM & team. Smash to black screen. Ant Man 3 happens & Ghost becomes Goliath II. Quiksilver finally heals from his wounds, goes through PT and returns. IM has 1 movie & it leads directly into A:IW.They meet Ultron again during Avengers:IW & it's Avengers vs Ultron vs Thanos. Steve,Tony & Thor returns for these 2 movies + a third in the next series. Everyone loses to Thanos, Ultron escapes again & we're see him place himself somewhere secluded & goes into Stand By, saying "The Avengers when no longer be a problem when I awaken." At the end of the 2nd movie Hulk doesn't revert back to Banner takes the Quinjet & leaves but he *DOESN'T* leave the planet. He lives in self exile. All the next solo movies B plot is looking for the Hulk & there's only 1 solo movie apiece,no trilogies, but there are 6 movies 2 of them are duo 1 has to be Scarlet Witch & Vison, Tony & IM get taken together. This is because Kang shows up and teleports them away at the mid credit scene. The next Avenger movie starts off with everyone attacking Kang, he puts them in stasis , explains they're on Future Earth, informs them Ultron has awakened & currently taking over everything & no matter how many times he goes into a different timeline he can't defeat him nor can he find him while he's in Standby. They fight Ultron with Kang & barely lose. Someone remarks that maybe if they'd found Hulk before being kidnapped, he could've helped. Kang says he knows Hulk's location but hasn't sought his help except once because he's crazy. Hulk is old & he doesn't agree to help once he recognizes them. They challenge Ultron again Cap II dies,Hulk shows up & defeats him. Then he turns crazy, attacks Vision thinking he's Ultron, defeats the team, destroys Vision & leaves. Wanda pleads with Kang to go back right before the battle & he explains to her no matter what Vision is still dead in a timeline so he takes everyone back 1 second after they left. They find & capture Hulk, imprison him, hold him accountable for Goliath II death. Tony brings the Illuminati together explains what happens about the future & since he just killed Goliath II they exile him from the planet. Falcon takes lead role. Wanda goes crazy from grief throughout other characters movies, makes an appearance in an X-Men movie intervening in a battle between X-Men C team and some villains. Kills the villains, X-Men attempt to take her into custody, she snaps & kills them too. Planet Hulk movie happens then Avengers (Falcon becomes Cap III) & X-Men both have a House of M movie then AvX movies. At the conclusion Hulk & his team show up. World War Hulk ends only because Meep's betrayal is revealed & he goes into exile on Earth again. A few solo movies, by the third NASA announces there is a comet headed for the planet, fourth at the end reveals it's Terrax the Untamed. F4:Herald is the next movie & they defeat him. A:Galactus they lose but a regular person sacrifices himself to leave with Galactus. In mid credit the news reveals it's Norrin Radd & as they say his name we see him surfing through space. Old Man Logan happens, with the Hulk's children this time. Hulk is acknowledged to be alive but no one looks for him. The next movie opens with Hulk killing Vision in the future, when Kang returns he kills him also. When news travels that Ultron is dead the remaining new heroes come out from hiding only to now find out Hulk has made himself the new planet dictator and he goes by Maestro now. He kills a lot of the new heroes, they send a distress message to the only hero of legend who may still be around. Rune King Thor shows up &demolishes Maestro. Thor says something like "our story has come to an end old friend... brother. Nothing like I would have thought. I'm sorry." A clip plays that shows what happened after the team left Asgard, he fights Loki until Loki finally drops his guard at the wrong moment Thor immobilizes him, tells him he's doing this for the greater good of all the Realms & he kills Loki. He drops his hammer at the spot of Hulk's death, a makeshift tombstone. He calls for the Bifrost to take him home. A montage of clips from all the movies play during the credits. The end.

Yeah. He's way too fast. Kind of like how Professor X can solve all the problems so the movies has to sideline him. I think if they toned Quicksilver down, he would work really well with the team.

Dude this was so great. Idk if you're just a big movie fan or wanna work in the industry, but you should totally try to do something in that field. You understand character, motivation, arcs, and how to tell a story very well. Love your videos man! And yea, I adored X-Men Evolution when I was a kid. I loved the dynamic of having the OG X-Men be the teachers to the younger ones. Also, Wolverine and his story with X-23 was awesome. That show gave him such a sense of humanity.

Invisible Woman would be Death (she's the strongest, and can strike people down without them even knowing what's happening), and Human Torch War (because fire)...The Thing and Mr. Fantastic don't exactly work as Famine or Pestilence. Maybe if Reed designed some sort of disease that would spread by contact with his super-stretchy skin...

Cyclops being a QB is what I've been saying for ages, he needs to a leader which QBs are but also a straight A student. But also have him getting into fights and late for school to add depth to his character
Micheal Mah'moud, definitely, though it was the same creative team, though I prefer Evolution due to character designs and I felt it was more character driven as Wolverine & the X-Men was story, though the progressive build to both is great... Sure I don't have to tell you though. 90's series has dated quite a bit but I appreciate it for telling stories quite accurately and the anime had some good concepts so if you haven't checked that out I do recommend it.
X men have been treated pretty well on the small screen. All they're animated adaptations are all good and watchable. I wish wolverine and the xmen had more time, I felt like they were going in a good direction before it ended abruptly.

Grew up watching x-men evolution, changed and shaped my life. Loved that show soo much. My favorite of the x-men shows to this day. Which reminds me. Its totally time for a new animated x-men series. What are they waiting for?
Something to make the Cyke/Havok fight interesting is that, in the comics, they are unaffected by each other's powers. This would allow Cyclops to show that he can strategize and doesn't have to rely on his mutant powers.

Okay people call them fireworks cause thats what they look like but Jubilee can fire plasma from her hands like she could vaporize pretty much everyone if she really wanted too. And I get that since its the movie the powers are kinda nerfed like Cyclops doesn't slice people in half with his optic blasts but she could still totally kick butt. Sorry you probably already knew that it's just that Jubilee is my favorite X-man so I always gotta justify her.

