I would like to see you make more of the other boxes. this one was a nice build.
All of them are great. I would watch every video you put out on them. I love making bandsaw boxes. Only made a few though. Great video btw!!
Thanks Mike!
I'd love to see you make the retro small boxes on the right side, those are all great!
Really beautiful work, John! 😃
I don't have a bandsaw... Yet! But as soon as I buy one I'm definitely going to try making one!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see the other ones done.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! Thank you for taking the time to make this smile box, video it and share it! Definitely subbed.
Thanks for sharing. The video was not only informative but relaxing to watch. Great boxes!! Do more boxes...
Thanks a lot Jack!
I second the comments to see how the retro style boxes are made! Such a cool video; thanks for sharing 😊
Love the retro ones at the end of the video too.
Would love to see lots of designs that you've come up, your boxes are fun and just different enough in my opinion to be really interesting.
I would love to see more of these boxes made.
John Phillip white again love your nose
Having made a few band saw boxes in the past, I can really appreciate how much work & time is involved. Those are some really nice boxes! 👍👍👏👏
Thanks Steve!!
I really like bandsaw boxes. I don’t have a bandsaw right now but definitely plan on making these in the future
Just bought a new 14in bandsaw... Can't wait to set it up and use for fun projects like yours... Thank you..
Greetings John, wanted to let you know that I have watched you make these boxes, and also have two of your templates that I used. Outstanding results for me because of your tutorial, you are a gifted craftsman.
I'm always looking for new bandsaw projects and I love this one. Awesome design!
Very nice, John~! Definitely something I'd like to try my hand at for some gifts, so thank you very much for the free plans on your website~!!!
Hi thanks for sharing this project. Just hat i was looking for. Will be trying this soon.
I’d love to see you build the two on the right. Also, it would be funny if the box with the two knobs sat well upon the smile box. It would be a smiley face.
Good
I’d love to see more videos of your beautiful band saw boxes!
You actually threw away all that wood?!? Like, literally in the garbage? That hurts my soul. Do you not live somewhere that you could put them on craigslist or FB marketplace for free? I would snatch those up so quickly to make end grain cutting boards.
Anyhow, now that I've ranted, I love these boxes! I bought your plans for the mini barrister bookcase and currently making some mockups using repurposed pine before I use nice wood. Anyhow, looking forward to trying these when I'm done!
(Would love to see any of those boxes being made.)
Haha ya sadly I did. At the time I was making those in my l parents garage and then moved into my current house/shop, so they sorta got lost in the mix.
Such a cool box - as always, you makes carpentry look so simple which is an art.
Enjoyed watching your builds....great explanations and teaching style. Also have built several "smile" boxes.....and not quite as easy as you make it.....but as long as you put the curves on the cuts, it all comes together! If you have video of the scalliwag box...please put that out when you get the chance. Looks fascinating . Thanks for all your videos.....really like the way you teach!
Thanks a lot Lawrence!
That is a nice project...Is a 10” bandsaw enough to do this ? I do have a big Rikon 10-324 as well but only have a wide resaw blade for it. The 10” bandsaw has a 1/4” blade.
Yup, the smaller saws can handle these just fine. Every box from my Kickstarter was made on a little 10” Craftsman which is very similar to the 10” Rikon.
👍👍🇧🇷
Hi John it's certainly very easy to see from this video as to how you went from making these bandsaw boxes 📦 back in the early stages of your woodworking career to nowadays with you making those wonderful old-school pharmacy cabinets. Timeless and amazing keepsakes on both your early days and now!. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Thanks as always Simon!
Use this as a "I would love to see how the others were done" button
Nice. I made one of your smile boxes last year and it came out a treat. Thanks again for the designs!
I am (almost) in business myself selling these, along with some designs I am now making myself. Your advice about putting the back on after you have cut out the main box shape is useful - it kinda saves a step and adds a step but definitely the right way to go for a lot of things.
Thanks Brian! Glad you’ve found some success with your work.
I bought a bandsaw about six months ago. It’s still sitting in the box in my garage. Once I find a time to set it up I’m definitely gonna try something like this. I love the mid century modern look you have going there.
They’re great entry level projects and should help you get used too using the saw. Good luck!
I just made my first bandsaw box. What a learning curve it was for me! Leaving the back off at the start is a brilliant idea.
Great to hear Terri. They’re a lot of fun! So many possibilities.
Thanks, these are great boxes!
I don't find the small one on your plans
There’s only one size. To make the small one, print the regular size at 50% size.
