One of the elements I truly appreciate in your videos is when I hear "...and here's where I made my first mistake". We've all been there, and you include them.
Your freehand drawing skills are enviable.
I like how you're mixing the solid wood with the plywood.
I’m always amazed at what can be done with material that would otherwise end up in a landfill. When I was a youngster all us kids were building model cars. The kits always left you with extra parts depending on what option you choose to build the model. I had so much fun creating funny looking cars using these left over parts.
Nice box, one tip I did see (can't remember from where) was to enter the bandsaw cut along the grain of the front face, it makes the glue line harder to see.
Fantastic workmanship! Thanks for posting. 👍
Clever idea for drilling the holes at an angle for the legs 👌. Awesome looking Box!👍
Wow! Superb workmanship. 👍
Brilliant! First bandsaw arriving today so gonna give this a go. Appreciate the detail you went into, thank you.
Howd it go?
@@ChrisW777 took a while to get it running right and I’ve made a couple of very dodgy boxes 😂. Getting there, thanks
@@TheWardagh thats awesome man, i glued up my first one just now, i dont have plywood so i layered thin pieces of birch and using walnut for outside! Thanks for the quick reply and good luck on your future making!!!
@@ChrisW777 sounds great, best of luck to you too 👍🏼
I think you might need an oscillating multi-tool. It would be perfect for getting those back legs on the inside. They are one of those tools that we often think are a gimmick but when you get one you find loads of uses for them.
Agree Andy useful piece of kit
I have three.... Couldn't reach unfortunately
@@RagnBoneBrownyou have way more patience than I do. I'd have cut the back off again lol
Interesting and your blunders are instructive. Thanks.
Very cute box.
Ive never tried making one of these, ive seen serveral on here but this one is one of the best looking but i also really like Make Somethings bandsaw box because its got the unique oval drawer, if i combined the oval drawer with your box structure itd be really cool!
I finally got around to checking out your channel after hearing both Andy Mac and Jimmy DiResta mention you in videos I watched recently. I’m glad I did-this is excellent work!
A Jimmy Di mention ... Wow !!!
Jimmy has never mentioned me as far as I'm aware. I don't think he knows I exist...!
Thank you!
Hmm. I could have sworn he mentioned you in relation to a maker event a year or two ago, in a video I watched the other day. In any case, someone I like spoke highly of you!
Hob Nobbing Brown eh !!!
Neat job there Keith, super idea for the leg angle jig, lots of people just eyeball it & complain about wobbly legs!
looks nice. good job
Cutest box !!!! I think the design is so nice that you should make a bigger version like a night stand , it would be perfect !!!!!!!!
That ended up looking really good, great work!
Mate that looks absolutely stunning. I love plywood edge grain.
this is so cool looking, it resembles my 1st radio, which was half meter wide though.
this gives me an idea to fit some kind of abandoned radio or MP3 player inside bandsaw boxes.
looks great!
That looks amazing. 👍
Ply end grain looks quite stylish there. Nice.👍
That would be a nice little jewellery box. Looks great Keith. Great video mate 👍
This is a very attractive box, Keith. Like you, I am a fan of the exposed plywood edge.
Thanks for sharing this video with us. Stay safe.
You are a creative carpenter and artist 👏👏👏👏👏
Keith that looks brilliant nice job 👏👍
Nicely done mate, I do like these classic videos 😊
A great little project again
Beautiful piece if art!!!
Nice build. For cutting the back legs on the inside, if there was a few mm's of space between the legs and inside wall, you could use a cuttingwire used for removing front and rear carwindows.
Wow so neat ..👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great Video and project, only had one reference to other videos in the past. Nice being able to watch a project and not be bombarded with references to other video's / projects6
I’ve not seen a bandsaw box made before. That plywood looks great sandwiched between the mahogany. Great idea for a gift.
Nice job Keith ,never ever got my bandsaw to cut a tight curve even with a new blade.
Cheers Michael, I find that with any higher tpi than 4 I struggle too. The 3 or 4 too blades cut great but they do leave a rough cut
pls make same thing but much bigger and use as nightstand / bedside table. huge single drawer looks interesting i think.
Would need a bigger bandsaw! 😀
@@RagnBoneBrown hmm yes :D but you use a different technique. like laminated or kerf cut wood bending :D
Cute
Here is a challenge do a bandsaw box and only tool you can use for cutting is the band saw
You do awesome work, dude. Very very nice!
Beautiful little box, Keith.
Thanks Tim
Gorgeous!
Some nice camera close ups Keith - Box looks great
How did you learn how to do all this? Love your work.Always look for new projects.🙂🙂🙂💙💙🌟
Well done. I like it.
Great project. You should get some of that birch ply on the lathe. It can add some really nice flair to bowls. I’ve got some on my insta.
This is such a beautiful little box ! I want one just like it, Very nicely done
Cross between an ercol chair and a 50's TV cabinet well done
You are making a antique with the old window frame! ♥️ that is one of things I love about your work! you reuse ♥️
P.S Not sure if you have ever done this or not? (If you have I am sorry I watch so much you lose track of what you see) But have you ever thought of making coasters and place mats? Matching sets 😇🥰
Thanks! I've made a few coasters over the years 👍
nice project !!!
Love when the finish brings out the true colours of the wood!👌🏽
Nice work, mate, looks brilliant.👍🏽
Won't last long at all in your store, ready to make more? 😉
PRECIOSA.👍👏👏👏👏😘😘
How much or a bite do you take each time as you put it through the thicknesser, I find any more than a half turn of the handle really puts the machine under pressure.
On my machine a quarter turn for a light pass, half turn for a heavy pass
@@RagnBoneBrown Thats great Thank you Keith.
Looks great!! a somewhat jetsons style (?). and I always love your honest mistakes that we can all learn from. why not use the oscilating tool for the back legs? no space?
Thanks. Couldn't quite reach with the multitool
how much did it sell for?
How much did you sell it for?
What was the sale price ?
😆🍻🍺😊
Plywood? lol