X-men Evolution is just well done. It's not the best x-men media but it's better then most everything we've gotten, and it's stories are well written. As with all cartoons is a bit cheesy and has clunky diolog at times but I too enjoyed it.
I would have changed the twist and kept Shingen as the villain, make the Silver Samurai a henchman of his, and have Wolverine give up his immortality at the beginning instead of wondering why he lost it. Basically do an R-rated version of _Superman 2._
You win simply for having Jubilee actually do something. I’m almost at the point where I think there is a concerted effort by someone in Fox to stop Jubilee from being a major character in these films. And it goes as far back as X2. There is a deleted scene with Jubilee in museum at the beginning of the film, her hand involuntarily sparking (they even did all the effects for it) when she’s sees a derogatory display about Mutants. It feels like they wanted her to be part of the kid squad but was cut at the last minute.
I LOVE EVOLUTION! I was a mid 90's kid who didn't really get to experience comic books organically, so shows like X Men Evolution, in conjunction with the X Men Legends video games are what really got me passionate about these characters. I could write essays on how the characters shaped and strengthened who I am in real life. Also, side note, your rewrites are genius and I don't think you get enough praise for it. Every time I watch one of your videos I sit around hoping the people who wrote and directed these movies are watching too and learn something from you.

Yeah that show was great. It's a bummer the show ended but it is nice that they gave that glimpse of the future with Jean and Nimrod and the older X-Men.
the 90's cartoon actually did a pretty good job of the Phoenix saga. They did days of future past and Phalanx Convent, and a lot of the cris claimont run.
X-Men: Evolution is one of my two favorite shows of all time (alongside Avatar: The Last Airbender) and I'm so glad to see it referenced in a UA-cam video. Also, your changes are brilliant! It's well thought out, serves the story and characters and I can't believe you even thought of little details like why everyone except Jean gets a nickname!! I'm curious if Disney can actually make a good X-Men movie. It would be hard to replicate the Avengers concept of being the team together. There's too many mutants. Fox did a terrible job. Every movie they introduced mutants only to never see them again. I'm still mad at what Fox did to Jubilee and Blob. Jubilee never gets to use her powers ever. Her scenes are always cut from the films. And Blob is supposed to be unstoppable but he gets knocked out like nothing. He only has a one second role of being knocked out wtf!
"There's too many mutants" we had the same worries with Infinity War and they nailed it; my guess is that we'll not see X-Men for the next 3-4 years and that Feige already had some sorta of plan in mind even before Disney started the negociations to buy Fox. The MCU was build in a way that is always possible to introduce new people without looking weird.
My only change to what you suggested is that Quicksilver is the horseman not Magneto because a superspeed fightscene similar to DOFP with a dark undertone showing how he could be as devastating as his father(Magneto) was in first class would be a really intriguing premise not to mention a awesome scene
I love that idea even more than the one in the video. It would also be awesome if brainwashed Quicksilver told Magneto about being his son in the middle of the battle. It could be something Apocalypse made him do to leverage Magneto and try to pull him onto their side. Or maybe it's some hidden frustration Peter always had, but was revealed because his mind is under the influence of Apoc. Magneto would have to choose between his "family" of x-men and an actual family. It would make an amazing "Oh shit!" moment, instead of a plotline that was only briefly mentioned and then abandoned for no reason.
Honestly I love some good ol "son brings father back to the Light Side" narrative but this twist would be indeed so refreshing and interesting. We already saw Magneto in this bad/not so bad dynamic multiple times in movies since the 2000s, is almost like the killing Uncle Ben joke at this point.
I love this for so many reasons. I love magneto having to earn the trust of the x-men but them eventually working with him because he wants to radically change the world not destroy it. A good old fashioned moral dilemma on his part as Erik realizes that even though apocalypse wants a world of mutants, what he's doing is wrong. Plus it's a good opportunity for some fun banter between him and Charles. I think it'd be way more fun if he was taken and brain washed later in the movie. This way he comes to care about those on the team and we care about him more than if he's just snatched. I think a type of self sacrifice (intentional or he stayed behind to cover his friends escape and ends up captured) would be the best way for apocalypse to get his hands on him, showing how important those he cares about are to him (lets just run with the family theme the movie tried to give him) so theres an added level of emotion doing when the others fight him. Quicksilver was caught so they could escape and this is the consequences of that. Quicksilver won't get upgraded because he was captured later so there's no time for it, plus he's already super over powered to begin with and this way he won't be unbeatable. I like the idea of magneto working with the sentinels to stop quicksilver but this time not controlling them, it feels like a fun call back and can be a reference to Erik changing because of the event and realizing that burning everything to the ground and controlling the warped remains of what's left is a bad way to do things like I mentioned earlier. The fight itself would have the same sort of chaotic energy quicksilver had in his first scene in days of future past where he wants to break into the pentagon just for the fun of it, but much more malevolent. He'd wreak more havoc than havoc because any morals or limits he'd set for himself would be completely gone. I like to think that apocalypse isn't actively controlling his horsemen or stripping them of their personality as much as he is warping their minds to fit his needs. So the mental link think wouldn't work and we would get some fun and cynical quips from quicksilver since he's still the same person, just wrap. Also because of this, he'd probably still value family, but it'd be pushed to the back of his mind. Reminding him of it could make him hesitate in battle giving magneto a chance to break the control. I'm not sure how the actual reveal would go but maybe quicksilver reveals to a nearly beaten magneto that he can't believe he use to look up to and care about him even though he was never there for him, how in the past he was blinded by the fact that he was his father to see how pathetic and weak he actually was. Wow I wrote a lot more than I previously anticipated.
Which leads to my biggest question about this movie. Did he make zippers? Is the clothing just one solid piece? How do the Horsemen use the bathroom? Did his power upgrade make them not need to use the bathroom anymore?

A. I fucking LOVE your version so much more than what we got. B. I have one idea on how to make it even better. We're doing Dark Phoenix next - let's set that up here. Cyclops has a plan in Egypt to fight Apocalypse, we're going to send everything we have straight at Magneto to draw attention - Sentinels, Storm, Angel, Quicksilver and Cyclops - all the people who draw LOTS of attention to themselves. Meanwhile Nightcrawler, Jean, and Jubilee carry the real mission - covertly get control of Professor X: they take Magneto's helmet to sever Apocalypse's control of the Professor, which means the Overt Team need to kill Magneto. That's a great moment for Quicksilver and Magneto that will have a big impact on the audience, and pass the torch to the new X-men: Magneto dies at the end. Now, Covert Team (Nightcrawler, Jean, and Jubilee) get control of Professor X, and Cyclops kinda thought that freeing Professor X might be enough to turn the tide - but it's not - Apocalypse is a fucking monster - and even with all their power, he's still just toying with them. Nightcrawler is critically wounded trying to get into melee with Apocalypse, Professor X and Jean are using all their might and still struggling to psychically hamper Apocalypse, who is not only mentally combating them, but also fighting off everyone else at this point - and suddenly it looks like Jean dies. Wait, no. What the fuck is happening. Jean is reborn - but she's not Jean. Professor X, a moment ago at the edge of breaking just from fighting Apocalypse, is now terrified - because he's the only one who knows what's coming: he put the restrictions in her mind himself. Phoenix and Apocalypse battle. Yup. We're doing it a movie earlier now. With no explanation for the non-fans. Apocalypse is properly wounded and flees the battle, teleports out, we have no idea where he ended up. Jean is heavily damaged herself - she ends the battle unconscious, in critical condition, in a hospital. Professor X pays his respects to Magneto in the morgue, then goes upstairs to see Jean fresh from the OR. End the movie with some ominous discussion between the team about what exactly Jean/Phoenix is, and not knowing who will wake up - and if it's perhaps even better to keep her sedated forever. Now, what this sets up is - despite Cyclops's protestation - to keep Jean sedated, Hank and Prof. X, and a team of scientists are studying her - but they still aren't certain who is in there: Prof. X considers it a gamble to wake her. In Dark Phoenix, eventually a new threat looms so large in the first act that they awake Jean - but she's Phoenix - and then she's Dark Phoenix in act 2, and then they battle and restore her in act 3: putting some limitations on her back in place. There we go, Jean is restored to the team following the events of Dark Phoenix ready for new movies.

the traditional gimmick of cyclops vs havoc has been that cyclops is better trained and more experienced. so while havoc stands around blasting scot, cyclops is the one who thinks to shoot something that explodes and hits havoc. or can target havoc's hands so he flies into a wall.
@18:07 For the Cyclops vs Havoc fight, why not have Striker team-up with Cyclops to take down down Havoc, since evil Havoc has been upgraded, I don't think teenage Cyclops can survive a 1 on 1 battle against him? Even though Striker is just human, he still have years of experience & knowledge in weaponry & military tactics over Cyclops. Maybe do a scene with Striker coaching Cyclops on how to survey the landscape & use the terrain to his own advantage or how to create distractions & mislead the enemy to moving where you want him to be. And after Cyclops' victory, have Striker pat him on the back you say "You should join the military. He can use more men like you."
Khan Kake did you see their roles? Jubilee never uses her powers in the movies. They recorded scenes of them using their powers then they deleted them from the movie. Blob only shows up to get beaten up in both films.
I loved X-Mem Evolution! Although not gonna lie, it makes me sad when people just refer to Jubilee's powers as fireworks. She can control where they go, make them scalding hot to burn or purely concussive, make them bright to distract and blind, and can potentially become a walking nuclear fusion bomb!

That would have been actually a movie worth watching. The only thing I disagree about is the ending, e. g. The X-men imprisoning Apocalypse. Instead, they should have been able to wound him severely (although he should also injure them pretty bad, maybe even killing one of them) and therefore force him to retreat and go into hibernation. Now comes another point into play: The fact that Apocalypse augmented himself with celestial technology at some point in time. My idea would be that the Apocalypse they fight in the movie would be pre-augmented and therefore weaker. Simultaneously, they could fit in a scene where he can be seen being improved by said technology while hibernating. By doing this, they could have not only allowed him to return, but also to be a massive threat again. Otherwise he would just be the same guy they have already beaten before and given that the X-men get stronger over the years, there would be little reason to see him as a threat. But otherwise a very thorough and detailed analysis, especially the part about Apocalypse's iconic powers completely missing from the movie.
Vahlen Considering Apocalypse was supposed to be the third and final installment in this “prequel” storyline (can’t be an official prequel when the timeline is reset), having some old characters die was essential to the movie, and the only guy they kill off was barely memorable. Still don’t understand how in Days of Future Past, Havok was one of the only ones to survive for so long. Hell, I will never forget about Darwin...

Mutants being more public for an early start seeing mutants accepted (like a Dazzler album or people enjoying Nightcrawler dancing or talking about Mystique saving the president ), but mutants still persecuted in more subtle ways(Nightcrawler and Angel in a mutant fight club being tortured and forced to fight) similar to what is shown in comics like Grant Morrison New X-Men or Mark Millar's Ultimate X-Men
Magneto in hiding, with a family similar to his comic origin (I would have changed his name under hiding to Max or Magnus) before brainwashed by Apocalypse
Delving into the origin of mutants through Apocalypse and connecting it to the origin of the X-Men (plus a more comic accurate Weapon X)
Apocalypse could have been the philosophical cult leader and the Horsemen representing different cult fractions/ideas but also a visual threat and connecting his origin to aliens which was a plot point heavily hunted at in early interviews(in the same vein as Infinity Wars Thanos, Loki, Ego, and X2 and DOFP Magneto/William Stryker/Bolivar Trask) instead of the dull villain who although did a lot felt like he did nothing.
Developing the new mutants like Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Nightcrawler and Jubilee while giving them the colorful costumes and in a way serving as a conclusion for The First Class cast and the previous 6 X-Men films but opening up a more comic accurate film universe
New looks at mutants power sets (seeing Nightcrawler teleporting in his field, looking at Cyclops pov while he is using optic blast, Professor X and Jean fighting Apocalypse on the Astral plane, Jubilee using her fire bolts, Jean helping Cyclops control his optoc blasts as he fight Storm, Magneto getting more comic abilities, Storm riding her lighting bolts)
The idea that the X-Men are starting in unfamiliar settings/personalities (Cyclops as a teenage loner and outsider instead of the team leader and boyscout, Storm as a theif and misfit instead of the goddess and confident leader, Jean Grey as guarded and alone instead of what the X-Men movies and 90's cartoon popularized her as or even what Evolution showe, Nightcrawler as the Evolution) similar to Age of Apocalypse so we can see them grow into the iconic X-Men from the comics/cartoons/first 3 movies (I would have loved to see Cyclops call the young X-Men the team of "teenage mutant fuck-ups" instead of wasting it on Magneto saying "who the fuck are you")
But those ideas were underdeveloped and didn't get room to grow with interesting character development of characters who weren't Magneto, Mystique or Professor X (we lost scenes of Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler and Jubilee at the mall, Storm explaining her origin to Professor X not only showing why she is with Apocalypse buy it serves as a callback to a scene between her and Nightcrawler in X2 saying hate helps her survive, Cyclops/Alex brother moment and a better opening act to the movie we got with an unnecessary Quicksilver and debatable Wolverine scene)

I agree, and I can understand why they didn’t give so much time to the new X-Men, this story is about the old timers and they’re much better characters. I gotta say, the butchering of their characters along with some pretty bad casting really ruined these new X-Men, it surprises me how they actually managed to make a version worse than the previous one.

He simply makes everyone feel ok with mutants, he removes their fear...I think that's part of how that guy in the Phantom Zone gets so much power...what is that guys name? He kidnaps Charles and is super powerful because Charles accidentally funnelled all the fear into the Phantom Zone. Remember that one??
"I can make fireworks come out of my hands." That might be what Jubilee (especially that young) thinks her power is, but man... talk about underselling it. She can ignite bits of the universe with plasma explosions. That's what she's doing. She's destroying reality in tiny little pieces. Imagine what she could do if she, you know, practiced instead of hanging out at the mall all the time.
The damage that she could do as an antagonist (especially in the current MCU) with her powers...
Other characters have seen their powers grow. It would be nice if characters like Jubilee did too.

Jubilee’s mutant ability is to make EXPLOSIONS, not fireworks. She was only dumbing down her powers on the arcade machine. Her creating little sparks wasn’t the full extent of her powers.
(You may argue that fireworks ARE explosions but no, explosions do damage while fireworks are a sort of light show)

Also, yes her power is to make explosions, but they don’t come out like average explosions, they colorful and sparky and look a lot like fireworks, which is why she’s usually classified as “I make fireworks”

Evolution left off at a decent enough spot though. yeah the final arc was rushed, but ultimately every big character beat that was set up earlier were addressed and dealt with by the end. While the show easily could have led into certain other aspects of the Xmen world, Like space travel or time travel shenanigans, the show left on a pretty satisfying note all things considered.
X-Men: Evolution had a great Apocalypse arc so it's perfect inspiration. You did a great job fixing the issues in this movie.

This would have been a far more satisfying and interesting story. There is a lot more at stake, the drama and conflict of the old versus new mutants is brilliant, the non-mutants directly impact the story in a positive way for a change and the idea for Scott makes him so much more likeable and gives opportunities for the group dynamic to form naturally and personalities to form.
I'm going to have to find this X-Men Evolution at some point to see the inspiration.

This was a longer one, but it was really great. Honestly, you pick apart these films better than most.
I rewatched the Juggernaut episode of Xmen Evolution recently. Probably one of the best translations of a character from a comic book ever. He basically just walked through every obstacle in his way, and it took every Xman and Evil Mutant together to beat him.
My favorite episode. Survival of the Fittest.
The episode where he comes back and the Xmen beat him alone was also a really good showing of how much they've improved over the series.
Juggernaut handling of the X-Men in the episode was one of my favorite takes of the character

I just love how youtube "amateurs" write better stories and plots that "professional" Hollywood writers. Probably because you guys understand the source material and are actual fans trying to create a compelling adventure rather than a product.

And then cross your fingers that the director doesn't make any changes or there isn't some mandate from above to change things or that nothing goes wrong in filming that would require retooling the script.

If it's this easy (or unprofessional) to rewrite a story of a comic book movie, than we are there still so many not good to outright bad films? I'm surprised no one has paid you to write anyone's screenplay yet. I'm not being sarcastic. I'm just so frustrated with hollywood screenwriters today; if it's their passion, then why do their products seem impassionate. Take this movie. I'm pretty sure many of the people who worked on this film were thinking what a crap script it had. I'm positive there were fans of the comics and and the animated series that helped work on this. I'm also sure that there were actual good writers on this film. Why is it that the final product was crap? The entire crew couldn't have been to blame. One group member's mistake will affect the rest of the group. But that member should be punished or at least get a demerit. It still amazes me how movies today can still be bad or below standard.
It's kinda easier to do this kind of Monday morning quarterbacking than it is to actually deal with the whole complicated system of producers and executives and agents other higher ups that all have their differing interests and demands, especially when you're dealing with big blockbuster money like these.
So it was probably demanded that Wolverine pop up somewhere, and that a big name star like Jennifer Lawrence has to have X amount of screen time, and these certain action set pieces have to be here so figure out a way to get us there, for example oh wow the Quicksilver scene was a big hit last time so let's do it again.
With a billion different moving parts and a billion different studio notes wanting this and that and that and this from you, it's a miracle that ANY of these movies are good, tbh.
If you’ve ever had a catastrophic group project full of egos, you’d understand a fraction of why blockbusters go wrong.
Plus, it's very easy to outline a good story, but actually writing it is much, much harder. Think of all the terrible movies you've seen that have amazing sounding premises.
I'd say for a couple of reasons, first it's way easier to critique an already existing film than it is to just write a movie wholecloth (yeah it's made from comic releases but the rules of the medium are way different) and secondly this video isn't a screenplay, it's a pitch. I'm not saying that Nando doesn't have the ability to write this into a screenplay, but a good pitch ain't enough to make a good movie. There are many more aspects to film.
I’d also like to say that it could also be because of hindsight. It’s an alternative, arguably better, version of a film that we have already received.
Not to discredit Nando, but it’s much easier to change what we have than it is to create something brand new.
I'm a fan of the X-Men movies, but Apokalypse was plain terrible.
edit: Magneto's arc would have made SO much sense if his change of heart at the end was because Pietro tells him that he is his son, so Eric realices he is not alone, he still has family...hell, the scene when Apocalypse breaks his leg was the PERFECT chance to have him screaming "DAD!" which would make Eric snap and betray Apocalypse.

Loki's story is long & rich with dastardly deeds that could have set him up to be the ultimate villain overall instead of Thanos. Imagine the whole setup going from The Guardian armor in Thor 1, every movie (1:War Machine *NEVER* makes an appearance during the ENTIRE 1st series of these movies, but Rhodes is introduced in IM2. 2:Civil War never occurs because Ultron's storyline isn't wasted on something so dumb, AoU ends totally differently, he beats their ass & he gets away) after that happens the same with a slight rewrite to reflect on Loki's misdeeds or deal with whatever consequences happened in their stories from his latest acts, Planet Hulk story wouldn't have been wasted which makes everyone happy. Thor 3 could've had a different subtitle & the main concern could've been Loki releasing the world eating serpent on Midgar. The latest Movie would've been taking the fight to Loki's realm vs. the armies he's been building & THEN it could be called Avengers: Ragnorok.Thor has Heimdall teleport the team away before his final clash with Loki & Asgard's fate is uncertain.
Steve & Tony, quit as active members except Tony doesn't tell anyone not even the movie audience, from now on they will make cameos as guidance for the new members, Bucky becomes Cap & everytime Tony cameos in any movie IM has to be providing assistance in whatever battle that character is in, he still talks & jokes mid battle but we never get a HUD on screen.
Using this method they could've STILL been setting up Infinity War by only showing *3* stones before this Finale,those are the: the Tesseract, which would remain in the cube until the same reveal MUCH later on, the Mind stone & the Power stone left with the Nova Corps. The next 3 are collected in the second series of movies. Ultron makes his mid series boss appearance looking more like his traditional self beats their ass again. In the climax he and IM are the last 2 standing in final 3 minutes of film when IM is defeated Ultron flies him over to the laid out Avengers as they get to their feet & says "Looks like Santa left you guys a present. " Slams IM to the ground "Here let me help you unwrap it!" Rips the armour off the arm revealing black skin underneath, in a HUD screen Rhodes groggily says "Well I guess it's time for the gloves to come off." Cut to Tony sitting at home saying aloud "Well I think you 2 already had your duel, unless you think you can think of a better way to lose this time." I M staggers to feet & watches Ultron flying away, he turns around and finds the team staring at him. Close up of IM helmet, close up Bucky face wide pan of the face off between IM & team. Smash to black screen. Ant Man 3 happens & Ghost becomes Goliath II. Quiksilver finally heals from his wounds, goes through PT and returns.
IM has 1 movie & it leads directly into A:IW.They meet Ultron again during Avengers:IW & it's Avengers vs Ultron vs Thanos. Steve,Tony & Thor returns for these 2 movies + a third in the next series. Everyone loses to Thanos, Ultron escapes again & we're see him place himself somewhere secluded & goes into Stand By, saying "The Avengers when no longer be a problem when I awaken."
Series 3 of the movies starts off with Civil War, because now Spider-Man is of proper age and has the experiences of having a real life before he unmasks himself & there should be more than enough heroes & villains for it to be done correct especially if Marvel has the rights back to X-Men & FF. Civil War is the last action paced movies for Steve & Tony, it will take 2 of them. Hulk kills Goliath II willingly, after being told by Tony to stand down(he's on the Registration team) Steve goes to jail, Tony retires from action. At the end of the 2nd movie Hulk doesn't revert back to Banner takes the Quinjet & leaves but he *DOESN'T* leave the planet. He lives in self exile. All the next solo movies B plot is looking for the Hulk & there's only 1 solo movie apiece,no trilogies, but there are 6 movies 2 of them are duo 1 has to be Scarlet Witch & Vison, Tony & IM get taken together. This is because Kang shows up and teleports them away at the mid credit scene. The next Avenger movie starts off with everyone attacking Kang, he puts them in stasis , explains they're on Future Earth, informs them Ultron has awakened & currently taking over everything & no matter how many times he goes into a different timeline he can't defeat him nor can he find him while he's in Standby. They fight Ultron with Kang & barely lose. Someone remarks that maybe if they'd found Hulk before being kidnapped, he could've helped. Kang says he knows Hulk's location but hasn't sought his help except once because he's crazy. Hulk is old & he doesn't agree to help once he recognizes them. They challenge Ultron again Cap II dies,Hulk shows up & defeats him. Then he turns crazy, attacks Vision thinking he's Ultron, defeats the team, destroys Vision & leaves. Wanda pleads with Kang to go back right before the battle & he explains to her no matter what Vision is still dead in a timeline so he takes everyone back 1 second after they left. They find & capture Hulk, imprison him, hold him accountable for Goliath II death. Tony brings the Illuminati together explains what happens about the future & since he just killed Goliath II they exile him from the planet.
Falcon takes lead role. Wanda goes crazy from grief throughout other characters movies, makes an appearance in an X-Men movie intervening in a battle between X-Men C team and some villains. Kills the villains, X-Men attempt to take her into custody, she snaps & kills them too. Planet Hulk movie happens then Avengers (Falcon becomes Cap III) & X-Men both have a House of M movie then AvX movies. At the conclusion Hulk & his team show up.
World War Hulk ends only because Meep's betrayal is revealed & he goes into exile on Earth again. A few solo movies, by the third NASA announces there is a comet headed for the planet, fourth at the end reveals it's Terrax the Untamed. F4:Herald is the next movie & they defeat him. A:Galactus they lose but a regular person sacrifices himself to leave with Galactus. In mid credit the news reveals it's Norrin Radd & as they say his name we see him surfing through space.
Old Man Logan happens, with the Hulk's children this time. Hulk is acknowledged to be alive but no one looks for him.
The next movie opens with Hulk killing Vision in the future, when Kang returns he kills him also. When news travels that Ultron is dead the remaining new heroes come out from hiding only to now find out Hulk has made himself the new planet dictator and he goes by Maestro now. He kills a lot of the new heroes, they send a distress message to the only hero of legend who may still be around. Rune King Thor shows up &demolishes Maestro. Thor says something like "our story has come to an end old friend... brother. Nothing like I would have thought. I'm sorry." A clip plays that shows what happened after the team left Asgard, he fights Loki until Loki finally drops his guard at the wrong moment Thor immobilizes him, tells him he's doing this for the greater good of all the Realms & he kills Loki. Loki's story is long & rich with dastardly deeds that could have set him up to be the ultimate villain overall instead of Thanos. Imagine the whole setup going from The Guardian armor in Thor 1, every movie (1:War Machine *NEVER* makes an appearance during the ENTIRE 1st series of these movies, but Rhodes is introduced in IM2. 2:Civil War never occurs because Ultron's storyline isn't wasted on something so dumb, AoU ends totally differently, he beats their ass & he gets away) after that happens the same with a slight rewrite to reflect on Loki's misdeeds or deal with whatever consequences happened in their stories from his latest acts, Planet Hulk story wouldn't have been wasted which makes everyone happy. Thor 3 could've had a different subtitle & the main concern could've been Loki releasing the world eating serpent on Midgar. The latest Movie would've been taking the fight to Loki's realm vs. the armies he's been building & THEN it could be called Avengers: Ragnorok.Thor has Heimdall teleport the team away before his final clash with Loki & Asgard's fate is uncertain.
Steve & Tony, quit as active members except Tony doesn't tell anyone not even the movie audience, from now on they will make cameos as guidance for the new members, Bucky becomes Cap & everytime Tony cameos in any movie IM has to be providing assistance in whatever battle that character is in, he still talks & jokes mid battle but we never get a HUD on screen.

They fight Ultron with Kang & barely lose. Someone remarks that maybe if they'd found Hulk before being kidnapped, he could've helped. Kang says he knows Hulk's location but hasn't sought his help except once because he's crazy. Hulk is old & he doesn't agree to help once he recognizes them. They challenge Ultron again Cap II dies,Hulk shows up & defeats him. Then he turns crazy, attacks Vision thinking he's Ultron, defeats the team, destroys Vision & leaves. Wanda pleads with Kang to go back right before the battle & he explains to her no matter what Vision is still dead in a timeline so he takes everyone back 1 second after they left. They find & capture Hulk, imprison him, hold him accountable for Goliath II death. Tony brings the Illuminati together explains what happens about the future & since he just killed Goliath II they exile him from the planet.
Falcon takes lead role. Wanda goes crazy from grief throughout other characters movies, makes an appearance in an X-Men movie intervening in a battle between X-Men C team and some villains. Kills the villains, X-Men attempt to take her into custody, she snaps & kills them too. A few solo movies, by the third NASA announces there is a comet headed for the planet, fourth at the end reveals it's Terrax the Untamed. F4:Herald is the next movie & they defeat him. A:Galactus they lose but a regular person sacrifices himself to leave with Galactus. In mid credit the news reveals it's Norrin Radd & as they say his name we see him surfing through space.

A clip plays that shows what happened after the team left Asgard, he fights Loki until Loki finally drops his guard at the wrong moment Thor immobilizes him, tells him he's doing this for the greater good of all the Realms & he kills Loki. Love your videos man! And yea, I adored X-Men Evolution when I was a kid. I loved the dynamic of having the OG X-Men be the teachers to the younger ones. Also, Wolverine and his story with X-23 was awesome. That show gave him such a sense of humanity.

Micheal Mah'moud, definitely, though it was the same creative team, though I prefer Evolution due to character designs and I felt it was more character driven as Wolverine & the X-Men was story, though the progressive build to both is great... Sure I don't have to tell you though.
90's series has dated quite a bit but I appreciate it for telling stories quite accurately and the anime had some good concepts so if you haven't checked that out I do recommend it.
X men have been treated pretty well on the small screen. All they're animated adaptations are all good and watchable. I wish wolverine and the xmen had more time, I felt like they were going in a good direction before it ended abruptly.

Something to make the Cyke/Havok fight interesting is that, in the comics, they are unaffected by each other's powers. This would allow Cyclops to show that he can strategize and doesn't have to rely on his mutant powers.

X-men Evolution is just well done. It's not the best x-men media but it's better then most everything we've gotten, and it's stories are well written. As with all cartoons is a bit cheesy and has clunky diolog at times but I too enjoyed it.
Please fix “The Wolverine”(2013) it’s a movie that wasn’t bad but it just really lacks something.
I would have changed the twist and kept Shingen as the villain, make the Silver Samurai a henchman of his, and have Wolverine give up his immortality at the beginning instead of wondering why he lost it. Basically do an R-rated version of _Superman 2._

You win simply for having Jubilee actually do something. I’m almost at the point where I think there is a concerted effort by someone in Fox to stop Jubilee from being a major character in these films. And it goes as far back as X2. There is a deleted scene with Jubilee in museum at the beginning of the film, her hand involuntarily sparking (they even did all the effects for it) when she’s sees a derogatory display about Mutants. It feels like they wanted her to be part of the kid squad but was cut at the last minute.
I LOVE EVOLUTION! I was a mid 90's kid who didn't really get to experience comic books organically, so shows like X Men Evolution, in conjunction with the X Men Legends video games are what really got me passionate about these characters. I could write essays on how the characters shaped and strengthened who I am in real life.
Also, side note, your rewrites are genius and I don't think you get enough praise for it. Every time I watch one of your videos I sit around hoping the people who wrote and directed these movies are watching too and learn something from you.

the 90's cartoon actually did a pretty good job of the Phoenix saga. They did days of future past and Phalanx Convent, and a lot of the cris claimont run.

I'm curious if Disney can actually make a good X-Men movie. It would be hard to replicate the Avengers concept of being the team together. There's too many mutants. Fox did a terrible job. Every movie they introduced mutants only to never see them again. I'm still mad at what Fox did to Jubilee and Blob. Jubilee never gets to use her powers ever. Her scenes are always cut from the films. And Blob is supposed to be unstoppable but he gets knocked out like nothing. He only has a one second role of being knocked out wtf!
David Ortiz Blob and Juggs are opposites. Juggs is the unstoppable force and Blob is the immovable object.
"There's too many mutants" we had the same worries with Infinity War and they nailed it; my guess is that we'll not see X-Men for the next 3-4 years and that Feige already had some sorta of plan in mind even before Disney started the negociations to buy Fox. The MCU was build in a way that is always possible to introduce new people without looking weird.

My only change to what you suggested is that Quicksilver is the horseman not Magneto because a superspeed fightscene similar to DOFP with a dark undertone showing how he could be as devastating as his father(Magneto) was in first class would be a really intriguing premise not to mention a awesome scene
I love that idea even more than the one in the video. It would also be awesome if brainwashed Quicksilver told Magneto about being his son in the middle of the battle. It could be something Apocalypse made him do to leverage Magneto and try to pull him onto their side. Or maybe it's some hidden frustration Peter always had, but was revealed because his mind is under the influence of Apoc. Magneto would have to choose between his "family" of x-men and an actual family. It would make an amazing "Oh shit!" moment, instead of a plotline that was only briefly mentioned and then abandoned for no reason.
Honestly I love some good ol "son brings father back to the Light Side" narrative but this twist would be indeed so refreshing and interesting. We already saw Magneto in this bad/not so bad dynamic multiple times in movies since the 2000s, is almost like the killing Uncle Ben joke at this point.
Speedsters are overpowered. Not one of the xmen could beat him. Especially if he had a helmet like magneto.
I love this for so many reasons. I love magneto having to earn the trust of the x-men but them eventually working with him because he wants to radically change the world not destroy it. A good old fashioned moral dilemma on his part as Erik realizes that even though apocalypse wants a world of mutants, what he's doing is wrong. Plus it's a good opportunity for some fun banter between him and Charles. I think it'd be way more fun if he was taken and brain washed later in the movie. This way he comes to care about those on the team and we care about him more than if he's just snatched. I think a type of self sacrifice (intentional or he stayed behind to cover his friends escape and ends up captured) would be the best way for apocalypse to get his hands on him, showing how important those he cares about are to him (lets just run with the family theme the movie tried to give him) so theres an added level of emotion doing when the others fight him. Quicksilver was caught so they could escape and this is the consequences of that. Quicksilver won't get upgraded because he was captured later so there's no time for it, plus he's already super over powered to begin with and this way he won't be unbeatable. I like the idea of magneto working with the sentinels to stop quicksilver but this time not controlling them, it feels like a fun call back and can be a reference to Erik changing because of the event and realizing that burning everything to the ground and controlling the warped remains of what's left is a bad way to do things like I mentioned earlier. The fight itself would have the same sort of chaotic energy quicksilver had in his first scene in days of future past where he wants to break into the pentagon just for the fun of it, but much more malevolent. He'd wreak more havoc than havoc because any morals or limits he'd set for himself would be completely gone. I like to think that apocalypse isn't actively controlling his horsemen or stripping them of their personality as much as he is warping their minds to fit his needs. So the mental link think wouldn't work and we would get some fun and cynical quips from quicksilver since he's still the same person, just wrap. Also because of this, he'd probably still value family, but it'd be pushed to the back of his mind. Reminding him of it could make him hesitate in battle giving magneto a chance to break the control. I'm not sure how the actual reveal would go but maybe quicksilver reveals to a nearly beaten magneto that he can't believe he use to look up to and care about him even though he was never there for him, how in the past he was blinded by the fact that he was his father to see how pathetic and weak he actually was. Wow I wrote a lot more than I previously anticipated.

A. I fucking LOVE your version so much more than what we got.
B. I have one idea on how to make it even better. We're doing Dark Phoenix next - let's set that up here. Cyclops has a plan in Egypt to fight Apocalypse, we're going to send everything we have straight at Magneto to draw attention - Sentinels, Storm, Angel, Quicksilver and Cyclops - all the people who draw LOTS of attention to themselves. Meanwhile Nightcrawler, Jean, and Jubilee carry the real mission - covertly get control of Professor X: they take Magneto's helmet to sever Apocalypse's control of the Professor, which means the Overt Team need to kill Magneto. That's a great moment for Quicksilver and Magneto that will have a big impact on the audience, and pass the torch to the new X-men: Magneto dies at the end.
Now, Covert Team (Nightcrawler, Jean, and Jubilee) get control of Professor X, and Cyclops kinda thought that freeing Professor X might be enough to turn the tide - but it's not - Apocalypse is a fucking monster - and even with all their power, he's still just toying with them. Nightcrawler is critically wounded trying to get into melee with Apocalypse, Professor X and Jean are using all their might and still struggling to psychically hamper Apocalypse, who is not only mentally combating them, but also fighting off everyone else at this point - and suddenly it looks like Jean dies. Wait, no. What the fuck is happening. Jean is reborn - but she's not Jean. Professor X, a moment ago at the edge of breaking just from fighting Apocalypse, is now terrified - because he's the only one who knows what's coming: he put the restrictions in her mind himself.
Phoenix and Apocalypse battle. Yup. We're doing it a movie earlier now. With no explanation for the non-fans. Apocalypse is properly wounded and flees the battle, teleports out, we have no idea where he ended up. Jean is heavily damaged herself - she ends the battle unconscious, in critical condition, in a hospital. Professor X pays his respects to Magneto in the morgue, then goes upstairs to see Jean fresh from the OR. End the movie with some ominous discussion between the team about what exactly Jean/Phoenix is, and not knowing who will wake up - and if it's perhaps even better to keep her sedated forever.
Now, what this sets up is - despite Cyclops's protestation - to keep Jean sedated, Hank and Prof. X, and a team of scientists are studying her - but they still aren't certain who is in there: Prof. X considers it a gamble to wake her. In Dark Phoenix, eventually a new threat looms so large in the first act that they awake Jean - but she's Phoenix - and then she's Dark Phoenix in act 2, and then they battle and restore her in act 3: putting some limitations on her back in place. There we go, Jean is restored to the team following the events of Dark Phoenix ready for new movies.

Loki's story is long & rich with dastardly deeds that could have set him up to be the ultimate villain overall instead of Thanos. Imagine the whole setup going from The Guardian armor in Thor 1, every movie (1:War Machine *NEVER* makes an appearance during the ENTIRE 1st series of these movies, but Rhodes is introduced in IM2. 2:Civil War never occurs because Ultron's storyline isn't wasted on something so dumb, AoU ends totally differently, he beats their ass & he gets away) after that happens the same with a slight rewrite to reflect on Loki's misdeeds or deal with whatever consequences happened in their stories from his latest acts, Planet Hulk story wouldn't have been wasted which makes everyone happy. Thor 3 could've had a different subtitle & the main concern could've been Loki releasing the world eating serpent on Midgar. The latest Movie would've been taking the fight to Loki's realm vs. the armies he's been building & THEN it could be called Avengers: Ragnorok.Thor has Heimdall teleport the team away before his final clash with Loki & Asgard's fate is uncertain.
Steve & Tony, quit as active members except Tony doesn't tell anyone not even the movie audience, from now on they will make cameos as guidance for the new members, Bucky becomes Cap & everytime Tony cameos in any movie IM has to be providing assistance in whatever battle that character is in, he still talks & jokes mid battle but we never get a HUD on screen.
Using this method they could've STILL been setting up Infinity War by only showing *3* stones before this Finale,those are the: the Tesseract, which would remain in the cube until the same reveal MUCH later on, the Mind stone & the Power stone left with the Nova Corps. The next 3 are collected in the second series of movies. Ultron makes his mid series boss appearance looking more like his traditional self beats their ass again. In the climax he and IM are the last 2 standing in final 3 minutes of film when IM is defeated Ultron flies him over to the laid out Avengers as they get to their feet & says "Looks like Santa left you guys a present. " Slams IM to the ground "Here let me help you unwrap it!" Rips the armour off the arm revealing black skin underneath, in a HUD screen Rhodes groggily says "Well I guess it's time for the gloves to come off." Cut to Tony sitting at home saying aloud "Well I think you 2 already had your duel, unless you think you can think of a better way to lose this time." I M staggers to feet & watches Ultron flying away, he turns around and finds the team staring at him. Close up of IM helmet, close up Bucky face wide pan of the face off between IM & team. Smash to black screen. Ant Man 3 happens & Ghost becomes Goliath II. Quiksilver finally heals from his wounds, goes through PT and returns.
IM has 1 movie & it leads directly into A:IW.They meet Ultron again during Avengers:IW & it's Avengers vs Ultron vs Thanos. Steve,Tony & Thor returns for these 2 movies + a third in the next series. Everyone loses to Thanos, Ultron escapes again & we're see him place himself somewhere secluded & goes into Stand By, saying "The Avengers when no longer be a problem when I awaken."
Series 3 of the movies starts off with Civil War, because now Spider-Man is of proper age and has the experiences of having a real life before he unmasks himself & there should be more than enough heroes & villains for it to be done correct especially if Marvel has the rights back to X-Men & FF. Civil War is the last action paced movies for Steve & Tony, it will take 2 of them. Hulk kills Goliath II willingly, after being told by Tony to stand down(he's on the Registration team) Steve goes to jail, Tony retires from action. At the end of the 2nd movie Hulk doesn't revert back to Banner takes the Quinjet & leaves but he *DOESN'T* leave the planet. He lives in self exile. All the next solo movies B plot is looking for the Hulk & there's only 1 solo movie apiece,no trilogies, but there are 6 movies 2 of them are duo 1 has to be Scarlet Witch & Vison, Tony & IM get taken together. This is because Kang shows up and teleports them away at the mid credit scene. The next Avenger movie starts off with everyone attacking Kang, he puts them in stasis , explains they're on Future Earth, informs them Ultron has awakened & currently taking over everything & no matter how many times he goes into a different timeline he can't defeat him nor can he find him while he's in Standby. They fight Ultron with Kang & barely lose. Someone remarks that maybe if they'd found Hulk before being kidnapped, he could've helped. Kang says he knows Hulk's location but hasn't sought his help except once because he's crazy. Hulk is old & he doesn't agree to help once he recognizes them. They challenge Ultron again Cap II dies,Hulk shows up & defeats him. Then he turns crazy, attacks Vision thinking he's Ultron, defeats the team, destroys Vision & leaves. Wanda pleads with Kang to go back right before the battle & he explains to her no matter what Vision is still dead in a timeline so he takes everyone back 1 second after they left. They find & capture Hulk, imprison him, hold him accountable for Goliath II death. Tony brings the Illuminati together explains what happens about the future & since he just killed Goliath II they exile him from the planet.
Falcon takes lead role. Wanda goes crazy from grief throughout other characters movies, makes an appearance in an X-Men movie intervening in a battle between X-Men C team and some villains. Kills the villains, X-Men attempt to take her into custody, she snaps & kills them too. Planet Hulk movie happens then Avengers (Falcon becomes Cap III) & X-Men both have a House of M movie then AvX movies. At the conclusion Hulk & his team show up.
World War Hulk ends only because Meep's betrayal is revealed & he goes into exile on Earth again. A few solo movies, by the third NASA announces there is a comet headed for the planet, fourth at the end reveals it's Terrax the Untamed. F4:Herald is the next movie & they defeat him. A:Galactus they lose but a regular person sacrifices himself to leave with Galactus. In mid credit the news reveals it's Norrin Radd & as they say his name we see him surfing through space.
Old Man Logan happens, with the Hulk's children this time. Hulk is acknowledged to be alive but no one looks for him.
The next movie opens with Hulk killing Vision in the future, when Kang returns he kills him also. When news travels that Ultron is dead the remaining new heroes come out from hiding only to now find out Hulk has made himself the new planet dictator and he goes by Maestro now. He kills a lot of the new heroes, they send a distress message to the only hero of legend who may still be around. Rune King Thor shows up &demolishes Maestro. Thor says something like "our story has come to an end old friend... brother. Nothing like I would have thought. I'm sorry." A clip plays that shows what happened after the team left Asgard, he fights Loki until Loki finally drops his guard at the wrong moment Thor immobilizes him, tells him he's doing this for the greater good of all the Realms & he kills Loki. He drops his hammer at the spot of Hulk's death, a makeshift tombstone. He calls for the Bifrost to take him home. A montage of clips from all the movies play during the credits. The end.

the traditional gimmick of cyclops vs havoc has been that cyclops is better trained and more experienced. so while havoc stands around blasting scot, cyclops is the one who thinks to shoot something that explodes and hits havoc. or can target havoc's hands so he flies into a wall.
My only problem is how low you put Quiclsilver’s speed.
@18:07 For the Cyclops vs Havoc fight, why not have Striker team-up with Cyclops to take down down Havoc, since evil Havoc has been upgraded, I don't think teenage Cyclops can survive a 1 on 1 battle against him? Even though Striker is just human, he still have years of experience & knowledge in weaponry & military tactics over Cyclops. Maybe do a scene with Striker coaching Cyclops on how to survey the landscape & use the terrain to his own advantage or how to create distractions & mislead the enemy to moving where you want him to be. And after Cyclops' victory, have Striker pat him on the back you say "You should join the military. He can use more men like you."

Khan Kake did you see their roles? Jubilee never uses her powers in the movies. They recorded scenes of them using their powers then they deleted them from the movie. Blob only shows up to get beaten up in both films.
Not a good payoff considering they're one of the recognized mutants in both the comics and the cartoon series.
But the quicksilver scenes look REEEAAALLY cool.

I loved X-Mem Evolution! Although not gonna lie, it makes me sad when people just refer to Jubilee's powers as fireworks. She can control where they go, make them scalding hot to burn or purely concussive, make them bright to distract and blind, and can potentially become a walking nuclear fusion bomb!

That would have been actually a movie worth watching. The only thing I disagree about is the ending, e. g. The X-men imprisoning Apocalypse. Instead, they should have been able to wound him severely (although he should also injure them pretty bad, maybe even killing one of them) and therefore force him to retreat and go into hibernation. Now comes another point into play: The fact that Apocalypse augmented himself with celestial technology at some point in time. My idea would be that the Apocalypse they fight in the movie would be pre-augmented and therefore weaker. Simultaneously, they could fit in a scene where he can be seen being improved by said technology while hibernating. By doing this, they could have not only allowed him to return, but also to be a massive threat again. Otherwise he would just be the same guy they have already beaten before and given that the X-men get stronger over the years, there would be little reason to see him as a threat. But otherwise a very thorough and detailed analysis, especially the part about Apocalypse's iconic powers completely missing from the movie.

Considering Apocalypse was supposed to be the third and final installment in this “prequel” storyline (can’t be an official prequel when the timeline is reset), having some old characters die was essential to the movie, and the only guy they kill off was barely memorable. Still don’t understand how in Days of Future Past, Havok was one of the only ones to survive for so long. Hell, I will never forget about Darwin...
